La Calle never let me down, and this place is the full package — amazing flavors, great food quality, a cool vibe (fantastic latin music), and really good service. Every time I come in, I order the carnitas and suadero tostadas, but if there’s one thing I have to highlight, it’s the Birria. Mother of God!! Their salsa and toppings bar for the tacos is super fresh and has tons of variety. Don’t skip the jamaica agua fresca, and the pozole is a solid 10/10.

Pricey, but worth it! Carne asada tacos are sooo good! We tried the pineapple marg, pastor, suadero, and birria as well and they were also good. We normally go for flour, but got the corn and didn’t regret it! We’ll definitely be back.

My favorite tacos in Houston. Every single time it hits. You can’t go wrong with any of the meat choices, but I go with the Pastor, Birria, and Chorizo. It’s all hot and fresh, and they actually fill the tacos. Grab a cold beer and enjoy the salsa bar as well. I always miss pictures because I’m too excited for the food, but here’s a few as well. Highly recommend!

We were staying in the area for the weekend and decided to give La Calle Tacos a try. It was a fun and inviting atmosphere. We tried the street tacos carne asada, birria, al pastor, and carnitas. All were delicious. They had all the right toppings and a variety of fresh salsas. If you are downtown and looking for good tacos, give them a try. The price wasn't too bad considering the location. Overall, delicious food and good experience 👍

OMG, I think I've found my chill place to eat great tacos, I ordered the Street Taco Plate (pastor, fajita, brisket birra & pork roast with chicharrone) DELICIOUS!!!! And I got a freebie, pozole (no meat) still full of flavor and hominy kind of soup. It went great with my tacos. All that with a side of a agua fresca, sandia (watermelon) and my drink got topped off. Yes please, I was smiling from ear to ear. You gotta stop after the game, they their own cantina next door.

A little pricey but amazing tacos! I was nearby for jury duty and opted for these tacos instead of cafeteria food. Boy was I glad! I got the street tacos and tried the pastor, birria, and chicken. Super good and loved the salsa. The plate had 5 tacos for $13. Not a bad price for downtown! I sat in there and vibed to the Mexican music. Nice lunch break. Employees were nice and friendly.

Randomly found this place after looking for street tacos while in the area. Cool spot to have a quick bite to eat. I ordered the Chorizo and Chicken Torta. It was decent I would give it a 4 outta 5 just because I’ve had better tortas. My brother order the street tacos with the birria consume. He said the tacos were good, but that the consume made them even better. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

The only issue I have is I believe for the price the quantity does not match BUT the QUALITY is top tier. It good freshly made food to the point the flavors hold up even a 1hr or 2 later. The service was average like nothing extravagant but the ladies were nice and patient. The atmosphere is unique and the connected bar on the other side has a good vibe to it as well. I think they would benefit from a like happy hour price system concerning the food to just up sales but otherwise they are GREAT

I agree with some of the comments about the quality/quantity of the food not matching the price. It does seem overpriced. The sauce is really good but some of the meats were lacking. The ambiance is great, unique and I liked the bar attached on the side definitely a fun place if you're on the bar side.

First time visiting this taco joint. I loved the concept that they have, a smooth and quick ordering system. They have drinks, including beers in a cooler that you can grab first, and then you proceed to ordering your tacos directly from the staff, so you see the way they’re making them in front of you. Menu is not too big, very simple, good options. Staff was not very friendly, or accommodating. Cool concept, love the salsa bar, they have spicy options, which is not so typical, I love spicy. Food was all right, very greasy. The space is divided in two, they have a bar next-door, where you can also sit down and order food. Cool space, recommend.

I decided to try this location since I’ve been to the Franklin one before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to my expectations. It took 19 minutes for my food to come out, and when it finally did, it just wasn’t good. I appreciated the free samples and decided to try the beans, but those weren’t great either. The place itself looks inviting—a good spot to hang out, and I noticed they offer bingo and movie nights, which is a nice touch. Still, based on the food and the overall experience, I doubt I’ll be coming back to this location.

What a great location with city vibes and enjoyment of the nightlife on one of Houston's busiest corners. Food is great when needing to sober up after night out on the town. The only exception is that the staff is made up of young professionals that lack bartending experience and relationship management. I witnessed one of the bartenders by the name of Angel that appears to not be consistent when managing customers during the day when I went there right before leaving town for the airport last month. Seems to be a lack understanding of how important client retention is. Then I had another opportunity to be serviced by Toni and Edgar, and they were really nice. Drinks are not the best for the price but the food is good. I have been going there for about a year and there is a guy in the kitchen that goes by the name of Maurice that is cool and another guy in the kitchen that I saw by the name of Alex that doesn't like to smile. All in all its a hit or miss when interacting with staff. If you want to ensure a better experience they have a kiosk on the side that you can order through and get your food at the side window.

Thiswas SO bad that I didn't even complain. I literally threw it in the trash and bought a second lunch. The two bites of the taco I ate were absolutely REPULSIVE with some gristly fat chewy substance that didn't belong. The tortillas have this remarkably bad after taste. This aftertaste stays with you for hours. Even the smell was breathtaking. I gagged on the gristle. I am 51 years old and I grew up in a city full of Mexican people and I'm quite familiar with Mexican food. Tbis was objectively the worst thing that I have ever put in my mouth. I'm not trying to be mean. If I can spare one innocent human being from eating I will have completed a good deed for the day. It's really that freaking bad. I vomited on the street outside.

2 weeks ago I came and got my toppings on the side but today I was told it wasn’t allowed. 😂 I said please give me a refund. $32.46 for 6 tacos and they have the audacity to say I have to get my toppings on it or not at all Is crazy. It’s too many places in midtown with great tacos to play games.

Would not recommend this place the “manager” who would not give a name, questionable.. would not accommodate less sauce on my food because they were “busy” okay so can I get no sauce? Awful experience. **Spend your hard earned money here at your own risk.** My husband and I both ordered the street taco plates. We walked to the bar side to eat. The tacos are super salty and lacked real flavor. I rate the food 2/5. I decided to order a frozen lime margarita at the bar. After paying I realize the total is 12.99 on a drink advertised as $10.99 before tax. The drink rang up as $12 before "tax" and $12.99 after "tax" This didn't make sense (what happened to the drink that was $10.99?) Also this was approx. 6oz pour which is tiny. I'm familiar with how taxes are calculated and based on the Harris County restaurant/on-premise alcohol tax rates the receipt did not make sense. This restaurant is profiting by adding money to your bill that can not be identified. It is not an auto gratuity, service charge, or tax. It is simply an attempt to overcharge patrons that aren't paying attention and is unacceptable. I asked the cashier and the bartender why my drink advertised as $10.99 totaled to $12.99. These are the responses I received: 1. The 'frozen drinks' price advertised is not for margaritas. I asked what other frozen drinks do they offer. They said none. 2. Because my margarita was served in a glass instead of foam cup. (I did not ask for glass) Also why would they charge more for a much smaller glass cup that is reusable? 3. Because I didn't purchase the margarita in the morning i.e prices change throughout the day 4. After several excuses that didn't make sense the bartender did apologize and admit that they don't ACTUALLY know and said she would ask the manager. I saw her speak with him and he never came over to clarify the pricing to my husband and I 4. I don't blame the workers. This has been implemented by the owners and they need to be held accountable. After reading other reviews this is an issue in their establishment and also illegal. Do better, Tacos La Calle. It is unethical to take advantage of paying customers that CHOOSE to support your business. Failing to be transparent for a quick buck will surely be their downfall.
