So my car got a flat, and I asked if they had a jack I could borrow. They immediately helped me and I forgot to ask for the young lady's name that helped me take it to the car. But I've eaten here before the food is awesome too. Anyways, everyone is kind and helpful and I recommend everybody who's reading this to go. The atmosphere is great :,)!!

We went on a Saturday about 3:00 so it was very crowded BUT completely worth it! My kid had a blast and I was surprised of how attentive the workers were with cleanliness of the tables and buckets as well as the pace of getting out the orders. The other food and drink trucks are such a great touch so people like me who don’t like seafood can still go enjoy it. I give it a 10/10 for sure! We will be going back a few times more before the season is over this year.

My go to place for boiled seafood. I usually get it to go but the outdoor seating is nice and they have plenty of other options if seafood isn't your thing. Also a play area for the kids. I don't mind driving all the way to Northpark for them because the flavor is always on point. I always get 2 flavors both with extra spicy.

This place always hits hard for crawfish. Anytime the season comes by we hit this place at least 4-5 times. The service is good staff is friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.

now i only gave the service a 4 star cuz on this day. i waited almost an hour for my food. which it was packed and i was being patient. however when i asked at the window about the snowcrab s, how many clusters it would be for $23.99 the young lady said 2. now after waiting that hour. i didnt get my crabs with my order so i notified the waitress and then when she bought it to me it was very small so i took it back. and of course the young lady that rung me up machine was working to give me a receipt which i spent over $100 including tip. i went back to the window and just asked for a refund. but it took them forever so i stated just give me something else to sub for that since i was hungry by then and didnt want to hold up the line even further. the owner eventually came to my table with the snowcrabs and was apologized about the sizing however i understand. and i told him i love it here plus he's always made a way to my table it seems everytime i was there and asked how was everything whether he remembers it or not. and i did promise him i would complete this review. folks always bashing him and his business but i remained patient and was very understanding. i ended up leaving with alot of seafood and it was just as good the next day as whe i got it on that friday evening.

Was some of the best crawfish I’ve had. Seasoned perfectly and has all the sides I need with it(potatoes,corn,sausage,shrimp) I mean cmon they have it all. The environment is also so amazing and friendly. I Showed up with just my friends and I felt like that was the place to be and that we need to keep coming back. Definitely recommend bringing the guys or girls to come eat here.

I’ve been to the Atascocita location 4 times in 3 weeks. Never a bad experience. I’ve had to wait once, but I didn’t mind as they explained they were waiting on a fresh drop. You get well cooked hot crawfish. I’ve had the regular spicy and the garlic spicy, both were delicious.

I have been here a few times and never had a bad experience. We definitely come for the crawfish, which are always 10/10 and they have a spice level for all palates. There are other food options and food trucks available if crawfish is not your thing. Price is OK but you do get what you pay for and that makes it worth it. Two knocks worth mentioning are the live music can be a little loud (particularly for my kids) and the kids play area, although great to have, is looking a little tired and can be a little to rambunctious for smaller kids.

Make sure you tell them you want some ravioli in that pot. Ran out of crawfish. An hour wait while they cooked some more. The food is fabulous! Wow!

Expect back porch crawfish boil and you'll be happy with the environment. Crawfish is great. Expensive at $9/lb. You're encouraged to bring your own drinks. They have seating under a large palapa and outside. No A/C. I've rated it a five, but again. It's all about setting your expectations.

It's a great place to relax outside with kids...There is always a water slide/bounce house for kids to play.Food is always fresh and waiting to be ordered... There are assorted food trucks there just in case you don't want what's on Swamp Donkeys Menu.. There is usually a live musician there for your entertainment... Seating is all outside on long benches accompanied by large fans. Great place for birthday parties..

I try to visit swamp donkeys at least once a week and it never disappoints! My daughter loves the crab regular spicy with corn and I get crawfish, the hotter than your gfs sister or extra spicy with potatoes and mushrooms! 10/10 recommend

This place is a truly a vibe that feels uniquely HTX. The crawfish was delicious and decently priced. It's BYOB, but there was a beverage truck in the parking lot serving beers and cocktails to-go. A really popular spot. By the time we were leaving, the walk-up line was wrapped around the perimeter of the tables and the drive-thru line was wrapped around the whole parking lot. I could spend all day there hanging out with friends having drinks and sharing seafood.

It's outside eating but we had a good breeze, they had a bouncey house for the kiddos and a water slide as well. Kept the kiddos entertained. The menu also has kid friendly options. Your allowed to bring a cooler and if your ice gets low they will hook you up. I had the shrimp and crab and it was seasoned well, I got butter mild but it still had spice to it. My family all got the crawfish butter hot, they said they were delicious, and good size. Also there are a few food truck options, there's a snowcone place, a Cajun truck, and a Mexican truck. The kiddos had snow cones and one of the kiddos had a quesadilla from the food truck, she destroyed it so I guess it was good 😉 bathrooms are straight porta potties, they were like a sauna but clean.

As one that "did not" like crawfish I was surprised to find myself grabbing one after the other. The flavor is spot and tip your hat to the cook. If you haven't tried the ravioli let me tell you I will have two scoops with every order. Staff was awesome. Billy we will be back thank you for the amazing food and time.

We Came for Dungeness Crab from Houston but they ran out! Snow carb and shrimp it is. We can early 6.00 the place was quite empty at this time. Food is excellent. Probably come back another time but need to come in the morning. The staff is very friendly love the quality of the service

MOST definitely my new favorite place!!! I’m no longer trying new places thanks to Swamp Donkeys and that’s in a great way! Sadly my pockets only allowed me to get the crawfish 3/$33 1c&1p garlic spicy for now and it was so delicious! Not one single piece tasted bad or was previously dead. The flavor, the juiciness, the seasoning and the peel were AMAZING! My husband who isn’t a fan of crawfish stated this is one of his top place and that was off of ONE PIECE! Lmfao for me that’s a win all around! I love it I love it I love it! They even had a small kids menu so my 2yr old was able to eat as well. They had a very well kept, well organized seating area both uncovered and covered with heaters when needed. They had a nice speaker with music playing. Literally so excited to go back and get more! 🦞🦞🦞🦞

They have the best crawfish. They have different flavors heat levels. I always get the hotter than your sisters girlfriend flavor which is very spicy but so good. The size of the crawfish are a pretty good size. The eggs with crawfish are even better. They also sell live sacks but you would have to call before you go to make sure they still have them available. You can eat there or go through the drive thru. I like to get there right when they open and dont have many cars waiting. Last time i had to spend a hour waiting in line when i go around 2pm. And they run out of eggs fast. If you do decide to eat outside where they have tables you might have a hard time looking for a spot to park or get out the parking lot due to limited space.

I ordered crawfish for them for Mother’s Day weekend. I got them Friday, not knowing that they went and survive until Sunday. I called the owner asked him what I could do to keep them alive and he said exact words I’m sorry, sweetheart. You should’ve said that you needed them for Sunday please keep them on ice for tonight. Bring them back to me in the morning and I will give you fresh ones on Sunday so your Mother’s Day will turn out good so that’s what I did and I could not be more pleased with the size the quality the service just everything about the owner of this place is just amazing. Not only did he go above and beyond to help. Make sure my Mother’s Day was good. I don’t know any other business would’ve took back two huge socks of crawfish without charging me. The kind of spot that makes you wanna kick back, crack open some crawfish, and forget your worries. And y’all… the FLAVOR? Top of the line! Seasoned to perfection with that kick-you-in-the-tastebuds kind of spice. It was so good I had to wash my hands twice.. once for the mess, and again just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. They had a big ol’ fan blowing to keep the summer heat in check, but after that meal, I was the biggest fan. Customer service? Impeccable. The staff made us feel like family, and not in the “grab-your-own-plate” kind of way — they were friendly, helpful, and genuinely glad we were there. And it wasn’t just for grown folks. I saw kids laughing, families gathering, and everyone having a good ol’ time. Total family environment with a big dose of Cajun love. If you’re looking for crawfish done right, a place to ride into and relax, or just wanna feel like you’re at a backyard boil with people who know their stuff.. Swamp Donkeys is it. 5 out of 5 stars. 3/28/25. This was my first trip to Swamp Donkeys in a couple years. The crawfish were absolutely delicious and nice size. We ordered the spicy garlic and i highly recommend them. The right amount of heat, awesome peel and absolutely juicy! Corn, potatoes, and especially the boiled eggs were clutch! Ready to go back already!

This place has set the bar for crawfish in my opinion. Great flavor, huge mud bugs, reasonable price. The sides, you request how many or how much you want so there is no getting skimped. They also have a drive thru so you can get em and go. If you want to sit, they have plenty of covered seating. They also have a little play area for the kids, one is a water slide. We will definitely be back! Update 5/9/24 Swamps is still killing it with the best mud bugs around. Prices this year have gotten a little ridiculous but swamps has been decent, today's special was 5lbs for $25 and you can't get much better on price than that. I finally tried their hottest flavor, "hotter than your girlfriends sister", and let me tell you... they are hot but you still get the awesome flavor. I've already been here twice this season and plan on going more before the season is done. If you've never been I highly recommend you give em a try. Update 10/20/24 They are still the best around for crawfish, but now they are doing all you can eat crab for the off season. Still highly recommend trying them out, sooooo good.

What can I say besides they don't disappoint. Well seasoned crawfish(spicy garlic), no need to peel, filled with juice from head to tail. Potatoes were cooked perfectly, not soggy at all. Tried out Swamp Donkeys Crawfish & Seafood Kingwood for the first time today and will definitely be back. The wait was not long at all for it being 3pm on Mothers Day weekend. It was 93° out and we were perfectly cool eating outside under the cabana. Everything was extremely clean, service was great and the dj played 80's and country music while we ate. They had a mother's day special so we got the HTYGS spice level and ordered 15lbs for me and my 3 kiddos plus corn, potatoes and drinks. Everyone was full of flavor and we had zero dead ones. They were however some of the biggest I've ever seen. The spice level was real but we prefer it that way. We also ordered from the barbecue truck and it was some of the best we've had. They had a water slide bounce house for the kids to cool off in which was definitely appreciated. Will definitely go back. This is not a paid review nor did we receive any discounts or food in exchange for this honest opinion. ❤

A good place to hang out with friends and family if u are tired of air-conditioned environment. There is a small slides In shade with a small pool for small kids.

Service was great! Please be aware that this is a true crawfish boil type experience. I used the drive through and my shrimp, mushrooms, and sausage given to me all mixed together in a thick plastic bag. No plates, no plasticware. I opted to pull around and eat at a picnic table, which has rolls of paper towels and buckets to discard towels and peels. There are 2 sinks on one side to wash up when you're done. The food was very good, but unfortunately too spicy. I would go back, but see if they're able to prepare food without the spices.

If you don’t like crawfish or shrimp this place is not for you! If you enjoy a bit of a spartan atmosphere then it’s a great place to go! Little on the pricey side so it’s not for daily dining unless you have extra cash to dine out that way!

Tiktok hyped it up. It was good but it was not spicy for the garlic spicy flavor. Give it a try.

I had stopped going here a couple of years ago. We decided to give them another try this season. Boy, am i glad we did! The food was excellent!!! We had the crayfish, of course, and the shrimp, snow crabs, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Everything was fresh and great tasting. Preparation was perfect. The crayfish and shrimp were a very good size and easy to peel and eat. We had the lowest level of heat and were fine with that. My only complaint was the wait for our order. They are busy, so be prepared to wait a bit. Also, if it's sunny outside, be sure you get a table in the shaded area. You can bring your own drinks.

Wife and I decided to check this place out for V-Day!! I was very happy with the service, the environment and the food. Ordered the "Love Bird" which came witb 3lbs crawfish, 2lbs Crab, Potatoes, Corn, and Mushrooms. Added a 1/2lbs of shrimp and an order of Ravioli. Asked for Extra Spicy and the food was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. Keep in mind, this place is in a small but very nice Food Truck type establishment. They have outdoor seating in a large tent with music and activities for small children. I didnt see any alcohol being sold but I believe this is a byob (may need to fact check) Enjoy!

This has been my number 1 go-to place for crawfish for the past 3 years. With that being said, I often only order the Garlic-Spicy flavor which is 10/10 for me. Perfect level of spice and flavor, I highly recommend it for all the garlic lovers. I recently ordered my crawfish with “Hotter than your girlfriend’s sister” as my spice level and flavor and that was a terrible purchase for me. The heat level is great but it is SUPER SALTY!!!! Outside of the heat, it taste like pure salt. Not a fan. I’ll stick to what I’m used to from here on out. OVERALL, 4 stars out of 5 from top to bottom: Do check this place out if you’re in the area. :)

I got the Valentine's Day Boil for $69.99. The crab was fantastic. The crawfish are small, but that's to be expected so early in the season, according to my husband. Shrimp were good. Loved the potatoes and crawfish dip. Some ladies are friendly, others not so much. I'll be back!

We love our crawfish. My sister in law got me hooked on them a few years back. My sister in law has been going to Swamp Donkeys since they first opened up. She always makes sure to bring me along when we're back home in Texas. They've always made sure that our food is hot and delicious. They spice the crawfish real well, and their potatoes are delicious. Their sausages are great. And if you like hot, get their mushrooms, they got a spicy heat. There's outside covered seating.They don't care if you bring your own drinks, so we always pack a little cooler full of soda pop and tea. The waitresses Very efficient and Customer driven.

I honestly did not like it. I got the spicy garlic and it didn’t have much flavor…a few of them were dead with the big white eye balls, and a lot of claws just by themselves. It had spice but that was it. They weren’t that juicy and the juice tasted like lightly seasoned water..just wasn’t for me

Crawfish very good and flavorful, but everything is SUPER expensive. Theres a special upcharge for every little thing, even flavor. Side of 5 potatoes & corn etc add ons will come up to an extra $20. Never any specials going on with sides included also.

The food is not worth the wait the crawfish didn’t have any flavor. They make sure the people in the drive through receive their food before the people who stood outside and ordered. I know this personally because I ordered my food to go and was told it would only take 30 minutes which it didn’t it took over an hour. I seen people in the drive-through order and get their food within 20 minutes.

We were expecting the best crawfish in the city! But we kind of had our expectations high. The customer service was beyond great! The service was very excellent! We will give it another try and rewrite this review after. Will be back!

I am giving Swamp Donkey’s Seafood 3 stars only due to the very over priced snow crab legs we pitched that had no meat in them. If you are going to advertise yourself 1) as a seafood restaurant and 2) charge more than double the price you can purchase crab legs at the grocery store they need to be of good quality. As for the crawfish they are some of the best we have had out eating. Super clean which is a big plus and lately most restaurants do not clean them properly. I ordered the regular spicy which had just the right amount of heat. I picked up our and brought it home so I can’t say much about the food park but it did seem clean and a nice environment.

Came here with the family to get our yearly crawfish fix. Many people have been hyping about this place. They have a huge eating area. Tons of tables. Some under a cool hut. A bounce house for the kids. All the food had excellent flavor. The crawfish were good size. The shrimp was some of the best I have eaten. Great atmosphere too. They had live music. They are byob. Only drawbacks were they opened late. Worse, they didnt have potatoes. How you have crawfish without potatoes? The lady said they sold a lot the evening before. I didnt want to be rude but, I told them there is literally a H‑E‑B 2 minutes away that opened 6 hours before they did. She said the potato’s there are too expensive. Now, I’m no mathematician. But $2.99 for a three pound bag that has probably 30-40 potatoes. $0.10 a tater. They charges $0.75 for each potato. That’s 750% profit. All the people in line were complaining. They didn’t think running to the store and grabbing potatoes for a 750% markup was worth the time to make customers happy. Now, if they would have been opening late because the were running to H‑E‑B to get taters would have been a great excuse. Would have given five stars, but how you have crawfish without potatoes?!?

We regularly visit the Kingwood location, but decided to go to the Atascocita location this time. The food was spoiled! As I started eating the crawfish it smelled and tasted a bit off, but I thought maybe it was just me. When my partner was about to take a bite of the corn, the spoiled smell hit his nose before the corn entered his mouth. He immediately said, "this corn is bad!" I smelled it and it was most definitely spoiled! We were concerned about food poisoning, so we discarded all of the crawfish and corn. I'm pregnant so the risk was not worth it! Check/smell your food before leaving!

So, I tried the new Swamp Donkey’s takeover of Zydeclaws in Atascocita. I went drive thru due to my schedule. My experience was awful, at best. I ordered the special with corn potatoes and mushrooms. What I received was great tasting crawfish of the 3 I tried before throwing the entire order in the trash. There was literally 1/3 order of heads only, with 1/2 order of boiled water, no sides that were paid for. I tried 2 times to address the issue, no one would speak to me, phone disconnected. I understand things happen, doo doo occurs, but this was so very disappointing, considering I paid for water, heads & sides I never received.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, so this is in no way to the wonderful staff. Before we came in we called and they did let us know it’s early season so some crawdads will be small/have no butt. We understood, but still stopped by. We arrived to them letting us know there was only 1 bag left, perfect timing! We were very excited about trying this place as we have been following them via social media for awhile. We got two of the spiciest flavors (garlic spicy & hotter than your Gf sister) with corn/potato/sausage and they were tasty!… but once we started really digging in we found many MANY grey slimy craw butts. We didn’t want to eat anything at that point, with everything being prepped together. We ended up throwing away about $100 worth of food. I’m now on day three of puking and not retaining food. Great start to a new year I guess? I’ve worked crawfish festivals and have been the poor lad soaking and picking out the dead ones for this particular reason. (meaning they have started the decomposing process) Not very satisfied with this establishment as it’s a responsibility you hold when selling crawdads. I hate being the bearer of bad news but this is preventable.

I came on Sunday and it was so good and then I went back last night around 7:20 , and it wasn’t so good. Before I left the counter , the cashiers was giving me my food. Felt like they just threw it together , the flavor was off and it was warm, not hot at all. Very disappointing, drove 51 mins to eat… not consistent at all.

Crawfish may be “okay/good-at best” but the customer service is terrible. Tried placing an order over the phone. The “professional” over the phone said that they don’t do To-Go orders over the phone. Then proceeded to give the excuse that there is a 40 minute wait. This is why tipping is going down the drain. Thank you for the (great service - yes this was sarcasm)

Me , my friend &&; daughters came to try this place out .. as we came up a blonde headed lady immediately said “guys we are closed” with the ugliest look she gave us .. it’s not what she said , is HOW SHE SAID IT.. the gentleman next to her was nice &&; told us the Atoscosita location is open … while the man was talking to my friend .. the blonde lady looked all of us head to toe as if we were not welcomed ! Definitely gave off bad vibes &&; energy.

I will stick with the Facts, which is the Truth. No opinion. Truth: I drove 1 hr one way with tolls to get to the location, after stopping at a grocery store for drinks. Swamp Donkeys is BYOB. They have 4 flavors, their popular is spicy garlic. I found a table when i got there and placed my items at the table while i stood in line to order. I stood in line no less than 30 minutes, in the sun. I ordered 3 pounds of spicy garlic and was told they did not have that flavor. No signs anywhere advising they are out of spicy garlic at 5:45pm. I did not drive an hour plus tolls to not buy spicy garlic with my hard earned cash. They don't stock enough of their most popular flavor, so they don't run out. Wasted time for me. Wasted trip for me. I trusted them to be able to sell me the most popular flavor of crawfish today, since they did have crawfish. No reason for me to trust them again when I can go somewhere else who does stock their most popular flavor of crawfish. No reason for me to talk bad about a place who let me down. It's my Truth about this restaurant today. You decide for you. I won't go back.

Crawfish were very very small and way over spiced. The cook obviously doesn't know how to boil crawfish. Not at all worth the money. Zydeclaws was much better. I will give my business to another crawfish place.

Went on Memorial day cause I saw good reviews on TikTok about this place and the crawfish were by far the worst crawfish I've had in Houston. I ordered extra spicy and they had no spice or flavor. I gave them away and that person also said they had no flavor at all. Not sure what the issue was but those crawfish were not right at all. Very disappointed as I drove 40mins out. Also, the sides had no flavor either.
