Good beer, great people, awesome vibe being there.

Great fun and brews for all the different tastes.
Great place and vibe. Love coming here with the whole family!
Live Music 🎶 Good Beer 🍺 and 🥘 Good Food
Great Lomita local location with lovely liberating libations!
Good times, great service, good music, great people!
Best beer and music in town!
Good selection of hand crafted beers.
Great music from Pat Morvan Band
Amazing beer and great service
Great beer and music!
One of the best breweries in so cal. Beer is top notch. Bartenders are awesome! Would highly recommend to anyone
Good Beer, good pizza, good music - overall a great time! First time and we will be coming back many more times!
Found this place next to a crossfit gym. Perfect for a quick beer or a long drinking section with love music. Really rare from a brewery in the south bay A++
Super fun, chill atmosphere especially when they have a great band! Tonight was Bite The Bullet who are bomb!
Family and pet friendly. Great beer! Great pizza! Great live entertainment! Support local business.
Great local brewery with some awesome pizza next door! I must to go and have drink or two or three!
Still can't figure out which beer is my favorite. Well, of the current brews anyways. Can't wait for a new batch of my fav Dead Head Red!
Fantastic beer. Really cool people work here. Good pizza. Cool events
Outstanding beers and wonderfull atmosphere. If you like breweries you will love this place
The beer is CHOICE! I love the set up and the music is awesome. I highly recommend checking it out.
Dude...they have a pizza place on their property...Pizza and beer!! Is there a better combo? Plus their beers and pizzas are amazing!
Great beer with great live music, cannot beat that. IPAs are great!
Not only was the bartender amazing we also got to sample beers and talk to to one of the brewers without even asking.
Excellent beers! Space looks really inviting as well. Dig the windows and bar facing pch
Love this place. Mostly I love the beer - but the tables are amazing as well.
If you love good music and good beer you definitely need to check this place out!
Excellent beer, live music, fantastic staff, great vibe; what’s not to love???
Always great time. Trivia Night was lots of fun. Staff is A+
Zha was the best bartender always on top of it with your order….
Nice place. Wednesday night is trivia night. Well run game! Pizza is good and there are tons of beer options. The chicken wings, both with and without bones, are really good, too!
Such an awesome little brewery! They're dog and family friendly, which is a big reason we come here. They have great bands on the weekends and an amazing and ever changing selection of Belgian Ales, Stouts, IPAs and more. I always reccomend them to friends 😊
Absolutely love this place. The beers are awesome they change every so often to keep the ideas fresh. Love the logos on their merchandise too. The Vibe is totally laid-back. They got something for the light beer drinkers and you beer snobs!
This place is awesome!! After waiting for what feels like forever, I'm so glad it was well worth it!! I love the layout of the place with the open windows, plenty of tvs with all the sports games on, and even live music most of the time. It might be a dollar more per beer than I would expect to pay, but come on it's only a dollar and the beer is fantastic. I'd suggest getting the full glass because you get more for what you pay for. The beertender and owner of the place are especially inviting and easy to talk to. I'm going to keep coming back here 100%!
Project Barley Downtown Torrance is a great place to meet up with friends and have some great locally brewed beers. This place can't be beat. Put Project Barley on your list of places to visit. You will not be disappointed!
Came here on Friday to check it out for the first time because the reviews looked good and it exceeded all expectations - excellent beer and amazing atmosphere, one of the coolest breweries I have been to. Plenty of parking and the staff were friendly and delightful. (7.2% belgian and their Neverland IPA was great too)
Great place to explore! Good Beers!! I wish they had more selections on their light beers. But they do bring a couple of beers from other nearby breweries too, which is amazing having those beers in addition to their own beers.
My regular stop for beer. They make my favorite IPA called Thorpe's Hammer. Trivia on Wednesdays l, teacher discount on Thursdays. Love it. Oh yea, pizza is great too.
They have a creative selection of crafty libations. The place has a chill vibe and a friendly clientele. The music was a bonus. My most recent visit was to see the bluegrass jam. Nice!
5/7/22 I was at a brewery in San Pedro which I have been to once before for some live music. In comparing the beer between Brouw***j W*st and Project Barley is like comparing Taco Bell to a top notch Mexican Restaurant. I can honestly say to the brew masters at Project Barley you need not worry about any competition from Taco Bell. In my opinion they a have a very very long way to go to match your quality if ever.
Just came here tonight for the first time with a friend and we had a great time. Great beers and a lively atmosphere with karaoke when we went. Will be back!
I was thirsty and having just come from seeing another band and watching my environment the Mexican logger was a Shore thirst-quencher. Great atmosphere super cool excited to have this around and barley is a great band as well happy to support friends and happy that this is now available for us all definitely a winner
Was greeted warmly by one of the owners Joe. Enjoyed their flagship Neverland IPA and the Thorpes Hammer DIPA. Definitely check them out if you're down on the pier. Cheers.
Wow! I went to the open Blue Grass jam night and was blown away by the talent! The beer was amazing and the staff rocks! Definitely a great home town place to check out!
I have been a huge fan of the band and now im a fan of the Brewery! Love the Blonde Kettle Sour!!!! Great vibe (beachy crowd as of 3pm) and local musicians!
Great beer list & fantastic pizza. Very clean place. You can tell they care a lot about what they do. Cant wait to visit again.
My husband and I went for the first time . Bartender was very welcoming and helped us. We got some pizza nd wings and we had a really good time .
Very delicious pizza. Fresh toppings, fresh salad, great crust and made very fast. The best pizza we have had in a long long time.
Great draft options, and the $10 flight is hard to beat! Ample seating, good ambiance and nice to have the pizzeria connected in the back
Great pizza, great beer (try the Amber) and great live music!
Can’t believe it was our first time at this gem!!! Amazing bluegrass!!! Great food and staff!! Chicken wings were epic!! Homemade Cheesecake literally to die for!!!! We will be back! Perfect mood lighting!!!
Project Barley is one of my favorite hangs. My partner and I started going there for the open mics. They have great shows, trivia night, phenomenal beer and good vibes. We really enjoy the Hazy, lagers, abc stouts! We’ve only scratched the surface with the beer selection. Even if you are riding solo, you can belly up at the bar and meet some great people! Awesome bartenders. The food is so tasty too! Truffle fries, shrimp tacos, and plantain veggie burger are our faves!
What a great place, they have some amazing beers and a beautiful place to drink them.. Stop in when they have a musician and it's even better.. Now there is a pizza place next door so woot! Went again last night and saw some live music they now offer 2 kinds of Non Alcoholic beer one of which is an IPA.. Something for everyone! So, a new team is making food and it is better than ever..
Great vibes! Delish specialty pizzas. The one in old town torrance has awesome smash burgers and I'm not a fan of sours but I love the key lime! And the neverland will keep me coming back.
This was such a great experience with great beer and food. The staff was very knowledgeable about their beer, the cask was something I haven't had a lot of but enjoyed it so much. I was only sad they didn't have my size shirt(so I got a different style). We look forward to our next visit!
There are quite a few beers to choose from. They don't have flight racks, but you can get 4 Oz pours. I got the Marine layer ipa, key lime pie sour, and stout. They were all good, I probably liked the sour best but, I do like sours. The food options were a bit limited, but that's fine cause I love pizza. I built my own pizza, bacon, jalapeno, and pineapple. The pizza was really good. It was a bit heavy, but it was because there was a good amount of sauce and cheese. I would totally come back again, especially with the live music!
Came for happy hour Tuesday through Friday 4-6pm. Bartenders know the beer explain what you like, and they will give recommendations since the names are craft and unfamiliar. They are partner with a pizzeria in the same building. 2 slices and a pint for $12 was a good deal 👌
This place is truly a gem in our little town! There is always a new craft beer to try (my current fav is Southside Red. Although the Beach Trip triple IPA is stellar). The live music never disappoints; from bluegrass to the piano man to bands. Staff is super helpful when you have questions about the beer. And the pizza! Give the pastrami pizza a try!
Great little brewery with easy access to food. The pizza smelled amazing as we came in from the back parking lot. Will have to try it next visit. Beers were all good; I tried flight of 4. Good enough variety to please everyone. Thorpe's Hanger DIPA and the Penrod's Imperial Stout were fantastic. Tasting room is more finished than most basic breweries, and they've got a great live music rotation.
Incredible spot for live music and great beers. LA needs more spots like this. We need live music!I had the best time and the pizza was FANTASTIC. Love the 86 pizza. Red amber ale was my favorite. Can't remember the exact name but it was smooth!
This brewery has amazing craft beer. Every single time we've (my better half)ever stopped in we have never been disappointed. Staff is friendly and cool, live music is an awesome touch at night. And they have a craft pizza shop now too!!! Walk/bike down the street or take a drive over....worth it!!!!😎🍻
amazing beers amazing Acoustics wonderful community. so glad these guys are back in action. really a wonderful wonderful add to our community so sorry for that crazy Year please let support them and bring them back to life with a big kick
(Note: This review is during the 2020 pandemic.) I had the pleasure of stopping by Project Barley after hearing a recommendation that I should try their Oktoberfest beer. I ordered it easily online and got a text message when it was ready. Coming into the parking lot, there is a lot of space (at least on a Saturday) to park easily. The brewery itself is pretty big. Coming in from the parking lot side, you pass by a nice outdoor area that is covered with a tarp with some tables and chairs. Coming in, you're greeted with gloves if you want them and hand sanitizer. Walking through, you come to the big bar area that is gorgeously set-up. The cashier area has plexiglass which is where I went to pick up my order. While waiting for the beer, I took a gander and saw a large chalkboard with all the beers to try for the day. The area inside was fairly large - would love to come back when indoor seating is open again. I finally got to try the Marzen Oktoberfest at home, and it was a delight. I'm a big amber ale fan as well as Oktoberfest fan and this hit the notes for both for me quite well. The can is fairly large and filled up two pints at home. The process was super easy - hope to be back again soon!
Good beer selection. Live music. Good food selection. Pet friendly. Kid friendly. Parking in the back of brewery. Great servers. All around a great local bar that is definitely supported and a hidden gem I'd say. Would definitely come back with friends. Have nothing but good things to say!
Great beer, live music, and the pizza joint in back is awesome. Definitely a cool spot!
The band Joker’s Hand performed original songs and cover songs during its gig on March 5, 2023. Matt and Kevin are talented musicians. They will be back on 4/7/23. Apparently also Matt’s birthday ;) Thursday is karaoke night with Mitch. Come prepared to sing. Lots of talent here; including Angie the Bar’s boss. Modern Times beer was fruity and not to sour. 7 dollars The Rose house wine is decent too. Water is free. Self serve. You have to pull the can. See photo. Cheese garlic bread is just under $7. Including marinara
Project Barley offers a wide variety of delicious beer in a relaxed environment. You can order food here, and there's a band now and then. You can't go wrong.

I came for the line dancing. It was so fun. The instructor was great. I think i learned. Lol
Loved our first visit to Project Barley! The atmosphere was laid-back, friendly, and full of good vibes—the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Huge shoutout to Zha for making us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It was our first time, but it’s definitely not our last. The beer selection? Top notch. Whether you’re into hoppy IPAs, smooth lagers, or something a little more adventurous, they’ve got something for every palate. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Great place, friendly staff and decent brews!
Great place. Outside seating available. Good beer and a pizza restaurant onsite for when you get hungry.
The pizza was pretty great! Beer was alright but the pizza surprised me.
Great local brewery with a broad selection of beers. Support your local brewery!
Great beer and great service. The atmosphere was nice.
I tried 5 of the seven craft beers offered and they were all good. Beers included Wittier, Mex Lager, Pacific Cream Hey, Parker's Milk Stout, Neverland IPA, marine Layer Hazy IPA, and Blonde Kettle Sour. My favourites were the Pacific Cream and the Marine Layer. The Cream is a very smooth beer that I could drink all day. The Sour is very clean brew that cut thru your thirst. This is a brewery and doesn't have a kitchen for food. They sell snacks and plan to have food trucks and catering services to provide food. You really do need some food to go along with the stout. As a bonus they do have live music playing on the weekends and some weeknights.
ame here with another couple to listen to a Bluegrass Jam. Really enjoyed the music and beer was good. We tried a sampler which is a great way to taste a wide range of their offerings. We really enjoyed the Pernod Percolator. They allow dogs and there's a pizza place right next door if you want something to eat. We didn't try the pizza but it seems a lot ordered one.
It is nice brewery but unfortunately with less variety of my favorite 🍺 IPA ( just 2)

Music was great, beer diverse and interesting as always at a project barley (THANK you for having dark beer) We came to this location for the pizza though, which underwhelmed (the veg). Took 45 minutes on a quiet Friday night to arrive Luke warm, with the answer 'sorry I got distracted'. And the pizza itself... $44 after tip (pizza only) and Underwhelming. I'll come here for the beer, music, coolness. But not food.
The bartender was very helpful. Tried several beers, there were several that were not to our taste. We decided on the Cerveza Noche and Thorpes Hammer. They were good. You have to go into the pizzeria to order and pick up.food. we had the cauliflower bites and zucchini sticks from the pizzeria.

I went for a event starting at 7pm which was advertised as having pizza and gluten free options, arrived at 7:30pm after 50min drive and I found no pizza and the bartender mocked us when we asked if they had any gluten free options for my husband who is celiac. I will not return
I came on Saturday night and the service at the bar was great. I ordered some fries at the pizzeria and they gave me a buzzer. Once it lit up, I went to pick it up at the counter but no one came to help me and I was in a rush since the game was on. I called for someone’s attention even though two people clearly saw me standing there. The lady that finally came to help me seemed annoyed and when I asked for ketchup she rolled her eyes and said they didn’t have any.

Great beers but no seats at the bar, not a fan of standing and drinking after a long day... not set up for singles or anyone who enjoys sitting at the bar. Too bad I was looking forward to returning.
Good atmosphere pre-covid, plenty of seating and good music, but now indoor seating is closed. Some of the beers are decent, but many are not. It's about 50/50. Place is slightly expensive and no happy hour pricing. No food service which is a bummer. Since there's no indoor seating, patio in back gets cold and needs heaters. Service is meh, bartenders are not very courteous and generally unhelpful.
The service at the bar was outstanding. We didn’t appreciate the guy in the kitchen area who told us we had to order our food at the counter and pick it up ourselves. He didn’t say anything as we tipped him. During the course of the evening we noticed other patrons order from their table and the food was brought to them. Things like this disappoint customers and question if they’ll return or not. Besides his deception and laziness, everything else was great.
Not kid friendly. Pizza was served warm, wings were room temperature. Do you know how long freshly cooked wings have to sit to come to room temperature? Longer than food safetly regulations dictate. There was like one other table, so its not like they were super busy. First time = last time.

This place is garbage. They allow employees to bully their customers and try to run them over. We have videos.
This place is run by addicts, allows employees to try to run over customers and is FULL OF RATS. Rats in the food eating ingredients and running all over and around that kitchen. Rat almost fell on customer. Pictures and videos are next. This place messed with the wrong family. Health Department coming soon. Hurry and commense fumigation. This is not a family place. Risking people getting sick with those rats. These people are sick.
This is by far the worst place I have ever visited. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place made me feel so uncomfortable, music was so so loud it was annoying, staff were not welcoming and made us feel like we didn’t belong there, they were not attentive and they were not informative about the menu. No Customer service what’s so ever. We ordered some pizza and honestly 100% regretted eating it there. It was not a good environment it seemed like there was a preference in guest because we didn’t received the same service as the rest of the guest did. I will never ever come back here. Horrible and disappointing.
I spent $8 on an 8-ounce ale - unremarkable, except it cost >$1 (including gratuity) an ounce. I then walked >8 blocks to Burning Daylight for a tasty pint - for my mouth AND wallet. I also ordered tacos, a bratwurst and jackfruit sliders - all delicious. I wish the best of luck for Project Barley; I don't mind paying extra for something exceptional - I just don't imagine myself returning here. I just read a rebuttal from the owner, to wit: 'We do not serve an 8-ounce pour...' I was there with a colleague and both our glasses were 'filled' 3/4s. Now I'm obligated to return with a graduated beaker and empty the contents of my glass into it; the size of the container isn't indicative regarding the amount served. Ideally, my review encourages them to modify their practice & fill 'em up Note to owner: I'm glad you've had overwhelmingly positive reviews - Lomita needs a decent tasting room closer to where I live. Well, I stopped back in Labor Day with another local resident and we tried the Neverland Ale (?). Johnny was our bartender - and he filled our glasses to the rim; the beer was okay - I'll have to try other selections.
If I could leave minus Stars for customer service and the straight ignoring by staff. I would. Usually you greet and if you're busy. You say I'll be with you as soon as I can. But not here. It's like ignoring and not acknowledging your customers till they leave. I would never recommend going here.
