If I could give 10 stars, I would. Everything here hits the mark — quality, quantity, price, and service. Easily one of my favorite Korean spots. Can’t wait to come back!
Update on Jan 8 /2026 I convinced my husband to drive all the way here for some gukbap, and it was totally worth it. It’s hard to find a Korean restaurant that offers a variety of gukbap dishes, and it’s even harder to find flavors that truly taste like what you get in Korea—but this place delivers on both! We had the pork gukbap and gamjatang, and both were delicious. The kimchi and pickled onions were great too, and the flavors were almost exactly like what we’re used to in Korea. I also really appreciated that the server brought us both warm barley tea and cold barley tea—such a thoughtful touch. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Houston :) Happy New Year! 🎉 ---------- Soondae Gookbap was sooooo good! It didn't have a pork smell and the portion was so generous! Two different kimchi and pickled onions were delicious, too! If you're Korean missing 국밥, I highly recommend this place!
So good!!! We had the boddam platter and dweji gukbap and it was incredible. I love the broth for the dweji gukbap. So refreshing and mild but so delicious! We also had their barley tea and makgeolli, it was good. Definitely a great find! The staff were wonderful and the resturant was super clean. Highly recommend
This Korean restaurant is such a hidden gem in Houston! The food tastes authentic and full of flavor — especially the beef bone soup and Jokbal Jongsik. You can tell they use good ingredients and cook with care. The atmosphere reminds me of small restaurants in Korea — warm, minimal, and inviting. Staff are attentive and sweet, which makes the whole experience even better. If you’re tired of BBQ spots and want something more homey and comforting, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Don’t forget to try the Soju too! 🇰🇷✨
I’ve been watching one Korean drama and seeing pork trotters being mentioned in almost every episode. I had to try. Googled and saw that this place is one of the only places you can get it in Houston. For the price of one meal you easily get two meals! The waitress was so friendly. She constantly refilled my waters and the side dishes. She also gave me free rice to go with my leftovers. I will definitely be back. ♥️
We are no new comers to this place. They got the best bang for bucks Bossam and Jokbal in town with the fresh ingredients. We are even on their reward program which will eventually got points for free meals. If you are in Chinatown next town. You must come and try at least 1000000times. On top of that, how do we know they are good since we always runs into Korean families customers with multi generation. Then you know it is been approved.
I stumbled upon this place about a year ago and fell in love with it! Now, I regularly come here with my family and friends. Not only is the atmosphere and customer service great, but the food is outstanding!! I believe they specialize more on the broths/soups so I typically get the Beef Stew (M5) and it never fails to hit the spot! 👍🏼 I definitely recommend this place if you’re craving good food and good service!
first time here and won't be the last never noticed this "hole in the wall" since it's in the same strip of Honey Pig can be easily missed canme for the July promotion a friend recommended and yes that are definitely generous with their portions food is great as well and great customer service with the 2 young waiters super nice esp the taller one we dined on Sunday 7/20
Is a perfect Korean style eatery. It has all the basics and the goodies that people go for after a night on the town. We came here for bossam and Jokbal but decided it was way too much food. I was able to order a little combo it was more than enough food for the two of us. They have authentic stews and haejangguk. The servers on the floor this day were two Hispanic women who were able to understand all of our orders in Korean. they knew the Korean words and how to take the orders and what to ask for and how to present the food and everything. Very impressive.
We have been here many times and love the food here. If you love soondae, it’s definitely the place to come. They also have a variety of soups for your choice, which are all very delicious and always warm my heart. The galbi is tender and tasty that is a must-try. Other than the food, the service is good and the environment is clean and restful.
If you haven’t try this place, definitely come give it a try! We love the soup here, especially on a cold windy night - this place hits the spot! Number 10 the short ribs is also delicious - I always have to order this when I come, it comes with a free soup and rice. Service is excellent, they are friendly and attentive! The only thing I am not a fan of is the pop songs and music videos playing on tv, it’s a bit noisy for me personally but I’m an oldie.
Overall the food is good, and usually the restaurant is not overly crowded. I wish they would have options for small dishes, appetizers. For 1 or 2 people it would be a lot of food if you order 2 items, but if you just order 1 then it wouldn’t be enough and you can’t try different dishes.
Atmosphere is great, relax no preassure from the waiters to eat fast. Food needs to be improved, need more taste to it. It was pretty flat taste. Other korean restaurant taste better Service is ok but the waiters need more smiling. 4 adults and 4 kids (6, 4,4 and 7months, they charged 18% tips included. 3 dishes total with tips $130.
I ordered Soon dae (23.49 USD) and Gam ja tang (18.49 USD) by Uber Eats. Game ja tang was amazing, nothing to mention about it, meats, vegetables, soup, everything was good and I will definitely order again, but when I opened the container for Soon dae, I was disappointed and I could not believe how come this small portion of food cost 23.49 USD, 5 dollars more expensive than Gam ja tang. It was a small amount and they were cut so thin, big difference between the picture, plus they seemed just spread out on the container to be seen pretty much but it was not at all. I think it worth 12-13 USD maximum. I want to share this information because I am sure other customers will be disappointed as well.
came here with my family for a late lunch early dinner, planty of seats was sat down right away, the server was very friendly, we ordered 3 of their soup dishes and an iron plated grilled short rib, plus the mid sized Wang Jokbal, the soups were just ok, I've tasted better Korean soup, now the Wang Jokbal's size was HUGE, if that is medium, i hate to find out what large is, it tasted pretty good. So i wouldnt drive all the way here just to eat at this restaurant, but if you are in the neighborhood and crave Korean food, you can try this spot, place is clean.
