Vibrant tavern/pub feel in a Nora strip mall. Service was very attentive even with our large group. Decent beer selection, and they offer rotating drink specials by day. Pork tenderloin was good, wouldn’t put it in the top tier in Indy but quite respectable. Salad was good, although the blackened salmon was overcooked and did not have a ton of flavor. Prices are a little on the higher side for this type of place but not offensively high.
This is one of my favorite low key places in town. My favorite chicken fingers and salad (double nickle salad) in town. I also frequently get the sliders - more recently they have been cutting a full burger into 4 pieces. I hope they return to standard sliders as I miss the texture of individual slider patties. The food is consistently delicious, staff are attentive, friendly, and chill, and the drinks are great. Excellent weekday happy hour specials (half priced appetizers, etc).
The food nd service is amazing. They never disappoint. I have the spinach con queso and added meat and it was amazing
Excellent Turkey club with fries and Fish and chips. The meal was served nice and hot with great amount of food portions. Excellent service from Levi. He was very attentive and friendly with all the tables he waited on. I highly recommend this place for dinner. We had such a wonderful dinner here, we came back a second night and had delicious cheeseburgers and fries. Great server Drew was very attentive with our meal.
Cute little corner nook of an establishment. Very cozy feeling inside and has a well laid out floor plan. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was prompt, dedicated, and focused on her tables. Food was excellent, taste and presentation. Prices are on the high side. I ordered the Hoosier daddy pork tenderloin. It came with fries. The tenderloin was just a little bigger than the bun. The tenderloin wasn't too big it needed to be cut in half compared to the majority of the tenderloins I've ordered over my years from different restaurants. My meal was $16 rounded up. 4 adults ate with 3 sodas. No appetizers. Bill came to around $74. $15 in tip.
So I stopped in for the first time because I have been searching for good places with great happy hours. The bar was quite lovely, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was super friendly and attentive at the bar (shout out Brandon and Brandon!) The Tuesday happy hour specials include half price bottles of wine, and I tried a red blend and took the bottle home. It was very smooth and very pleasant. I tried several things off the appetizers menu which were so half price, excellently prepared and served. The Brussels sprouts with lemon aoli were amazing, will be back!
Buffalo chicken sandwich was outstanding. Really does live up to its reputation. Will come back just for this sandwich. Fries were decent but could have been crispier. Brussel sprout appetizer was very good as well. Atmosphere was very nice, service was fast and friendly. Overall great experience.
Stopped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised! We got our drinks and food in short order, and the food was absolutely amazing. Service slowed when we were ready to leave, but it could’ve easily been something out of our servers control. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend!
Great food, great staff and great prices! We ordered the Sliders entree, and Trio Combo. The turkey club sandwich was almost as delicious as the salad. We finished off the meal with the skillet brownie. The executive chef delivered it to our table and made sure is wasn’t as hot as lava so my son could dig in right away. If you stop by, ask for Laurie. You won’t get better service in Carmel
20AUG23 - Dinner again while visiting my son. Still good, I will be back. 😎 21AUG22 - Had dinner here with my son . I had the breaded pork tenderloin and he had the cheese burger. This has to be one of the best BPTs I've had. Not too thick not too thin, tasty breading, juicy. Just delicious‼️ My son reports that the burger was one of the best he's ever had too. Great place, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the Indy the area.
Perfect restaurant for ANY OCCASION. Amazing food and I mean fresh great produce amazing meats this place has it all. Clean all around. Bathrooms clean restaurant clean kitchen that can be seen from floor clean Bar clean Staff friendly attentive and accurate we told our waitress one time that we didn’t want mishrooms and got our drinks come back and said ok so no mushrooms she actually took the time to listen intently to what we said. And then when we tried to give her accolades she simply said Well I should be able to do that. It’s just part of my job. A very positive and refreshing outlook. Critics may say well yes Leah that’s what servers do and I would say while that is the hope not all wait staff and kitchen staff are always as good as the people at the rusty bucket are. Vegetarian options Vegan options Sports on tvs Dishes are in order left to right Philly cheesesteak Tenderloin The best blue cheese salad with house vinaigrette I mean FRESH 12 inch individual pizzas A little everything for everyone even kids
I had a great experience at the Rusty Bucket. Tge group I was with a frequent visitors and live The food was delicious. I had a sirloin steak that was cooked to perfection. The green beans were pretty tasty as well. The fried pickle were delicious. Courtland did a great job serving our table. He was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is beautiful. It definitely has a nice ca vibe. I would definitely come back to the Rusty Bucket!
This place is GREAT! We ventured in the first time after painting some pottery nearby. The food was so good we came back the next weekend when we picked up the pottery. Sit at the bar if you can. We have met Shea, Josh, and Kat. They were not only sure to tell us their names, but asked us our names and called us by them the entire time. This is a true neighborhood style bar with customers coming in for "the usual" and fantastic food. There is always somebody coming in for a to go order, which again speaks to the food quality. I have a feeling Kristy and Dan will be making the 60 minutes drive once a month or so to enjoy the Rusty Bucket. Fish and chips, sliders, the bucket burger, philly cheesesteak, and the Caesar salads have yet to leave us disappointed. You can't go wrong here.
I went in about 1pm on a Friday. They were pretty busy. I was amazed how quickly my food came out. I devoured the Mr. Plot burgers with onion rings! When I say HOT FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!! Just that!! 10 out of 10 recommended!
This is our 2nd time eating at this awesome restaurant. Our server, Levi, was fantastic! Fish and chips, buffalo chicken, and hamburger sliders were all cooked to perfection. Request Levi for service and enjoy the meal!
Kiddo decided on The Rusty Bucket for celebration meal. She had The Sicilian (no peppers or onions). I had the BPT. Both were phenomenal. Pizza had a great chewy dough and I'm a big fan of their sauce. BPT......the breading, oh my. Crunchy, so much flavor. Good ratio of meat. Fries came out cold, mentioned it to our waitress and she brought me new ones. They were phenomenal too. I didn't even need ketchup or mayo!!! Atmosphere was laid back, TVs playing sports. Music lightly playing. We will definitely be back.
Alright, so I just picked this place off the maps because it was on my way home from the airport. It was probably the best restaurant that I've stumbled across. I got the Sicilian pizza and some kind of desert. She said chocolate something and...That was enough for me to order it. You definitely get a good portion for what you pay. As for quality, it almost tastes like my grandma is locked in the kitchen baking as much love as she can into every bite. I would say take my review with a grain of salt, but the food is good enough without any extra seasonings.
The Rusty Bucket was recommended by friends, and we weren't sure what to expect from a regional chain of neighborhood bars. We were extremely pleasantly surprised, the food was amazing! I had the beef Stroganoff because my mom used to make it when we were growing up and it's not very common, you just don't see it on many menus. This was one of the best dishes I have ever had, hats off to the chef! Rich, creamy, flavorful sauce with plenty of fresh mushrooms and fall-apart tender beef. Even though it was a good-sized portion and I could have save some leftovers, I inhaled the whole thing and contemplated ordering a second helping... seriously! When we're back in the area, it will be difficult to order anything else off the menu because I can't see myself ordering anything but the beef Stroganoff.
Overall: The Rusty Bucket hits the spot if you're looking for a humble meal at a neighborhood spot. The good: I came in craving a pork tenderloin and they certainly didn't disappoint. There's a ton of good options on the menu, no matter what you're in the mood for, but the tenderloin is well-breaded but not overly so, and the portion size was perfect. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, even though it's primarily a bar with TVs everywhere. The service was friendly and attentive as well. The not-so-good: Not much honestly, the fries could've been a little better and the food a tad hotter, but I'm picking needles. Food/drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10
Happy hour is from 3-6 with half priced apps and pizzas, plus a $5 burger. They have daily specials on drinks as well! I got the mushroom pizza, my husband got the $5 juicy Lucy burger, my mother in law got the tomato basil soup, and my toddler got the Mac and cheese with fruit. We also got drinks- the draft margarita, draft rum punch, and red sangria and they were OK. A bit on the pricy side though for drinks.
One server plus he was the bartender, but he was on it! Drinks were delicious and so was the food. Pork tenderloin tasted like it fresh and not frozen. I definitely will be back!
My kid loved this place and the food was great. We ate here three days in a row when we were in town and it was good each time. Tons of options.
Came up to Indy for post op check up & wanted to try something new. Our family picked something close to where our original destination was. Ended up at Rusty Bucket. Everything we tried was delicious with great portions. Price fits portions & quality. If I lived up here I'd definitely go again to try more. We tried the meatloaf platter, fish n chips, and cheese pizza from main menu. For appetizers we had the chicken fingers. It was all very tasty. Server was nice young man who didn't hesitate to accommodate our 4 top. We are kinda needy with young children. Would definitely recommend!
I pop in here a lot when I'm staying with my mom, usually for happy hour, which is a fantastic value. We went last night to celebrate an anniversary and Tyree was WONDERFUL! We decided to try some new items - I've never had the wings or pizza here but they were both fantastic. Add to that Tuesday half price wine bottles, and it was a bargain to boot!
The Cheese Blanket Nachos alone are worth the visit. Absolutely killer. Great service, reasonable prices, a great value though.
My friends and I were in town for GenCon and we decided to give this place a shot. Honestly, we were pretty skeptical at first, becasue we are from Illinois and the menu looked like it was food we could get back home. When we arrived we were quickly greeted and sat and our server, Sarah, was amazing. She was very engaging and excellent to talk to. The food was amazing! We ordered the Nachos as an appetizer and they were so good! For meals we ordered a cheesesteak, a pork tenderloin, and a Sicilian Pizza, all really excellent!! Highly recommend this place!
Fantastic place to eat and drink. All the servers and bartenders are extremely friendly and welcoming. Food is top notch.
Let's start with the service we received on our first trip to the bucket. Tyree may actually be the best service provider of all time. His positivity and great timely service was worth well more than 5 stars. I hope someone reading this will let him know what a superstar he is. As for the food - my wife and I started out with the Cheese Blanket Nacho Chips - wow...certainly enough that if you and a friend wanted to only have that - it will fill you up - and it had lots of fun ingredients - we chose the beef version - very tasty and served warm with lots of melted cheese on top and some peppers to spice things up. As main dishes - my wife had the Fish sandwich and onion rings and I had the Pork Tenderloin. The pork tenderloin - big enough to share and so very yummy with a nice crunch. My wife's fish was great - or at least I think that is what caused the momentary silence after the food arrived. I had hoped to try the desserts - they have a bread pudding that sounded really good - but I was really stuffed. In any case - I hope to not have to wait long before we try our second round of meals there. A wonderful location at Ditch and 86th street - definitely worth a visit.
Visited for the 1st time yesterday. The service and food were great. Until I went to the restroom . The hostess came in to tidy up the women’s restroom she wiped the water off the counter with her bare hand (not with a paper towel). With her actual hand she then, went to refill the soap dispenser which was a purell had sanitizer bottle that was being used as a dispenser ( a small handheld bottle). Instead of holding the soap spout end to refill she held the end that goes into the soap to dispense the soap. Then she proceeds to clean the mirror she wets her bare hands and flicks water on the mirror and proceeds to wipe the mirror down. 😳this all happened around 6:45 pm With all of the viruses and covid I was very surprised by the carelessness that was displayed.
I believe Al was our server and was incredibly attentive. I had never been there before, and he recommended the Cubano, which was excellent (the mustard was a little overpowering, but the quality of the meat was superb). We also did a plate of nachos. The atmosphere was fine, I'm just not that into sports. It was a warm-ish day outside, but I felt very comfortable inside (not too hot or cold). I look forward to coming back!
We had 6 people in iur group, and all our food was fresh and delicious! We had tacos, hamburgers, quesadillas, salad, and tenderloin, all of it very tasty. Our server was attentive and and the food arrived quickly. I highly recommend the Rusty Bucket!
Great place. Handled our larger than expected group (21 people, we were expecting 15) without issue. The food was very good. The service was excellent. The atmosphere overall was great.
A group of us visit the area yearly and this has become our go-to place! We love the food and the atmosphere. Service has always been great, even when they are busy. It's saying something when we are all looking forward to meeting at The Rusty Bucket!
Enjoyed our experience for lunch at the Rusty Bucket. Although a couple of us just ordered the soup and salad, it was still great. The sirloin chili and french onion soups hit the spot. The Double Nickle salads were a nice suprise. The double stack quesadilla was a hit. The service was fantastic.
Finally got a chance to go to this restaurant with some friends. It is a hole in the wall place. Seems like a lot of local people have gone for years. I enjoyed being there and the food was good. I did notice that the noise level was up making it hard to talk in a normal manner. Sometimes this is just the way it goes. Definitely worth a visit. I will give them a second chance.
My wife and I visited here and enjoyed! We shared a french onion soup, fish and chips, and a Cuban sandwich. The Cuban sandwich was spot on, fairly authentic, could have used more mustard , but you can always get extra on the side. The fish and chips were okay, a lightly beer battered cornmeal-based breading. Breading. The flavor was good, but the breading fell off of the fish so it was kind of messy. Not as good as flower-based beer breaded batter. The fries we got with our meals were better than average, tasty, no complaints. The French onion soup was really good, plenty of onions in flavor and a good amount of melty cheese to go with it. We'll get this one again to start! The place was packed on a Tuesday night and the service was very attentive; didn't come too often or little, perfect! The atmosphere is all right, nothing really outstanding here. However, the place is clean and well attended to which is a must in my opinion.
We're regulars here. The service is always spot on, and I love the vibe in here! Although it's definitely a neighborhood bar, we've never felt unwelcome in the least, we've always been treated like family. I'm a big fan of their fish and chips and their breaded tenderloin, as well as their burgers. My wife loves their pizza! We are regulars for a reason.
So I came to this place today (3/12/2018) for lunch and let me start by saying that I liked it. The waitress recommended I get the pork tenderloin. It was very good and the fries were good as well. I WILL BE COMING BACK.
This place as some of the best fries pickles I've ever had! Really good buffalo chicken sandwich and breaded tenderloin too.
Friendly service, good food that came out quick. Large draft beer menu.
A hidden gem on the near NW side the 'Bucket' is a surprisingly open, but intimate space. I met up with someone for an early lunch and noticed there were other casual pairs as well. Whether a business lunch or a family dinner RB can handle it. I had a burger. And, RB is one of the few Indy restaurants/bar that serve sweet potato fries. A plus in my book! The burger to bun ratio was just right, and I had a great portion of the fries. The service was quick, but informative. And there was great communication between the host and the server before we sat. I'd come back a second time for certain.
Dined with friends while watching a football game. Had a very good French onion soup followed pizza which was also good. We tried several house mixed drinks which also hit the spot.
I love the Salmon salad I could eat it everyday. The atmosphere is friendly, and customer service is inviting!
Decent place for a beer and a meal. Staff was super inviting, and the food was pretty good. Great atmosphere, too.
Typical bar food. It’s good not great. This is a good place to grab a bite to eat or drink. It can get loud. They do have a small private room which is great if you’re a multi generational family because it’s not as loud.
Stopped in here for the first time late (8pm) on a Monday night. We were seated quickly and the food came out quickly as well. The food was good, but not outstanding. I’d say a slight step above something like Texas Roadhouse. Might be a “depends on the menu item” kind of thing. Chicken fingers were definitely above average, but not in the league with the best I’ve had. And my mother in law loved her salad. My burger was pretty basic though, and the fries were ok. Atmosphere felt cramped and overly busy, not in the sense that there was a ton of people, just a lot going on visually and audibly. To many TVs for such a small place, and the bar takes up a very significant amount of the dining area. Our service was at best a 3-star. The sever was nice, but not attentive, even though the place wasn’t busy. I ended up having to go find them for a check after a lengthy wait. Bathrooms were super nice though. A+
Fish sandwich was not up to par with the normal fare served at RB. Overdone, dry and a small piece of fish on a small bun. Fries were old. Onion rings overcooked and dry. Margaritas good!
I got the quesadilla. It was good, nothing outstanding and pretty pricey for what you get. But that doesn’t mean it was bad either. The fried pickles were amazing though. Our server was awesome!!! Don’t get liquor or speciality drinks unless you want to pay for the price of a bottle for a 2 ounce pour. Beer seemed to be priced decent still. Overall a good casual place to watch sports and hang out
I got the chicken quesadilla and it is the most bland food I've ever had. The chicken looks like canned chicken, there's zero spices or even salt used, and it pretty much just tastes like dirty grill it was cooked on.
Atmosphere is nice. Regular sports bar feel. Waitress was very nice. Let’s talk about this fish and chips that I was suggested… Two pieces of freezer to fryer fish. Definitely not fresh.. over cooked. Fries hot cold and warm… a mix of flavors.. bottom line, not even close to worth $15.99… I’m just saying. I could have went to Buffalo Wild Wings if I wanted poor quality food. This will be my last visit. No thanks.
