Very nice ambience and excellent service. The bistro1 has a great location with outside sitting area and amazing mezzes. The place is very popular for tourists and Londoners!. The kitchen has the flavours of the Mediterranean and Turkish cusine. They also has a great cocktail offer 2 for £15.90
Very nice place. Took a load off waiting for the concert, tough to find a spot to sit outside with good weather in a busy soho... Very welcoming. Complimentary bread with hummus was a nice surprise as I initially ordered just a beer waiting for the wife. Both bread and hummus were good and I can get picky 😉. I followed with Spicy Turkish sausage and I was not dissapointed. The sausage was lean, well seasoned and delicious. It's the attention of the staff that really stood out though. It was not invasive but I could feel well taken care of. Will certainly pop back in whenever peckish and in the area. Erdal was really nice, downright pleasant with his service. Thank you Erdal. After a long day of working in hospitality myself it's been a pleasure to have a nice seamless experience. Especially when it's a random walk-in
I’m in LOVE. My friend & I are touring Europe and we stopped here before a show, the streets were a little busy but we were the only table. The prices (2 courses for £19, 3 for £21) seemed cheap so I wasn’t expecting to be blown away… but this meal was sensational. (We got salads, bourek, lamb, Mediterranean chicken, apple tart.) The owner stopped by our table and was extremely kind, as well as the chef. He brought over a freshly prepared sauce and spooned it from the saucepan onto our plates. It was so bright and flavorful, I would’ve eaten it by itself! The apple tart with custard was the best apple dessert I’ve ever had. Our server was very sweet, he even brought us coffee on the house. I’m planning a trip to Turkey because of this meal.
We went to Chinatown expecting to eat at a Chinese restaurant, but found this place and stopped to try. It was so good! My husband had sea bass and said it was amazing. I ordered spaghetti and while waiting thought maybe I shouldn't have as this was not an Italian restaurant. It was the best spaghetti I have ever had. Banoffee pie and apple tart for dessert. Everything was amazing. You couldn't get better service either.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bistro1 on Frith Street, and I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a cozy decor that creates a comfortable ambiance. The food was absolutely delicious! We started with the feta cheese salad, and moussaka for the mains perfectly cooked and seasoned. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Bistro1. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was charming. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable meal in London.
Service was warm welcoming , food is simple & tasty . Perfect spot for a dinner . The best mash potato in Soho . The lentil soup was creamy and very delicious and also the main courses as well . The staff members are smiley and friendly . The restaurant is cozy. I recommend this restaurant , perfect for casual dining.
Second time I’ve come here now and I love it! The service as soon as I walk in is heart warming. The staff has always been friendly and patient. Though the waiting time for the food is a little bit longer than other places, the lush decorations on the wall are very much entertaining and I always end up conversing about the beautiful lights, paintings and mirrors on the wall. The food has always been unforgettable! Freshly made from the kitchen and tastes like home. I look forward to coming here again, and if you haven’t then I’d definitely recommend :)
a nice amount of choice, and immaculate service; we got given free olives and garlic bread and served tap water immediately which was really nice. i thought the food was good for the price, the rice was lovely and I had a basil pancake that’s i’ve never had before and it was yummy. the atmosphere is really nice, i didn’t feel as though it was too loud at all. the servers were lovely
A hidden jem in the middle of soho. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff and it won't break the bank. A decent Mediterranean menu, decent wines. Generally a really nice relaxed meal. Definitely going to return. Set menu 3 courses £21
An excellent meal, I met 5 grandchildren last evening and have to say the food was excellent!, 4 had steak and 2 of us had fish. All excellent quality, the starters were good and they served us chilled water without trying to sell us bottles!! Will definitely be going back!! Very reasonably priced 😄
Another great meal on Christmas Eve at Bistro 1 in Soho. I always order the mixed mezze starter and the lamb meatballs with the special homemade salsa. So good and so reasonably priced. Turkish bread and black olives are presented while you peruse the extensive menu. A delight.
The best food in town. The restaurant is one of our favourite one. Yesterday we had there a little birthday party and we well treat amazingly. The waiter (the older one) is the nicest person I never knew. Always nice and helpful. Highly recommended place.
Just had the full breakfast 😋 was delicious. Tanya was amazing, as were all the staff. Very happy to take photo of us in their wonderful bistro. We will definitely pay them another visit
Great gem. Superb service from Parminder and Eddie. Flavoursome honest freshly cooked/prepared food, good portion size at reasonable price. Comfortable setting. Pleasure to have dined here
What a fantastic and authentic restaurant. Excellent service and food and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.
wonderful food as well, will come back
I ate here last night, Thursday 12.12.24. What a pleasure. The atmosphere is amazing. Service, food quality, and presentation first-class. Highly recommend here for lunch or dinner 5*****
I had dinner at Novellino Bistro in London recently, and it was genuinely impressive. The place has a cozy, stylish vibe that makes you feel right at home. Every meat dish we tried was spot-on – cooked just right with amazing flavors. Ali, the waiter was friendly and really knew the menu, offering some great recommendations. If you’re looking for a kosher meal in the area, Novellino Bistro’s definitely worth a visit
We booked a table for 8pm but had to wait outside a bit as the place was totally full, previous table hadnt left yet. The staff were great, all seemed to be having fun, good family vibe. The food was nice, good value, youll struggle to get better in Soho, the host even gave me and my date a large glass each on the house before we left. Definitely coming again
Our experience here was actually perfect. Not often you can say that about a place! The ambience was lovely, lamps are gorgeous and the music was really cool! The staff were attentive, friendly and generous. Service was not rushed at all but just right for pre theatre dining. The value was excellent and all that positivity before we even get on to the food! We had olives, bread, calamari and the mixed meze and then the goats cheese pancake and halloumi salad and the apple tart tatin. Everything was fresh, delicious, perfectly cooked, great balance of the different accompaniments to each dish. Will absolutely be heading back next time we’re in town, great location for theatre too!
Big thanks to Ms. Tugba for the warm hospitality and kind smile at the cozy spot where we enjoyed a beer, hummus, and fries. She truly made the visit special!
Great value, super tasty and wonderful, warm service. Delight at the Turkish lights which adorn the restaurant. Central location. Worth a visit.
We spent a very nice moment in this restaurant, with a nice atmosphere, and the food, even simple, was delicious. The person serving us was charming, always smiling.
Lovely food, friendly atmosphere, great service. Menu contains a lot of dairy (as you might expect fir Mediterranean food)- which is an issue for me - but on talking to the staff, they were able to offer me alternatives, so very happy.
Lovely restaurant with beautiful decor and friendly staff. Food was fresh and tasty and very reasonably priced.
Went there for a meal yesterday 14/09/2025 between watching the Cursed Child. The service was lovley and quick. They where also thoughtful. We didnt ask for it but we got complimentary olives and garlic bread. We didnt feel rushed and it felt like they cared as nothing was to much trouble. I asked if they didn't mind taking a photo, as it was a special occasion and again they where happy to. Really lovely place and all round good vibes. Thank you.
Fantastic gem in the heart of theatre land. If you’re looking for a decent meal with lovely staff where you don’t have to break the bank, this is your spot to go. They do have gluten free food and staff can advise on this. Service is very good, quick and pleasant.
We went there on Christmas Day itself. It's one of the not-too-many restaurant that are open. The food are quite good especially the Pumpkin Soup, Falafel Hummus with Pita bread which are both starter. The restaurant are really kind as well in serving us free olives and garlic pita bread. Considering it's Christmas Day, the price is extremely reasonable.
Visited on a random evening from Bedfordshire and was extremely impressed with the chilled ambiance and the best steak I have had for a very long time …. Will definitely make the effort to return this year 🙏🙏🙏
This restaurant is a hidden gem. We were going to the theatre and had been looking at all the usual named places to eat and just happened to come across Bistro1. We were warmly welcomed and given complimentary olives and bread (a lovely touch). The food was tasty and plentiful and the staff friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Bistro1 and will definitely be back next time we are at the theatre in their area.
If you want a quick affordable meal in central London this is the place. Great food , great service, friendly staff. Eaten here twice now will certainly come here again
What a gem of a place in central London. 3 course menu for 18.90 with a great variety of food to choose from plus free garlic bread and olives. Lovely, attentive staff. And the rose sparkling wine is to die for. And a free limoncella at the end. We'll definitely be back
Nice place inside, nice patio eating area. Food was good also. I see lots of hit and miss reviewed from others which seems like a common theme in all the places we have eaten at in the UK the last three weeks. We had a fine experience with only minor mixup in ordering but nothing to get worked up about. They were fixed with no argument. The meals had a simple elegance to them and were subtle in extra seasoning and sauces, they let the ingredients do the work for taste which I prefer vs drowning food in sauces because they don’t know any better. This place seems to have this under control and modest but effective. We enjoyed our time and food here today.
Pre-Theatre Dinner Thursday evening. A real find – lovely, cozy restaurant with a warm welcome and warm feel throughout. The staff are very pleasant, attentive, with a smile and a sense of humour. Their menu is extensive – eclectic as has been said, but predominately mediterranean. We went for the 2 course dinner. Complimentary Bread & Olives beforehand which were appreciated. We were impressed and the bill was reasonable. Happy to recommend and will revisit.
Great food and place near Chinatown in London.
The service was great. Though the food wasn’t anything special. You’d think the plate design and the way the food was served on the plate would be more meticulous and unique like the beautiful lanterns and the interior design. They were quite stingy with lettuce in the caesar salad which was odd.
i have had a bad experience overall, i was literally pushed out when i tried to get in because apparently it was fully booked even when i had a booking but no one even asked first just dashed me out, when that was solved, i ordered the 3 course deal while waiting for my friend. the starter looked like it was made in bulk as the “crispy” potatoes was soggy and the main was missing some ingredients that was described on the menu (the grilled salmon) the banoffee pie as dessert was actually good. and there was a waitress there that was kind enough to deserve the optional service charge otherwise i’d have taken out.
One good waiter, the rest did not care at all. Either they give 100% attention which gives you no personal space or time to decide what to get, or they just don’t stick care. They were chatting with their friends instead of giving us the bill.
I don’t know why this place has such high ratings, the food was terrible and we were sat next to the bathroom which emitted a horrible smell every time the door was opened. The chicken skewers were unseasoned and the lamb shish was so hard and firm, it was like eating a rock made of meat. Both of these dishes were even recommended by the server! The chicken shish was equally as bad. Some of the rice was all clumped together as well. I am very sad it cost £20 for this pitiful meal.
One of the worst dinner I ever had in my life. The steak in my burger was so bad that it tasted like pork. Nobody should ever consider this restaurant as a place to eat, even if the prices are low. Cocktails and service was ok but the food was disgusting
