Rosniyom (Gus's) is known for its crispy, juicy, and flavorful fried chicken that's not greasy. The Mac & Cheese and greens are popular sides. Some find the location unassuming from the outside, but the interior is clean and welcoming. Limited parking is a potential issue.

I visited here like 12pm Feb 13. ofc I loved a meal, the thing what's more important to me is a guy who served me was really good guy. I was kinda nervous to have lunch in America but, he was so nice and icebreaker to me. i don't remember his name but thank you so much I really appreciate it
I've been on a vision quest lately to find the best fried chicken this country has to offer, and I'm tired. Bad fried chicken will completely ruin your day, and even good fried chicken doesn't sit well. My stomach has been begging for a break. I dragged myself to Gus's per countless recommendations, just going through the motions a bit. However, when I opened the togo box, my zest for life came back. It felt like opening one of those chests in the Legend of Zelda. I couldn't even believe my eyes that fried chicken could be this beautiful. A tight, crunchy reddish-brown skin that looked like an asteroid. To the touch, you could hear a snap crackle pop. Upon first bite of the breast, a blast of juice exploded and revealed a perfectly cooked, tender breast. Euphoria. Gus's made me realize I have never had GREAT fried chicken. I was legitimately floating after this meal. As of penning this, there is Gus's Fried Chicken, and then everyone else. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo
Wonderful hidden gem in Los Angeles Don't let the outside fool you. Very clean nice restaurant inside. Plenty of room to Dine in. Real Delicious Fried Chicken, wonderful deserts. Chicken is flavored to the Bone. It's hard to find real, well seasoned fried chicken. Some restaurants are selling fake cloned chicken. Gus's is worth the trip.
I first discovered Gus’s in Memphis and couldn’t wait to try the LA location after moving here — and I’m happy to say it’s just as incredible. The chicken is fried to perfection: crispy, not greasy, and seasoned beautifully. It’s somehow rich yet feels light, which is rare for fried food. The staff are friendly, laid-back, and quick with service. This has quickly become one of my top 10 go-to spots in LA for comfort food that’s consistently excellent. The only thing I hope they improve is better management of the dine-in space. On my last two visits, a few non-dining individuals were allowed to sit inside for extended periods, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable for guests. A little more attentiveness in maintaining the dining environment would make a big difference. That said, I still love this place and will absolutely keep coming back — it’s fried chicken done right.
Some of the best fried chicken I ever had. I ordered the three piece white meat combo meal with a double side of coleslaw. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I accompanied the meal with a sweet tea of course. Why not the full experience. The restaurant is fairly big with plenty of seating. Great customer service and very friendly staff. The only tricky part is the parking. There is parking in the back alley, but it’s compact and small. If one car parks wrong, it creates a chain effect since the parking spaces are small. I ended up parking on the street to avoid the mess. This place is definitely a must try if you are in the area and you can definitely share the portions, they are big.
Really simple, very good! This was a very homestyle, simple fried chicken. I appreciated Gus’ concise menu and great service. It was a refreshing change from the super seasoned, Nashville hot chicken that’s become so popular here in California. The breading is thin, crispy, and not heavy or greasy. You almost can’t tell it’s fried. The price was great too! we got a platter of 10 tenders for about 30 bucks and we couldn’t finish it all, we tried though hehe! I liked that, despite being a casual restaurant, the employees took our order at the table, and came back frequently with refills and extra sauce. Note: parking is tight here! They have a small backlot (almost always full), and street parking is a little challenging too, so beware and bring coins for the parking meters! If you’re looking for an old fashioned, easy chicken, at a clean and cozy place, check them out 😼
This has been my favorite spot and fried chicken ever since living in LA for about 5 years now. The food is always excellent, top service and ambience. You may think this place is ugly when seeing the location from outside as it is in a old kind of legendary building, but it is actually a wonderful place inside. You have 4 TV screens ready to watch some good sports games. This place is a good one for family parties, friend parties, sports game time, casual lunch or diner, business. Everything fits! My fav dish is 3 Piece tender with cole slaw and fries + Lemonade. When space for a dessert Pecan pie is the best! but the other one is great as well.
Some of the best fried chicken in Los Angeles, hands-down. Also, some of the best mac & cheese that I’ve ever had! They have two locations, this one and another up in Burbank. As you might guess they are famous for their chicken both fried and tenders. They have a ton of great side options to choose from, as well as, delicious sweet tea and desserts. Inside was a lot larger than I was expecting, they have many different sized tables that can host many differentsized groups. Our server was extremely polite and super fast with the drink refills and checking in on us. They have a small free parking lot behind the restaurant, but it was filled with some bad parkers, so I had to find a space on the street, which I was able to do for 6PM Sunday dinner. The chicken is very crispy, but seasoned perfectly and was juicy as it could be. I chose the 3 Piece White Meal which is 2 breasts and 1 wing with baked beans and cole slaw on the side. I also added a side of the Mac N Cheese which was amazing, some of the best I have had in a long time. We also started the meal with Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Pickles and both were addictingly good. An all-around great spot to have a comfort food meal. The chicken is better than I expected and honestly, I wish I could eat this place all the time. I will definitely be back in the near future because a delicious chicken spot is hard to find.
Hey everyone, so the parking is extremely limited. The restaurant is cozy and gives you like an old diner vibe. I did not use the restroom, I did pick up. I ordered the 8 piece special, with greens and Mac and cheese and fries , and it was very delicious. It was seasoned very well and still hot when I brought it home. I will definitely order again.
Yeah. This restaurant deserves to be the world famous. Fried chicken was very crispy and its taste was also good because they served it right after frying. Service was also good so I have willing to visit here again if I go to LA again. Price is also reasonable, and parking lot is also in here. These are also good point for this restaurant.
My sister's friend recommended this place. Their chicken is great. Not only was it crispy, it was very moist and had a spicy kick to it. Unlike like other fried chicken this chicken was NOT greasy at all. The Mac and cheese was also great too. The young lady who helped us at the register was so welcoming. Being that we mentioned it was our first time there, she gave us great tips on what to do order. Oh ! There's also parking in the back. Don't get discouraged to stop by because it does seem like there's no parking but i can assure you that there is. You'll enter off of Crenshaw on the right hand side. I'll be back for more when craving fried chicken 🍗
I’m a believer, Gus’ fried chicken is crispy & juicy. The Mac & cheese is good not the greatest. I would definitely get fried okras over the fried tomatoes any day. You get more bang for your buck if you go that route. If you’re like me, I would suggest getting another slice of bread for $0.15 cents more.
The only answer I couldn't find prior to my first visit was "Do y'all serve beer?" Because a cold beer goes very well with some fried chicken. Well, the answer Im happy to report, is YES. The 40oz Budweiser is a bit pricey at $12, but damn sure hits the spot. Fried chicken is battered nicely. It has a spicy kick. Fried okra was great! Baked beans tasted like they came from a can. Slaw was a bit sweet but complimented the spicy chicken nicely. Service was good. Attentive and friendly.
First off the place smells like cat pee, which is strange. The bathroom was kinda a mess. The servers and staff were friendly and attentive, by far the best part. The chicken sandwich I got was the worst cut of chicken lol. It was dry, stringy, tough, had both dark and white meat in it, I didn't even finish it. I did also get a leg alacart and it was solid. Mac and cheese and beans were good. Pretty pricey at over $40 for 2 sandwiches and 2 small sides with no drinks. I don't know where to park here either I just parked probably illegally in a neighboring strip mall.
This review is coming from an avid home cooker. The experience and taste may differ from those who dine out more often. I started with the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were good for what they were. Then for my entree, I had a 3 piece wing with beans, greens, and the Mac & cheese. My guy had the same but had fries instead. It was a slow business day, so I am assuming that's why we could smell that the grease wasn't fresh while waiting for our food and when our food arrived, the chicken reflected just that. I think on a good day, the fry and taste of the chicken would be decent. The beans were too sweet to stomach; the greens were literally boiled greens in ham hock water, no seasoning at all. The macaroni and cheese was just that, macaroni noodles and cheese. I think there was paprika sprinkled on top but provided no additional taste to the macaroni. The fries were super salty. For dessert, we finished with the chocolate chess pie, and in both of our opinions, was the best part. The waiters and the staff were nice. The establishment was clean.
Im only here to give advice. Change your grease and use less salt. Our chicken was cooked in old grease and over cooked so it made it extra salty. And nobody needs that much lawrys on the fries. However the greens could use some salt and pepper. The chocolate cake is pretty good tho
The food was served on paper plates and we were given plastic utensils. This would be fine if the food was actually good. The mac n cheese was clearly kraft, the collard greens were extremely bland, and the chicken was nothing special. The prices were also ridiculous, KFC and Popeyes have MUCH better chicken at much lower prices. On the other hand, their ranch was excellent. I will say the service was very good, I felt very welcomed.
