Against all odds, we dined at this African restaurant, and we are eternally grateful that we did. It is a compact dining area that features an exceptional menu and a welcoming, family-like ambiance. The Egyptian platter 🍛 was an unforgettable experience and an outstanding selection. Pita, an alternative name for nam bread 🍞, was palatable and enhanced the flavor of the egg plant and hummus. The lentil soup 🍲 is exceptionally gratifying. Due to the persistent influx of food, we unintentionally failed to conduct a tally of the quantity of items presented on the platter. The tea 🍵 was both invigorating and delectable, and it aided in digestion while the lamb was prepared to perfection. The conversation with the the owner was intellectually stimulating and entertaining. The way in which he described utilizing the two oils to prepare one of the dishes substantially altered its flavor and overall experience. We are certain to be returning.

I wish I could add more pictures of the food, but I’ll be honest I barely took any. I orderd the all you can eat sampler and each time a dip or dish was brought out I had ZERO self control and immediately ate everything. I don’t leave reviews often, but when I say this is some of the best food I’ve ever had…I mean the best. I made audible noises with each taste and was incapable of conversation with the lovely owner or anyone else. The flavor, the texture everything was a yes for me. From appetizer to dessert I couldn’t get enough. I have made my man promise that every time he is in Houston that he will make a stop and bring me food back to Austin. If you’re in town and don’t stop here you’re missing out on a true experience. Service on point. Food on point. Please support this business

This is my family's first experience at Kenz Mediterranean-Egyptian: My dad ordered the lamb dish, which was really tender and especially delicious when paired with the vegetables and sauce that came with it. My mom ordered the Yellow Rice Platter dish with Chicken and Greek Salad. The rice and chicken flavors had a subtle kick that enhanced the dish. I ordered the Kenz Mediterranean Quesadilla with Gyro, which came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and cheese folded in a nice and thin Mediterranean Flatbread similar to that of a tortilla. I've never had pickles in a quessadilla, but I must admit the ingredient did add to the flavorful experience throughout the dish. It is the perfect amount for someone with a semi-big appetite, but even if you have a smaller stomach <like me>, it is also a great dish to save one or two slices of quessadilla to reheat for a future meal. (It also came with a sauce, I'm unsure what it was. However, it was really good when I dipped the quessadilla in it!) We enjoyed a platter of walnut baklava with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. The ice cream had a subtle yet present vanilla flavor, and the texture was slightly more solid than that of "scooped soft serve." The ice cream was not too overwhelmingly sweet, which paired well with the slightly sweeter crispy squares of baklava. One item from the menu we truly enjoyed was the Hot Egyptian Tea, which was really enjoyable even amidst the hot summer heat of Houston. The tea was slightly sweet, and there was a subtle hint of mint, creating a unique and comforting flavor. Highly recommended to try! Thank you, Kenz Mediterranean, for the fantastic meal! We will be sure to visit again soon!

The service was excellent! The owner was very welcoming and professional. The food was also phenomenal starting with the lentil soup which had a solid punch and filled with flavor. The yellow basmati rice platter was a 10/10 because the chicken was very juicy. The specialty was definitely the Koshary which was a full flavor bomb that is definitely worth a try.

Stopped by here for dinner during a work trip- it was just a short walk across the street from the mall. The food is sooo good, the portions are incredible value for the price, and the owners were super friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back next time I visit Houston!

I tried the National Dish from Egypt and was delicious and spicy. It was vegetarian but I was so satisfied that I don't need eat another protein than that. I like the background Music and the service was excellent!!! Also I tried the Tea they have and I can't stop drink... so Delicious!!! Price are affordable. The only thing I would change is the decoration It will be better if is totally oriental. Because the place is a dream reminds me That beautiful part of the world.

We had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent overall. Chicken was a bit dry and the foul needed other condiments to it. Lamb shank was very moist and not gamy. The Koshary was amazing. The desserts were all good. We had the Kunafa, Oum Ali and the rice pudding. It's just a little pricey for the type of food, but it is in the Galleria so you can't blame them. Overall a good experience.

We visited this newly opened Egyptian restaurant based on a friend’s recommendation. Although the wait was long due to shortage of staff, the food was good. The waitress brought by some hummus and bread as an apology for our wait. We tried several dishes: the macarona bel bachemel, (Egyptian lasagne) the warak enab (dolmas), the molokheya, and the chicken panet platter. Everything tasted hot, fresh, and flavorful. The owner came by personally and asked us for honest opinions on each dish. He was attentive and seemed genuinely looking for constructive feedback, which I appreciated. He also generously provided dessert on the house to conclude our meal. We enjoyed our experience overall and will be back.

Appetizer platter was good. Meat was very flavorful. Daal dish needed salt. Desserts were delicious. Giving a 3 because the hot food was all delivered in plastic which has statistically been shown to create carcinogens. That is absolutely not how dine-in food should be served in a restaurant.

I would have liked to rate this place higher. They are actually very good and great food… however there were a few areas that were deficient and hence the rating. Let me start with saying that our server was really very nice and welcoming. We ordered our food, which took a while to arrive. In addition one of the sides were missed. We waited but then it was too late to get it, so we reminded them and let them know to take it off, however they ended up bringing it towards the end of the meal and made it on the house, which was a nice gesture. The server also let me try the lentil soup at request, which was really nice of them. We loved it and ordered it and that too was forgotten, which we didn’t bother to remind since we had finished our meal. The food overall tasted alright! The kicker was the $4 sprite bottle and $2 water bottle which wasn’t even asked for really, and I only realised when I picked the bill. It’s a small thing, and overall our dinner was around 50 bucks, but it was comparable and we would be willing to give this place another chance.
