I visited Island Grill for a quick appetizer and mimosa on a Sunday afternoon. I went straight to the bar and was looked after by Oscar. He was a delight and lovely to visit with! The food was scrumptious and the atmosphere was darling. Service was great and timely. So go shop, have fun in Rice Village and pop in to Island Grill for some delicious food and drink!

I had an amazing experience at Island Grill - Rice Village! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared — you can really taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere was clean, relaxed, and perfect for a casual meal. Special kudos to Oscar for ensuring everything was perfect during my visit. He was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. His attention to detail and positive attitude really stood out! Everything came out quickly, and the service was excellent throughout. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. Highly recommend!

Island Grill holds such a special place in my heart. I started coming here during my cancer treatment, and to this day we still make it a must stop every time we’re in Houston for appointments. It’s become part of our routine and something I genuinely look forward to. The food is always amazing, fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The pita bread alone is worth the visit 🤤, and everything just tastes so good every single time. And let’s talk about the best part… free ice cream 🍦 which is obviously my favorite and the perfect way to end the meal. Island Grill isn’t just a restaurant to me, it’s comfort, tradition, and good memories all in one place. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Houston! 🌴💕

I love this place and have nothing bad to say about it! I came here with my mom and the second I walked in everyone was happy with an amazing atmosphere and genuine love for what they do! I ordered the chicken pita and their croissant which was to die for also their gluten free pita is AMAZING and celiac friendly (if you have that) I'm definitely coming back with my my mom and the two chicken pitas plus two side pitas and the croissant came to roughly 35 dollars!

My brother and I come to Island Grill all the time! It's a Houston staple. They have several locations but we like Woodway and Rice Village the most - lots of natural light and cozy ambiance. The food is great, healthy (no seed oils), and perfect vibe for a wholesome lunch with family or friends. We love it!

Stopped here because the ambience was enticing— good vibes— and I can see why now! Owner and staff were inviting and friendly. Helped us select from a menu that is sure to be a crowd pleaser for all! Fresh ingredients, no seed oils, local meats and produce. Many wine and beer selections too. So happy we stopped at this gem in Rice Village!!!

We found this restaurant on my husband’s gluten free app and we were so glad we went. The employees were so nice and very helpful, and the food was incredible! They have indoor and outdoor seating. There were couples, families and friends when we were there, fairly casual and super comfortable. Did I mention their food was amazing?! We will definitely visit here again when we return to this area.

This is an excellent restaurant and fantastic find. My wife and I went for the first time and will definitely be back. I cannot eat gluten and they had numerous gluten free options including gluten free cauliflower pita bread. The staff were very knowledgeable about the gluten free options and prepared my items separately and even changed gloves. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

We come here for medical needs from KY and ate here last time we came. We loved it! So we came right back this time too. As we were sitting and struggling over the many choices and trying to narrow it down, the Assistant Manager, Ramana came up to our table and spent a significant amount of time patiently discussing all the options and helping us decide. She went with us back to the register and helped us place our order so we would get it right with all our substitutions, gluten-free options, etc. What service! Our food was fresh and delicious! We highly recommend! We will be back of course!

My daughter and I were just in the rice village area looking for a place to eat. We decided to give American Island Grill Mediterranean a try and with no regret we loved our dine in experience. The employees are super sweet and attentive. The fresh lemonade, chicken pita and sweet potato fries were so delicious!!! We have found a new spot to eat when we are back in this area. THIRD VISIT: Brought the dog this time… while the experience at the restaurant was amazing, per usual, the extended car drive with our pup in tow tested my patience in a major way... Ha! Lesson learned. This go around we ordered their kabob plate (chicken & beef) and the gyro plate with a Greek salad and seasoned French fries. EVERYTHING was very fresh and extremely delicious. We left both our plates completely clean! Maria is always amazing but she was absolutely GLOWING yesterday - stay smiling amiga!! God bless and good journey!!! SECOND VISIT: Stopped by the Island Grill again for lunch with my sister yesterday while enjoying a day out exploring the city. Lunch knocked our socks off, and the George Bush smoothie was incredible! We both had a blast and will certainly be back soon. FIRST VISIT: This afternoon was my first time coming here as I was just passing through the area. Met the owner. He is a good man. You can tell by his eyes. The eyes never lie. Also, by the words he speaks. He recommended a dish which I ordered to go. Ate half just now at home and it was amazing. The other half is for my sister. She’s asleep right now, but I just know she will love it too! Thank you so much for the wonderful food, excellent service and meaningful discussion - something severally lacking from nearly almost every other establishment in this day & age (sad but true). Great place for Greek food. I went during lunch so it was self service. The food was very good and if you want some great Greek food make sure you try this place. The pita was very soft and fresh so make sure you get an order with hummus.

I love popping in to Island Grill for breakfast with a friend or grabbing a quick coffee before shopping. The food is good and the coffee is too! They are so sweet and take care of my special coffee order without acting like I am being high maintenance. The staff is so friendly and their smiles brighten my day. Ray always takes care of me and has such a warm greeting. Today I met Maria and appreciated her patience while I decided what I wanted. Great start to my day and I will always be back!

I’ve been coming here since 2021 for the sandwiches , fries, lemonade, free icecream or frozen yogurt , and the amazing customer service! All my friends love the food here too, it’s also lovely to read on the patio! Ramona helped me get fries and a cookie today and wished me a happy 30th birthday after I told her yesterday was my birthday 😊🥳. They often have specials on holidays like Mother’s Day to enjoy with your loved ones! It’s also a very walkable area with beautiful neighborhoods nearby and shops to browse. Dogs are welcome on the outside patio on a leash. This is my favorite Island Grill location!!

This is a nice little gem in the Rice village area. Delicious food really friendly service great healthy options with you Felt. Welcome clean atmosphere outside of need to put a coat to use the bathroom. It was a great experience from entering to exiting parking. Can be quite difficult as it’s a very busy restaurant Highly recommend I look forward to going back.

We went to this place for my mom’s birthday brunch and the food was amazing! There are so many gluten free options too—it’s so easy to find something to eat here! BUT—it’s best to not go with a large group. Seating is incredibly limited, both inside and out. Outside patio is beautiful but the tables don’t move. There were multiple large parties there that day that had to sit separately. The service was a little slow and it is a walk up to order situation. Between that and the patio, I would advise going with the right group and expectations. The food is worth it!
