Xi'an Kitchen is known for its authentic Northern Chinese cuisine, especially the hand-pulled noodles and spicy Xian foods. Many reviewers rave about the flavor and generous portions, though some mention inconsistent service and messy takeout orders. The Rougamo and Big Plate Chicken are popular.

Tip: Order extra fresh noodles to go with the Big Plate Chicken for another meal. Be mindful of potential messiness with takeout orders.

Some real authentic Chinese northwestern dishes, worth stopping by.
Nice Shaanxi cuisine. Recommend
Good food. Need to come back to try some more...
Chow mein... this is the only place you should get beef chow main from. Hands down
Delicious authentic food!!
The food is other worldly. Love it!
Good Chinese food! Highly recommended!
Some of the most authentic northern Chinese food you can get in in SoCal
Arrived late for my pickup order. The lady is thoughtful enough to re-cook the noodle for me as it won’t taste as good. Thanks for taking the extra efforts!
We love Xi'an Kitchen -- the food is excellent and we make a point of stopping by every time we are in the San Gabriel Valley. But: the website XianKitchenca.com which claims to be their website is not -- I tried to place an online order today to support them during COVID, but when my husband arrived having driven an hour to pick it up, they could not find the order and they said they have no online ordering. So do not try to order on line -- only call them, or you will be very disappointed.
I ate here in December and have dreamed about the biang biang noodles ever since. Finally made it back to L.A. and feel in love all over again. The beef noodle soup was also amazing. I've had better dumplings - tried the shrimp/leek today - but the noodles more than made up for it.
Delicious and authentic Xi'an Chinese food. Small place, often crowded. Handmade noodles. The cold noodle dish is one of my favorite dishes. You'll need to fight for attention from the waiters, but it's worth it.
Best Da Pan Ji in all of Los Angeles! The value for the portion is great and always delicious!
Food was incredible. Service was awesome! Ana ….. thanks for the great service.🍀🍀🍀
Great food. We tried 8 different dishes. Would definitely go back
Extremely good price with real real Chinese food.
First time trying Xi'an Kitchen. My daughter treated us for lunch. Very small restaurant with huge servings. The foods are authentic Chinese cuisine. They are fast to serve. The prices are reasonable. This place is a diamond in the rough. We will definitely return to try something else on the menu.
A friend from Xi’an said this is the best and authentic Xi’an food in town. We drove an hour to get here to give it a try. This place did not disappoint us; the food is in decent amount and is very tasty. The two dishes we like the most 1. Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup 2. Lamb skewers Remember to adjust the spiciness level if you don’t want something too spicy 🌶 .
Great spicy local Xian Foods.
As someone who often gives one stars to trashy businesses, I don’t believe this restaurant deserves a sub-four rating. In fact aside from the authentic food, the service is friendly and exceptional compared to the rest of the businesses in the area. I high recommend this place to anyone interested in Chinese northwestern food.
Authentic Shanxi-style mutton offal soup. So delicious! I'll definitely come back!
The hand-pulled noodles are amazing 😍, I highly recommend this place 👌 tried many dished and all of them were good, don’t forget to try the Biang Biang noodles and Chinese burger as well
Big plate chicken is the best. Order extra fresh noodle to go. You'll have enough food for one more meal. I add in fresh cut cabbage to make it less salty.
After a quick Walk-bout around @ Powder Canyon Trailhead and worked up an appetite…. We savored for Pho and Beef Stew at one of our Fav spots. I had the Beef Stew with bread. The stew was Spicy and Hot YUMMY !! We also ordered a few Egg Rolls with Peanut Sauce (chunky) Delicious! A place you definitely need to stop by!
Delicious and Tepic Xian food. My kids like the Rougamo
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. Everything that I've had here has been delicious.

The food is always delicious. A word of advice, I would say that if you are not ready to tip for your takeout , expect to pay 70 cents less than the bill because you don’t want to break another $100 bill then maybe a takeout it’s not a such good idea after all . Tipping for takeout or dine-in keeps the restaurant open to provide jobs and delicious food .
I moved to other state 2 years ago and this restaurant is one of restaurants I really miss in LA. This is our family’s favorite restaurant.Every time I come back to LA we must have a dinner here. This restaurant never let me down. It is one of the most authentic Xi’an restaurants. The taste is great and the food material is fresh. They treat the customers thoughtfully and it is why they exist so long a time.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The oil-splashed noodles were absolutely delicious, handmade and full of authentic flavor. Definitely a great spot for traditional taste!

Fantastic Beef Noodle Soup. Very authentic and flavorful. The cold cuts were great also, but were a little pricey (we got the combo plate that comes out to $12). Despite that, I'd still recommend this restaurant.
Wow, this place is delicious! I definitely recommend getting their B2.
It’s a good place for girls gathering, our orders are good large portion for four of us. We had a lamb soup, a spicy oil noodles, a pan-fried large intestine, and a tomato egg noodles, very satisfying! And another point makes worthy to eat is the hand-shakes drink available next door! You should go with friends for a good lunch time!
Very delicious Xi’an food. Yummy and authentic. The side dishes were very well seasoned and the meat dish was very spicy but delicious. The beef noodle soup was flavorful but a little oily. How ever the lamb noodle dish was very flavorful and rich in flavor. Very delicious and will recommend.
It is a pretty good restaurant for northern Chinese food. Dining area is pretty newly renovated. It is not very crowded, at least we were there. With go try.

Have to say the food taste was just okay The bill was a bit higher than expected but you can try it once a while.
Overpriced food and average quality. Restroom is dirty
Was skeptical about trying this place due to the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the noodles. The best self-made combo is topping the biang biang noodles with their mapo tofu. The sauce on the mapo tofu is spicy and definitely spruces up the biang biang noodles to another delicious level! I wasn’t overly impressed with the Sesame pancake; it was really doughy and the two side pastes/toppings for it were strange: one was way too salty and the other had a strange taste to it. It’s located in a strip mall with other restaurants by the Home Depot on Gale Avenue in the City of Industry. Would return for the biang biang noodles and mapo tofu!

If you don’t mind your to-go order becoming a mess by the time you get home, this is your place. They packed the food loosely and wobbly—I suspect they didn’t even close the lids properly. I secured the package in my car, but when I arrived at my destination, everything had shifted, and liquid had spilled everywhere. I understand the kitchen staff might have had a long day, but given their mostly empty dining area and underwhelming rating, good luck to future customers.

It is difficult for small businesses during the COVID but it is not easy for most costumers as well. Price increased by 30%, which is understandable as I used to love their food. But today I was purely disgusted by the waitress who was making the skewers and then directly took cash in her hands. Food safety issue is the biggest concern. So No No No in future. So sorry for losing another good restaurant on my list.
Extremely slow service for mediocre food. I will try again after the staff gets more experience, but for now it's not worth the wait. 3 stars for food but 1 for service.
Two stars are for the food here. Just for the Food. Service is terribly COLD as always. I'm a dine in customer, when I asked for a small plate, the waitress served me a to go cup......

Food is good, but service is really bad. They want me to pay cash 37.70 dollars for my order. I agreed to pay cash and then I said I can give 37 dollars even. And the waitress said if you don’t want to pay the rest of 70 cents, we can take your credit card. I mean this is really rude, I wasn’t saying that I don’t wanna pay 70 cents. I just ask her can I just pay 37 dollars even. Because I don’t wanna break another 100 dollar bill and also she just said the counter closed already, cash only. The waitress talks to me with really bad attitude.
Do not go here! Place sucks, last time I was there, waiter will chat with other customer from his hometown and let you wait until he wants to serve you. I am out of ice water and they just tell me wait. Food is plain, ice water has some kind wired taste.
Bad experience and bad attitude. Ordered online but they keep saying didn’t receive and asked me to contact service, didn’t give any solution.
I would leave zero stars if I could. Really bad experience here. Food is ok, but the service, service is terrible. Hostess stand was rude. Come here if you want attitude. Not recommended.
why cash only? And the exchange rate of the renminbi against the US dollar is 7.1. Be careful of the IRS
Can’t speak much for their service or dine in experience as it was a takeout order, but the taste was just straight up not it. I don’t know if their chef had a bad day or if they were distracted, but the special hot oil noodle (油泼面) I ordered was just downright awful. Spent $15 for these noodles, and I ate maybe three bites before trashing it. All you could taste was spice and bitterness, as if the oil they used for their sauce was burnt and they just poured it over the noodles without regard. Very bad first impression, and highly unlikely to order from them again.
