The food here was great. Not immediately off the freeway for travelers, not unreasonably far for something fantastic on your way to the bay. The cocktails were great and we tried two sandwiches that were both awesome. The staff was great and everything came out quickly. If you're headed north take the extra 10 minutes to stop here instead of fast food.
The beet salad was delicious. So nice to have a unique choice for a salad. The mushroom soup, OMG. Perfect for a rainy day! Highly recommend the Thai chicken, if you’re up for medium heat.
Their menu and specials are a foodie wonderland and I'm a little sad I have to watch my hypertension so carefully because it's medication resistant. I've ordered or cobbled together a keto plate in dozens of places at this point that range from terrible beef to sysco patties either terribly or well prepared. This was a delicately hand formed Patty. The only caveat, medium was a little squishy for me, so if you're super sensitive to that order it medium well. They did offer to regrill it for me if needed but the char on the outside was so lovely and it was nice and warm in the middle so I ate it and it was delicious. I did splurge on the zucchini fries because it's one of my weaknesses and they weren't over salted at all, and were delicious and savory and a little hint of zucchini sweetness and the ranch is great. Not speckled mayo, but actual ranch. My husband did say his burger was a little on the salty side, that could be because he eats what I eat most of the time, but if you're salt sensitive, maybe ask for a little less. They're super accommodating. I really don't know what else to say other than somehow they made a simple keto plate taste and feel like having a fun restaurant meal for me. I just can't hardly eat out anymore without needing to go to the ER, so restaurants that are willing to accommodate special requests are such a gift. I'm a good cook but I really miss having safe places to dine out. The fact that this one is unbelievably delicious is great. I hope we are in the area again, I'll absolutely stop by. The music was also a vibe. Loved it. The service by Philippe (sp?) Is bar none. What a spectacular asset to have in your community.
Stopped for late afternoon, casual lunch, on our way back to socal from the mendo coast, what a delightful find!. Had a delicious lunch sharing the NY cut steak sandwich and the delicious beet salad. Would have added a bit more onions, aioli and pickles to sandwich but the meat was tender and delicious as were the crispy curley, fresh fries. The beet salad was excellent and plentiful, with enough to take 1/2 home! The best part of the meal was the friendly service by Phillipe, (obviously a veteran in the industry) who immediately made us feel comfortable, commodating our road tired pups with water and attending to every little detail of our needs. The restaurant has a comfortable hip fun vibe for any age group. Plan to make it our regular stop to our northern trek...thanks!!
The Cork & Plough is a restaurant that perfectly combines a welcoming atmosphere with excellent cuisine and friendly service. The food is fresh, flavorful, and carefully prepared, while the drink selection is diverse and of high quality. With its relaxed setting, it’s great for family meals or gatherings with friends. A place worth visiting again and again.
Great little stop in the middle of nowhere. This place has excellent food, great drinks and it’s set up very well. My wife had the beet salad which was phenomenal. I had the New York steak sandwich and it was excellent. Of course I added but a little extra horseradish aioli which I think amps it up even more. My brother had the pork sliders and said they were some of the best he’s had. Highly recommend coming here to enjoy a meal!!!
During our return trip from Paso Robles, we decided to stop for lunch at Cork & Plough. Our group consisted of both adults and children. The restaurant was very accommodating, managing to fulfill various specific requests from our party with considerable patience. The atmosphere of Cork & Plough is slightly different than your typical dinner, and the menu reflects that vibe. We were pleased with the portion sizes and the freshness of the food. While nothing was extraordinarily exceptional, everything was satisfactory. The skirt steak sandwich and the salmon pasta got good feedback from the tea The ravioli serving was quite generous. Overall, Cork & Plough proved to be a delightful choice for a lunch stop.
Very Nice & vibrant place. Stopped in to celebrate co-worker birthday (her friend had previously been to Cork & Plough, to which she highly recommended us to visit). The ambiance is great, and the acoustics are not well cause of others' conversations throughout the place. Food presentation is awesome, and flavor is good; although for my taste, the seafood risotto needed a touch more flavor. The others with me ordered the Wild Salmon and the Ribeye special; which looked and tasted great from their response. I will look to visit again & again when I'm in the area.
Nice stopover between Bay Area and Santa Barbara. We stopped here for a late lunch on our way back from Santa Barbara. We ordered cheese ravioli, chicken sandwich, chicken tarragon penne and curly fries. The food was tasty and portions were large. The restaurant is neat and clean and the service was quick.
We were looking for a place with a good craft beer selection and good food. We found delicious food here. We started with the fried zucchini which were hot and had a nice crunchy breading and came with a delicious homemade ranch. I had the chicken Alfredo which was creamy and garlicky. I only wish that they would do fresh parmesan at the table. My friend was intrigued by the salmon sandwich and really enjoyed it. They liked the different sauces and flaws. Overall a really nice dinner. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Definitely felt like the place could have used another waiter as our waiter appeared to be handling all the tables.
Stopped in for lunch- given the huge number of Mexican restaurants I m thinking that we should have gone to one of them? Our visit was based on the reviews. The facility was nice and ambiance was cute. Service was prompt and helpful Food took almost 25 minutes! The beet salad was a big hit and got two thumbs up! My chicken pot pie was a bit of a disappointment Bland. Overall I’d say we’ll be back but would try something different.
The food is not worth the price. Very avg cooking. Our steak was cold when they served us. The only good thing is that their waitresses are nice. $50 for steak $26 for chicken parmesan If you are a foodie and care about food quality and making your money worth it, don’t come here. If you just need food maybe this is an ok place. Chicken Parmesan was very bad, the fettuccine was very dry and meh.
I really wanted to love this place since we drive through the city every other weekend for work. It turned out to be a bust. The waitress wasn't as friendly and didn't understand portion size or to guess how many boxes are needed when told 4 were needed (she brought 3). There were also no signs on the door or anywhere in the restaurant, that they only were taking cash. The waitress upon seating is didn't inform us either. If this was the case I would have at least liked to have seen a sign/ been notified one way. We had cash and we're able to pay in full. The food was ok. Hit or miss with the it's received. I would say it's return for sure for the amazing zucchini fries, but nothing else. The French onion was too salty, the French dip didn't have any flavor, and the beet salad was just not good. And only upon leaving did another co-worker asked if wanted a bag for our stuff or not. Maybe our experience was completely based off of service and I hope that's the case. I'm not sure if I'd be back, except for those zucchini fries.
