I had a wonderful time dining in today with some friends after work. Our experience with our server Jason was fantastic; he was incredibly patient and kind, and he didn't mind all the questions we asked him. He was such a delightful person to be served by. I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10!
Great oyster bar with an excellent selection of fresh oysters, delicious food, and well-crafted cocktails. Everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the evening. We truly enjoyed spending time there during our visit to Houston. It was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great seafood, drinks, and a welcoming ambiance.
This place is top tier, period. We went for my husband's 53rd birthday and it was AMAZING! He hadnt been to LK RO since it was owned by the previous owners. He's always loved the place, but this experience under Culinary Khancepts was on another level! The atmosphere was fresh and fun, but quiet enough that we could hear eachother talk. We had 7 people so it was a bigger table! The food was outstanding. Jason took care of us and shared the off-menu items for the night; we ended up ordering every single one of them and they were to-die-for! Every single item on our plates was divine and delicious, cooked to perfection. The presentation was special as well; not overdone but classic and simple and gorgous! The appetizers were delicous too! P.S. ALWAYS order the beet humus! Jason brought out a special bread pudding with a candle for my husband and it was just perfect! Every single touch on the evening was done with love and class. Jason is exceptional and we will be back to see him!!! Thank you, LK RO for the best birthday celebration for my husband!
Really nice experience and the food was delicious. Service was attentive, though a couple mistakes happened. We'd go back to enjoy the food and atmosphere. I'm surprised it wasn't busier but we did have dinner a little earlier than most. You may want to consider reservations if you're going later. Enjoy yourself and spread the word.
I stopped by Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette (River Oaks) after work for some oysters and a glass of white wine. They were almost closing on a Sunday night, but the service was still fantastic — friendly and attentive. The oysters were super fresh, the wine was perfect, and everything was delicious. I even came during happy hour, so a dozen oysters and a glass of wine only cost me about $25. Great experience overall — I’ll definitely be back
Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette - River Oaks I started with the appetizers — crab cake balls and a dozen oysters on the half shell. Both were fresh and flavorful, a great way to begin the meal. For my main dish, I had the seafood gumbo — rich, flavorful, and full of fresh ingredients. Overall, a great dining experience with fresh seafood and excellent service. I’m sorry I didn’t dress up properly since I came straight from storage and was just wearing shorts and a cap 🧢 — I’ll definitely dress better next time😉
Walking into Liberty Kitchen the atmosphere was very welcoming from the time I step out the car. As we were seated by the host our server Austin was at our service right a way. Austin presence alone let me know Liberty Kitchen was the perfect choice. Austin presentation and service was immaculate! Austin is one of kind and it shows. Thank you for the great experience.
If you haven’t been to Liberty Kitchen on San Felipe in a while, it’s time to go back. Something has changed, and it’s just exceptional now. We started with the special Seafood Guacamole, which was splendid, and then lost ourselves in the Texas Redfish on the Half Shell & Butter Crab, along with the Boursin Mashed Potatoes. This meal was simply amazing (and beautifully plated). I haven’t yet tried their brunch menu, but it is extensive and deliciously enticing. We had family in town who loved their LK experience so much that they demanded we return before they headed home. Parking seems a bit worrisome at first, but valet makes it super simple.
Food was excellent!! There were only 3 other tables while we were there which was very different from prior visits. Waiter didn't come to the table after he took our entree order until I asked for the check. I had to ask the expo runner for a tea and water refill. No manager came out to do a table touch for Sunday dinner meal.
Visited this location specifically for the lobster bisque, and I was not disappointed. It is filled with lobster in a creamy sauce. Very good. Their bread was unique. It was seasoned on top;different but good. Valet Parking (no charge tips only)is available. If not, you can park really close for free. Access to the restaurant is a challenge because it's on a busy street Atmosphere was cozy, family vibe or date night (depends where you sit) Prices were $$ Service was 5 star, he chatted with us & was attentive (not annoying) Lots of seating. There is no specific dress code The place was nicely decorated

You have to go here! All the food is absolutely amazing! The service is great! The drinks are good.
Went for the SO bday and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything was top tier, the food, the ambiance and the service. We still talk about this place! Worth every bit of my coinage!
The food is fantastic. Ask for the daily specials. The Wagyu steak is 14 ounces of perfection and the oysters are ALL amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything here I am sure.

We had a great time! We sat at the bar and were served by Juan, and then Kimmie. The food, atmosphere and ambiance were stellar,
We went here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was surprisingly quite packed. Our server was very nice but there was quite a few miscommunications between us in terms of what we were ordering. He was very gracious about comping misordered things but it was still a little bit frustrating. That said, the food was very good. This is an oyster bar and the oysters tasted excellent. They have a full array of East Coast oysters as well as Gulf Coast oysters. We also had the avocado crab lump appetizer which was excellent. We also had some of the ceviche/crudo. The lobster bisque was very good as well.
Beautiful dining establishment with great staff to match. Stopped by during their happy hour and it was pretty empty. The interior was beautifully decorated and well anointed. Came mainly for their oysters and was disappointed with the taste and how they were shucked. The sandwich and drink I ordered was also just alright. Food was just okay overall, but it is truly a beautiful place to eat. Not sure I’d come back here for the food, but seems like it’d be a nice place to dine during dinner or for a date.
If I had the money, I would dine here on weekends for a treat. A man brought me here for a date and we both selected pasta as mains. They were flavourful and served in large portions. We also tasted some oysters, which were very fresh. The waiter forgot to input our mains into their order system so there was a delay. However, the manager offered dessert for free to appease us. I am unaccustomed to such sincerity, so I appreciate it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 stars) I’ve been to Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette several times over the years, sitting at the bar, dining solo, coming with friends, and even for date nights. I really wanted to love it, which is why it’s taken me a while to leave a review. Overall, everything here is… fine. Nothing is objectively bad. You can always find something edible and serviceable on the menu. But nothing has ever been particularly memorable or “knock your socks off,” especially for the price point. Most recently, I stopped in specifically for oysters, and unfortunately they were underwhelming. They didn’t taste especially fresh or briny, and for how much they cost, I expected a much higher-quality experience. This hasn’t been a one-off feeling either. Across multiple visits, the food consistently lands in the middle of the road. One additional note on service: I’ve had the same server on more than one occasion. He is genuinely kind and well-intentioned, but he tends to talk quite a bit. For some guests that may be charming, but for others, it can feel a little overwhelming. A bit more balance there would go a long way. All that said, this isn’t a bad restaurant. It’s a solid, dependable option if you’re nearby and want something easy. I just wish it delivered more consistently on freshness, flavor, and overall value given its River Oaks pricing.
The food was alright. Our server was nice & attentive. The restaurant was a little loud but overall very nice environment.

I had high hopes for this restaurant. I love oysters and go out for them frequently. That said, the best part of what our experience was the waitress. She was very sweet and she did try. However, she could not make up for having to go through 3 people before anyone could tell us where the oysters were from. Even then, what we were told is a completely made up. If you're whole restaurant concept is based around oysters, then your staff should be well trained on where they come from. We didn't even order a full meal because the bread service was comical (not free, just reheated buttered rolls) and the marinated crab claws were gross. At that point I was done.
Came here for birthday dinner and for the oysters. Servers didn't know where the oysters were from specifically but I'd say no fault to the server (lack of training). They came out poorly shucked with chips of shell in half of them. Three or four were butchered and/or milky colored, ended up not eating one. Ordered the octopus seasonal special which was served cold and plated sloppy broken sauce for a high end place. Same with the duck, the foie gras seemed to be out of a can. Overall food was semi ok but not worth the prices they charge. Really disappointed in the oyster experience. Feels like one of those restaurants pretending to be fine dining when I would have been ok with the experience if I paid half or less of what I did. Service however was really good I will say.
Bartender Taylor acted as if I were invisible from the moment I sat down while I witnessed her interact with everyone else to either side of me. To add insult to injury- I was being WATCHED by her an…
service was so bad ,after bringing out appetizer waited over an hour ,no next dish ,no staff came to ask ... We will never come back
