Came in to order takeout greeted by incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Was given a complimentary tea while sitting down to decide. Very helpful in advising on menu items and food was great. Got the Gyro, Chicken Shish, Sujuk pide, and burghal as a side. Only thing missing was sauce for the Gyro/Chicken but maybe could have asked if I ate there. Bag of delicious sesame bread was an unexpected treat that they throw in.

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Chef Grill today! We ordered the mixed grill the portion was generous, and everything was incredibly delicious. The meats were tender and perfectly seasoned. We were very satisfied with the quality for the price. What truly won us over was the complimentary tea served after the meal it instantly transported us back to Turkey. It’s one of those small but meaningful gestures we miss the most in the U.S., and it made us feel right at home. We remembered to take a photo while eating 😅 but we highly recommend giving this place a try!

The Chef Grill is a newly opened Turkish (Zabiha Halal) dining location located in Elk Grove, IL. Ordered the family kabob meat platter and each piece of kabob, lamb, bursted with flavor with exquisite taste. The chef and staff were really friendly, and a very cozy fine dining environment. Prices are reasonable with the amazing quality of food you can order here. Complimentary Turkish tea is also given too! A must try spot as they opened recently in earlier this year in March 2025. Check them out!!

Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The food was amazing, even the bread was good. The atmosphere was great (except for the classical music that did not fit the setting) and the service was great too. We had the meat platter and all of the meat was good.

If you want to experience quality, quantity, genuine Turkish cuisine and a array of choices, with a smiling staff and dedicated chef, this is the place to be, the price is fair and totally worth it no matter how far you need to drive

The only note I have is that the portion size is a bit small compared to the price, and it would be great if this could be reconsidered. This restaurant is chefs kiss. I have never been to a restaurant where I've enjoyed every single item I've received, especially when ordering mixed grills. We ordered a caramel cappuccino, mixed grill, honey cake and received 2 teas. Every meat was so juicy, absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed how the rice and bread portion is a side and the meats are the majority of the dish. Money well worth it. Will be back.

We came for brunch with a large group today and had a great experience. Our server Züleyha was always available, attentive, and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. Breakfast selection was fantastic. In particular, fried eggs with kavurma stood out as a delicious traditional Turkish flavor that we truly miss from home. Alongside the variety of açma (pastry), the cheese-filled katmer was another highlight and paired wonderfully with breakfast. After trying so many different items, we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable and affordable the final bill was. It was a very enjoyable brunch experience with great food, excellent service, and fair pricing.

I just had the most amazing experience at The Chef Grill, brand new Turkish restaurant in town, and I absolutely have to share it! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warmest, most inviting atmosphere. Everything about the environment made us feel like we were in Istanbul rather than here in the city. We had their steak, and it was absolutely incredible! We came here for the first time tonight with some friends and had a great experience! Got there around 7 PM and the place was packed, so we waited about 30 minutes for a table. Totally worth it—the food was amazing! Big portions, super fresh meat, and the Turkish tea was delicious. Our server Karina was super friendly and really took good care of us. The turkish cuisine here is better than the ones I tried in Turkey ... Adana kabob, Iskender kabob, Beity kabob, turkish salad and smoked eggplant were out of this world ...if you happen to be in the area definitely give it a go. You won't be disappointed... we also got complimentary tea (a turkish tradition called 'Ikram') ❤️

How basic rice usually is - at this place it’s flavorful! veggies are fresh and colorful. You can tell they are not poor quality. 5/5 stars and even more!! I’m a pretty picky eater and usually not a fan of Lahmacun, but this place completely changed my mind. The Lahmacun was flavorful without being overwhelming, and I actually really enjoyed it. We also had the Sujuk and ground beef pide, which was so fresh, perfectly baked, and full of flavor. The service was excellent — our waiter, Ken, was friendly and attentive, and the blonde woman working with him (I didn’t catch her name) was just as welcoming. Ken even gave us a salad on the house, which was yummy (and I usually hate tomatoes, so that says a lot!). They made the whole experience feel warm and authentic. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a great spot for lunch. It was so good that I’ll actually be coming back tomorrow for their breakfast! Delicious food, great service, and kind employees! The food came exceptionally fast and the employees were refilling our tea, water, bread! The lahmacun was probably the best I’ve had in Chicagoland—authentic, paper thin, yet so flavorful and filling. It’s one of my favorite Turkish street foods, and they absolutely nailed it. The restaurant is spotless, the staff was very attentive, and they even surprised us with complimentary desserts (tiramisu and Black Forest cake), both of which were delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try more from their menu!

Nice restaurant serving Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. Kitchen is open and it is fun to witness meat and vegetables being cooked in the coal grill. From appetizers, to main course to desserts, all items were flavorful and served with fresh ingredients. The Turkish tea that comes complimentary is amazing as well. The place is small, they mentioned they have plans to expand soon. So it would be a good idea to place a reservation before the visit.

A certified halal restaurant and we Had dinner there. The grilled items were delicious and flavorful. Mixed grill platter had different meat combinations and it’s good for 5-6 people. I would recommend them to provide sauces like garlic or mayo etc with the grilled meat even though they provide sides with the platter. Overall this place is recommended

Absolutely outstanding experience! We ordered the mixed grill and the mixed appetizer platter, and every single item was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The meats were tender and seasoned beautifully, and the appetizers were authentic and delicious. To top it off, when we ordered the kunafe—crispy, warm, and perfectly sweet—the owner and head chef Ibrahim surprised us with complimentary Turkish tea, which was such a thoughtful and welcoming touch. This place was amazing!! The hummus so fresh and the bread so soft. Me and the wife got the Adana kebab and wow just wow. Food falls apart in your mouth. Just delicious. I will definitely be back. Great food and service. This restaurant has passionate staff that work tirelessly to deliver quality food. The lamachun, adana kebab, Atom, Cig Kofte are all excellent! The Ayran yogurt drink is made fresh and the plates, glasses, cutlery are elegant which completes the experience of dining here.

The restaurant looks relatively new and clean. The food was incredibly delicious and satisfying, with generous portions and complimentary fresh, warm bread. The three of us shared a Chef’s Mixed Grill for 2–3 people, a mix pide, red lentil soup, and a dessert, and we had leftovers to bring home to enjoy! We were full and satisfied. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, great for any group size and especially ideal for a family outing. The staff was very friendly. The only small downside was that the service could have been a bit more attentive, we had to call the servers over for water refills and to place our orders. After reading some of the other reviews, I wondered why we weren’t served the complimentary tea that many people mentioned. It would have made our experience so much better if it had been offered.

I've dined here twice for dinner this past February 2026, on the Tuesday nights when they serve Kokoreç! Absolutely DELICIOUS and authentic, just like the Kelle Paça and Cig Kofte! The food is flavorful, hearty and like nothing I've ever had in Illinois! Even their nearby competitor - A Thousand Tales - serves nothing like this food (which explains why I've usually been the only non-Turkish diner each time I've dined here!) My server both times was Karinna--she was very informative, pleasant and efficient (which is why I tipped her 50% each time)! The inside of the place is clean, cozy with interesting avocado green colored booths, and brightly lit, with lots of plants all over the place and relaxing Turkish music playing overhead! I will definitely be back!!!

I had a really nice time at The Chef Grill. I ordered hummus with bread, beef pide, and the mixed grill platter for two. The service was great, and the ambience and vibe of the place pleasantly surprised me, it turned out to be a really nice spot. The food was good overall. I just wished it had a bit more spice, but since it’s Turkish cuisine, the flavors were authentic and enjoyable. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Exceptionally hearty food that makes you feel warm and fuzzy like that. The complimentary freshly baked hot pide bread that comes alongside butter is to die for, it immediately reminded me of home as soon as I smelled it. Kebabs are great, the house ayran is excellent, service is the most friendly as you’d expect from a Turkish eatery. But what stole the show for us was the desserts? We didn’t expect that! The pistachio San Sebastian cheesecake was perfection and the chocolate sheet cake tasted like the ones my mom would make. I must go back to try the baklava! Don’t forget to get the complimentary tea!

Not many Turkish restaurants in the burbs. I went to Thousand Tales, that one was pretty solid but also very busy. Parking can be horrible on the weekend. This one is much more manageable, parking is way easier. At least you don’t have far to walk. We were a group of 4 and we just walked in without reservation. I recommend getting a reservation on the weekend. Middle Eastern people love getting dinner late, especially 7 PM to close. You’ll be surprised at how busy it still gets at like 9 PM and after. We ordered cig kofte, lamahcun, king chef mixed grill (4-5 ppl), pistachio and cheese kunefe, orange pistachio semolina with ice cream, and pistachio cheesecake. This is about 4.5 but I’ll round it to 5 here. Prices are competitive with Thousand Tales. Service is better here and much more attentive. -cig kofte 4 - this is a traditional Turkish cold dish. It has some spice. Good flavor. Make sure you squeeze some lemon onto it before eating. You eat it with lettuce. I didn’t love it but it was interesting to try. -lamahcun 5 - Turkish pizza. We got two pieces, 1 piece is big enough to split between two people. You add the ingredients to a piece, then roll it up like a burrito. That’s how you eat it. These are pretty good and a popular appetizer. -king chef mixed grill 5 - this has chicken shish, chicken adana, lamb shish, lamb adana, lamb chops, lamb shawarma, meatballs, beyti kebab, arugula salad, rice, bulgur, and French fries. French fries are really crispy. The rice and bulgur are delicious, you can taste the flavor. I like to eat the arugula salad on top of my meat with the sauce. It gives it more taste. All of the meat was very good. Chicken was surprisingly tender. All of the lamb and meatballs were great. I highly recommend this, it’s a bit of everything. -pistachio and cheese kunefe 4 - this is not a bad dessert. Compared to the other two we had, it was okay. -orange pistachio semolina with ice cream 4.5 - I would recommend getting this if you like orange. I like the ice cream in the middle. It is heavy to eat and filling. -pistachio cheesecake 5 - not very sweet at all. Very smooth. Probably one of the best desserts there.

This place is Legit!! The food is soo good!! Even better than the food in Turkey itself. Iskandar kebab was so delicious and good quality of meat. I got Adana kebab which was Legit one of the best i have had in the US. We also got beyti kebab, walnut salad and the grilled eggplant side dish which all were fresh and masterfully prepared. The chefs are Turkish and definitely know what they are doing. Wonderful service and one of a kind turkish tea made it a joyous exprience for our party. Will be back when in chicago metro..

When I came here, I thought it would be regular, but when I ate here, the food was really awesome! I had a pasta dish alongside some chicken and beef, and got to drink some lemonade! Adding on top of that, the restaurant was able to have some beautiful decor and even a fish tank in the room, which was nice. I would recommend coming here, because the food is halal, and a wonderful place to be in for everyone!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Easily a 10-star experience!) I visited The Chef, a Turkish cuisine restaurant, and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. I ordered the lentil soup, mozzarella sticks, and lamb chops, and every single dish was cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich, fresh, and exactly what you hope for when you walk into an authentic Turkish spot. What impressed me even more was the level of service—especially at 9 a.m. I honestly didn’t expect such high-quality food and attentive service that early in the morning, but they completely surprised me. Everything came out hot, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The lentil soup was comforting and full of flavor, the mozzarella sticks were perfectly crispy, and the lamb chops were tender and seasoned just right. You can tell the chefs take pride in what they serve. Overall, this place truly deserves 10 stars. Great food, excellent service, and an experience that exceeded my expectations. Keep up the good work!

Excellent Turkish food. You know its legit when you can smell the delicious grilling meats as soon as you park your car. Had the 4 dip appetizer, the smoked eggplant dip and the beet dip were my favorite. The lahmacun was perfectly prepared, and very flavorful. The combo feast for 2 had multiple meats. Each one perfectly prepared, except for the lamb chops, those were over done and tough to chew. Dessert was a made-to-order kunafa. Absolutely mouthwatering, and perfectly complimented by the Turkish tea. Yusuf provided warm and attentive service. The one and only thing I would change is the glaring white lights. I feel the ambiance would be enhanced with softer yellow light. Can't wait to return!

The owner Ibrahim was highly welcoming and the staff especially Anton was highly accommodating, friendly and attentive ,and he gave our party of 7 a highly excellent tier service and experience of the Turkish along with the rest of the staff cuisine. The appetizer mix dips was amazing with the bread ,and the cig kefta is highly recommended! If you're into savory pastry, Cig Kefta is the way to go! It's meat on oven backed layer of dough comes with fresh veggies to be wrapped within and rolled like a wrap. Lastly, I was mesmerized by the tenderness of the al the meat and the flavors with kassive King Chef mix grill! Our whole party were very happy with the food and definitely would come back for their free black tea and wonderful deserts like kunefe and Baklava.

Alhamdulillah we had the chance to eat at The Chef Grill in Elk Grove Village and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The restaurant serves fully halal food, which makes it a blessing to find such authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine you can enjoy with peace of mind. The staff was friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that instantly reminded me of the hospitality in Istanbul. The food was authentic, full of rich flavors, and beautifully presented. We started with the hot appetizer plate and every item on it was excellent. The falafel was flavorful and crispy even though I am usually not a fan. The kibbeh had the perfect texture with a savory filling, and there was a potato patty that was especially delicious. You could tell everything was freshly prepared with care. For the main dishes we tried the iskender kebab and the beyti kebab, and both were outstanding. The iskender kebab came with tender slices of halal meat served over pieces of bread, topped with a rich tomato sauce and a drizzle of melted butter with yogurt on the side. It truly brought back memories of meals in Istanbul. The beyti kebab was wrapped in lavash bread, covered with tomato sauce, and served with rice and grilled vegetables. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The service throughout was excellent. The prices were on the higher side but the quality and authenticity of the food made it worth every dollar. Overall it was a wonderful halal dining experience and a place I would happily visit again inshaAllah.

First time here and this place hit the spot! We got the cigara borek (crunchy and paired well with the sauce). The iskender kebap was hands down one of the best I’ve had in a long time! The manti was delicious and well seasoned. The kunafa dessert really hit the spot. It was freshly made to order with the perfect amount of sweetness👌🏻 We will definitely be back!

Was in the neighborhood and stopped by for an early dinner. The service was friendly and polite, which made for a nice start. I ordered the pide and lahmacun—both were amazing! The crust was perfect, and the flavors were spot on. I also tried the Adana kebab, but it was a bit too gamey for my taste; the lamb flavor was quite strong, so I probably wouldn’t order that again. They also make their own yogurt drink, Ayran, and OMG—it was delicious! Super refreshing and perfectly balanced. Overall, a pleasant experience with great service and some standout dishes.

Food is good. But it is very pricey for what you get regarding portion sizes. Maybe a side salad added to some of the entrees. I feel the portion sizes will be larger during a dine in. This was a carryout order.

If you are looking for fresh quality food then you’ve found it here! The Chef Grill is a nice little restaurant that serves authentic Turkish delights and Mediterranean fare. The inside is decorated nicely and offers a nice setting for dining in. We ordered carryout as we were coming from the gym. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and had a glass of Turkish tea while we waited for our order. They have so much to offer on their menu and there are items that cater to everyone’s diets. All the food is made out front and you can see that they are all very fresh ingredients. We ordered the kababs and Iskender plate. The take out was nicely plated and packaged very nicely. The kababs and most meats are charcoal grilled here which gives you a unique and delicious flavor. The Iskender was generously portioned and was very flavorful with the in house made bread. We were so hungry that I didn’t take pics of the carryout but we will be back to try other items.

tried lamb chops, Adana kebab, chicken shish, chocolate cake, brownie, and pistachio dessert. The lamb chops were good, though the portion of rice felt quite small for the price. The Adana kebab was flavorful, and the chicken shish was equally enjoyable. All the meats were tender and well-seasoned, making the main courses satisfying. Unfortunately, the desserts were disappointing. The chocolate cake lacked a rich chocolate flavor, the brownie tasted more like a milk cake with a chocolate ganache topping rather than a proper brownie, and the pistachio dessert was average, with the chocolate filling barely noticeable. Overall, the restaurant delivers on flavorful and tender meats, but the desserts need significant improvement

I'd give the platter 4 stars for the taste, but it is extremely overpriced. Every single dish on the menu is. Rice pudding is good

Disappointed with the service and the food. Never got our drinks. Online was 38 per person but when you walk in is 55 per person. Gap between soup and meal was 10-15 min. 5-6 small pcs of chicken with a small portion of rice does not worth almost $170 with the tip. We were NOT able to pick from the menu since we were fasting and they got only iftar menu🤦🏼‍♂️ which makes no sense at all. We had food we didn’t want to get bc it was already too late to cancel. Ppl next table never got their food, they literally asked for the refund. Honestly just wanted to leave and never come back. 2 stars and tip just bc of our Ukrainan server, who came in later, and did her job properly. Stuff is getting lost if there is more ppl.

Today we visited your cafe after seeing your advertisement and hearing good reviews from our friends. The food was very tasty, especially the lahmacun. It was made almost exactly like in Turkey and we really enjoyed it. However, there was one big minus that disappointed us — the service. The service was poor. We waited a long time for the table to be cleaned, for the waiter to come to us and to take our order. Also, some tables are placed very close to each other, which was a little uncomfortable. Overall we liked the food very much. It was delicious, but a little overpriced. Thank you, and we hope the service will be better next time.

My experience today was the worst I've ever had. While the server was genuinely amazing when I walked in, the customer service provided by the manager and owner was awful. I asked to purchase only the falafel, which is sold as a combo with hummus. Despite telling them I did not want the hummus, they insisted they could not sell me the falafel separately and would still charge the ridiculous price of $7 for only four pieces. I pointed out that most Mediterranean places sell falafel by the piece to accommodate customer preference, but they would not budge. The worst part: when I got home, the falafel was visibly unappetizing and so overwhelmingly salty it was inedible. I will not be returning due to the high price, inflexible policy, and ultimately, the poor food quality.

Unfortunately, this is the common problem with many Turkish restaurants, and it seems your establishment is no exception. If the food is good, the prices are extremely high; if the prices are reasonable, then the food quality becomes an issue. I can honestly say that your dishes are delicious, and I won’t take that away from you. The staff also do an excellent job. However, your pricing policy is nothing short of a scam. A few days ago, I placed a to-go order: four slices of wet cake and four slices of cold baklava. When the bill came, it was $83. I’m sorry, but this is nothing other than daylight robbery. Even in any state in the U.S., at a luxury restaurant, you wouldn’t find similar desserts at this price. Even at a top-tier restaurant, dessert, a drink, and the tip combined wouldn’t exceed $60. Can someone please explain the cost of these items? What exactly justifies this price? If someone came out and said, “this is the cost, this is the labor, and this is the overhead, so that’s why we charge $83,” then fine — I’d say you’re right. My friends and I have come here many times and enjoyed our time. But I keep seeing the same pattern: once a restaurant gains a bit of popularity or picks up some customers, within a few months, either the prices skyrocket or the quality goes downhill. Are you trying to run your own business into the ground?
