GD! This place is good. Steak tacos are amazing. Chorizo tacos amazing. Pineapple water very addicting. Staff is very friendly. Now I have 2 reasons to make the drive. Dinner at Tacos Jerez and Italian Ice at Jhny's. Make the drive out. You'll be happy you did!
Their mexican tortas were excellent, I had a chorizo torta which was homemade chorizo, The carnitas were fresh and tasted that way, The bread used for the sandwich was excellent, it had a lil slight sweetness to it and yet savory enough to maintain all the qualifications that made the total taste authentically Mexican, the bread was light yet filling, and the bread was prepared correctly, not too crunchy, yet grilled enough to have a satisfying texture and bite, I was really in the mood for a torta, and tacos Jerez hit the mark. Also portion was good and value is worth it.
Always a great experience. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get the food, but it's worth the wait because everything is so fresh. We usually get shrimp tacos, but their enchiladas are also great. And it's a bonus that everybody that works there is very nice and helpful.
The food here is awesome. I have been to a whole bunch of taco places however this is my new favorite. The salsa here is delicious and borders on an addiction. Excellent service. Very reasonable prices. Will for sure be back. Just moved to the area after living in downtown Chicago for twenty years. Definitely my favorite thing about the area.
I have tried so many taco places and this place by far is the best taco shop I've eaten at. I am so glad this place opened. The tacos are authentic, delicious and have so much taste. The prices are perfect for the quality of the food. The customer service is exceptional. This has become my favorite restaurant. I highly recommend it.
Have been going a consistently for months. The food is always good, and the staff is always friendly. Their breakfast burrito is great in the morning after a night out
Ate there last night with my kids-- I got a chicken burrito and they got a sampling of a bunch of different tacos. We live in Virginia and are spending a couple of weeks in the area visiting family. All I can say is that the food here is vastly superior to any Mexican [sic] food you can find in Virginia, and we were quite pleased with the burrito, the tacos, and the homemade salsa. Eating out anywhere has become shockingly expensive in the past few months, but overall I found the prices here to be reasonable, and certainly not out of line with what I find myself paying just about everywhere I go. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone seeking tasty reasonably priced Mexican food in the area. I will definitely be returning for 'Taco Tuesday' ($2 tacos) next week!
These tacos are legit! The steak is amazing!!!! Highly recommend! A year later and Taco Jerez still beats any Mexican place around. Had the best pastor burrito and their green hot, hot sauce is amazing! Seriously as a resident fat man, I cannot suggest this place enough. So freaking good!!!
Went in for some tacos had barbacoa, pastor, Cameron, and asada to try out the place. Went back up to the counter and ordered another cameron, asada, tripes, and pastor. Ended trying their quesabierra and buying some sauce too. Their Jerez sauce was great on the Cameron and pastor. That peanut spicy sauce is the best spicy sauce from a taco place. Everything is truly unique as it is made fresh in-house daily. Gotta try their varieties of aqua Frescas! The entire experience was a concerted effort from the back of house staff to the front end. Definitely a must try, you will not be disappointed.
Glad I stopped here. The alpastor was so good with the spicy salsa. The horchata was perfect, not too sweet and the other tacos I tried were good a well. The carne asada taco meet was seasoned. The service was good and the people were very nice. This place is clean and well kept.
I had their quesabirria, and it was probably the best quesabirria i had tasted. The consome had some shredded meat in it and it was great. The outer tortilla was crunchy while the inner tortilla was soft, in combination with the flavorful meat inside and the cheese, it was so good. I definitely want to go again, no glaze
The staff here is always so nice and friendly and I am addicted to the steak burritos. I enjoy coming here for lunch during work. I come here too often, it's making me fat and I can't even be mad about it 🤣 Also, the salsas are great too, I especially like the avocado salsa.
I had the pleasure of dining at Jerez Tacos recently, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food surpassed all expectations - the authentic tacos and other Mexican dishes were bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. What truly stood out was the impeccable customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to accommodate any special requests. It's evident that they take pride in providing excellent service to their patrons. Jerez Tacos truly captures the essence of Mexican cuisine.
We ordered the pastor tacos and Birria torta. Super flavorful, the most flavorful pastor I’ve ever had. Service was kind, loved the atmosphere. I often prefer vegetarian options and I’m so excited to come back and try their options. Making this our new taco place!
The food here was really good. I got the shrimp quesadilla and the lady that brought us our food offered me the chipotle mayo with my quesadilla and it was the best combo ever!!!! My boyfriend got the steak burrito and it was so good. The meat wasn’t chewy and it had great flavor. I’ve tried other taquerias around the area and by far this is the best place I’ve eaten.
Carnitas were delicious here!! Staff are super sweet, sauces have a good kick (not as spicy as I would prefer), and prices are very reasonable! Definitely would check this place out :).
This is one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had. Made fresh and hot, it’s got lots of freshness with avocado, not to mention cheese and sour cream. And the salsa!!!!!! Each salsa is amazing, but my favorite is the fresh green. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff are super nice. It would be a mistake to miss this place.
My husband and I hired Taco Jerez for a 50 person party. It was an amazing experience. The staff (Ivan and Jesus) , the set up, the breakdown and the food were all amazing! Every guest was happy. Food was delicious. We would not hesitate to hire them for events again
Great authentic Mexican food and fantastic service! The peanut salsa, while very hot, is the best around. The quesabirria tacos with consume don't get any better!
This makes you wish Taco Tuesday were Everyday lol. Food was fresh. Staff was helpful. Bright establishment. Clean establishment. Several tables available. I ordered loaded fries, tacos, and received a free chips and salsa (they is given to all dine-in customers). The staff was friendly, and the gentleman helped me put my order together. The meal took 7-10 mins to prepare, and the staff brought me the meal on a tray, along with napkins and silverware. The tacos were delicious. The loaded nachos were tasty too. Both meals were plentiful. Perfectly cooked meat. The ingredients tasted fresh from the garden. They also have a large variety of menu items, and they all look great.
Ive been coming here consistently and I've never had a bad order or anything I didnt enjoy from here.Tacos Jerez has the best mexican food around hands down.! I rarely even go to my local mex restaurants anymore that I've been supporting since I was a kid.. Tacos Jerez is by far the best spot in the whole area if u want good quality mex food. I've had almost everything on their menu and I've never been disappointed. I see reviews complaining about the prices... but u pay for what u get and the quality here is unmatched. The prices are fair. If you think otherwise go to "Taco Maya" & spend $20 for a 3 taco dinner.. this place is cheaper and better.!!!
This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I always like keeping it local and wanted to order from a Latino restaurant since it was the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month. I ordered the 3 Mini Quesabirria Tacos with Consome. There wasn’t anything mini about these tacos. They were filled up beyond what I expected, the right amount of seasoning and overall delicious. I’ll definitely be ordering other food from here in the future!
Found this amazing taco spot in Arlington Heights between Golf and Algonquin Road. Came on a Tuesday, select tacos are $1.99. Both the al pastor and carnitas are excellent. There gorditas were superb as well especially the chicharron, you don't see many places offering it. Friendly service, they always check on you and honest about prep time. Food was super fresh and you know it was just freshly made. They give free chips and salsa when dining in. Definitely a must try when in the area if you wre craving Mexican food. Fair prices and plenty of parking. Definitely will come again!
Update 4/03/24: the tostada rajas is the best vegetarian food I’ve ever had in my life. I just can’t get enough of this place! Finally got a pic before I inhaled all of my food. Tacos Jerez is right by my job, so I stop here often. The food is so fresh and delicious, and their chips and guacamole is my Go To for a light lunch. I plan to try the breakfast tacos soon so I will update more on the food when I have pics and details. But I want to tell you something that is the most extremely important thing about a restaurant after the food/safety/cleanliness. (Which TJ knocks out of the park, btw.) They used to staple their bags of chips and i lost a staple inside the bag one day. I didn’t ingest it, I’m not going to sue, this is not that story. But I did ask that they not staple the bag the next time I was in and mentioned what happened. The next time I went in (3-5ish days later?) no bags of chips were being stapled. They heard me and my concern and implemented a change immediately! Like, what other places do you go to do that? (Seriously, I’d like to know because those are my kind of places.) The ladies at the counter are so kind and so professional, the customer service is top notch. And I ❤️ the name. Simple but unique. If this review has been helpful to you, let me know with a thumbs up!
WOW! The Steak breakfast burrito was to DIE for. It was HUGE and filled with delicious steak. The prices are reasonable and the same as other local spots. I am so happy to have found my new go to burrito spot.
Food is always fantastic and freshly prepared. My favorite is the quesa birria! Absolutely amazing every time! The restaurant is a great addition to the area! We will continue to come back here!
Fish tacos were phenomenal! Carnitas were wonderful as well! I've had better quesabirria and consume elsewhere but they were still good! Chicken tamale was yummy! Service was amazing! I got all this for only $30 so great pricing! I forgot to order a drink and the waiter brought me a water before I could even think about it!
Food was excellent and the wait time was very reasonable. Absolutely loved the taco combo, just wish they gave you more hot sauce.
Place was wonderful!!! The asada gordita and the crunchy fresh sope were perfect. Amazing tacos too great portions!! I was so impressed I skipped out to the parking lot with joyous glee!!! 5/5 so authentic tasting
This place is fantastic- really really good Mexican food and friendly staff. I love the burritos- the perfect size to be stuffed full with yummies while also being easy to keep intact while you eat. The salsas are also all so delicious! This place is right by my work and it's always a thrill to bop over here on my lunch break.
Delicious! We loved the Al pastor tacos so much they brought us a free one to try with pineapple! It too was fresh and delicious! Very reasonably priced and super friendly staff! Highly recommend!
This place so good !! steak tacos are delicious !! been to alot of places in the area and I have to say this is the best if you want real Mexican food this is it. Food was so good can’t say enough people are really friendly here also the cake is delicious too me and my family loved it .
I had a very positive experience at Tacos Jerez! It's a fast casual restaurant with a decent amount of seating for groups. The food was fresh and delicious, and very reasonably priced! I especially recommend the Tacos Dinner and try all different styles. I would definitely come here again. Thank you!
This taqueria is impressive. We savored an Al pastor burrito (bonus for pineapple chunks) and a taco dinner. The chips were enjoyable, and the meats packed a punch of flavor. In my opinion, the pastor takes the lead, closely followed by the barbacoa. I'm anticipating my next visit. The portion size offers good value. The salsas also added a delicious addition to each bite. Al pastor's delight, Savory, tender, divine, Taco dreams take flight.
My wife and I visited this place last sunday. We are not from that area but decided to check it out. Not many places are 5 stars. We where not disappointed. They have QUESABIRRIA CON CONSOME! I've never had it but my wife had it brought her childhood memories. I tried the tacos Asada/Steak, Lengua/Toung and Barbacoa/Pulled Beef (but better). They where so good I also ordered a Carnitas/Fried pork and Al Pastor/Marinated Pork. They have 4 hot sauces. The regular green and red. The other two Arriero (not sure if it's the correct name) and a Spicy Peanut Sauce. They are good on their own but mix them and it's an explosion of flavour in your mouth. I recomend them. As if I had not eaten enough I still ordered a hand made Quesadilla de Asada con Flor de Calabaza/Steak and Pumpkin Flower (cut in half to share w my wife) and I asked for my own consome. All the food is very flavorful and a good size for your money. If I had more room I would of ate more. They also have Hand made Gorditas, Burritos, Tortas and Tostadas. If your in the area I recomend it. Stop by try the QUESABIRRIA it's a must. I did not try their waters (Pineapple and Melon) but I heard other customers there that it was really good. Their Horchata is great it didn't have that sand like stuff at bottom of your cup. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will be back, hopefully soon.
The atmosphere was clean, the food came quickly, and it tasted fresh. When I went they had only been open for a handful of days. The owners were very nice. I really enjoyed the horchata and the pineapple drink. I would absolutely suggest you try them. My burrito was very good. I wish they offered chips and salsa anytime you seat to dine in but it was fine purchasing it as a side. I would go back.
Very good and tasty tacos. Steak and pastor my favorite. Salsa coud be a little bit more spicy 🌶️
Food was good and had flavor. Not sure why everyone is saying it was flavorless. Got the taco bowl for lunch and the serving size was perfect. Had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes, definitely not bad for fresh AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Will be going back again. Also the customer service was excellent, very friendly.
Food is good here, it just feels pricey for what you get, but the quality is decent. Quesabirria here is pretty good, consome is light colored and flavored though. Tacos are good. They have breakfast options, the chorizo burrito wasn't what I expected and small for what I'm used to for Mexican breakfast burritos but it was alright. Service here is great and ambiance inside is nice and clean and they have personal touches on the decorations. The horchata here is probably the best in the area.
Good food, decent pricing, and a lot of variety. Some of which I didn't know they had so I will have to try them next time. Considering there were a lot of orders ahead of me, the wait wasn't as bad as I had expected. Unfortunately it is a small store, so seating is tight. Lunch crowd when I arrived, so I already expect a wait for my order. I Recommend ordering online for pickup to help save some time.
Tacos were ok, nothing to write home about. Got the birria tacos and the "consomme" was nothing but clear beef broth with onions and cilantro floating in it. Very disappointing especially since they're priced the same as better restaurants in the city
Updated review, went down to 3 stars. Quesabirrias were still delicious with the consume, but I asked for no cilantro and I got cilantro on my quesabirria tacos and on top of the consume. I wanted onions and they were not on the quesabirria tacos. My husband had the chicken burrito and it was lacking in flavor and it was very small. Not enough chicken and fillings. Very disappointed. Service was terrible this time, the lady at the front register was overwhelmed and looked very annoyed. It's worth a stop for quesabirria only.
The food used to be really good. Just came in today and it seemed a little worse than before. $1.99 tacos still a good deal. However, when the guy rang me up for veggie tacos the price seemed off. Left a bad taste in our mouth since the veggie tacos were also not good at all.
The food is pretty good. Rated a 3 overall for the communication and misrepresentation of their deal. Tacos are discounted Tuesdays and Thursdays, but only certain types. I ordered on a Tuesday, getting the 3 taco dinner. When I didn't see the discounted price, I asked and was told it was because I ordered steak which wasn't on the discounted tacos list. That's my fault for not noticing, but also wish they had pointed that out when I ordered. So I went back again Thursday, this time ordering 2 dinners for myself and my girlfriend and both strictly from the listed meats discounted. I asked them if the discount applied before scanning my card. I was told yes. Once I got my receipt, the rep walked away and I quickly saw there wasn't a discount. After getting ahold of another rep, I was told the taco dinner doesn't apply for the discount. There is nothing anywhere that says this and why didn't the first 2 people say anything about this? No apology for the miscommunication either. Food is decent, but don't expect much else
Nice place. Friendly staff. Very good food but $18 for a freaking burrito and a bottle of water! Are you people crazy! Not coming back at that prices!!!!!!!!! And now you're charging for chips and salsa!
Me and my family went around 9:00pm and the guy that was up front been the cashier he was rude and wanted us to order fast mind you it was our first time in this restaurant and also the one of the girl working there was really rude as well we asked if we had salsas included and she rule said yes red and green sauce and lime. My food was cold
The food is just okay. The breakfast burritos are the smallest I've ever seen, especially for the price point. The eggs were not fluffy, the chorizo had a weird after
I haven't had a chance to eat the food, the customer service was polite and nice my issue was for a family of 4 it was nearly $50 for tacos and that's ridiculous
Extremely disappointed since I ordered a steak burrito extra meat. Not to mention the cost was high for such a tiny burrito and a beer ($20). I never mind paying a little more for quality and this was a good quality meal but was more of a big taco unfortunately. They also are not eco friendly choosing to separately bag 2 small salsas.
Ordered two chicken tacos and I got one and a shell of a taco. Kind of expensive for the proportions considering how you dine out. Been to many authentic Mexican places including Chavas Tacos in the city. This place has decently good food despite its petite proportions but its coffee is some of the worst cafe de olla I ever had. I have been trying to quit drinking coffee. I would suggest for those looking to quit to get your cup here because I $1 cup of black coffee at speedway was better than this. That being said they hung up the phone when I called about the tacos and didn’t offer me any compensation at all. Very poor service and long wait times. Only giving two stars because the food is authentic Mexican quality but not the greatest.
Food was good, not the best, but ok. Wasn't a fan of the texture on the corn tortillas. They were soggy and spongy. The staff seemed friendly. What compelled me to write this review was the pricing. $4 a taco? That's borderline theft. This place is a one and done.
One taco al pastor is 4.15$ it tastes like 2/10,it's not worthy of costing that much. The al pastor taco was flavorless
Ordered a taco dinner and got 1 of my tacos wrong. Also ordered 4 stand alone tacos and they got half of those wrong also. The tacos I did get were very mid, Flavorless, sad, overall very underwhelming based on the ratings I see on here. I called and did end up getting a small refund for the mess up on the wrong tacos. Still waiting for confirmation on that part. Decor was nice, very modern with hints of traditional Hispanic decor things like decanters and color themes.
HORRIBLE experience I literally cried 😢. I admit that I'm gay and all I know is that the cooks were making fun of me. All I see is both of them staring at me and laughing at me as i wait for my food. They look down at the food they're preparing for me and they laugh again and I'm scared that they did something to it. I don't know if they're homophobic, but I as I was heading towards the exist they stared at me again and started laughing harder. The cooks are cruel and disrespectful. I talked to one of the ladies before I left and all she can say is "oh don't worry about it it's ok". That's so not okay, my feelings were hurt and I cried when I got in my car. Instead she should've handled it because no one should have to feel uncomfortable and disrespected at a restaurant or anywhere. They clearly don't care and it's sad. The food is great but the cooks are really Horrible human beings. I'm going to tell everyone that they are homophobic and possibly are playing with customers food. Never will come back! Thank you tacos Jerez for not valuing your customer. I will not let this go and I'll be sure to share this with the world everyday until something is done about those cooks.
Very very very slow and menu is not layed out or explained very well when ordering. $3.99 breakfast burritos. Ordered 4 and my bill was $26. never told me that a chorizo burrito was $5.99. No paper menus. To expensive for what you get.
If you are Mexican, stay away from this place it’s not for us, it will highly disappoint, you’re better off at Taco Bell. En toda la comida le echan muy poca carne. La comida no tiene sabor. And to top it all off it’s over priced when you’re not even getting what you pay for. If you’re a wyte person, this place is definitely for you. Unseason food and over priced items. Just how yall like it. Over all, I definitely think this is catered to other people cuz a real Mexican will tell you this place is trash. 🗑️ I would give it 0 stars if I can. And only gave the service 3 stars cuz the girl behind the counter is gorgeous.
Front disk she got aattitude .after I spen money for food I ask her to use the bathroom just to wash my hand she say its close then she say ok go with ugly way 😒 woww really
This review is for the food only. The food was not good at all and over priced. Those reviews has to be fake because there is no way. Food was very bland. It was hot and fresh but just not good at all. No flavor what so ever. The girls up front was nice
So far I’ve only been there 3 times & all 3 times I’ve been given attitude by the 2 girl cashiers. I’ve tried to order over the phone & they don’t know the sizes of soups & when I order in person they’re just plain rude. I’ve tried ordering in both English & Spanish & it’s the same service in both languages. To top it off, I’ve never seen the owner at the restaurant to make a formal complaint. Although the food is good, it really makes you rethink whether or not to order from this place. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
Terrible customer service. I got my food at 8:30pm and am kicked out right when it’s served to me. I was told I can’t eat inside even though the place closes at 9pm. The food took 15 min to eat..How about don’t own a restaurant unless you understand the hours of operation of your own restaurant. Kicking a customer out before close is uncouth and not standard. Know how to handle a business!
Ordered for delivery, food was not good. Horchata taste flavorless like they use water and powder and not homemade. Chorizo taste disgusting not authentic Mexican chorizo. The tamales taste like the maza is not fully cooked, I felt like I was eating sand. Lastly the salsas were also flavorless and not spicy at all. Only good thing was the steak tacos. Hopefully I don’t get sick.
