It is so nice to have Rye Goods in Laguna Beach. I used to go to Newport location to pick bread. They have one of the best bread in Orange County. Their country sourdough bread is divine. They bake their bread and pastries fresh everyday using organic high quality flower. They dont have gluten free items but I can handle their rye bread without issues. Pastry items are also super tasty, baklava croissant is something to try. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about their products. There are indoor and outdoor sitting area. Parking is paid street parking and can be hard to find during busy times. I highly recommend this place for fresh bakery lovers. Price is on the higher end.

I would argue that this is one of the best coffee shops in California. I stopped in for a bite to eat and then I left with a loaf of bread. Let me tell you, this place just became my next addiction. The jam and butter biscuit was from heaven itself. They serve OLIPOP which is my FAVORITE drink to find at a coffee shop when I don’t want any more caffeine. I'm on a trip, and today was my last day in Laguna Beach. So many good reviews made me want to visit, so I did just 4 minutes before closing. I was worried they might be out of pastries, but fortunately, there were few kinds left. I tried to make a quick purchase and leave, and then they gave us the bread for free. 😲 I could definitely see what the first reviewer meant by “ultra upbeat friendly atmosphere”. 💖 (photo: From the top, clockwise, I believe they are onion brie, chocolate coffee, and almond croissant.) All three were uniquely delicious. 😀 If I get the chance, I definitely want to come back and try other ones as well!

2/2 bangers for me. $7 for likely the best and freshest bagel in town, definitely worth a little drive to get to. The chive cream cheese is nothing short of delicious, with a fresh lemon zest to have a light burst of citrus flavor. It’s something that I’ll definitely be added to my bagels at home. The Foccacia was also quite good, freshly baked and with another sprinkle of lemon zest. It’s really good, you can tell it’s quality.

They have super delicious vegetable empanadas with a fresh green sauce! The coffee and black bamboo tea are also delicious! The cafe also has a wide variety of pastries! I recommend visiting!

Delicious bakery with amazing food options! Fresh ingredients and the food can out perfect. Highly recommend!! Sitting area was also a plus with many seats available and a little courtyard to enjoy.

Had a delicious cake, lemon with poppyseed, chicken sandwich, yummy, faraoh bowl. Food was delicious but you need to bring some patience with you. We waited 45 min from arriving, order to get the food. It’s from my perspective worthwhile the wait.

Everything about this place is high-quality, including the service! Roxy helped me, and was patient with me through my pre-coffee indecision of what to order. So kind. Bustling little bakery/cafe with a large variety of creative and tasty goods. The Rye Scramble was perfect! I also enjoyed the Lemon Meringue Morning Roll I only wish they had heated up our Seasonal Savory Croissant, it would've been tastier toasted and warm.

Fancy a trip to a quaint Scandinavian bakery without leaving SoCal? Looking for a fresh loaf of bread or some of the best selections of natural wine? Want a cup of coffee with friends in a cozy setting? Rye Goods is so much more than your corner artisan bakery, the food here is incredible and so is the ambiance. The branding is a tall glass of refreshing water, and the people who work here are warm and friendly. The owner and her team have put together some highly curated retail offerings as well. I highly recommend their tarts, seasonal salads and fresh bread, but everything I've tried here has been amazing. Thanks for bringing a slice of excellence to Laguna Beach!

Great breakfast location with indoor and patio seating. Amazing espresso drinks with lots of healthy, tasty eating options. Fresh pastries baked daily. It's situated opposite of a clothing boutique called "Just looking" puruse while you wait, and find the best attire around! 😀

Delicious menu and excellent staff! I’ve visited this Rye Goods location a few times and can’t say anything negative. The coffee is fantastic—which is hard to find in this area. My favorite menu item is the “Seasonal Fruit Ricotta Toast,” always prepared to perfection. Definitely worth a visit!

Really didn’t love this spot… Iced matcha latte with a squirt of vanilla (the extra flavor was a silent $1 upcharge, no forewarning) was the color of light sage green…probably the worst (AND most expensive!) matcha drink I’ve ever had. Coffee cake was also super crumbly and not memorable. Only redeeming factors are the Rye scrambled eggs main dish (I think the eggs or bread were dipped with duck fat? So delish!) and the friendly service. I can see how the indoor space could be really warm on a hot day. Taking this off my bookmarks list. Highly unlikely to return! Thanks for reading! ^-^

Awful customer service. I was excited to try this place with my friend before work. We got there at 7 AM, their posted opening time. The door was locked, so we waited outside in 45 degree weather while we could clearly see staff inside getting ready. We were completely fine waiting. A few minutes later, a woman approached the door, unlocked the latch, and walked away without saying a single word. Inside, she was rude, dismissive, and acted inconvenienced by our presence. I have never experienced service like this. If I were the owner, I would reevaluate who is representing the business. We understand mornings can be busy, but basic hospitality goes a long way. Left genuinely shocked and won’t be returning based on this experience.
