Awesome place! My grandson kept asking for chili hotdogs. So picked up a bunch of hotdogs and side of chili fro. And with their special sauce! Their shakes are delicious as well!

While not the fanciest fast food restaurant out there, being difficult to park at, and having a menu that makes vegans weep, AJ Texas Hots is a staple of the Jamestown area and (along with their competition, Johnny's Lunch in Lakewood) one of the oldest independently operating burger stands that define the city's working-class cuisine. A few tips: -Try it at least once. Even if you don't like it, you can say that you went there. -Try the Texas Fries. It's the closest thing to poutine this side of the Canadian border. -They are probably going to be busy when you get there. Be patient, they are a small operation. -Even with the recent renovation, drink deep the 1950s atmosphere, especially in the winter when the steam from the kitchen fogs up the glass.

Been coming here since my parents brought me as a toddler, the people are always friendly, the food comes fast, and I can never really recall any serious complaints in the 30 or so years I been a patron. I love the food!

AJ Texas hots as been a staple in the area for many years , and many who have moved away consider it must have when they come back to visit, or for out of town guest as a taste of the area when they come to visit. Im have to say I've never been a big fan of any of the Texas hots but to many people love it to be wrong. I always opt for a milkshake when I end up they with company. I recently had the raspberry , it was pretty good. You won't be disappointed if your looking for this kinda place.

A true staple in the Jamestown area. My husband was raised there and turned me on to those special hot dogs over 35 years ago and whenever we are in the area, that's what we grab as a quick bite over other fast food chains. You get a great value and it's a helluva lot cheaper to feed a family here.

Love the food and pricing is pretty great. They have a family meal for under $30 and if you would rather eat in the restaurant there is a small dining area. The employees are kind and make your order on spot, I've also never had to complain about my order being messed up or cold. They do have a small parking area as well as a drive-thru so no matter your preference, theyre likely able to accommodate.

Visiting jamestown for work and found this place, looked fun and it ABSOLUTELY was. Very cheap hotdogs and hamburgers that SLAP! They are so good. Also had their raspberry milkshake. Very good. It isn't much to look at but it's amazing. I think my favorite thing inside was their 3 American flags duct taped to a pole. If that doesn't describe the chaotic neutral vibe of the place, idk what does. It was impeccable.

AJs is an excellent place for a quick inexpensive meal, however this time they got the order wrong so it wasn't as enjoyable. The order was supposed to be for 3 Texas hot dogs, 3 Texas burgers, 1 med fries and I med onion rings well there were 5 hotdogs, no burgers and was very disappointed. It was a drive thru order and it was so busy that we didn't get a chance to check the order before driving away.

Been coming here since I was a kid. This one of my grandmother's favorite places for some greasy good food. Thankfully they haven't changed their recipes and still have great burgers, dogs, and other classics.

Aj Texas Hots never disappoints. This is a must for us every time we're in town. One of the rare places that it's still a reasonably cheap place to eat.

My favorite place to have my “cheat” meal, the hotdogs, burgers, fries, and a milkshake is the way to go! No other burger joint compares. Customer service is amazing, and they always have my order correct no matter how many super packs I order.

Always a must have when in Jamestown. Well worth the 600 mile trip. I ate there 3 times in my 6 day stay and purchased a jar of their famous sauce.

Been eating there for 35+ years, and it is as good as always. I always get 3 dogs with everything and 3 burgers with sauce and Texas fries with sauce and cheese.

Whenever I’m in the Jamestown area I swing through the AJ’s drive through for three Texas hots with everything. They are such delicious hot dogs with the most fabulous brown sauce. I don’t have anything like it in Cleveland. I also recommend their amazing milk shakes - totally worth the calories!

I have passed this place a few times and finally decided to stop due to repeated frustrations with fast food chains. I have to say I have finally found my go to place for “fast food”. Many people will say a hot dog or hamburger are just a hot dog and hamburger. Not here, they were actually cooked to perfection and fairly priced. I should have tried the fries and milkshake but will next time for sure. I can’t wait to try more of their food and would recommend them to anyone.

I have always loved coming here to eat. Their hot dogs and hamburgers are so tender, the way they are done. The sauce is unforgettable. The one downfall was if you dine in the tables were not cleaned. We had to request them to be washed, and the cook acted like it was a hassle. They may have been around for years, but cleanliness is a priority, too.

I will never understand how people could ever give you guys a bad rating. I grew up in the area but I moved to philly about 6 years ago, so everytime I come back home to visit family I always make it a priority to head over to AJs. You guys have always had a special place in my heart and remind me of the little things i miss back home. Your food is so good and I can't wait to have it when I come back at the end of this month for a graduation.

Dined in today. Place was clean. Inside was roomy despite looking small on the outside. Had plenty of room to seat 3 of us. Food was served fast and was tasty. I eat here occasionally and this is the first time I've ever dined in. Enjoyed it.

I ate one burger there, took the other burger and fries with me . I ate the 2nd burger on the way home. It was my birthday and I was allowed to pick any restaurant. I chose AJ's.

And there's no such thing as a Texas hot. Totally blew my mind when I'm driving around looking for hots in Texas and there ain't such a thing. But apparently in Western New York that's the only place that you can get a Texas hot. Lol

Always a busy place for a traditional hot dog or burger with A.J.' s sauce. . While waiting to place an order they were filling a order of forty dogs to go, plus containers with ladled sauce on french fries. I have a friend I go with there and he is such a regular, they know his order by heart.

Texas hot dogs with "everything" on them is ok. House sauce, mustard, and diced onions. Sauce is missing something, maybe garlic powder? Otherwise, a dash of your favorite hot sauce will fill the void. Id eat it again next time in in the area

Loaded fries more like unloaded fries what the heck this needs changing really a slice of cheese. Hot dogs and hamburgers were the same delicious taste as always but dang the loaded fries were unloaded fries with a slice of cheese and a child size portion of fries I asked forbloaded fries with onion cheese and aj sauce and I got Mcdonald fries with a slice of cheese and a dash of onio and some sauce it was the size my 5 yr old ate all of and a burger thats how small the fries are not the same as I remember needs improvement big time. Other food was amazing.

Place was clean. Employees were polite about getting my order wrong and fixed it immediately. Was very busy as an order for 45 hot dogs was in front of us but we're very good about getting our 4 hotdogs to us in the middle of that. I don't recommend sitting inside as it is small only 3 or 4 booths and the bar has couple seats, but with people waiting for orders there is not much room. Great food.

AJ's is one of those places in Jamestown NY that locals are very familiar with, and people from out of town always have to try before they leave.

Employee's give weird looks to people who aren't ”normal”. They could work on customer service with a smile. Burger patties very thin. Burgers and fries we're cold, but great onion rings!

I went to the drive-thru window, they were very helpful and courteous our order was fine the food was great wanted to give it five stars but my phone will let me do that it'll only let me give three stars.

Good place for a chilli dog but expect to yell your order at drive thru. A 2way baby monitor would be a huge upgrade and get a 5 Star review.

Hot dog connoisseurs will regret the "thin" sauce. The flavor is good and the spices in the sauce are very tasty but it isn't a hearty meat sauce. It's more like a meat flavored runny sauce. The runny sauce soaks the bun too.

Hot dogs were good. Hamburger... oh. Great the onion rings!

I have been a long time customer and loved their food but went there last night and they changed the French fries and I hate them. Now will not go back. Lost a good customer.

On 2/16/19 at about 7 pm the guy working behind the counter in the gray hat wasn't wearing gloves when handling food and money the entire time I waited. I wasn't impressed. Otherwise I always enjoy their food and prices.

Did drive thru and didn't get all of my order but didn't realize until I got home. It was great...

Honestly i love it here. Its always been a long wait, but there is 0 urgency, no customer serivce or even care in reguards to wait times. 18 minutes for 4 dogs, 2 fries with only 2 cars in line... unacceptable in my book. I get when the line in the road, but like cmon these guys really stopped caring about efficiency years ago. They have 2/3rds of the business figured out, local staple and tastes good but you might have a birthday before you get your food.

This place is a must not stop. They have young kids working that don't know how to cook. Even the lady who runs the place is incompetent. My fries where burnt and by the time I got them to replace it my hots were cold. If you want fast service and good food this is not it.

I went last night AJS has been a long time favorite spot to go to since I was a small child. Being I live out of town, I had to full fill my AJ fix and was so disappointed with my service in the drive thru. When I started to order I was asked after each item ordered "is that it?". The woman was clearly irratated that I wanted time to look at the menu. I was the only car in the drive thru at the time. After ordering my food I sat at the widow for 10 minutes before anyone said anything to me. Although the food was spot on, the service was horrible. I hope they get there act together or the may sink like the rest of the small businesses have over the years.

Drive thru is extremely slow and when we got our food it was cold. That was the first time. The second time we waited in line for half an hour and when we went to eat our food I had hair in my hotdog. The third time we waited 45 minutes before giving up and leaving. There was 4 cars ahead of us and they didn’t move the whole time.

Your drink carriers suck...got home, went to pick up the drink and it folded on me and spilled in my car.

Got food poisoning, and none of the staff were wearing gloves. Big yikes from me, I used to love AJs but considering almost every time I've gotten sick it isn't worth eating.

Service is very slow. If you get your order on drive through. Found parts of cleaning brush they used to clean out there hot dog machine in my sanotch.

I was really hoping to be able to write a 5 star review based on recommendations and other good reviews. But I’m going to make this short and sweet.. If you prefer not to have food poisoning, I don’t recommend eating here. I stood there for 5 mins watching the guy cooking hotdogs and hamburgers go back and forth from raw burgers to cooked/prepared food, cross contaminating literally everything within reach. Extremely let down with this experience. The girl who cashed me out was super nice, the rest of the employees were miserable.

Worse burgers I've ever saw. Had to return it. Didn't want sauce. It looked like they ran over it. Nasty look, couldn't even try to eat it. Wasn't a cheese burger at all and. Top of that it's not a burger it's toddler or 6 yr is old to eat, oh sorry. Wouldn't force it on you but still bad.I order everything on a cheese burger not once did they say they didnt carry. Toppers. Returned just 2 cheese burgers that clearly wasn't. Whent to Arby's and they had a great cheese burger with everything.
