Even though it was full, and busy, we got a table within 15 minutes. Our waitress was so friendly, the portions were very generous and the food was good. We enjoyed dining on the deck under the lights. A nice experience.
Brunch was excellent as was the service. Our group of 5 had Mac and cheese, apple and blue alad with chicken and pecans and a yummie pumpkin flavored dressing. Also a wonderful quiche and the cinnamon roll french toast. We shared the caprese cheese dip with pita chips. All was outstanding!
Amazing service is ALWAYS the absolute BEST at Brian's Landing. The food is always outstanding and the ambiance is top notch!! I keep going back because Brian's Landing is such an EXCELLENT place in every regard!
Very personable , My 70th Birthday & our waitress Kylie ran & got me a Bday glass. Food amazing, tasty, Going back!& taking others with us! Come to find out Renee & hubby , her Parents are seas.campers of ours......Small world ....just didn't put 2&2 together. Indeed you will Enjoy if you go......
Outstanding lobster rolls!! So so good! Love the signature drinks too!
Went for the Friday fish fry dinner and have to say it was the best fish dinner I have had in a very long time, absolutely delicious! Service is always wonderful. You just can't go wrong with this place consistently good food and wonderful service.
This place is fantastic and now with the addition of the outdoor dining what more could you want? Yea it might take a bit of time to get your food but the food is AMAZING. Is it a bit pricey? Well, you get what you pay for! If you want cheap food go to Burger King! Over all an amazing place with fantastic food. Parking stinks though.
Always have an absolute lovely time! I like this place because their menus is always just a bit different from what seems to be trending around Syracuse! If you have the opportunity get Erin as you waitress. An absolute delight!
Our favorite date night spot! The whole staff is wonderful and the food is top notch. We love the ever rotating desert menu and the fun cocktails. A must try!
Our first visit which made us wonder why we hadn't stopped before. We ordered the shaved prime rib sandwich with homemade potato chips and the Poppin bowl as an app. Excellent food and top notch service
great food. real attention to detail. cocktail menu is creative and suburb. waitstaff treat you like you really matter. which is sometimes what we all need. highly recommend.
First time visitor tonight… heard a lot of good things about this place and every word is true … this place is first class. Food was very good, the drinks were awesome but the thing that stood out the most was the service… I’m a people watcher and the staff worked in sync with each other like nothing I have seen before… this is a well run, first class establishment I would highly recommend.
Their brunch menu is very sumptuous! Our meals were prepared with care and served hot. Our server was delightful and caring.
Service is phenomenal. Food came out quickly and was amazing. I had a Sunrise Burger for lunch. 10 out of 10.
First time there.I had the drunken clams for an appetizer and ordered the brisket but unfortunately they were sold out so I went with the swordfish. Everything was excellent right down to the lemon icebox cake for dessert.
I brought my daughter and my two granddaughters to the restaurant for the first time. The special was meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Can I say that it was amazing. Our waitress was awesome.
The food is phenomenal and allergen friendly! I'm gluten free and the staff helper me had many accommodations to offer. Everything was delicious and the staff was attentive! This resteraunt is celiac friendly.
Staff is A+ and the food is amazing, great atmosphere for any time of the year. A must visit in the Syracuse area. First time dining there and it was enjoyable in all aspects 10/10
Amazing food. Creative drinks. Live Music on Fridays. This place had it all. We will definitely be back. Only regret is that I haven't been here sooner.
Lauren was AMAZING!! It was our first night out in months and we had so many great laughs and such great conversation with our server!! We will be back again for sure!! Great restaurant great food and even better service! Thanks for a great date night!!
I love Brian's Landing. Their regular menu is great and the specials are always *chef's kiss*. Burger and brew night is a favorite of ours and we get pumped to see their Thursday morning social media post revealing the special burger for the night. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. We are so happy we have this gem in our neighborhood!
Awesome place for a bite to eat. Stopped in here during a trip and wanted to get something good. My brother got the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, and I went with the Prime Rib Sandwich. It was busy, so it took a bit to get our server but she was accurate and efficient once she was alerted we were there. The bread platter they provide is a great assortment of soft, sweet bread slices. The rib sandwich was Savory and delicious. Very tender and cooked with care. A very upscale feel without breaking the bank. Definitely recommend and will be stopping back by the next time I'm in the area.
Walked in with my wife, having a little "Sunday Funday" for brunch just a little 15-20 minute drive to YB casino. Owner greeted us, Live Music, Great atmosphere, warm welcome. Food was terrific! We will be back. The waitresses recommendations were spectacular. I just had my wife's leftovers just now, the Shrimp & Grits.... Amazing 🤩! Two thumbs up. Unfortunately I had no leftovers with my lobster roll is was terrific. Their attention to detail on drink menu, Can't wait to go back....
It was our first time at this place. I would give it 10 stars of it was available. Not 1 complaint other then parking can be a little tricky. The food was amazing, I had the lobster roll, I usually dont get this when I go out because its hit or miss. Most places hardly put lobster in it however at Brian's landing it was overflowing! I had a bite of my son's crab/lobster cake and it was one of the best I've ever had. Everything I tried was amazing. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was spot on. He was a muscular guy with the perfect personality. Bathrooms were clean and the whole place had a great vibe. I will most definitely return to this place. Nice job to the owner and staff.
Who knew there was a 5-star restaurant in Jamesville ?? Apparently the folks who recommended we try it !! They were right. We like to dine early so at 4 PM it is relaxing and cozy. We ordered the lobster bisque, Caesar salad, bread board with dip oil, Chilean sea bass, butternut squash ravioli and key lime pie. I spent summers in the 1950's - 60's on the Maine coast with grandparents. Had a LOT of lobster bisque. This topped them all. It was both light and dense. A light, almost "whipped" texture but so dense with flavor ... the seasoning was just other-worldly. And thus it was with everything ordered. The sea bass fresh from the ocean, the ravioli tasted like it was filled with the thickest richest cinnamon-laced butternut squash soup ever. Even the bread was elevated to artisan level, bursting with chewy dill goodness ! A special cheer goes to our favorite waitperson Skyler. Knowledgeable, efficient, cheerful and charming !! Back will we be for many more boss feeds and you should too !
OMG! Catering through Brian's Landing is the best! great food selection, great attention to all the details and coordinating with others doing the setup. I attended their event recently and was impressed. Great work by your team catering an event this past weekend and doing it so professionally!
Good music, great food. I especially liked the smoked bacon wrapped filet medallions. We love all the servers and Jaqueline treats us like family. We enjoy when Mark Macri plays!
For anyone looking for actual reviews, please disregard the gang mentality of the previous few “posts” as they clearly are more interested in drama and bullying the owner and employees then they are trying to leave a review and solve problems. Lots of keyboard warriors out there that say one thing in person and another in the comfort of their mom’s basement. As someone who is a patron here a few times a year and loves food, they do a great job at BL, offer a unique experience, varied menu/specials, specialty cocktails, and location in the Jamesville market. Their Pork belly tacos are ridiculous. The best recommendation I can make is, try it yourself and make your own recommendation!
Brunch was great! Wife loved her bloody Mary. I had some kind of burger with bacon jam. Loved it. Will be back again! Have had dinner here before as well and never disappointed
This was one of the most wonderful dining experiences I’ve ever had. Absolutely perfect staff, atmosphere, drinks, food. 100/10 stars. We went for Sunday brunch right when they opened and all four of us had an amazing experience.
Brian’s landing has turned into my new favorite restaurant. They are so consistent. Food is always amazing. I love the craft cocktail selection. We try to go monthly because it’s that good! & their brunch on Sundays is the bomb.
I took a group of twelve ladies here last Sunday morning to celebrate a baby shower. I give them rave reviews. From the bartender as we waited for our group to gather, to the hostess who got our table together and ushered us to it, the cooks who created so very special dishes and to our waitress K(C)aitlyn who provided excellent service. My group was very happy and satisfied and I will be back soon. Thank you.
Great time ! Stopped in for live music and espresso martinis bc Brains landing has the best ones . Had chips and queso , the chips were so fresh with a homemade seasoning. Kids love the desserts. Just a good vibe very welcoming . Definitely coming back in warm weather to sit on the deck under the beautiful lights
Delicious food. Friendly and fast service. Comfortable atmosphere. Went on a Friday and there was a guy with a guitar and a voice- which sounded great, thankfully. Definitely want to go back and try other items! *The brussel sprouts are the best. I'll order them every time*
Had the Chicken and Waffles for Sunday brunch... The place is humming and bumping with a good crowd. I think I had about four different women checking our table to make sure everything was okay! My dish was good, although I ate it with fork/knife because the syrup was on top. ;)
It was very good, waitress was very personable, attentive. We both ordered the daily smoked dish. In this case it was a half Chicken. Very good, messy though. People rave about this place a lot. It's moderately priced $22 for our meals each. We shall return.
We ordered "to go" for our first time trying Brian's Landing in Jamesville. Everything we ordered was delicious. The lobster roll had a generous portion of lobster meat. The homemade potato chips were crisp and a family favorite. We enjoyed everything and can't wait to order again.
Went here for the Prime Rib and it was fantastic! Brittany and Lauren both helped us for the evening and both did a great job. They were up beat and were happy to answer any questions we had. Lauren was the bartender for the night and was knowledgeable about both locations and drink choices available. It was a great 1st visit for us and I'm sure we'll visit Brian's Landing again.
Our first time at Brian’s Landing was an excellent experience. From Kylie who “nailed it”, to Jacqueline that checked on us (as a great manager does)…. To the outstanding food! We were so pleased to find this gem so close to home! We recommend and will be back soon.
Stopped in solo, sat at the bar and had I nice dinner. First, the bartender (Steph?) was friendly, knowledgeable, and multi tasking fluently. She made me a Sidecar variant. Delicious. Everything I tasted was hand made and fresh. When I got the check, I was shocked. I almost said "You guys really need to charge more!". I'm going to be a regular. Nice job. Nice people. Nice place.
Had brunch there with a musician playing nearby so it was really loud (my mistake for not moving). But the food was outstanding, the drinks were fun and not too pricey, and although the service was a little slow because of how full the place was it was good. The short rib hash is worth getting again.
First time here but absolutely love the food. Everything is made in house and from scratch. Lobster bisque had big chunks of lobster. Drinks were amazing. Can recommend the espresso martinis. I had the fried haddock, was perfect cooked, personally wasn't a fan of the panko breading but that's just my preference. If you like panko I'm sure you will really enjoy. Also the chickpea tacos were fantastic. Can't wait to go back, may become a regular
Love this place! The menu changes with each season, the specials are amazing, and the team knows how to treat you right! This is a must visit restaurant again and again. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. 💥
Went for Mother’s Day brunch. As expected the restaurant was packed and there was a wait time. The hostess was extremely personable, we were seated within the time quoted when we arrived. The food and drinks were delicious. Service was excellent. Very friendly waitress. We didn’t feel at all rushed even though it was a very busy day. We were so impressed that we returned for dinner two days later with some friends….and had another great meal!
Incredible food, very nice people, and a nice quite yet lively atmosphere all in a place where we were seated immediately. What more could you ask for? I rarely order brisket when it’s on the special menu because it’s so hard to get right and having it as a fling is a recipe for failure but not here! It was incredible! We also had the chicken riggies which were amazing as well. The key lime cheese cake was stupendous. The Cesar salad left a lot to be desired but hey it was a very small part of the meal. We forgot our leftovers and when we started walking back in the hostess was walking them to us already! Such nice people! The prices are higher than your average diner but they’re so worth it. Well earned 5 stars.
Enjoyed a delicious brunch on the deck today. My entree was delicious, it could have been much warmer…for me not worth making a fuss. Steak and Poached Eggs with a very good hollandaise sauce and smashed home fries was my choice for today Excellent taste, quality and an amazing cold brew cold foam ice coffee Friendly service and atmosphere
Food was excellent, but the atmosphere was even better. The live music was such a great addition to our Sunday brunch experience. My mom loved it! The whole family had a great time and i really enjoyed the morning cocktails and the french toast was awesome! I’ve been in for dinner and apps before and always a great experience! Love this place!
Wow, wow, wow! I can’t believe it has taken us this long to discover this amazing place practically in our own back yard. Our brunch at Brian’s Landing was perfect in every way. Our server Laura was delightful and sweet. The food — wow! Absolutely delicious ( we got the waffles and the lobster on this visit). We sat in the cozy and quieter dining area (we got there after noon and apparently missed the rush). Our meal was ready in minutes and prepared masterfully. Looks like in the summer you can sit outside and actually see Butternut Creek. We’ll be back!
Had the best time ringing in the New Year with an intimate dinner with my husband — like, cue the rom-com sparkle soundtrack ✨. Our server, Lauren, was an absolute gem. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and made me feel completely at ease with my gluten allergy, which is rare because dining out usually has me on high alert like a detective with a food-allergy magnifying glass 🕵️♀️😂. The food was so delicious I actually did a tiny happy dance in my seat (zero regrets). And can we talk about the zero-proof cocktails?! They were just as fancy and festive as the real deal — no FOMO, just full-on celebration vibes. Can’t wait to go back — Lauren made us feel so welcomed that it already feels like our new go-to spot. 💖🎉
We had such a wonderful experience at Brian’s Landing in Jamesville! The service was amazing, so attentive and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond to accommodate gluten-free needs, which made the meal that much more enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening out. Every dish was fresh and absolutely outstanding! Everyone at our table loved their meal, and dessert was the perfect finish! Highly recommend the Dijon mustard salmon dish — 10/10! We can’t wait to go back!
We stumbled upon this place during a drive and are so glad we did. The inviting atmosphere on the patio drew us in, and the excellent food and service will definitely have us coming back. The pork chop and chicken Milanese were both delicious. Prices are fair, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend dining here.
Went for Sunday brunch with friends and had such a great time. The service was beautiful—our server, was so friendly and made amazing recommendations. The drinks were well crafted 🙂. I had the burger and loved every bite 🤤. It came with crunchy chips that hit the spot. The salad looked fresh and tasted just as good, and my friend who got the fried rice couldn’t stop talking about how much she enjoyed it. It’s cozy spot with good vibes and even better food—definitely worth checking out for brunch.
Run don't walk to this restaurant!! The food is always 10/10. The fact that they make daily tacos with homemade Torteas makes it even better. They have daily spiceals and switch up their menu from time to time. Everything is made with perfection 👌🏻 the staff is so nice! The place is cute they have a tavern side and a restaurant side. I would highly recommend
Stopped in on a Sunday to meet a friend for brunch. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, I loved the use of local spots in the decor. Food was great! We split the monkey bread as an app, def recommend with coffee! and our orders were both really great! We stayed to chat, and weren't rushed at all. A great little place on a cold winter Sunday!
January 2025 update - we still love going to Brian's Landing :) The sprouts are a MUST (seriously, the biggest recommendation I could make anywhere). Cocktails are fun. Every dish is incredibly flavorful and balanced. The menu and atmosphere looked so good, but we opted for takeout. Before we even dug in we decided we'd eat-in at some point if the food was decent. Then we opened the bag and found this. It was beyond sweet and I couldn't help but tear up thinking of the staff. The food was great! We got the shrimp carbonara and stuffed haddock and loved both. Thank YOU for a great date night. You'll definitely see us again soon.
My experience at Brian's landing was amazing. Service was there to help at all times and was very kind. As for our appetizer we had the honey and goat cheese petta bread, and it was amazing. The petta bread had an amazing texture and good seasoning. For my main course I had the homade pasta meat lasagna. The lasagna had the perfect ratio between all the cheese, meat and sauce. The crust on the top was amazingly seasoned and really added more flavor and texture.
Always Exceptional! This restaurant never disappoints. The food, service, and atmosphere are consistently top-notch. Fresh, high-quality ingredients are beautifully presented, and every dish bursts with flavor. The staff is attentive and welcoming, adding to the overall exceptional experience. Other restaurants in Central New York could learn a thing or two from this gem. Highly recommended!
What a fantastic Sunday brunch spot! I was blown away by the quality of the food, drinks, and service. They also have a fantastic outdoor dining area on days when the weather allows. You can’t go wrong with the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, monkey bread, and boozy French toast, but really everything on the brunch menu looked fantastic. I can’t wait to come back and try their dinner menu!
This is my absolute favorite brunch spot. The menu changes every few months and is so unique and delicious. I also appreciate the live music on Sundays. This was my first visit for lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. We got the Brussel sprouts appetizer- the best I’ve had. We each got the taco special. The shrimp tacos were so tasty and the sauces on both the appetizer and the entree were such a garlicky/sweet/spicy surprise. Our waitress was outstanding. A glass of Chardonnay was $8. Just go! You will love it as much as I do.
This was our 3rd visit and I can easily rate this as the top eatery in Syracuse - No joke! The food, the drinks, the staff.....All second to none in this area. Tonight we sat at the bar and had many lively concoctions. Amongst our favorites: Death by Chocolate, Espresso Martini, and a Straight Martini. All wonderful. We had the new Lobster Croquette appetizer to start, and the 2 specials(Curried Pork Shank and Swordfish), finishing up with homemade desserts of Key Lime Pie and Cheescake. All simply stunning meals. The staff should be a lesson for all in how customer service should be: The level of attentiveness is simply off the charts. The manager was moving around in a happy fervor to ensure the utmost quality to the experience as well. Don't miss out on a visit here. Sunday Brunch is also amazing. Live music every time we've been, including the always great Jess Novak band!
I enjoyed this place so much, I came back! I was staying down the street and wanted to see what they had to offer while I was in town, especially because it was walking distance. I really wanted to go to dinner with my fiancé, but I saw they had shellfish on the menu and decided to stop and ask about their ability to cater to his allergy while having lunch. When I showed up for lunch, I sat at the bar and ordered a prime rib sandwich without the bun. for a drink I had a cider from tap. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the ciders and my friend even came by at the end and had a cranberry mule. It was delicious and nice; I didn't even feel awkward sitting alone at the bar during my meal. When I asked about the shellfish allergy, they said it wouldn't be a problem, so I came back with my fiancé another evening. That evening we had a wonderful cozy dinner. I was told while in Syracuse I had to try chicken riggies and that is just what I did, and I was not disappointed. My fiancé had pub pork chop, which he almost inhaled. We had wonderful drinks with dinner, my fiancé enjoyed a selection of beers, and I had a winter white cosmo which was so good I had 2 more! Dinner was so delicious that even after I was unable to finish my dinner and had to have it boxed to take home, we still had to try the dessert. While the chocolate raspberry torte could have done without the powdered sugar the taste was delightful. Rich and creamy with the slight punch of raspberry. This place was wonderful, great environment and epic customer service. I can't wait to try another seasonal drink and something new from the menu, I can't wait till we are back in town.
What an amazing little surprise! This was the most delightful find right there in Jamesville stopped in for a Sunday brunch on a freezing cold day and the place was jamming with a really good warm vibe, they had live music going there and despite pany people I'm there we were able to get a table right away. The food was incredible and great portions, and they had an amazing mimosa flight four flavors served in these cute little mini Ball jars. Just look at the size of my son's biscuits and loaded gravey, and man was it loaded with cheese, sausage, bacon, and flavor. No wonder this place was so full on a blistering cold day. It is well worth it! Can only imagine how nice it would be if the weather was conducive to sitting on the patio.
Second dinner at this neighborhood favorite. Roasted Brussels sprouts are excellent. Chickpeas salad was lacking salad dressing. Homemade lobster pasta is overpriced ($45), portion size is average. Long wait for the main dishes.
P very nice but small restaurant and a large deck mediumly priced and great food. Only problem we had was it took over an hour for our food to arrive to the table. Busy on the deck. Busy in the dining room. Otherwise very nice place
Good food. We ordered four fish dinners. They were delicious and very large portions. It was a little pricey after paying extra for fries but I would still get it again.
Had dinner last week at the new location. The pasta was excellent & service was outstanding. We had Harmony and she is one best servers in CNY.
Food was delicious. I had their Chicken sandwich and chocolate cream pie. Everything was so good and quick service. I will say make sure to ask for prices on specials and desserts. Our waitress didn't tell us. My friend got creme Brule and found out it was $14 instead of regular priced desserts.
The lavender Spritz cocktail left much to be desired. It seemed that it was lavender something with 7-Up and a stick of lavender in it, which was inedible. The menu said there would be bitters, but none were detected. We love the place so wanted to share
Update: they reached out via response to this review as well as via phone call and have issued a refund. Changed from 1 to 4 stars. We eaten there before and had a good experience. However, this time we ordered take out. The fried chicken special that we ordered was entirely raw. When we called, they gave us push back, stating that there was a blood vein in the chicken. It was not, I can assure you. It was raw. We (kindly) asked for a refund subsequently hung up on. We attempted to call back a few times with the hopes that it was an accident, however they are now not answering our calls. So disappointed.
Great table service. Very limited menu. Corn fritters were great. My double burger was good too (overdone though) They were out of 2 entrees which was very limiting. Probably would not go back
The evening didn't start well when the hostess offered us a cramped table for two between the bar and dining room, despite only two occupied tables in the dining room. My husband asked for a booth and we were shown to one with the sunlight pouring in. Fortunately blinds on the windows could be adjusted. Our server was perky and friendly although she didn't refill my water glass. Food: OK. Beer choices, limited. Somehow Utica Club (a popular beverage for Friday afternoon parties when I was in college) didn't seem to fit. The check: my husband ordered the barbecue special, pulled pork and coleslaw on a brioche roll, with corn bread and mac and cheese. $26.00! We frequently travel cross country and often eat at barbecue places. Never, never, never have we seen a price like that for a simple sandwich with sides.
I came in for dinner with my mom back in December. We have previously had great experiences here in the summer, the outdoor area is beautiful, lobster roll and shrimp tacos were delicious. This time I ordered a burger, my mom had a roast beef sandwich, and we split a crème brûlée. The roast beef was dried out and waay over salted. Its funny, when Brian's Landing was at Green Lakes we had the same experience with dry and over salted roast beef. It seems like they just can't get their technique down with their beef sandwiches. Somehow the bill came to $74 dollars with the tip for two people. We didn't have any special drinks or anything so this seemed a bit steep considering what other restaurants would charge for sandwiches and a dessert. We went to another local restaurant the following week, ordered sandwiches, drinks, and dessert for THREE and the bill only came to $50 with tip. Anyways, in summary I will probably go back because their outdoor space is wonderful in the summer, but I hope they are able to fix their beef cooking methods, and realize how inflated some of their prices are for the area.
Dined there last week. VERY Good customer service and efficiency considering the large crowd. Nice ambiance. Appetizers - Caprese Dip with homemade pita chips and their version of Utica Greena were excellent as was the IPA I ordered - very cold & fresh- (you can tell the taps are clean). the only disappointment was the prime rib sandwich & chips - poor quality. finally and in summary - all items on menu were over - priced. will go back due to it being one of the very few nice ambiance restaurants in the area..
Went here today for lunch with my husband and a friend of ours. We were in the area and had heard good things about the food so we were excited to try it. We were seated promptly and given water. When it was time to order drinks, my husband was fine with water, my friend ordered a glass of wine and I ordered one of the specialty ciders listed on their drink menu. When I ordered, the waitress audibly scoffed and said "a what???". I pointed it out to her on the menu (it was a variety of 1911 so it's not as though I could have mispronounced it) and she shrugged and said "oh well I don't keep up with that so...." and walked away to put our drink order in. Drinks came and we were ready to order food. Friend ordered fine, husband ordered fine, then I ordered a fried burratta for the table and then requested one of the sandwiches just without the chicken (I'm a vegetarian but my husband is a carnivore through and through so I'm used to just asking for small changes like removing the protein or getting it on the side if something veggie isnt available). She looked at me like I had two heads. It was a chicken caprese sandwich so I explained that all I wanted was the cheese/arugula/pesto/balsamic on the bread. The regular build, just no chicken. She wrote it down, rolled her eyes and said "I bet the kitchen is really gonna love this". I said ok, if that's an issue what else on this menu would you recommend? And she said "well anything really" and tried to list off some options, all which had some kind of meat in them where I'd have to request the kitchen to hold it (bacon bits, prosciutto, etc) . There was one salad available without meat. I was particularly hungry so I was hoping for the sandwich and she was like, "ok, Ill just tell them to put the chicken on the side". I didn't think it would be that much of an issue to have something omitted - wasn't asking for them to create something from scratch and was fully prepared to pay the full (with chicken) price. She went to put our order in and I heard her explaining it to the kitchen which I appreciated but it all just seemed so much more difficult than it needed to be and I didn't love the snippy reactions from the server. Food came and their sandwiches looked good. Mine arrived and looked great as well, just came with the wrong side (I ordered sweet potato fries but got the house chips when it came). At that point I wasn't going to say anything and the chips were tasty. Ate half of my sandwich, we ordered another round of drinks that came out with no issues and paid our bill. Asked to have the rest of my meal packed up and the piece of chicken "on the side" that my husband will eat at home. When we got home, had the chicken in the bag, had my half of sandwich but my side (the chips that I didn't order but ate half of anyways lol) weren't included. Oh well! Overall the food was fine. Good! But,(especially as someone who works in hospitality myself), I just couldn't get over the poor "experience ". If it was all really an issue having something not included, totally fine, but explain that, don't act like we're gravely inconveniencing you by serving us. Weird and disappointing. Won't be back.
When dining in the portions are so much larger than take out. I have called twice on this issue and never received a valid response. I tried to order take out 4 times in 1 week end was told they could not do it. 18.00 is a lot to spend on and appetizer. NEVER AGAIN. VERY RUDE
Food is acceptable, but very expensive. Carrots and potatoes with the king steak were burnt. Fries were soggy and floppy, over-seasoned. Cocktails were very good however, same with the fish. It’s pretty loud in there, but it’s clean. My biggest complaint would be with the bartenders — ignored us for a solid 15 minutes before finally asking if we wanted something to drink. Finished my drink (at the bar, in front of the bartenders) and I wasn’t asked if I wanted something else to drink for 30 minutes, even after commenting on someone else’s drink to them. Left infomercials playing on the televisions for 30 minutes lol. Just disappointing.
This was our first time at the new restaurant. We never had a bad meal when we ate at the restaurant at Green Lakes, but the service was horrible. The new place was the exact opposite. The food was terrible. Not one thing was good. The Prime rib was grizzly. The lobster was tough and the dish was missing a major component, the cilantro. The bread was tasteless. French fries so salty. Cheesecake old and dry. We took our great grandson out for a special dinner and didn't want to complain about everything but there wasn't a good part of the meal. We will never go back there. What was the meat? It wasn't prime rib. The reviews are good on here. Very puzzled.
We went back to Brian’s Landing and ordered the fried goat cheese and the strawberry salmon salad. The food was delicious, the lemonade mocktail was refreshing and Laura R was a great server. Thank you for a wonderful lunch. We will contribute to go here!
Was hopeful to enjoy a delicious meal after hiking at Clark's reservation. Was impressed with ambiance inside ( knowing what used to be there in the 80s) Once seated outside..not so...to close to road..very noisy. Waited over 30 minutes ( after ordering) and decided to get up and leave. Place was NOT busy Menu was extremely disappointing also...seemed rather measly...not many choices Ended up over at Rustons...where diner food never disappoints😊😉
I'd like to start this off by introducing myself. My name is Caitlin Halladay, and I typically go by the name Oren. I avoid conflict like the plague. However, as someone who has both worked in the food service industry (front and back of house) and been raised by a mother who kept a roof over my head with tip money, I can, under no circumstances, say nothing. The group who is having an issue with Brian's Landing is a group I've been lucky enough to stumble across and find community with. I was there on one of the days where a close friend of mine was harassed for tips. He was in attendence there with us despite not having money to pay for himself. The same went for a few other members there. They were paid for by those of us who could afford it. Out of the several of us that paid for those of us who could not, we all left generous tips to make up for those who were not paying. Because of tips, I ended up paying almost $80.00 total for three people, inlcuding myself. Listen, I've been there. I've worked food service, I worked ice cream stands, and there were days that I didn't get a lunch if I didn't get enough tips to cover it. My paycheck went fully toward bills at the time. Even under those circumstances, it is NOT okay to harass customers for tips, especially when you're getting tips from multiple bills of the same table, anyway. The issue was never resolved, folks. The owner of the store is lying to our faces, your faces, and the community's faces. Most of the staff there were amazing, so I hate doing this. Regardless, I will be sharing my review and similar negative reviews on social media. To the waitress specifically who harassed my friend: it may feel nice right now to have your managers defending your entitled behavior, but we all know what you did was wrong. You know what you did was wrong. Rhetorically, why are you putting yourself and your management team through these tedious repercussions when it all could have been avoided by a "my bad, I was just frustrated by ___" ? Instead you've all seemed to double down on defending inappropriate behavior. Yes, not getting tipped sucks, I've been there. If not getting tips is affecting your paychecks and affecting your financial security, you should be directing that frustration at management, not customers. To the owner and manager involved in this dispute: your attempt to save face when an employee is out of line is going to bite you from behind in the long run. Not even because of this one incident. It's because you're setting a precedent that you will keep defending this behavior. Your other employees will eventually get sick of it, feeling like they can not trust you to protect them from the way those actions affect them. On the other hand, you will end up with employees who walk all over you because you will keep defending them at your own expense to save face. No one is attacking this business as an attempt to "hurt a small business" for no reason. People like us become upset at this kind of reaction because we loved this small business. Our group visited frequently, tipped generously, and did our best to support small business instead of everyone pulling up to a fast food place after or bringing our own foods to practice. We are upset because we loved Brian's Landing, and y'all are being ridiculous. I'm not going to say my companion's are impacted the way I am, but I, personally, intend to make a point of this. You're lying to make yourselves look better because you know that your actions and your words are both wrong and not backed by common sense. I am not sharing out of spite. I am sharing partially because I intend to make a point. Mostly, I am sharing because I would be mortified if I hadn't warned my friends and family in time before they went to treat themselves to lunch and got bullied by a single staff member with an attitude problem. Genuinely, it's a joke that you think your high prices, stale atmosphere, and status as a small business are worth feeling like the staff hates you for simply dining there.
Food 3 stars, waitress 4 stars We had a party of 6-7 people for diner. They required everyone to arrive before letting you sit down in their outdoor area. Some of us arrived early and wanted to order drink and appetizers first and they refused. We were asked to wait at the bar until everyone is there. They gave us a table next to the road. Loud traffic and huge concrete truck were 10 yards away. Won't be back again.
I understand it was Mother’s Day weekend but it was a mess today. Our party showed up at 1120 for a 1130 reservation. We were told our table still had people sitting down where we were assigned. Another party showed up for a 1130 reservation and they were seated first. Finally we were assigned a different spot 20 minutes after we showed. We were all excited and our order was placed at 1200. We did not receive our order until 2 hours later. Other tables that came after us were being served. The food was subpar probably due to the fact of the rush. The restraint we had to endure, finally my brother had to go into the kitchen to express how we have been waiting for 2 hours. Happy Mother’s Day.
What a disappointment! I ate here last spring and it was delightful. Last night it was terrible. The food took forever - literally over 45 minutes from the time we ordered- for a sandwich and crab cakes -and it wasn’t even good when it arrived. Our server seemed overwhelmed and the overall experience was a complete letdown.
Take out dinner 5/27/20 2 appetizers , 1 side salad, 1 Utica greens, 2 deserts. No main course, no drinks, 2 desertS $77.00 Outrageous . I wont be back. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Another Jamesville failure . Appetizers were At best mediocre one desert pie was undercooked. Greens went into the trash. Dinner 3/30/22 They had improved immensely the last month, Returned several times for their outstanding pan fried pork chop, which has now been replaced with a dreadful pork shank (prepared like oso buco But with none of the tenderness. Tough & dehydrated. Had the chicken riggies too much sauce & little chicken. Salmon was ok but cilantro/lime sauce was flavorless. So much for their “new” menu. Very disappointing. Why did they change?
I'm pretty disappointed to have to be writing this review, and that this became a bigger matter than it needed to be. As part of two sizeable communities we would often frequent the restaurant, whether on our own are as part of one of the two. In fact, this place had become our Cheers and we would stop in with a party of 10-15 on Sundays. Our group would tip more to help cover those who may not be able to, but in the end after the majority of us exited the restaurant, and despite the rest tipping more to cover anyone who couldn't, two of our group were cornered, chastised, and lectured after the rest of us were out of sight and earshot. It created a starkly negative experience that should have NEVER happened. My Brother went in later on to speak with the manager, who insisted that tipping was mandatory, and if people don't tip she doesn't support that and they shouldn't do business there. She stood staunchly in defense of the waitress who had stepped out of line, ( I later learned from the manager herself it is her best friend), and held firm to this stance, which she voiced verbatim to both my Brother and myself. "If you don't tip it's stealing money from the waitresses paychecks." Naturally the conversation between them ended poorly, and minutes later my Brother had walked over to our class down the street and informed me of what all had been said and gone on. We were disappointed, frustrated, and decided we would no longer feel comfortable recommending Brian's Landing nor able to bring our community there any further. Should have ended here, but it did not. Two weeks later, I woke up to a Facebook friend and message request from the manager. Mind you, I've had wonderful interactions with most the staff and long conversations with many of them, but none with the manager. I do not know her, and it felt incredibly uncomfortable to be tracked down on social media and asked to come in to talk. I went in the same day to discuss the matter, and after we sat down I was fed a saccharine line of how generous and kind I am and how they love having me there before she proceeded to spin a tale of how my Brother, (She didn't know he was my Brother), was loud, aggressive, pointing his finger at her and making statements of not bringing anyone around anymore and writing a bad review. She was not aware he and I had spoken minutes after their conversation ended at the class we attend down the street. That I knew what occurred, and that her characterization of him was wildly inaccurate compared to anything I've ever known of him. As our conversation progressed she took the same tact she had with my Brother, trying to get me to agree that tipping is mandatory, and that it is theft from the wages of the waitresses if we don't tip. I informed her that was not the case, and that while we tipped more to help cover those who couldn't, tipping is NOT mandatory and is service based. She tried telling me that it was New York State Law, which I called out for the lie it was. She then told me that they have to tip out the kitchen staff and if the tips don't cover it then it comes out of their paycheck. She kept pushing this end, stating her age and how she knows the service industry and what is and isn't required. I then informed her of my Brothers and my own experience in the Hospitality and Service industry, which is quite strong and lengthy having worked front and back end at a high level. Ultimately, the manager stressed that because I, my Brother, and the head of the second community I mentioned, the one who runs the class we attend down the street, are all so generous we are welcome and wanted there, and she hopes we continue going even if the others who can't tip don't come. It was a disgusting experience that spiraled out beyond the initial issue that should have been simply resolved with, "I'm sorry that happened. We won't seat you in that waitresses section. We hope you continue to dine with us."
We decided to give this a try as Brian's Landing. We had ate there a few times when it was split rock and it was very good. However we were very disappointed with the current venue. The menu lacks creativity and the food follows it. Rather bland and flavorless. Definitely not worth the prices. If you just want a basic meal and flavor is not important and you wanna pay extra for the lack of taste, this is your place. Will never go again and not recommend.
Edit: Hello "owner" person! You were not there for my meeting with the GM, she and I had it in private outdoors. I'm sad to see you're blindly listening to only one side, but that's ok. You guys escalated this to the point where we just don't bother to come by ever. We've never treated anyone poorly, and it's an absolute shame to see this response. When I left that convo, I did NOT say anything was resolved. I flat out told her that due to her poor handling of this situation I would leave this review. It's uncouth to lie. By the way, your manager intercepted me in Wegmans to "thank" me for the reviews. Coincidentally, that was about an hour ago... Right when these "responses" came in... Huh. How intriguing. Let sleeping dogs lie. Seems it's not just me either, others have left reviews out there about your "manager" and her "winning" personality. Screenshot attached for proof (and appropriately redacted to respect privacy. ~Original~ I almost didn't post this, until the manager approached my friend and brother and tried to tell an untrue tale. We had a party of 10-15 that came in every Sunday. We tipped separately, but several of us tipped more to make up for folks who might not be able to. One of the waitresses can be a bit rough around the edges, she was concerned two of our members hadn't tipped several times in a row. She didn't handle this well though, she confronted them for not tipping and implied that if she isn't tipped then they take that money out of her paycheck. The manager has both claimed that is and isn't true at this point. I went to speak with the manager about this awkward confrontation and to address the fact that tipping isn't required, it's inappropriate to be confrontational about it. Also, to tell her that we try to make up for that again by collectively tipping more. Even after telling her this, she refused to give ANY ground or acknowledge any wrong doing on her side. This, is only the start. Waitress complaints? Look, we've looked the other way with her being snappy (telling my fiance to just "hurry up and pick there's only 3 choices", for example). And also there are tactful ways to check in on tipping. That's about where that ends, we felt uncomfy about how it was handled specifically. Manager conversation I had was awful. She refused to own any of her actions. She did say she wished the waitress hadn't done that, and she asked her not to, but she did it anyway. Well, ok then. So, it did happen. The manager made it clear to me that the rest of our party was still welcome, but not the people who do not tip. She blatantly stated: "If you can't afford to tip, we do not want your business". After the conversation didn't go anywhere productive I let her know that I was going to post this review, as the conversation had honestly proved to me that we weren't truly welcome. Or rather, some us were and some us were not. She did tell me that I'm still welcome! Because I ALWAYS tip! I'm different! That's very gross feeling to me. I am not different than my friends. The manager turned to telling me roughly: "You're going to leave a review? Why? You'll look so bad. Don't do that. You're young, I'm doing this to protect you. Don't leave a review." Now, that was about where my story ends. My brother can leave his review to explain how this same manager tracked him down on Facebook, requested he come in, and then apparently told a different version of this story where I was supposedly quite aggressive and threatening. Myself and my party will honestly never return here. This manager tried to actually call a friend of mine in, to try and turn him against me. That is wildly inappropriate. So, we lost our 'Cheers' that we used to come to frequently, because the manager couldn't own her or her teams mistakes (turns out that waitress is her best friend, so, big yikes. I walked right into this fight I suppose). At this point others have heard both this first half of the story, and the soon-to-come sequel to be told by my brother. And many have felt disgusted by what they've heard.
This used to be my favorite place for brunch, for years I went every other week. The menu options over the last head and quality of the food have tanked greatly. There are constantly issues with our orders and it takes over an hour to get food. To top it off, the servers are just not very good. The last two times I’ve gone they made a mistake with one of our parties orders. They offered no resolution either time and gave us nothing as a consolation. We waited over 1.5 hours for the food to arrive and the place was half empty on the last visit… when the order came our wrong they said “oops sorry”. Will never go back.
Just called Brian's Landing to see if we needed to make reservations. Girl who answered phone said nope and hung up. We heard great things about Brian' Landing but will go elsewhere. Unfortunate to have the front end of the establishment be dismissive.
Just ate lunch here with my family. 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 kids. The food was great but the service was less than kind. I didn’t catch her name because she never introduced herself. She seemed irritated from the jump and did the bare minimum. She did not check on us after delivering our food or ask us how we were doing. She did check on other tables and asked if they were doing okay so I know this wasn’t her first day on the job. We felt very unwelcome here. The lobster roll was delicious and filling. The turkey club had lots of flavor. The New England clam chowder was very good as well. The fries were crunchy and seasoned perfectly. The food was great.
Waitress was extra rude , yes I did complain about her. We were suggested greens and told they were great. As eating them we realized there was big chunks of pork fat, my cousin who is treating me to this nice meal Absolutely does NOT eat pork. The waitress was rude to us , we did not order this off the menu but because she suggested it. She became mean. And told us to bring it home.
