Been coming here for a while and I recently came for my birthday dinner. My boyfriend & my family love this place! The lights are dim and their food is well cooked and delicious! This is a perfect spot for a date as well. It’s a bit loud when it gets busy, but it overall is really an awesome place yay!

The people here are great. Really nice atmosphere, almost feels like you are outdoors. The food is good. Lots of local folks eating here. Been here for over 40 years and some of the staff have been there for over 30 years so you know they are taking care of their customers right. They have fairly good size bar area with sports playing on several tvs. Seems like a lot of customers know the servers and each other. Has a great homey feel.

Mario’s is a wonderful Mexican restaraunt that is great for families and everyone The cozy, lively atmosphere and cozy seats make it fun for everyone. The chips are crispy and it’s hard to stop eating them. We would recommend all the food and the tavern side is always busy with lots of nice drinks. We love bringing friends here Thanks for keeping this wonderful Huntington Beach treasure

Mario's is a local hangout that serves up great traditional Mexican food. You can always tell the quality down to the salsa. The service is fast and efficient. I, personally, order no seasoning on my shrimp tacos and they are perfect. My son has enjoyed burritos, casadillas and dessert that he has loved. Great service and food in a cozy, comfortable old school booth setting with visual interests and warmth. Highly recommend 👍 Update: We've been to Mario's a number of times and the food is consistently good and the service is very good. Love the cozy booths to relax after a long day working. Added pictures of the gorgeous shrimp tostada (no salt requested) salad. My son loves just about everything but especially enjoys the servers who we have come to know. Long tenured which speaks well for the restaurant inner workings.

Best restaurant ever. Been coming here since I was a little kid. Quality of food has never changed! It is by far my favorite Mexican food. Staff is super friendly, service is fast. Chips and salsa are great. Prices are reasonable and plates are plentiful. Highly recommend.

Good meal here, not authentic in my experience but decent nonetheless. The chips were good and the salsa was just average. The cheese enchilada was good with good enchilada gravy. The taco was pretty pedestrian, the beans were pretty good but nothing special.

Good times. Sat at bar with locals. One of those places locals love to go on a weekly basis. Good drinks and appetizers with a nice happy hour, all at very reasonable prices.

The employees were very nice and helpful. The salsa could have been spicier and less like tomato paste. The fajitas could use more spice and/or seasonings. The back room was cool, but the front of the restaurant was really warm. So, ask to sit in the back, if possible.

I come here often but after today i'm done. I've ordered a flautas, when i got home it had nothing on it. Dry and plain. I called and was told i had to request guacamole or sour cream. Really? At an extra charge when it should already have some sort of topping, or salsa. Nice way to gouge customers. Maybe since they are always busy they are able to get away with it. I ended making my own guacamole.

I almost walked to the front of the restaurant to get help but luckily someone stopped by for payment.

Carnitas were very dry and lacking flavor. Chicken enchiladas were alright, just average. Rice was really good, beans were meh. Guac that came with carnitas was fresh but bland. Food was quick but long wait to order after seating and didn't really get checked on til late in meal. The aesthetic is okay, typical touristy Mexican restaurant vibe, but also a bit dirty (bench seats and carpet).

We have been coming here for over 20 years and it's really kind of sad to see it go downhill so badly with the customer service the quality of the food in overall atmosphere. My daughter surprised us to take us here for lunch today and unfortunately it was probably the worst service my food was not what I ordered I had to send it back twice my granddaughter's chicken tenders were ice-cold her fries were hard as rocks and ice cold and my daughter actually never ordered as she was very upset that we waited over 25 minutes for the server to even come over as they were we're not busy we were seated in a section alone and sat for 20 minutes and I asked two people to get our server he came over like I was the problem asking for help do better Mario's we won't be back but we'll make sure we tell our friends and family who still live here not to come in anymore either

Went here and just like the reviews said that Weren’t good the salsa is ketchup salsa with spices to. The food I got the shredded beef chimichanga and beans and rice. The meat was bland and just tasted like meat. Beans and rice were ok had a kind weird taste to them. Even the water tasted like tap water. Service was good they came by to check on us and fill up our water when they saw it was low. But won’t be going back
