This is one of my favorites! Owner & staff (especially Bella)are so kind and the food is wonderful. Treasures of the Sea is my favorite, along with the crab puffs and crispy Brussel sprouts.
I have driven by this place 100 times but was never overly impressed with the building or signage. Wow, was I missing out. I have traveled all over the world and tasted seafood and many countries but the unique recipes and flavors from this Taiwanese owner and chef, was quite unique and delicious. He definitely has a following because so many people came through the door during the couple of hours we were there. I can’t wait to go back. Ravioli appetizer what a total surprise and very delicious. Snapper Dish was Divine.
Our family has come here for years and all ages find something delicious to eat. The amount of high quality sushi and food you get is very generous for the prices! Bring your extended family for a seafood and sushi meal you know you will never regret. I also appreciate the edition of the second floor with a more low-key relaxed dinner area while still feeling high class. Down stairs now gets to keep it's nautical theme and charm and let families of all sizes and ages enjoy in an area that allows conversations and interacting with ease!!
I have been visiting this establishment for the past 7 years and I have NEVER had a less than 5 star experience for the food, service, the presentation, friendliness and cleanliness. Everything on the menu is 5 star! I strongly recommend for all occasions. One of the best kept secrets in Houston
I have been eating here for quite a while and what I come for is the sushi. This is not your ordinary sushi (maki) but the Texas version of what sushi would be like it it was invented here. Super generous portions and always flavorful and sure to satisfy your pallet. There is a first and second floor and normally the second floor is open for lunch or weekend dinners. What I love the most is the consistent food creation (great food) and consistent service is A+ . Please give it a try, if you like seafood you found the right place. Only negative is it’s kinda dark for my old eyes but I can overlook that with the food and service.
We typically dine at Redfish Grill for their seafood and sushi. I was surprised to learn that they serve the best Goat Curry! We went there with a priest from India and he was so excited because they make their goat curry the same way his mom makes it at home in India. It is not on the menu but is served daily as one of the specials. So for those of you who crave for Indian Goat Curry, try it out. Also, our waiter said the chef’s favorite dish is the King of the Sea. I can attest that it was fabulous (lobster tail with sea bass)! Big menu with lots of delicious options.
I've lived in the area for several years and only starting visiting here recently. Don't make the same mistake. Go soon and regularly. We were worried when we arrived as the parking lot was packed, but we were seated right away. Reservations are accepted though if you need to be sure. This was my second trip to Red Fish. The patio was nice and and well attended to. The servers are friendly and the owner (my guess, maybe GM) checked on each table occasionally throughout the night and interacted with the kids. Thus, the atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly. The food is beyond expectation. Everything that comes out looks amazing and tastes even better. Between the two trips, I've tried the lobster pot, the seafood pasta, the marinated chicken, seafood gumbo, and lobster and shrimp mac and cheese (pictured). All had fantastic flavor and were good portions. My in laws who went with me the first time and had the cioppino and braised beef with pork belly raved about their food as well. We also had a couple of their desserts. The chocolate eruption cake was amazing, in particular. As I said, go soon and often.
Best seafood around this area . Food is always great . They have the best salt water fish tank that I have ever seen . Love going here
Spicy octopus salsa and nachos (B+) (sorry no pic) Seafood Mac n cheese (A-) Seafood fettuccini (A+) Crab puffs with mustard (A) All were excellent! Will be going here every Friday during lent. Can’t wait to try more. I actually ordered safe and went with pasta dishes but lots of people ordered the sushi and now I’ll be venturing into some more exotic entrees on the menu.
My wife and family eat here regularly. From the lunch and dinner specials to the sushi and sashimi, almost every dish here is tip top. Service is great upstairs, but young children cannot accompany upstairs diners. I recommend the firecracker roll, silver king roll (all cooked), the crunchy roll, and any appetizer. Every lunch/dinner meal we have eaten here has been on point. When we don’t feel like sushi, we eat the salmon and sea bass. Tried a pork belly and braised beef dinner one night and it was amazing. I can’t say enough good things about the food here. Pics below are the silver king roll and the lobster bisque. Mm mm good!!
Been wanting to try this place for 10 years and finally got around to it. Wish we had gone sooner! Will for sure be back with our whole family. Absolutely delicious. I had the gulf red snapper. Fish was as fresh as it could be, cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavor. My wife had the cioppino, also amazing! Staff was friendly and very attentive.
We had a nice meal, the clam chowder was really good as well as the calamari. We also tried the crab cakes, and (believe it or not) goat curry. We have never been here before, but we will be back.
This is our GO TO for Sushi 🍱 We love the owners, they are always so good to us each time we go! Highly recommend the cucumber Jalapeno margaritas, they are home made!
The food was fabulous. The owner waited on our group and he was so honest about the best fish to have. Service was great and friendly staff. I had the redfish and the seasoning was perfect. My husband had the shrimp and grits. The grits were so creamy. I will go again.
Great place for lunch! Service was excellent and the food was fresh and delicious! We had the calamari, fish and chips and a ribeye steak. The rest of the group had more traditional seafood fare everything was excellent! Went back for dinner and had the Crabb cakes and flounder - the food and service are still top notch!
Went above and beyond to accommodate our 10yr old grandson who is on the spectrum! Thank you so much for a nice family outing in a nice atmosphere!
Food is always good and great testing! I think we have had just about every item on the menu. Always friendly staff. The manager and owner both visited our table many times just checking up on us . My first experience was about 4 years ago but we return regularly. This is a Hidden gem! If I had recommended anything it would be Redfish and chang's edamame. Last visit 10-19, had lunch with my wife upstairs. My wife tried the bowl and it was delicious! Never a bad experience!!
The owner is very blessed to have a crew that I have seen in performance tonight .After sitting at the sushi bar and watching the staff absolutely nail it on Christmas Eve you should know if you want sushi or any Kick-Ass Seafood this is the spot to go to. Now I just hope I can make it home and this food pleases the wife on Christmas Eve
This is a really great sushi place. The quality and size of the rolls are on point always fresh ive been coming here for a few years never disappoint
What a delightful surprise! The outside looks a little sad, so we avoided this place for 5 years. I can honestly say, I should have visited this place a long time ago. The entire menu lists option after option of exotic flavor combinations. The drink menu was no exception - fun, new creative drinks. We had the gumbo, chang special, blackened red fish and the bread pudding...all were great and presentation was exemplary. We will be back!! (My husband says: This place is pretty respectable.)
The Ahi Seared Tuna on Spinach (aka Tuna Bomb) was incredibly good. The tuna was tender & seared perfectly on top of warm spinach & cooked veggies. The veggies were cut into thin noodles, making it easy to eat. Both sauces on top added sweetness & a tiny bit on heat... every bite was perfection. Speaking of perfection... The Mango Key Lime Cheesecake is my new favorite dessert. Best dessert I've ever had! Even the crust was good. It was a thin crust with coconut in it. All my favorite flavors in one delicious cheesecake: mango, key lime, coconut down to the chocolate drizzle! I had real tears... yes... it was THAT good! The service was great & the atmosphere (downstairs) is nautical-casual & reminded me of the seafood restaurants back home in Florida. Easy 5 stars!
This place has a fish camp vibe, casual, with a full bar. The snapper in the chef's spicy sauce was really tasty, and I absolutely loved the bacon wrapped asparagus. I could have eaten many of those for a meal! My companion got the blackened redfish. It was a little spicy and came with lump crab meat, and he was very happy with the dish. We did not order sushi but saw a bunch coming out of the kitchen and it looked excellent, quite large portions.
I was told to never eat at restaurants that are shaped like boats. This has been, by far, the best gastric experience I've ever had. I got the lamb. The spinach was beautifully infused with flavor, the mashed potatoes were so goo. The lamb was perfectly seared. And the presentation was immaculate. My friend got the lobster, I'm told it was yummy. Really, really wanted to eat the flower but I didnt have room for dessert 😂 Oh and the lobster bisque was incredibly hearty.
Been coming here for 7 years now. It's always a good experience, food is cooked to perfection, seasoned adequately but not over the top, drinks are strong, and desserts are fresh. Sit upstairs for a more "romantic feel" or downstairs for a more homestyle feel. I am a little disappointed though as the menu has changed and no longer has filet mignon on it. The Korean steak- which has been sious vide for 72 hours, is a good replacement though. Literally melts in your mouth. The gentlemen who was our server seemed a little bothered tonight but that's okay, we're all human, I hope his day is better tomorrow, he was still very kind and respectful towards us though just wasn't in a "talkative" mood. The seabass was very flaky and sauce was divine, definitely not too spicy. This is our yearly ritual to come here on Jan 4th as this was the first restaurant my spouse and I really connected at and decided we wanted to be apart of each other's lives forever. Thank you redfish for many years of food and service and for many more to come!!
This place was a pleasant surprise, the menu is huge and everything we tasted was full of flavor and great. I can't wait to go back and try more items. The surf and turf roll was one of the best sushi rolls I never knew I liked, lol. The Korean steak was also amazing. I can't wait to get back and try more items from this little jem of a restaurant. the service was really outstanding, also.
Absolutely amazing!! The food, service & the experience was a night to remember. If you have not been here, you're missing out 😎😎
If you want the best most fresh sushi, or the best entrees like Chilean Sea Bass or Salmon or amazing Shrimp or the best steak, this is your spot! The owners are the best people ever.
Food was amazing, service and staff were really nice. We came for my sister's birthday and they made it a great one. I had the surf and turf roll and it was delicious. My Sister had the flounder and it was so flavorful. Foodie approved!!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Everything about this restaurant is very good. While looking at the menu the owner Mr David welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. This food is so delicious and fresh that I enjoyed every bite. He is so nice and informative about his food. He gave us a complimentary dessert made by his wife that blew me away with flavor. "Bigger fish means better flavor", says the owner and I believe him. I am coming back as soon as possible.
5 plus stars! I can not say enough about the taste sensation of this food! Best seafood in Houston! My salmon was the best i have ever eaten! Customer service was great as well! Try this place out!
Deceptively good... the portions were perfect. There were 4 of us and we were all full for 6+ hours after eating there. One of our group continues to talk about their food and how good it was. The only criticism I have is the blue lights on the fish tank. If there was a way to make it less intense or block it from traveling past the tank that would be better.
It was my first visit for dinner, the food was delicious. Mr. Chang shared a few recommendations along with his signature dish. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for dinner. The selection of food is-amazing, the staff very friendly and the environment very relaxing. We will return soon. Thank you!
Reviews were not wrong, food did not disappoint. Fried calamari appetizer was close to perfection. Fried shrimp entree was divine. Seafood pasta was a hit. Sushi all looked amazing. Will have to go back and try that and drinks. Happy hour menu looked good, but got there too late. Be prepared for a bit of a wait.
This is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in North Houston. It’s always a nice experience with the servers and of course with the food. I definitely recommend you to come and try anything you like from the menu because you’ll enjoy it. Most of the times I get some Calamari as the Appetizer and then I get an Entrée and an order of the sushi rolls (anyone I’m in the mood for). I know it’s a lot of food but let me tell you, it’s worth it. Thank you guys and keep up the good work!
Amazing food & beyond excellent service with a personal touch!!! The plating of the food was exquisite…like they say you eat with your eyes! ♥️💖♥️💖♥️
I think Redfish is one of the best restaurants in the area. Chef David always has a new item for the menu while keeping the classic. I have been going there for 20 years and have never been disappointed. This is not a chain restaurant, I love that. If you want to help support locally owed and operated restaurants. Redfish is your place. I do not receive discounts or compensation for my reviews.
This is one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is delicious, and the service is always fast, friendly, and attentive. On this trip, Randy was our server again. We always enjoy having him as he is friendly and very attentive. We started with the clam chowder, which was wonderful. Plenty of clams and vegetables. My main course was the Seafood Morney. The lobster was perfectly cooked with crab stuffing that had a deliciously unique flavor. The sauce was fantastic, and they gave you plenty of bread to sop it up. We finished with the Mango key lime pie with coconut crust, which was sweet and tangy. The atmosphere is cozy if they seat you downstairs and a bit nic3r upstairs. We definitely will be coming back.
Best service and quality of food in the area. Our waitress was amazing even though I didn't get a name to shout out! Great experience and nice hidden gem.
My wife and I had dinner with friends at this resturant and the food was very delicious. The resturant was comfortable had an amusing portrait wall upstairs.
There is nothing quite like going to a restaurant and being blown away by the quality of food, the customer friendly service and the perfect aesthetics! Went here on a Sunday right when they re-open up at 4/5 I don't remember. Walked in and was greeted fairly loudly, Im sure the people on the highway could hear the joy from the owners mouth lol. We had a choice of where to be seated and our waitress whose name was "Bella " was great. There should be a training video on documenting her attention to detail and she actually cared about my party and I having a stellar experience. The food was 6/5 and so were the drinks, I was tossed between two options but later picked the Seafood Mornay - A Lobster Tail with crabmeat Stuffing, Scallops, Shrimp and Salmon with Tomato, Mushroom, and Spinach; baked with Parmesan and Gruyere Mornay Sauce 🤤 I don't really need to write anything else, if you've made it this far, you have already made your decision lol. Protip - ask about the Ahi Tuna and Watermelon
Casual dining downstairs and fine dining upstairs. Our food came out SUPER fast (whole dining experience from ordering to paying the check was about an hour). The service was amazing (shout out to our server Nick!) and the chef came to our table a couple of times. Once to check on us, and another time to offer us a complimentary. Complimentary appetizer. The quality and quantity of food you get is outstanding. For two days, two full seafood entres and two alcoholic drinks, out meal was well under $120. The meals where rich and filling and the atmosphere was upscale but welcoming.
I've been by here several times and the atmosphere is absolutely A1 I have not ever dealt with a manager or a staff member that was salty and made me regret going there y'all keep up the good work. The people that work in the actual sushi bar area that make your food always have a smile on their face and I hope that it stays that way Mom and Pop restaurants like this are becoming a Dying Breed and let's keep this one alive.
I give this only 5 stars because there arent higher numbers available. This is hands down some of the best seafood ive had IN MY LIFE!!! The wait staff are the perfect balance of attendant vs giving privacy to enjoy the meal. The atmosphere is DELIGHTFUL! The menus contain so many amazing options that it is truly difficult to narrow down the specific masterpiece you wish to treat yourself with. And every single dish ive tried here was made with such fresh, exquisite ingredients and the closest attention to detail. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your enemy's friends and family! Come try anything on the menu, and you will be happy you did.
Went to Red Fish tonight and the couple next to us had driven all the way from Katy to get a Surf and Turf roll. We had to try one. It was delicious. Great appetizers, great old fashioned and generous rolls.
The food was so great that I didn't even get a picture! 🤣 Amazing service and the owner is so friendly. 😊 I felt right at home! You must try their sushi!!! Every roll I've tried has been really good! 10 out of 10 would recommend! 👌
Visiting here from Florida, but had heard about the Red Fish Seafood Grill for months and was tickled to finally able to dine here. Had their tempura shrimp cocktail, which was very filling! The salmon looked delicious and their chocolate cake was decadent. So wish we had this restaurant in Sarasota area! Will definitely return on my next trip to Houston!
A unique and weirdly fascinating hidden gem. This place is known for having extraordinary fresh fish served (mostly) like typical American seafood and also some Asian flair and somehow it is all great. The place is held together by an owner who loves everything on the menu and just wants to share it with the world, the price is fair and it’s nearly impossible to not find something that catches your interest.
My first visit to this place was absolutely incredible! Every single thing I tasted was far above my expectations. I can't even place the spices which made up the two different glazes drizzled on the asparagus, but it was the best I've ever had. The service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Bella was a wealth of information and sunshine. I will absolutely be visiting again very soon. Thank you for being truly excellent!
We had a large group of around 20 people and Chef Chang did not disappoint!! This was our first visit for the vast majority of us and we were very impressed with the food, BUT even more so with the service!! Chef Chang came out many times to not only describe the dishes, but to tell us the story or inspiration behind them. We tried many appetizers. All of them had a different flavor profile, which I appreciated. I highly recommend the Ravioli. It was really special. I personally ordered the Chang's Special Sea Bass for my entrée based on his recommendation and it was delicious. The sauce truly took the fish to the next level. It's easy to see why his restaurant has been in business for 30 years!! I'll definitely be back!!
The Brussels sprouts were absolutely the best I’ve ever had—crisp, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The ravioli was unique and packed with bold flavors. The shrimp and crab entrée was delicious and generously portioned—definitely great for sharing. We also tried the King of the Sea, which was unusual in the best way and bursting with flavor. Everything was beautifully presented, and the hospitality was truly top-notch. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish!
One of the best, consistently great restaurants in the area. First time there I met the owner and chef, who is very friendly and you can tell his passion for food. I have not had a meal that was not at least 7.5/10. Give this place a shot, you will not be disappointed Salmon au gratin (what a great concept) Tuna on watermelon (fresh and savory) Pork chops (can cut it with a spoon)
We had a fantastic meal of Mediterranean Sea Bass and a ravioli entree that was out of this world. The wine was perfectly chilled and the waitress kept our glasses filled. Desert was really good, tiramisu and a chocolate pudding dish. This is our new spot. Great meal for a good price and great service. The atmosphere is casual. We will be back to try everything else!
Came early, was waiting outside where it was pouring rain and we were let in early. Fantastic service. Was very grateful. Food was delicious. I had the Crunchy Roll minus the jalapeño & hot sauce. Amazing. Staff was attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back and definitely recommend. Owner very pleasant as well. Thank you for the wonderful first time experience!

Great food and service. We frequently heat there for lunch and have never been disappointed.
We have been eating here for over a decade. The food is always top-notch with a beautiful presentation! Great atmosphere and friendly staff, too!
Excellent value. The sushi was fresh and the Oysters Rockefeller wad on point. Really loved the Changs Seabass and the Ocean smoke were great dishes Service was friendly and on point.

So delicious and there is so much to choose from! The pickiest eaters will find something they'll love. The crab puff appetizer was so yummy and definitely stuffed to the nines with crab. We ate it so fast that I forgot to take a pic. The Treasures of the Sea entree was so impressive! Beautifully plated and perfectly cooked with lots of different flavors. We've added Red Fish to our special occasion rotation, can't wait to go back!
We thought Red Fish was our hidden gem but everyone in our area knows it's the best place for fresh seafood! We usually get sushi and have tried many roles. So many roles have cream cheese or brie in them which is a huge No for us. The service is always great. Eat upstairs for a quieter and well lit environment.
My first impression was that this was a casual comfortable place to grab a nice dinner and drinks. It was a little cramped downstairs but there is an upstairs that is more open. The decorating did not really match from one level to the next, but the caricatures on the walls upstairs were cute, just didn't fit the vibe at all. The staff was th star of our dinner. Attentive to our needs. In fact, we were visited by the manager and chef (guessing the owners?) Our server was great. She was personable and made a few good drink suggestions (the Tiramisu martini I heard was amazing.) The Menu.. it was way too much stuff to read through. Sushi and seafood and apps. We tried the mango salsa topped crab cakes, seared ahi tuna salad, Eel lover roll and the stuffed mushrooms. The roll was amazing, everything fresh and it had 10 pieces. The fish, tuna, crab and unagi was plentiful and well worth the $15. The crab cakes were good, but a little bland. They needed seasoning and some acid. The Ahi Tuna salad almost was really good. The ginger dressing was the star. I think if maybe the tuna was sliced traditionally in thin slices and layered over the salad with maybe a ponzu sauce, it would have been killer. It came with a couple fried tortilla chips and a bread roll. Honestly, save the money, ditch the roll and add a little sea salt to the chips! Last, the stuffing in the mushroom was okay but the outside was weird and the sauce tastes like cream of mushroom soup from a Campbell's can. Maybe they were frozen? My suggestion, remove 30% of the menu and really take these things from good to amazing. The flower was beautiful but not edible. Use edible flowers. And, sorry, but look at those mushrooms compared to the other food, just, no need for these. I'm giving a solid 4 stars, amazing staff, and clean. If you are looking for a chill place where you can have some sushi rolls fresh and some bomb drinks, this is your place.
If you are looking for a large selection of seafood I would definitely try out this place they have a good wide variety. They have two areas of seating the upper level and ground level, I recommend sitting in the upper level as it is nicer than the 1st floor. We had fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms for our appetizers. Both appetizers were good ,but not outstanding. They serve sushi here and that is what I ordered. Just so you are aware if you like sushi like I do it may take a while to decide on which one as they have a lot of options. I ended up getting the Silver King roll. The roll was a generous size which was great. Maybe others may like that roll ,but I was a bit disappointed the fish on top wasn't very tasty and the roll needed more sweet sauce on top, however the cream cheese and avocado inside were the best part to me. I really enjoyed their dessert, chocolate créme de pan. Overall I enjoyed the food here I gave it a four star because the food I ordered was good ,but not something I would rave about. Aside from that I was very happy with the service, our waiter Will was great! I would like to come again and try more from their menu.
The food was ok. Nothing to write home about. The drinks were strong! We tried the bourbon peach, hurricane, and watermelon mule. The mule is better for the light drinkers the other two will put hair on your chest. The service all around was superb! From the waitress Aleisha to the timeliness of the food! Request her as your waitress and you won’t be disappointed. So, even though the food wasn’t the best in flavor or moistness, the customer service made our day! These are just some of the pics.
Nice cozy place. Food was very tasty. Only thing I would change is the amount of sauce they put on the branzino. The fish was drowned in teryaki and chipotle sauce. Owner was very friendly. Very clean bathroom. Sushi was great and huge portion.
Very sneaky. Great place for some fresh seafood. Sushi rolls are ginormous. Shrimp cocktail appetizer is different and the seafood is fresh.
We stopped by here for lunch without knowing anything about it. We were hungry and didn’t want a fast food place. We thought it was just a seafood place, but it’s Asian inspired. We just ordered 4 appetizers to share between myself and my husband. The sticky ribs were amazing! I don’t do ribs, but I was impressed. The chicken dumplings were full of chicken, not the usual tiny bit of filling with a lot of dough. However, they were okay, but not very flavorful. However, they were cooked well and filling. My husband ordered the cheeseburger eggrolls and he did not like them, he said they had low flavor. Our final appetizer was a shrimp cocktail, and that was also very good. They had a thin cocktail sauce that was very good, and the shrimp were cooked right with the poop line taken out! Overall, we agreed we will be back to try some more. The service was great and the owner came and talked about his food with us for a few minutes. He was proud to say everything was fresh, and we believe that claim. Give it a try.
Older establishment but the food was good. They have a very large selection of sushi rolls and nigiri and sashimi. Had the blackened redfish which was good although not as blackened as I am used to…

Food is ok but it's a little dirty doesn't \nFeel clean. For. 4 of us the bill can out \nAbout $160.00 No drink alcohol \nYou be the judge
I came here recommended by a friend and the food just came short to me. The sushi that was ordered(Shaggy dog and California roll) were visually tasty still ok though. but when it came to the actually flavor it was bland. The shrimp inside the shaggy dog was rough. Service was great! My waitress was really friendly and welcoming.
Stopped in for Happy Hour. Very strange mishmosh set up. It seems there are several seperate seating situations. All with there own vibe downstairs near the fish tank was almost a new england clam shack vibe then a few steps away was a sushi bar. I did not see it but website shows pictures of a white table cloth dining room. The menu leans towards those prices but from the hostess stand on would not suggest that. There was also no hostess when we arrived. It was not a welcoming vibe.We arrived at 4 :30 pm but no one seemed ready. All we wanted were a couple drinks.
BEWARE: ITEMS on the menu are NOT made with the described ingredients! Was just informed by an employee. You will be paying for items you are NOT receiving!
The upstairs is very nice and quiet however, The wall decor was very uninviting to me as a black person. The wall is covered with people dining and only 1 black face and he was the piano player Ray Charles. I didn't want to come but my husband wanted to try after months of him asking I agreed. I've learned when you pass by a place at lunch time and there are no cars that is a sign of a restaurant that you won't enjoy. Anyway, how do you not fry an oyster? Drop it in grease and fry it simple. I am allergic to fish however my husband is not and usually I can go to a restaurant and get fries shrimp and oysters but nope not here chicken which I'm not a fan of and steak sigh we're the choices. Even the shrimp cocktail had fish in it . SEAFOOD pasta also has fish in it. Well im at a seafood restaurant so what did i expect. So we ordered calamari which was bland and flavorless. Adding lemon and salt didn't help it. It was very dry also. I settled on an order of French fries how do u not put seasoning on fries.... when asking the servers for seasoning they looked at me like I was speaking french. oh did I mention NO SWEET TEA IN TEXAS🤔, HOWS THAT? Bring your own seasoning
Food and service were fantastic. Had the Mediterranian Sea Bass. Exceptionally flavorful and nicely presented. For the price, I expected a side dish. Not! $45 for a very small lunch entree, one glass of "house" pinot grigio, a split $10 Frangellica chocolate mousse that was dense, dry, tough, with no Frangellica flavor, and served in a recycled squatty jar with a threaded top. My dining partner had the exact same thing - $90 total, including tax and 20% gratuity. We both left still hungry. Atmosphere is quiet, at least upstairs. Downstairs was very noisy. Upstairs has no restroom, a major inconvenience! I was told the place hasn't been updated in their 22 year existance, and it shows. It has zero curb appeal, and the interior isn't any better. Too many negatives. I won't go back.
My server, Chandler, was attentive and engaging. Upon asking me how the crab puffs and Silver King something or another sushi rolls were, she handled my negative comments graciously. The sushi portions are very generous for the money as well as the crab puffs. Unfortunately, the crab puffs were dense, heavy and flavorless. The mustard sauce provided would have overpowered what little taste they had. I ordered cooked sushi, afterwards. It was like a clump of mystery seafood. I couldn't distinguish one ingredient from the other in it. All in all, I didn't enjoy any of the items. I might return for different menu items, but no time soon.
Tried to have dinner here tonight. We we seated quickly and they took our drink order. Just an iced tea and a water. Chef came by and was very friendly. After waiting 15 minutes for our drinks an…

I have been coming here for years and it is usually good but this time something was completely different. We came for my birthday dinner with a group of 8 and ordered over $250 worth of food …
Do not go here - food was horrible and not fresh. Flounder was NOT flounder and crab meat was old. Fish was mushy and old. Had to stay home from work with a terrible stomach ache
Stopped by to enjoy beer and food. Beer was great but the red fish signature entree was extremely underwhelming. The dish entailed fish, potatoes, ham, and crab. The fish was very ordinary and the crab was mashed in a 6 oz cup. For a $38 meal, this has to be one of the most underwhelming restaurant dishes I've ever had. Beware.
I made the one hour drive to be able to experience similar menu items to Blue Onyx which is no longer open. My family and I were the first customers when the restaurant opened for dinner. While our waiter was great, the chef David Chang made a point to mingle and converse with other patrons and not my table of three. Despite me coming there and inquiring about items that were at the previous restaurant and generously ordering food and beverages, Chef Chang did not speak or offer the warm interactions that he did the other later arriving patrons. The only conclusion that I can come to is that he chose not to offer a Black family the same service. In this climate and economy, I am more mindful of whom I support and would recommend that nobody else does either.
The rice was old rice and not sticky rice? I am not sure how to explain how bad the rice was… the roll I ordered a Rainbow Roll which was supposed to be snow crab, looks like it’s mostly filled with old rice and an imitation crab stick. This is the first time I have ever been served day old rice at a sushi bar and it’s really not something you can hide. Fish was okay but old rice is a sin against sushi. Also a very noticeable unpleasant fish odor when you walk in… I’ve worked in a sushi restaurant and this is not normal smell in my experience.
