Best burger on the planet! Their Brie and bacon jam burger is amazing. Run to experience this meal!
Absolutely loved the food here. I have wanted to eat here for a while and had the opportunity to check it out for a friend's birthday. I have had a lot of house made chips, and these were some of the best I have ever had, with bacon and blue cheese and balsamic. The food was amazing. The dining area was perfect for a date night, with the lights a little low. It was a creative menu and classic cocktails. The dining room was a little on the cooler side, just as a warning.
I came here last night for my friend’s birthday dinner and wow — this place is far beyond a 10/10. This is truly a hidden gem in Syracuse, and I don’t understand how more people aren’t talking about it. We started with drinks, and I ordered the espresso martini, which was hands down one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had in Syracuse so far. It was so good that if I go back, I’m absolutely ordering it again. I also got to try a few of my friends’ drinks, and every single one was excellent. Whoever the bartender was did an amazing job — everyone at the table loved their cocktails. For appetizers, we all ordered something different (which I highly recommend), so it felt like we got to try almost the entire menu. We had the fried calamari, house bruschetta, mozzarella prosciutto toast, jumbo tempura shrimp, and oysters. The oysters were incredibly fresh — honestly the best oysters I’ve had in Syracuse. We ordered about two dozen, and I personally had five or six of them. They were that good. For my main dish, I ordered the stuffed rigatoni, and it was amazing — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Others at the table had dishes like fennel sausage ravioli, a special salad, burgers, and a grilled salmon burger, and everyone loved their food. There wasn’t a single complaint at the table. What really stood out to me, though, is that you can immediately tell this is a restaurant where the chef truly loves what he does. Every dish felt intentional, like it was made with care and pride. We learned the chef has been doing this for about 10 years, and you can absolutely taste the experience. He even came out to greet us and say hello, which you don’t see often — and that alone says a lot. He went above and beyond, just like the rest of the staff. We ended the night with dessert, which was just as impressive. The apple crisp with caramel and ice cream was delicious and not overly sweet — the ice cream paired perfectly with it. The Italian lemon cake was also incredible. I’ve been to Italy and loved their lemon desserts, and this one genuinely reminded me of that — light, fluffy, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Our server, Nicole, was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, attentive, and made sure to check on us throughout the entire night. If you go here, ask for Nicole — she truly made the experience even better. The only item that wasn’t my personal favorite was the shrimp tempura with blue cheese. The dish wasn’t bad at all — the blue cheese was just a bit overpowering for me and took away from the shrimp flavor. That said, if you’re a blue cheese lover, this is probably an amazing appetizer for you. Overall, this restaurant is a true gem in Syracuse. I’ve honestly never heard anyone talk about it before, but after this experience, I will absolutely be telling everyone I know to go try it. We’re already planning to go back.
Small space, but my wife and I have gone multiple times and always get seated within 20 minutes. Its usually at the bar, which is fine with us, but if you want a table, you may wait a bit longer. Decent beer selection. Always a refreshing sangria selection available. Menu and specials are always good. We often split several apps as they tend to be our favorites, but you can't go wrong. Staff are always friendly. Bar staff are especially kind and knowledgeable.
We stopped in for dinner one evening, definitely recommend having reservations when dining here. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overly present. The food and drinks are well prepared and each is its own experience. Their desserts were the perfect ending to a great meal!
I love this spot. If you're in the area I recommend coming here for dinner if you can get a reservation. I came here for a family birthday and loved it. I can't wait to stop back in. This spot is very quaint and cozy. When you're here, you feel as though you're in someone's house. I love their drinks, burgers, fries, and appetizers. Our server was very friendly and attentive, even though we were here on a weekend evening and it was quite busy. I can't wait to stop by again for dinner.
This is my absolute favorite special dinner place! The atmosphere is super cozy and beautiful. The service is awesome and the food is delish!!
I have passed this place dozens of times after picking up honey from my honey guy. I want even sure what this was. I thought it was like a culinary school or some program. Thanks to reddit and my craving of burgers 🍔 someone mentioned this place and the jam burger, and so many people upvoted that. We made a date night to come here. The place is hidden a bit and a bit further from any kind of businesses. It's literally behind some trees and shrubs. The atmosphere is great inside, a bit industrial, which I like. We made a reservation, I feel like that was the way to do it. We came after they opened and it didn't look busy, but everything was reserved and people flooded in shortly. We got chicken lemongrass dumplings and duck bacon wontons. They were very flavorful. I inhaled them before I snapped photos. I was really hungry. Then I tried the Brie & bacon jam burger. Thank you reddit, it was so juicy 🤤 the meat was perfect and the bacon jam gave it a nice shot of flavor. Oh, and it was Thursday so margaritas are $7. The staff is nice and attentive, but not annoyingly when you just took a bite of something. I really enjoyed this place and I'll be back for date night.
Great food and service in a cozy environment. Has a charming atmosphere but can get loud when very busy because the bar is in the same room as the tables. Fairly new outdoor patio dining that we haven't tried yet but looks like a nice area and should be quieter during busy times.
This restaurant lived up to the hype. The food was delicious! The burger was cooked to perfection. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The steak was tender and tasty. All of the cocktails were enjoyable. The service was good and the atmosphere was charming. I was surprised at the size of the restaurant, much smaller than I expected. I recommend making reservations. Overall a great experience.
Went to this restaurant on our drive up to Canada as we were staying in Syracuse for the night. I called ahead (on the same day) to make a reservation, which is recommended. They were full by the time we got there. We were seated quickly, but waited a while for service. It seemed like there were only 2 servers that night, and they were both running back and forth from the host position to grabbing drinks to getting the food out. I ordered the steak frites. It was good, but a bit salty for my tasting. The fries had a heavy coating of Parmesan cheese which made it too salty. The atmosphere and vibe is nice and romantic. However in the winter it does get cold as it’s an older building and when people enter/exit the restaurant a draft gets let in. Overall, it was an okay experience. I’d come back in the summer just to see if things are different.
Let's get the bad out of the way. Worst old fashioned I've had in the city of syracuse. The food is absolutely amazing. Which is the primary reason for our visit. Service was stellar. The atmosphere is very cool. All around excellent restaurant. The owner is always visible and talking to his patrons. This man is hands on to that says a lot about the business.
Our server was excellent and super nice, love the atmosphere, decent menu selection, but they had run out of some things on the menu- probably due to them closing down during the NYS Fair. So that was a little dissppointing
This lil gem is a lovely place that obviously specializes in service. Our waiter was attentive and was also able to answer our questions about the history of this cool looking building. It's does tend to get a bit loud with the acoustics. The food was delicious... I had the Gouda burger which was done perfectly & was really a ground steak. My husband had the ravioli which he found was delicious as well. I would suggest having some gluten free appetizers... The menu doesn't have options for GF so I did the best I could but I do prefer when they are spelled out for me. Overall I would suggest this restaurant.
First time dining here, it was a fairly busy Saturday night. The atmosphere is really unique with the old schoolhouse vibe! Very cool but it did get pretty loud as the evening progressed. The food is excellent, the service is average. The food is definitely worth another trip so we will try again! 4 stars…
This is a really cool, cozy place. The food was very good. I got the Bleu burger. It came out relatively quickly and was fresh and good quality ingredients. The beef was fresh and everything was prepared meticulously. The fries were incredible. All very top notch. Prices were appropriate for the quality of the setting and the food. I had a martini and it was equally top notch. The setting is a renovated old school. Very hip and the interior is done beautifully. Warm, casual, and vibrant with a high end country pub kind of vibe. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. I met a couple friends for dinner here. I was late getting there so they ordered thier dinners before I got there. When I got there it took forever for anyone to acknowledge me and take my drink or dinner order. A couple times we actually tried to catch the attention of our server. Both times she walked right by not even saying anything and she clearly saw us and heard us. My friends were almost done with thier meal before I could order. That was a little weird and the only reason I'm taking off one star. Maybe they didn't anticipate the business and ended up a little short staffed, but the staff ignoring me didn't seem like a good work around. I'll certainly go again and I recommend it as the food and setting are a great quality experience and better than many in the area.
Great experience and wonderful atmosphere with being located in a formal school. And that's where it ended for me. Food/menu is kind of tired and uninspired American fare I know I can get at a number of places in town. Apps felt over priced costing as much as some entrees. Service was on point and polite. Had the house chips app to start and they were the best of what we ordered. I had the steak fritz. Steak was over cooked and the potatoes would have been better without all the oil. She had the chicken pesto sandwich and found it tasty. Hard pass on the eggplant fries - too oily and bitter. On the fence with whether it's worth another attempt given we know of better in the area for the same price point.
Beyond unprofessional how we were treated with total disregard after we spoke with someone directly by phone and made a RSVP for 3ppl at 5:15 on 5/24/25… I spoke with the owner and she could care less that they made a mistake and did nothing to even attempt to accommodate us…. We’ve been here several times previously. Never again!
