Lovely, quiet cafe perfect for meeting friends, family, or just hanging out doing work. The menu is small but has a good variety of drinks and treats, options for gluten and dairy free as well. Everything seems sourced very well and handmade. I hope they eventually will have more lunch available soon, as they seem to only do it for a short period of time with only a few specials every day. Love the savory and sweet hand pies! Blueberry with lemon glaze is my favorite.

Stopped here on my way to tburg to use the bathroom and grabbed something to be polite. Owners were so kind and the bathroom as well as dining room was very welcoming. There was a bit of music going on in the kitchen to add to the vibe. Would definitely recommend going here if you feel the same way i do about personable small businesses. Ps: i dont really like pie crusts but i ordered the potato and cheddar small pie because I'm picky and it wasnt bad at all.

My goodness, what a place to stumble upon. These pies can make your day flip upside down. Come and get filled with some hearty goodness or even a sweeter delight the selections are amazing and to each their own specialty. If I ever make my way back to this part of the country, I'll be sure to pitstop here. Even the drink selections left us in awe. Amazing service to match as well!

Update: still making great food with a very friendly staff! Love this place - Couldn't even finish eating before writing this review. First time stopping in, tried the West African meat pie and potato and cheddar pie, both absolutely phenomenal comfort food, wonderful staff, couldn't be more pleased.

Friendly staff and GORGEOUS menu items that are almost too pretty to eat, but are too delicious to resist! 10/10 will be going again!! Also gluten free options that are just as pleasing to the eye!

My friend and I went here for lunch and it was wonderful. The young Mandy behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. The food was great! I highly recommended the potato and cheddar hand pie, while my friend recommends the beef curry hand pie. The food was very fresh and you could taste the quality!

Oh em gee, great pies! We were passing by and needed to pull over to not text and drive. After looking up from the phone we realized the gem we happened upon. Extremely kind, welcoming, friendly staff. Pie crust was heavenly, almost as good as my grandma's! Fillings we chose were top notch... egg, sausage, cheese & gravy, "could have eaten 4" from the boyfriend. My mushroom was awesome and the potato cheddar was like a flakey hug from peirogi. House made chai was cardamom heavy, which was definitely a huge bonus. Wished we knew about this place BEFORE the boyfriend's son graduated from Ithica College!!

Amazing gluten free handheld pies! The West African beef pie with spicy sosu kaani sauce is so so so good. I can't get enough of that sauce. I also tried the chorizo pie. The salsa verde has an excellent flavor. They offer a rotating selection of fillings so I look forward to trying more savory pies. As for the sweet ones, blueberry is so good but cherry is always my favorite. These pies are so easy to eat, you may find yourself overstuffed (but happy)!

Came across this cafe while out driving and highly recommend it! The staff are so friendly. Everything is handmade and they use local products. The seating area is very relaxing and family friendly! Water is available to help yourself to. The pies come in a variety of flavors with gluten free and vegan options available. We enjoyed the apple dessert pie so much - we ordered more! The herbal iced tea was refreshing and delicious! We are so glad we stopped at Mama Said Hand Pies Cafe!

I'm in love with this place :) I didn't know I needed a hand pie, until I tried a Mama Said hand pie! The restaurant sells high quality, hand-crafted hand pies, always offering old favorites while introducing new flavors. If you have dietary restrictions, you will be more than satisfied too; this place goes above and beyond in incorporating vegetarian, gluten-free, and other options. The ambiance is cosy and tranquil, almost like I'm visiting an old friend's house. There is usually plenty of seating, and the games/activities on hand is a thoughtful added touch. This place is so unique–and tasty!–that I now have made it my go-to restaurant for taking my out-of-town visitors. Will keep coming back again and again.

The space is so well thought out with a small children’s area next to comfy seating (like being in your own living room), complimentary water, a stack of games. The employees are so friendly. Would definitely recommend this place, especially for families with children and for those needing a space to get some work done.

We felt so lucky to come across this gem in the middle of nowhere! Incredible savory flavors, delicious flaky pastry, and unbelievable sweet treats as well. The pastries are a little pricey for their size at $6 each, but very worth it - we each got 3. There's a ton of seating, at tables and in armchairs by a roaring fireplace, as well as board games. Such a delight to have lunch here on a winter afternoon!

This was my first time visiting the cafe location, and it was so lovely! I always get their vegan hand pies at the farmers market and so I knew I had to check out the cafe. Absolutely delicious vegan and vegetarian hand pies, empanadas, and more, plus really good coffee. A great spot for vegan options, and the owners are lovely.
