It was a Great experience. My hubby made reservations which I believe are needed. We went for a Anniversary. First time doing a fondue. Place was nice and mellow lights low. Our waitress name was Alex and she was absolutely great. She explained everything on the menu for the most part there so much. Gave a suggestions and answered any questions that I had. Cuz there are different cheeses, different entrees , different chocolates. She was Awesome. We could get refills on some things if we needed any. We had the dinner for two. And it was just enough food to make us full. My drink was just right. Plan be there for at an hour if not 2 . they do not rush food they wait till you're actually done with your courses before bringing out the next. Definitely would go back for a special occasion and to try some other things. 1 of my top places I've been.
I loved this whole experience! It was our first time going to a fondue restaurant. The Server did an excellent job explaining how everything works and giving recommendations upon request. It felt very private and quiet, which I loved immensely. We went for a girls day out, but this would be an excellent place for a date :)
We went here for my wife's birthday. The rose petals and candles were an added option that I chose during making the reservation. Only $10 which I found to be reasonable, and it added a romantic touch. The food, and service were awesome! Would definitely recommend for a date night, special day, and or a romantic evening.
What an amazing place,So it was our first time at the restaurant and we where there for my daughters birthday,it was her idea and we were all in.and we loved it. It was a great experience,I will say this it is not a fast pace, lots of food piled on your plate but we are a family that likes to try new things, and we look forward to going again,Thank you to our server she was great, very communicative, a very joyful person,Thank you all for making it a great birthday for my daughter.
My wonderful boyfriend brought me here for my birthday and we had a BLAST! The service was excellent and Lucas did a great job making our meal as enjoyable as it was delicious! He also answered all the questions we had about the food (as well as how the duck was prepared). We got to meet and speak with the owner as well who was super friendly as well as accommodating. We were so stuffed at the end of the meal that we didn’t get a chance to try the chocolate fondue! Will definitely be coming back!
Overall fantastic it was our anniversary and our waiter made sure to make it as special as possible. Food was delicious, service was excellent, even though the drinks was strong. We made a reservations we walked in gave our name and was seated right away. (No Wait) Definitely will be going back.
Enjoyed My 69th. Birthday At Melting Pot June 6,2025. With My Kid's & Grand's. It Was A Sweet & Fun Experience. Even If I Had To Cook For Myself 😁 The Manger Host Waitess & Other Staff. Went Beyond To Make My Day Memorable 🥳 Me & My Family Cook Using The Pot. Plan On Bringing My Mother Next Time. We Gotta Get Our Grilling On.
This was my first time going here. I was alone due to the last min change of plans. I went on a Thursday, and it was on the 19th when they were running a great special! It was a huge blizzard outside, so the place wasn't busy at all. Otherwise I suggest making reservations. Being new to this all I asked my server for his input. I saw the Wisconsin cheddar was beer based. Im not a beer drinker, and I know lagars can be strong. He said he could do less beer or no beer. I was also interested in the Quatto Formaggio. He described that, and I went with that one. After the cheese sat for a little bit of time, the parmesan got really strong. I was not a fan of that. Next time, I would ask for them to use less parm cheese. He brought out the bread, a few stubs of carrots, and a few pieces of celery. Then he brought out my apples. I was disappointed with the lack of veggies I got. Cheese is the heaviest course, and less bread would be better. The server told me it's not a sprint it's a marathon. Take your time. When I was finished, he brought my salad. The Cesar salad was delicious! I chose to add a mini entree. And wow, was that awesome. I got so many veggies! I got 3 different kinds of meat, 3 different kinds of veggies, and so many choices of dipping sauce. I think 6 different kinds. When he asked if I wanted panko, I said yes, and then another sauce came out. It was all so delicious! Then on to dessert. This was my hardest choice. You couldn't go wrong with any of the chocolates. Now I don't do white chocolate so much, and I wanted more than a plain one. So it was so hard choosing between turtle, rocky road, or smores. I did turtle, and it did not disappoint! It was just a small amount of chocolate, and I was surprised about that. I almost didn't have enough to finish because there wasn't much there. It was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back. I was so excited I forgot pics of the cheese spread. It was a bit cramped on my table, but I was fine. I do think they need bigger tables for 1 or 2 people.
Excellent food and fun time. Delicious fondue. Server was attentive and friendly. Cheese and chocolate portions were a bit small compared to other Melting Pot locations. Not enough for you to dip all the items you are given. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
The food is just.. Amazing.. No other way to describe it. What a great experience. Our group of 20 got the big night out. This included 1 cheese fondue, 1 salad, 1 entré, and 1 dessert fondue. This took about 3 1/2 hours of glorious deliciousness. We tried just about every fondue on the menu..lol
Amazing experience. I am vegan and the entire staff accommodated me so well. Sat us at a table with 2 burners so myself and the non vegans could all enjoy a meal. The food was phenomenal and the wait staff amazing. Our server Calyn was extremely attentive. Tons of food for a good price. Can’t wait to come back!
Wow what a cute and great spot to celebrate my birthday with friends. They also do cute birthday plate messages, just felt like the experience was 100% and server was really patient with us. Service was 10/10! 100% recommended - its a must try!
This was our first time going to any Melting Pot location, and we will defintely be back. This is a place to make everyone put their phones away, slow down eating, and just enjoy time with each other while doing something entertaining. Be prepared for a longer evening than your usual sit down restaurants, especially if tiu have younger kids! Timers and watches help for cook times. Don't be fooled, either, 4 courses = a lot of food! If you've never been, be prepared to share your choice of chocolate, cheese, and cooking method with the entire table. Choice of salad, drink, and protein options are all individual. It was a bit confusing at first, but once our waiter explained everything, ordering was easy (except for the sharing fondue choices). We originally chose the cast iron because it is what we cook on at home; we love the flavor. So, first, the manager came over and asked how everything was. Our only complaint was that we tasted way too much wine in our cheese. We were told to ask for bouillon rather than wine next time, which we will be doing. Then, upon hearing we were going to use the skillet, he moved 3 of us to a 2 burner table (they were slow and had no large party expectations). He wanted us to try the Melting Pot way of cooking right in the broth in the pot. I am 100% greatful that he moved us and let us experience two cook methods. Choose any cooking method other than the cast iron, though! It is fun, flavorful, and tastes so much better than just being on a griddle. All their sauces were unique and the 3 I liked most were different than that of my family. There are great selections, from the drinks, to the side sauces, to the desserts. Every course was better than the last and there was something for everyone. The manager at this location is the reason we will be back. He fixed the biggest issue we had (too much wine in the cheese), and made sure we didn't miss out on an experience. Thanks for the great evening and the outstanding customer service!
We celebrated my daughter's graduation, here l. The waiter Zac was very nice and helpful. We felt at home, I highly recommend this place!
Here is one of my son’s favorite restaurants. It’s good for family meal. Kids will having fun cooking their own food. We visited here many times before so, we had almost everything on the menu. They offer both complete fondue experience and a la carte. For complete fondue experience, you can pick one from each section starting from cheese section, following with salad, moving to entree’s, ending with chocolate fondue. Our favorite is cheese fondue. We normally order Wisconsin Cheddar with another other cheese. Yes, we have double cheese fondue. Today we had Wisconsin Cheddar and Bacon and Jalapeño. We didn’t get any entree’s or chocolate fondue because we get too full. During your meal, you can ask for more fruits and vegetables. My son likes baby carrots so, we always ask for extra baby carrots with our cheese fondue. Mushroom and potato can be refilled upon your request without extra charge. We like Coq Au Vin with garlic pepper steak for our entree’s and Yin&Yang for dessert. All chocolate fondues are very sweet. If you have sweet tooth, you will enjoy them. They are too sweet for us. There is a lot of free parking in front of the restaurant. Reservation is not necessary except special occasions such as Valentine’s Day.
New dining experience vibes is here…. Plz go for it & try some new things ! We love it our family love this entire things. Food is good & dessert is fabulous, enjoyable ❤️ fish is so easy to make so plz order the fish your accordingly.
Such a great experience! Something fun to do on your birthday or any occasions 😻We had much fun
Spent my 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend here and it was an excellent experience! Our server, Alex, gave us amazing service and really made our night. It was truly the best service that I’ve had in years. I wish I could have given her a bigger tip!
We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary. Reva was so wonderful and we felt very well taken care of. The 5 course celebration special was perfect.
Our waitress was PHENOMENAL. Jessica, I think. She took our photo and her eyelashes were bomb. She also made me feel beautiful. She was training another employee and it was still smooth as could be. 10/10
I tried fondue for the first time and everyone recommended me to try this place and it was worth all the hype! Just toooooo good to be true! I loved it! I would give this place a 10 star rated but the max I can give is 5 :( Perfect dessert place in Illinois!
We had À la carte. As it was our first time, we tried all signature dishes like the classic alpine cheese fondue. In the èntree fondue we chose chicken potstickers, herb crusted chicken breast and shrimp. The cooking style was coq Au Vin which had burgundy wine, mushrooms, garlic and scallions. The yin & yang chocolate fondue is a must try. It was the best fondue experience.
Went for our 4 year anniversary service was excellent our server took the time to ask our story and questions about us to make us feel welcome. 100 percent would recommend
Went here for the first time to celebrate my 3 year anniversary with my partner. A new experience for the both of us, we enjoyed it and the food was so good! Definitely would recommend for a date night out. We booked through OpenTable! The photo included was the only photo I grabbed of the food, and they were so sweet to include the chocolate cheers plate :)
We have eaten many many times and have never been disappointed! The owners have a genuine approach to ensuring each customer has the best dining experience possible. Great staff, great food and a great place to celebrate special occasions or a night out! Still the Best!!
It was my first time at the Melting Pot in Schaumburg and It was a great experience! Antoinette was amazing by making sure we have a wonderful time! I recommend this place 100%! You won’t regret it!
The best choice for get a fondue and melt chocolate dessert. It's 100% recommended ever. I love that place. Please make reservation. Tell them is you are celebrating something. They make to you feel wonderful. Gluten free friendly.
Kara is awesome. Cheese is awesome. Our experience here was awesome!! Kara DESERVES a MONUMENTAL raise and bonus. She elevated the whole vibe and ambience.
We were a group of 9 for lunch 8/24/2025. Our server Reva was amazing. Friendly , accommodating, patient with the first timers. She made our experience great.
We went to The Melting Pot in Schaumburg for a date night and had such a wonderful experience. Our server, Cailen, truly went above and beyond and made the entire evening special. From start to finish, Cailen was attentive, knowledgeable, and so friendly, explaining everything perfectly without ever rushing us. The service really elevated our dinner and made it a night we’ll remember. Exceptional food paired with outstanding service—this is exactly why we will keep coming back. Thank you, Cailen, for making our date night so enjoyable!
Candy at The Melting Pot deserves her own little trophy (or at least unlimited chocolate). It was packed—the kind of busy where you can feel the whole place buzzing—and somehow she was still out here being calm, hilarious, and genuinely present like she wasn’t juggling a million tables. She checked in at all the perfect times without hovering, kept everything running smoothly, and still took a minute to have real conversations with us—like actual human-to-human vibes, not the scripted “how are we doing tonight?” autopilot. We left feeling taken care of and like we’d just hung out with someone who truly loves what she does. If you’re going, do yourself a favor and ask for Candy. She’s the secret sauce. 🍫✨
Family gathering celebrating 2 birthdays w good drinks, 3 courses fondue and salads w very good food. A few tough steak pieces. It was fun when kids were teens and excellent now they adults. Menu is so memorable and still yummy. Take your multi generational tribe and enjoy fun w super nice server(s).
Went with a large group and had the place to ourselves. Service wasn’t as good as I would have expected being the only table, but the staff was friendly. Enjoyed each of the courses - French onion cheese was excellent. The land and sea gave a nice variety of great cuts. The s’mores chocolate was also delicious. For a 3 hour meal experience, the cost per person wasn’t bad. About half of the group had cocktails and it was less than $90 each.
Fondue is always really good at the Melting Pot! The only thing about this location is that it's at a strip mall, which attracts a lot of families. There's nothing wrong with that, but there were/are some parents that would not watch their kids and let them run around while these poor servers were carrying very hot liquid. There also was not much walking room, so they impeded the servers quite a bit, who had to find ways around them. They were pretty busy when we came, so our server didn't come as often as we'd hoped, but he was very good and really funny and we understood he was busy. All in all, a pretty good anniversary dinner!
Always love coming to Melting Pot. Have been fortunate to visit various locations including the ones in Charlotte and Madison. Never been disappointed. But today....hmm.... Service was super slow; probably because it seemed like our waiter was tending to the entire section of 10 tables. Can't blame him. To be honest, with the current situation with the labor market, I can't even blame the restaurant. I didn't deduct the 1 star for that; they get a pass. However, the teriyaki beef was super disappointing. Check the picture-- left it alone after trying one; just couldn't do it. It was chewy and just weird. I would recommend avoiding.
So this was our first time coming here, we both have had fondue at another Italian restaurant but this is completely different. This is a Fond experience! So we went with the Complete Experience for Two which is their 4 course fondue meal starting at $94. It starts out with a cheese fondue, they have a variety you can choose from we went with the Classic Alpine which was listed as their signature item and that comes with a board of bread, apples, and veggies to dip. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Classic Alpine because the white wine taste was pretty overpowering. Next was the salad. We both went with the Melting Pot House Salad with their house dressing. This too is listed as a signature item. The salad was good, the dressing is a vinaigrette. Next was the main course we choose the iron skillet cooking style and I went with the steak lovers and she chose the Classic which was listed as a signature item. It was fun to be able to cook your meat right there on the table. I like a medium steak and was able to easily cook it to a medium and the meat was tasty and tender. I also tried the shrimp, chicken and pork from the Classic and they all tasted great, I especially liked the marinated pork, it have a great taste. As for the sauces I stuck with the teriyaki and plum sauce for my stake. Last but not least comes desert. We went with the s’mores dessert fondue and it was exceptional. They bring out a tray with a variety of treats to dip. My favorite was the rice crispy and strawberries. Our total bill with drinks came out to $140. Over all it was a fun experience and the food was really good, I feel that it was a little pricy.
Definitely a new experience for me. Very friendly server good at her job. You cook your food yourself. But it was good and the desert was excellent. Expect to spend upwards of two hundred dollars with tip.
Partner and I went with a friend couple, one of which was celebrating her birthday! I'd never had fondue before, and I knew she loved it, so this was a great choice. Our server Saif was absolutely wonderful, and if there were presentation awards, he should win them. He was affable and pleasant and attentive, and made excellent suggestions as well as being able to answer any questions we had. It was delightful to watch him prepare the fondues table side, that was a very fun experience. We were pleased with the variety of vegetables available, the meats, the dessert spread, the cheeses, and the broths. HIGHLY recommend that Mojo, that was so good! The actual venue seems slightly dated, especially the ladies bathrooms, though perhaps it was the lighting, and due to the fact the sun was still up though we were going at dinner time. Overall I really enjoyed the experience. It was super fun. I'd say I'd love to repeat it maybe once every couple years, but likely not every year. (Also, we enjoy a variety of restaurants so this is less of a reflection on The Melting Pot per se.) Would definitely recommend for a unique experience though, and definitely at least once.
UPDATE: We spent our anniversary at Melting Pot in Jan 2023 & Jan 2024. It appears the issues from before have been addressed. We received spectacular service again. Every year we celebrate our anniversary at The Melting Pot even during covid. We love the bouillon fondue with steak and veggies. Mostly we look forward to the cheese fondue appetizer and the milk chocolate dessert fondue. This anniversary we waited 1 hour past our reservation time before we were seated. No apologies, nowhere to sit and no water offered. Very disappointing.
1st time doing this for my birthday with out of town family First thing is burner on table wouldn't stay lit.. then waiter spilled water all over us broke a glass on table as they were cleaning up i had to suggest they move us glass every where.. 356.00 no discount for the inconveniences we experienced.. was an experience I'll never do again
I decided to take my family here today, and it wasn't a great experience. For starters, the picture I'm adding here shows the giant spider web that was attached to the booth we got seated at. I've never seen a restaurant that charges the prices you spend at a fondue restaurant, have well-developed spider webs on the booth. While I'm on cleanliness, my daughter wouldn't even use the washroom because of the toilet seats being covered in paper and filth. On to the service. Although our waiter was informative about the menu, from the time we got there, we didn't get the feeling he wanted to serve us. First, we were warned about the time it takes to complete a meal. It felt like he was hoping we would leave. Next, we were told, "This isn't really a kid restaurant." We came pretty early, and the restaurant was filled with kids, so not sure why having our two kids here would be an issue. Overall all the food was ok, but not really worth it in my opinion. You would be better off going to a place like Geja's Cafe. It isn't significantly more expensive, the atmosphere there is second to none, and you certainly won't see spiderwebs in their establishment.
Besides our waitress, which was very nice, everything else was just… bad. We were greeted by a gentleman, whose first words were “do you have a reservation” which followed by what felt as 10 min wait at the host stand with absolutely no communication. He kept asking people who are coming if they have a reservation and.. that’s it. No further explanation. I was appalled that I can sit there stare him in the eyes and have no clue am I sitting today at a table or no. One of the groups walked out. Alright fine, maybe it’s not his thing. The old fashion as good it looked in the picture, was a lazy attempt of a whiskey pour with bitters not even stirred. Food and experience was okay, but that host boy with the nasty crocs from the kitchen almost ruined it for us. First impression matters.
First time here and it was a cool experience. The food was okay but pretty pricey for what you get. The reason why I gave two stars was because our waitress was very rude and almost ruined the entire experience. She came up to our table and asked what we wanted to drink in a rude manor without even introducing herself. As I told her I wanted to start off with a water, she walked away immediately without even asking my partner what he wanted to drink which was very unprofessional and rude. She came back to our table not even a couple minutes later and asked what we wanted. As we asked her questions about the menu, she seemed very annoyed and gave us snotty answers almost like we should have known everything. We told her we needed more time to look and she just walked away without saying anything. We almost felt like she was trying to hurry up our dinner. She seemed to lighten up towards the end, however, the way she treated us in the beginning almost made us walk out. Chances are we probably won’t go back.
This place needs a thorough cleaning and is very slow. The staff is excellent and tries hard, but it’s disappointing when they don't have what you want after a 40-minute wait, even if you reserved a table. It was once a great place.
Staff was incredibly friendly, but service was incredibly slow. This is “spend your night here” kind of place. You’ll be here for over two hours. Course two came before course one did. Our fondue had so much dry white wine in it, it was all we could taste and unfortunately it made it inedible. The steak was pretty chewy and tough. Best part was the dessert but you can’t really mess that up, then again I also thought you couldn’t mess up melted cheese.
I received an email about a special promotion for a really great price and went that night b/c of it. When I got there I asked about the special and asked if I could substitute the shrimp b/c of an allergy. I was told no, my only option was to forego the shrimp and pay the same amount but not get that portion of the meal. I went back and looked at the email and it said nothing about no substitutions. I wrote an email to the restaurant and no one bothered to reply. I think it's awesome they have specials but it would be great if they were better about accommodating allergies. This used to be my favorite restaurant. I refuse to go here again, but will go to other franchise owners if I'm in another town. I still love melting pot just not this one.
Update may 2023. Dirty silverware, twice ...then bugs were coming out of the table and window area. Small grey bugs. We were outta there! Great place to have a fun fondue experience. Staff is amazing, Riva was excellent. Had an awesome dinner for my birthday!!!.
Went on a Sunday around 2:30. Restaurant was mostly empty but 2 tables had guests. No staff in sight. Stood at the front waiting to be seated for 5 minutes and no one came. Ended up leaving.
The restaurant was uncrowded but grossly understaffed. The restaurant manager looked like she was having to bartend. Took 35 minutes to get drinks. 2 1/2 hours to get out of there. Food is average but grossly overpriced. We spent almost $500 for 5 adults and 2 kids. Generally a bad experience. Avoid at all cost.
This business is unethical and fraudulent. We were overcharged (explanation below) and we hope the owner read and resolve this before we escalate this matter to the authorities. We started dining at 7pm and did not get our full course concluded until 10pm because the service was so slow. We were pretty confident that our server (and possibly all the staffs) were under some sort of influence, he was acting high or drunk. As of the fraudulent act, we dine in as a group of 6 and ordered 3 sets of the full course menu which is $57.50 per person. We told the server to split the bill 6 ways but he did it 5 ways. He ran our cards without confirming the final check. We then asked to void the transaction, which took him almost 30 minutes to do so. We plan to just put everything in one bill but our new bill is $80 more expensive than the previous one. We did question that and he just dismissed it by saying “Illinois tax is high” Since the service was so slow and we just wanted to get out of there, we just paid. However, we realized the next day that we are charged as a party of seven even though we dined in as a party of six!!! We called the restaurant to resolve this issue but the manager told us “we will get back to you by friday”. This is so suspicious, scammy, and fraudulent. Even when we reported that the server was under influence, the manager just dismissed it. Please initiate the refund and take action on this matter.
