One of the cleanest one's I have been in.
We were almost alone since we went on a slow day and period but the food was good and service was nice. Place was clean.
Came in while traveling with a horde of rowdy kiddos. Great service, order was quick and accurate. Chey and Isabelle were especially patient and helpful. Will definitely come back next time we are here!

Very fast drive-thru for the only fast food chain in town! Definitely a good place to pick up breakfast before hitting the road early in the morning. Only complaint is they close at 8pm (due to Covid).
Our food was out in 5 minutes, the tables were clean and well maintained. Less than a minute after we left, a young lady began cleaning the table we were in. The ice cream machine was being cleaned so we couldn’t get any ice cream but I didn’t remove any stars because the food was perfect!
One of the best McDs I've ever been to. They have never burned the muffin or overcooked the egg in their McMuffins. If you're an addict like me, you know what I'm talking about! Kitchen is wicked fast, too, at least inside (I never use drive through).
Order served in timely manner. We didn't dine in, but the seating area look really clean and nice.
The only reason I "short-changed" this McDonald's location's Atmosphere score by one star is because we had a drive-through visit and didn't get to experience the interior in order to give them a "legitimate" score. Generally speaking, though, I have found the McDonald's consumer experience to be just about the most fulfilling exchange between buyer and seller that exists in the world - wide retail marketplace, regardless of product category or geographic location. Say what you like (or don't like) about the company's food offerings, I think from the standpoint of promises kept vs promises made, there isn't another corporation that delivers with the level of integrity and consistency that this one does. Every retail operation, whether corporately owned, franchise-based or any other ownership model would do well to come within 90% of what I consider McDonald's to be... the "gold standard" of retailing.
I must say, my recent experience at McDonald's was quite surprising and delightful. While it's not often that I give a positive review for fast food chains, this particular McDonald's exceeded my expectations in terms of customer service. The staff members greeted me with warm smiles as they took my order, and their friendly demeanor continued throughout the entire transaction. It was such a cool and refreshing experience to encounter such exceptional customer service at McDonald's, and it left a lasting positive impression on me.
This is the best McDonald’s in New York. The manager, Steve Balboni, always cooks meat to perfection and makes sure all fries are in the bag.

It's a very nice McDonald's with a fireplace and still has its self-service soda. Order with customization was spot on, which ranks it higher than many other locations. But it's McD. You know what you're getting.

I went to the local McDonald's and had a great lunch. The employee told me that when I ask for a burger I should tell them not to add salt of seasonings. I'm a older lady who can't have extra salt. Very nice and helpful staff and management.
I just attempted to pay for my meal with gift certificates. They refused McDonald's gift certificates because they said they are not "participating". McDonalds is just about profit. They couldn't care less for customers.

Their food is always decent and fresh tasting. They are also quick there as well. Most of the staff are pleasant although there is one girl there who has given me a bit of an attitude on more than one occasion but that was a few months ago, have not seen her thankfully in a little while.
Stopped in for breakfast. Just a few Sausage McMuffins and a Diet Coke. The food was ok, one of the muffins tasted stale. The restaurant itself was very nice! Probably one of the nicest I’ve come across. The staff was friendly as well. The guy cleaning the lobby was nice as well. Just lost one star for the food quality.
Only thing I didnt like was they didnt allow me to use my McDonald's coffee card.
The unsung heroes of Lake Placid and its main street chaotic dining. We've been coming to lake placid for about 5 years and dinner is always a chaos of have you booked 2 weeks in advance and are you ready to wait 45 to 1h45 in line if you miss the 5 minute window with/without kids and have had to go there. I hate to say it but this is a better bang for your buck than smoke signals.
Service was a little slow for fast food. 20 minutes to get 2 Big Mac meals. The buns aren't what they use to be. They fall apart so easily. I thought McDonald's was trying to do better by customers.
Lady serving was frenzied by lack of help. Almost 10 minutes ( no exaggeration ) before being waited on at counter. Eh...it's McDonalds...
We were there around 6 pm. Most of the items were out of stock . They don’t even have milk …Really? .
Only order and it took over 15 mins to make simple food, more expensive than Canada and much slower geeze...
Food is average/passable if you're on the run, drive-thru male crew member rude when I took approximately 10-15 secs. longer than normal to order...
The manager Marissa is amazing, food was fresh, order wasn't messed up. I still think they should start McDelivery in our area.
I like the McDonald's establishment but it's the simple things for me that make or break a meal from their venue. For example I always get sweet and sour with my nuggets and I tell this to the attendant at speaker. It comes up on board but always get different condiments then what i ordered. My biggest pet peve is I hate pickles "I know I'm weird" its a simple request but vaguely is accomplished. McDonalds needs a refresher course on customer service or add to the existing one. Not a diss but a reminder to those who serve the public
This location made us wait for what should be a very standard order, at a not all together off time to order food. Then the food we got wasn't fresh it clearly had been sitting for quite while. Maybe an off night, but when we offered the kids a chance to go back the chose the gas station fodder over this.
Service here is timely and usually accurate. However, still just fast food. The environment is clean, workers are helpful. The food was, well, fast food. Decent temperature, and prepared correctly, but still tastes cheap and fake. Three stars overall
Fast food with a 5 star meal price. Higher prices started and I thought the quality would get better, for a short time they stood behind the price increase with quality and then low and behold right back to just barely or not at all making quality food for the higher cost. Nothing to see here.
It’s McDonald’s, so no surprises with the food. I usually wouldn’t go but I made the long, scary drive back from Montréal on these dark azz, country roads (it’s unbelievably dark out here) and I needed to eat something to ground me. This is the first McDonald’s I’ve ever been to that closed the dining room at 5pm. You had to order from the drive-thru. Some folks pulled the door then left. When I pulled up I saw the inside was empty and got in the drive-thru line. Not a dealbreaker but unusual.
Went through the drive thru, it was just me and a truck behind and what seemed to be one customer inside. Sat and waited for “fries” for a solid 10 minutes. Watch through the window chit chatting and not doing anything. After the 10 minute wait got my order that was wrong. Order two grilled chicken sandwiches, and got crispy chicken instead. I know mistakes are made so no big deal, I understand it happens. But no apology and some eye rolls. Very disappointed with how slow it was and how much work was “being done” while they waited for the fries to “cook” for ten minutes.
We left as fast as we entered the restaurant. The cashier had a hard time making change and there was some issues with people getting the correct foods. The milk shake was good but had melted by the time we got it and went back to our car. Not the best experience we have had in a McDonalds.
Music in dining area is too loud. No I'm not old! Counter service barely exists at the register or otherwise. Food doesn't look like it was put together with love. Below average McDonald's experience.
Ordered 1 Mcdouble (kid wanted it) and 1 mc chicken value meal each and ended up with 2 mc chickens. Kid ended up only eating nuggets. I guess it's healthier to not eat it? One of those things that's annoying enough to leave a review but not enough to drive 10 mins to ask for exchange....
The space is bright, sunny and clean--one of the nicest McDonald's around. Haven't stopped at a McDonald's in years and had a craving for a fish sandwich. Sandwich was hot, fresh and tasty. Fries, however, were obviously old and reheated -- limp, lukewarm, flavourless and had the texture of cardboard. Very disappointing as it negated any of the positives.
The staff was largely inattentive and focused on their friends hanging out at the counter. My quarter pounder was cool and had a crusty bun. Unfortunate. Go elsewhere in Lake Placid
One of the worst McD's I've ever visited. Iced tea tasted wierd, the fries were cold and lettuce was old and wilted. Go down the road a bit to Saranac Lake location. Much nicer.
Unfortunately, this McDonald's is lacking big time. Room temp food at best, 3/4 full French fries, and you have to pay for any extra sauce. I really wish this McDonald's could step it up! And what McDonald's closes at 11?
Missing part of our order after we drove away and had to come back to request. Also was super unfriendly service with no welcome when we pulled up, no thank you. I don’t expect much from McDonald’s but this was one of the more negative experiences unfortunately.
Restaurant was not open, drive thru only. Ordered 3 breakfasts, eggs weren't cooked enough and coffee wasn't very good. I'd recommend going somewhere else. Staff seem pleasant.
Took me about 15 minutes to get ice cream at the drive-thru. There wasn't a long line of cars they were just super slow.
Ordered 2 coffee and 2 McDonald's sausage McMuffin. Service window said only one coffee and could not requisite the other, Get Back in Line!!! Not too put off so I spun around to get the second coffee, except the line went all the way back to highway. What the heaven
There was a large piece of plastic cooked into the fries. Someone could have easily choked on. I brought it back to show the manager. They weren't very concerned. We haven't been back since and don't plan to.

Always check your order before you pull away from the widow and get a receipt. Bought 2 happy meals- nuggets and cheeseburger. No BBQ sauce for nuggets although I asked and NO CHEESEBURGER ,just fries and the 'toy' in the other. Like the only time I didn't get the receipt, so I couldn't even go back. Tried to call but it's always busy. Hope they don't disappoint the tourist like they did this local.
Employees were unprofessional with the way they were talking to one another in front of us, as paying customers (i.e., seemed a bit snippy with one another while trying to determine what we were waiting for vs. just asking us - we were the only customers inside). Received my order and it was incorrect, was sent back to line to be corrected, and the person working the line seemed to have a poor attitude as well (seemed upset she had to correct the order). Overall service was not good, I would expect to at least be greeted with a smile and, "How can I help you?" vs. a frown and, "What do you want?" Date 05/07/17, approximately 11:00 AM.
This place is an absolute joke. The first time I got there, I made an order on the kiosk, and waited with the table marker. I went back to the counter 15 minutes after, to be handed a bag of 15 minutes stale food and be told they don't do the table service there. Another time. I went at around 9PM, to find the dining room closed because of "computer problems". I was at a nearby hotel and had left the car over there. I was denied service at the drive through for "security reasons" despite thr lane being entirely empty. I asked the clerk where I could get food instead and got pointed to a Stewart's location over 2 miles away.
This was the filthiest McDonalds I have ever been in. Tables had food on them. They ran out of certain items. Had to stand and wait for them to be replaced. Ketchup was overflowing out of the dispenser just sitting there. The restroom was vile. I refused to use it.

In my home state of Tennessee you don't have to wear a mask in a drive thru line. When I went to pay for my order the person looked very stern and it took some time for them to fill my order. The next person that handed me the bag was mumbling under her breath, she never talked directly to me. Later while eating my meal, I found myself chewing on a very long hair that had been obviously curled purposely onto my sandwich.
Very disappointed after the last 3 visits. Each time our orders were incorrect even though the receipts state the right thing. I’m done coming here and tired of seeing the food come out wrong and not even edible. Also the customer service lacks kindness and it looks like the employees that have served me absolutely hate life and can’t even say anything back to a thank you...what a shame people can’t even be happy to have a job
My fries were cold, there was hair on my tray, they messed up all of our sandwiches including mold on one of the buns. All the employees had a terrible attitude to all customers. At least the bathroom was clean :)

Tables were dirty, staff yelling, the ladies bathroom was absolutely GROSS ,when staff were alerted no one bothered to go clean it. There were no apple pies shame on you for not making anymore! The mcflurry my grandson got was melted.
Wow. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time, neither the walkway or drive way were kept up at all. Ordered two separate meals taken by the rudest manger I've ever had to encounter. The first order i was asked what kind of drink did i want second order I wasn't asked. Wait 8 mins to ask for unsweetened tea. Was treated so rudely stated I was trying to get a free upcharge (for tea instead of a soda). Paid two more dollars for the tea (meal came with a drink). Waited 3 more mins for them to actually give me the team bc the girl just walked away after I paid. Manger then never asked why I was still standing there waiting when they already gave me my food. I told him I wanted my unsweetened tea I paid for. He then gives me sweet tea, because asking takes to much time I guess. Then I have to wait 3 more mins to get the right drink.
Fast food is supposed to be fast food. I know it can get busy like any other fast food place. When you don't like your job and don't wait on people that have been waiting in line for 15 minutes. And the kicker is, the employee that is taking orders is looking at you from across the floor and not helping you

Food was cold and bread was hard after I asked for FRESH FOOD. Talked to mike and he was rude and didn’t care what I had to say. Kept insisting my food was fresh when it definitely wasn’t! Place is a joke along with the staff that’s in there. WOULD NOT EAT HERE! The one in saranac lake is 10x better and don’t screw everything they put there hands on up
Update September 2022- rating went from 2 stars to 1. This has to be the worst McDonalds there is. You would think they would learn from their bad reviews. Not even open during posted hours and they close at 7. Avoid this place at all cost! Poor management. Mcdonalds should never run out of sweet and sour sauce.
The place was dirty with fries scattered on the floor. The floor was greasy and wet - so slippery that I actually fell. A customer asked if I was ok but no employee.
The manager was rude.. I never complain or care to make a person's life at a McDonald's complicated. HOWEVER, I got a fish filet with the smallest insignificant slice of cheese. I went in to ask for a whole slice of cheese on my fish filet? I was going to pay for it If I had to? There was about 1/3rd of cheese. The gentleman who I asked first said "let me get my manager". The manager said "how can I help you? " I asked "can I have a slice of cheese, for my fish filet" So he says "they're made with half slices, an they've been doing it for the past 30 years like that" I could have sworn I actually had one about a month ago with a whole slice... Then to be forcibly pushed out by the manager MICHAEL DURHAM at Lake Placid McDonald's. I refused to leave after he said he was going to call the cops. After going back and FORTH WITH ME ABOUT EITHER A REFUND OR A SLICE OF CHEESE...BI SAID OKAY ILL TAKE THE REFUND OR A NEW FISH FILET WITH A SLICE OF CHEESE...I wasn't belligerent or speaking to threaten anyone's Body or the restaurant. I said "Okay, I'll wait for the police" Anyway, I spent 3 hours writing a deposition @ LPPD & Emailing the Corporation I WAS HARRASED MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY AFTER trying to get $6.00 back or a slice of cheese. That was a waste of my time after I came back from a funeral service.
Rancid fryer oil! I pulled up no time on the clock. I needed food for lunch nothing fancy. Just something to fill the void. I knew when I saw the menu I shouldn't. But time was short and hangrey was on its way. Spicy chicken meal sounded safe chicken bread and fries 13 bucks. Whatever. First window nice lady greats me (Sarcasm, she hated life itself I think) I say hello, how are you? The smell hits me. Rancid oil. Maybe just an old bucket they haven't gotten rid of. Next window...hits even harder. I think to myself. Is this worth it? I pull away and start eating. Fries ok chicken was not the spicy version. Two days later I'm still feeling the affect of there rancid fryer oil. Not worth it at all! Stay away. The few minutes I saved Tha day have cost me hours in the bathroom....and what's up with Lake placids health inspector? DO NOT EAT AT THOS MCDONALD'S!

Employees were rude and confrontational . We ordered 2 iced coffees that they made wrong twice, the third time they had to make them they wanted us to pay for 2 more. Fortunately for us we were in the drive through and refused to pay or move until they got it right. Worst McDonald's experience ever.
Just went here on Saturday 11/2. Ordered a 2 cheeseburger meal and both burger buns were filled with mold. We had to throw them out and were out $10.00
Customer service is clearly not required here with the lady taking my order extremely rude. On top of that when I go to pick up my food it seems the people are just mutes and stare at you till you figure out what they want.
I had the most rude manager, his name was Mike at the pick up window. I didn't think the girl got the second large diet coke with our meal, the last item we ordered. After ordering the meal she went on telling us the price. I told her the last item was a meal. Not just the sandwich did you get the drink, she said yes, I said that was a large diet coke, she said yes. Large diet coke. I paid for the meal, moved to pick up window. The manager shoves the food out the window and then shoves the one diet coke out. I said we got 2 large diets. No you didn't you got one with a huge attitude. I said we ordered 2 large diet cokes. He got very arrogant and said, you have to go back around and get in line to order another. He said she repeated your order to you and that's what you got. The girl that took the order, never repeated the order. I even told her there was a second diet coke with the meal. The manager Mike, said I don't have a cash drawer so you have to go back in line. Then yelled pull up, well take care of you. He comes out and says do you have $1.08. Not holding a diet coke. I have no problem paying for a diet coke, but being told to go back in line was ridiculous. Then come out and say do you have $1.08? So he could all of a sudden take money that way. But not at the window??
Always bad experience with this place. They hire idiots who forget things in my order all the time, it just happened again this morning, I didn’t get a single condiment that I asked for with my meal so I starved on my road trip rather than eating dry nuggets because.. well plain nuggets are gross 🙄
Food was trash. Service matched the food. I mean it’s McDonalds but this was by far the worst. Dried old fries, soggy mccrispy, iced coffee served with a bottom layer of coffee grinds. Doors were locked and it was 5:30pm even though the sign says they are open until 7:30pm.
Consistently making mistakes with orders and wasting customers time having to drive back to the store to pick up the right items only to be told they weren't going to comp for the right items wasting even more time. Overall a poorly run location with often exceptionally bad customer service.
The male manager who is always at the pick up window is awfully rude and it has trickled down to their employees, virtually every single one of them. There is an older female (I believe manager as well) that is there usually in the mornings, will get your food and drink order wrong and when you try to mention it will slam the drive thru window in your face and when you try to walk it back in, the dine in area is closed. I always treat everyone with respect especially in the food industry these days, but it doesn't matter how respectful or nice you are you always get the same rude treatment.. Food is mediocre, always cold and don't even bother trying to order a frappe or smoothie or anything from their "mccafe " They charge you almost $5 for a large frappe and it's so full of ice chunks you can't drink it, and they refuse to blend it to a consistency that is drinkable. Don't waste your time.
They got my order completely wrong....again...I ordered 2, number 2's which I paid nearly $20 for. And i recieved 2 orders of chicken nuggets and the wrong drinks. I opened the bag to see if my order was correct to find the fries spilled all over. Before I could point out the mistake to the brat at the window she turned away from her conversation with her co workers to bark at me "you're all set" and then closed the drive through window and went back to her conversation. $13.75 per hour seems a bit high....the gentleman who took my order was great.
Horrible horrible service. No communication we had to yell into the speaker to get someone to answer us. Like dummies we waited 20 minutes to get food. We should have pulled away like the others.
Got home and half my order was missing and the food I did get was disgusting and dry.
Worst McDonald's I have ever been to. Had to say my order 3 times and they still messed it up. At the window I didn't get one of my drinks. The person taking the order missed adding it in. The manager who was at the window handing out the food told me I would have to go back through the drive thru a second time to reorder the missed drink. Good management would have apologized and given us the drink. It wasn't like I wasn't willing to pay for it.
I have visited this McDonalds a half dozen times. Almost every time I notice the manager’s negative attitude. It creates an uncomfortable experience for the customers and employees. Today I visited drive-through, asked for a number 2 with milkshake. At the second window I received milk instead of milkshake. I returned the milk and explained this to the employee at window, she was extremely helpful and said she would take care of it. Then the manager arrived and demanded my card saying she needs to charge for the milkshake. She brings back card and receipt, doesn’t return it herself instead makes the employee return it, and I notice she charged full price for milkshake. I explain to the employee that I ordered the shake with a meal, so have been overcharged. She says, with the look of terror in her eyes, that she will find manager so I can talk to her about it. She comes back and says that the manager cannot be found. I did not have time to wait so I left. I emailed the Micar Group, who owns this McDonalds, of my complaint. I have yet to receive a reply. Next time I will eat elsewhere. The employees deserve better than that manager, the customer deserves better, and Lake Placid deserves better!
One of worst managers I have seen at the McDonald’s. He was rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. When we asked if their lobby was open he said no but then they had their door by the pickup window open and saw others walk-in. When I went inside and again asked the manager if they were open, he rudely and very disrespectfully said that the door was mistakenly open. Well you were allowing other people and did not say them that they cannot order inside, but for us you refused to let us inside and asked us to order it through the window. I felt that he was racially discriminating us.I will be taking this matter with McDonald’s corporate and file a complaint against the manager
Currently sitting in the drive-through at 9:28, website says they’re open until 1030 or after 10 minutes at the window. I believe they shut down early. Would be nice to keep it updated hours of operation and/or have a consistent closing time.

Order a #2. Picture show orange juice. The cashier charged for orange juice. I spoke with manager. Cause we received the order he wouldn't make it right. Manager stood there and argued with us. He was rude, unfriendly along with rest of staff. Serive is slowwwww, so make sure you allow enough time. I don't recommend anything. As I would not go here.
I wish I would have seen what this place actually looked like before we ordered our food. We walked in and went right to the kiosk thing, order and paid for food. I turned around to find a place to sit and every spot that wasn’t taken was absolutely disgusting. There was food and wrappers and just plain garbage all over the floor, every table had stuff all over them. The person who brought out our drinks yelled if our number was “23”, so I answered. Her shirt was half unbuttoned and untucked and as she’s walking away I see her phone tucked into her back of her pants and not her pocket. We finally got our food and my husbands sandwich was made upside down and then my quarter pounder was made with the middle Big Mac bun as the bottom and it was cold, cheese wasn’t even melted. I would not recommend coming here at all. Horrible horrible place. They should be ashamed!
I respect that place is not pet friendly but my dog is a service dog. We used to come here few times a month and we showed before my dogs ID to the manager. But today, my dog obviously was "not dressed properly" so we were asked to leave by an employee-even after offering to show again his ID?! I won't mention serving old food, I understand it's slow season. Not coming back.
Went to this restaurant twice while up in NY for a tournament. First time they were extremely slow due to low staffing, no worries we get that. The nuggets were old, but we were already gone. Went again and gave them a second shot. Ordered our food on the mobile app. We waited for 20 minutes, seeing other people get their food that ordered after us (some of them also using the mobile app). We asked the manager, she said “they had to make it fresh, it will be right out.” It was right out, but it wasn’t fresh. All of the food was old. They forgot about us and just didn’t want to admit it. Again, not a big deal, but when I said something about my “fresh” fries being cold, what I got was “well, the sandwiches are new”. Nope, it wasn’t. Avoid and find other food.
Absolutely horrible. I wish I could give zero stars! I ordered two items via the McDonald’s app 30 minutes before the dining room closed. I arrived 5 minutes later once my order was “ready” and found the door was locked. There were employees inside. I went around in the drive thru. The manger I “spoke” with was highly incompetent and only said, “I’ll refund you.” Not a word more and the window was slammed in my face. How rude! Needless to say, I have not recieved my refund nor the food I had ordered. No explanation was made only garbage attitude.
The drive thru worker was Very in competent and rude when we were trying to order and the customer service was extremely poor. On our way out of the drive thru we saw they had the doors locked and wouldn’t let people In with no notice identifying why.
Walked in Saturday at 7pm. Doors were locked with a sign saying they're closing at 8pm due to staffing shortages. staff at the drive thru window refused to take my order because I didn't drive. My wife and I left frustrated. Why post an incorrect sign?
Went through this morning the woman at the first window couldn't even look at us. Didn't say hello just stuck her hand out. Gave the change back the same way. Customer service goes a long way.
I bet McDonald's would be able to staff their restaurant enough to function if they paid employees more. This one doesn't do that and therefore it takes about 10 minutes for someone to take your order at the counter.
