The lovely waitress Shirley remembered us from a year ago! Again she looked after us really well and explained the specials. Being a Monday lunchtime the place was quite empty so it was easy to hear each other speak. Sometimes it can be quite noisy. The food was excellent - particularly my favourite Gambas Al ajillo. Prices have gone up again - but I guess they have in most places. Thank you Shirley for making it a special birthday celebration yet again! 🎊💝🥂
First time dining here after a recommendation from a friend. A friendly welcome on arrival and this was consistent across all staff. Really good. A nice dining room that had a busy buzz but didn't feel too "close" to other tables. Easy to chat and not feel as though you're being listened to. The cava was really good while we chose from the menu. Honestly every dish was really good. We had a very late arrival of one dish but the staff were great and comp'd it plus a drink on the house which was above and beyond and meant we had to stay for dessert. A great experience from start to finish. Thank you to all staff.
If you don't know get to know Camino ..from the first spectacular cocktail mixed to perfection with tasty bar snacks ..the super friendly staff we moved from the great spacious bar area and into the restaurant .again the staff explained the fantastic menu in detail as one of our party needs to avoid certain ingredients ...the food just kept coming and every dish was fantastic ..I would recommend Camino for drinks food and a wonderful experience with the staff who really made the night special .
We booked for 5.30 as we had a theatre booking and wanted to leave enough time to enjoy the meal. Service was very prompt our waitress was very polite and helpful. We had drinks initially and then each chose 2 tapas to share. We were a party of four. So eight between us. This proved to be plenty and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The food came hot and promptly. We finished dining and had plenty of time to get to the theatre.
Had been here with my pals, the staff were so lovely with all the love and laughs, they often asked us if we’re okay with the food and stuff, a staff named Havlin was very kind and generous, served us food with love and smile. Would recommend this Resto Bar 10/10 for my other friends. Thanks Camino ❤️
A little gem of a bar in King’s cross. Perfect for a glass after work. Fab Spanish wines to choose from and they even have Pincho Happy Hour! Get a free pincho with every glass of wine between 5-6 pm. I love the gildas. Arthur & Domnal behind the bar are knowledgeable and fabulous! Great service :)
Visiting Camino felt like stepping into a sunlit corner of Andalusia. The space is cosy yet elegant, perfect for family meals, quiet dinners, or lively evenings. Shreyas, our waiter, welcomed our toddler with warmth while guiding our meal with calm confidence. My wife couldn’t get enough of the pulpo. It was tender, lightly charred and impeccably cooked. My solomillo(ordered rare)was a masterclass in flavour. Gambas al ajillo, rich with garlic, transported me straight to Malaga. And the anchovies on bread were clean, briny perfection. Desserts concluded the evening beautifully: a delicate Basque cheesecake for me, lightly spiced churros for her. Don’t forget to order a bottle of Cava and a glass of sherry! Camino doesn’t just serve tapas - it captures the heart of southern Spain. Thank you!
My first visit prior to catching a train from King’s Cross and it was well worth the 5 minute walk away from the station facilities. Great decor, service and most of all, excellent food. Plenty of seating both indoor and out and a wide selection of dishes to choose from. Definitely be back next time we have some time to burn while travelling.
My wife and I went for dinner here recently and had such a lovely evening. From the moment we arrived, the welcome at reception was warm and professional – we were seated really quickly. Before we even sat down, we got chatting to a guy called Caesar who was carving the hams for the charcuterie board. He was so passionate and knowledgeable, telling us all about where the different meats came from. It was such a nice touch and really set the tone for the night. We were shown to a great table, and the service throughout the meal from all the waiting staff was spot on. The restaurant had a lovely buzz about it – busy but not deafening, with a nice mix of people. Now for the food… honestly, everything was cooked to perfection. We had the Pan con Tomate, grilled octopus, garlic prawns, and an artichoke heart dish. So simple but so authentic and full of flavour. We also tried an orange contact wine which was one of the best we've ever had, and finished with some Spanish sherry which was the perfect end to the meal. Oh, and there was a Spanish coffee too – I can't remember the name of it, but wow, it was delicious. The whole team here are a real credit to the place. We'll definitely be back.
We had a wonderful experience here. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed and inviting. The space is thoughtfully designed, elegant yet comfortable, which makes it perfect for both a quiet dinner and a special evening out. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly without feeling intrusive. Everything flowed naturally and we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. It is one of those places where you can truly slow down, enjoy the ambiance and simply appreciate the moment. We will definitely return.
An absolute standout dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and thoughtfully designed inviting without being pretentious. The food, however, is the real star. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly made with high-quality ingredients and real care. The balance of seasoning, texture, and creativity was spot on, making each bite memorable without trying too hard. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly, striking that rare balance of being present without hovering. Portions were generous, prices felt fair for the quality, and the overall experience left us already planning our return. This is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why dining out can be such a pleasure highly recommended. Andddddd Haviln was really sweet and highly professional!!! Many thanks haviln for the sweet hospitality :))
my THE favourite restaurant in/around King's Cross. I frequent this restaurant for lunch and dinner. The food is superb, and because of the size (small plates), I don't need to worry "would it be too much, would it be enough?" The service is superb, the entire team is warm and welcoming and cheerful, it's so good to see a team works as a team. The seating is very comfortable. If I had an option, I would rate the restaurant 10 out of 5. Keep it up, Team Camino at King's Cross.
Me and a friend visited Camino last night for dinner. Just around the corner from King’s Cross / St Pancras. Lovely decor & huge restaurant with also a separate bar space, a courtyard and lounge. The food and wine was incredible. We ordered a bunch of tapas which were delicious. The staff were impeccable, huge thanks particularly to Saman for his help and attention throughout the evening ! Definitely recommend and would visit again.
Amazing Spanish restaurant in Kings Cross with delicious tapas. Wide range of wines available. Staff are extremely friendly, very attentive, always checking up on us to see how we’re enjoying the food. Beautiful interior as well as their courtyard. Came to Camino multiple times for their tapas & wines and always had a good vibe here. Special thanks to Brigita who has been exceptionally wonderful to us everytime.
The food was excellent but the staff truly stood out. Despite being extremely busy on a Thursday evening, they were incredibly friendly and attentive. They delivered drinks and food with genuine enjoyment, a noticeable difference from many other places. The food was delicious, perhaps one of the best Spanish I’ve had in a while, even better than many restaurants in Spain. The highlight is the backyard, a tranquil setting perfect for a post-dinner drink or two.
The vibe here was amazing! The way they treat their customers is incredible serving food with such respect and love truly makes it taste even better. I give them a 10/10 for their attentiveness. A special shoutout to Havlin, who made us feel so comfortable; her friendly conversation made our meal even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to all my friends
Really good Ok so Camino are a reliable chain but the KingsX restaurant is a good one. Lovely courtyard area, but inside is also roomy and pleasant. Friendly and efficient service, food came really quickly. Price was good and food was tasty
The Best Christmas Catch-up – Five Stars for Camino and the Legend that is Shirley! I visited Camino last week for a Christmas catch-up with friends, and while the food and atmosphere were top-notch, the real star of the show was our server, Shirley. If there were an Olympic sport for "Glass Management," Shirley would be taking home the Gold. I’m reasonably certain my glass never actually reached empty; she had a sixth sense for whenever we were parched. It was like magic, but with more beer and fewer rabbits. Beyond her impeccable timing, Shirley was incredibly patient and attentive with our group’s various dietary requirements. She didn't just "check the list", she took the time to understand what we needed and recommended specific dishes to different people based on their tastes. It’s rare to find someone who knows the menu so well that they can play "culinary matchmaker" for a table of hungry friends. The rest of the team were also fantastic, working like a well-oiled machine in the background, but Shirley really made our night special. We left with very full stomachs and very happy hearts. If you're heading to Camino, pray that you get Shirley’s section. She is an absolute credit to the team!
Food was great and came out quite quickly! We had all the usual Spanish tapas food, and our stomachs were full! The atmosphere is a lively one. It was busy on a Saturday night but there was good music and the service was good. The restaurant itself is in a great location, and recommended if you want a quick bite to eat with friends before travelling elsewhere.
Visit here on a monthly basis, tapas quality is consistently high. I will recommend the black squid rice, Iberico pork, and basically all of their seafood based tapas. Even their black pudding is very tasty with the improved recipe. You just can’t be wrong here. Plus it is so close to Kings cross but locates in a quiet valley. Service is warm here too. A happy customer!
We visited with friends when in search for nibbles and drinks. The venue is massive, offering lively bar area, large but intimate restaurant, and an outside terrace. The service was friendly, professional, and quick. We had a handful of different tapas from charcuterie selection with bread, to seafood dishes. We did have to order additional portion of Arroz Negro since it was just too good. Croquetas were made to perfection. I've finished the evening off with my favourite café bombón. Lavatories were well looked after throughout the evening. We had a great time, and I'm delighted to now be aware of such a versatile venue for when I'm in the area again.
Had a wonderfull meal here. Surprised by the Arroz Negro, was the winner dish for me
The food was served a bit too fast but taste wise I was very very happy with it. My favorite was the risotto. All friendly staff 👍🏻
Early dinner with family. Fantastic food with excellent wine. Friendly service. Love the fact you can book a longer time at your table. Handy for catching the train afterwards.
I’m Spanish, while waiting for our table and sitting at the bar we got a glass of wine and they offered a tapa of carved ham…You just made me so happy and feeling like home! Food was very nice, service perfect. If you Spanish stay away from churros, but the cheesecake was delicious! My favourite? Black rice, I would have clean the plate with bread…. Really good wine too. I will come back!
Everything was really well taken care of from beginning to end. We were a party of 14 and Sai our server alongside his colleagues took excellent care of our table. Drinks and food were flowing and honestly it was all delicious. Some favourites were the Arroz Negro, talos the chorizo and lamb leg. Great job everyone it was an amazing way to celebrate together.
Been to Camino several times and it's awesome every time! Food is awesome, service is spot on, and staff are so lovely and kind! A massive thank you to Shirley also for looking after us so well each time! Highly recommend!
Great food, exceptional service. Ventsi was very attentive and picked up that I don't drink from our drinks order. Later, he stopped me from inadvertently ordering a dessert with sherry in it. Thanks!
Food was really tasty, and the portion sizes were just right — not tiny like many tapas spots. The staff were friendly, helpful, and pretty quick even though the place was busy. We tried the ribeye and the fillet, and both were cooked perfectly — great temperature and flavour. Overall, a very good experience. Would definitely go back.
What a fantastic place to dine - gorgeous interior with a terrific glass dome over the centre. Friendly, accommodating staff. Delicious food: I recommend the Arroz Negro - their signature creamy black rice, squid ink, cuttlefish and alioli - so good! They do carafes of wine if you don't want a full bottle. Putting this place on my Fav London restaurants list. Highly recommend.
Went to Camino for a birthday dinner yesterday evening. We ordered one of each tapas so got to taste all of them. The food was exceptional. Every plate was clean at the end. I thought I had to recognise it in a review. Service and wine also excellent. Great job 👍
Another great experience at Camino. Food was delicious and came out really quickly. Amazing service from Rae, really attentive and personable. She made our experience really special!
The food is absolutely delicious. The tapas are served slightly slower than I expected but they are really good. Especially the black rice, it taste amazing, I love it so much. One thing I would say is the price is charged slightly high but I would still take it since the food is worthwhile. Also, the restaurant is very noisy, I can’t even hear what myself is saying to friends. If you are looking for a relaxing evening, this might not be the best choice for you. But in terms of food, it definitely worth to try.
Three adults and a child visited, went for three £40 menus - told it had to be four and there was no child menu - add £9.50 each for the steak option - a bottle of red at £48, plus a coke and pint of Estrella so max £275 - bill came to £369 as everything priced individually. Bill padded by almost £100. I accept maybe an honest mistake and happy for Camino to rectify and review to be updated to reflect that. Update Camino have contacted me directly and apologised and are making things square - still a little pricey but generally great food and service.
During a recent visit to London, we stopped for lunch at Camino, a stylish restaurant nestled beside King’s Cross station. The interior is beautifully designed, sophisticated yet inviting, with an understated elegance that sets the tone for a refined dining experience. The staff were exemplary: highly professional, attentive without being intrusive, and clearly dedicated to ensuring a seamless meal. We sampled a selection of tapas, most of which were well executed and flavorful. The only slight letdown were the potatoes, which felt underwhelming compared to the other dishes. While prices lean toward the higher end, the quality of the food, coupled with the restaurant’s ambiance and impeccable service, justifies the cost. Camino is a standout choice for those seeking a taste of Spain in central London, perfect for both casual lunches and special occasions.
Good and authentic Spanish restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food tasty and well prepared. The menu has an excellent allergy and food intolerance finder on their intranet once you get there. The staff took huge trouble to ensure my daughter got food that would agree with her.
The order system has some error. While the food tastes good. Recommend Arroz Negro.
Great place to come if you want to escape the hecticness of the Kings Cross area or use as a meeting point with friends. Surprisingly spacious bar and restaurant areas. Fast and attentive service. Portion sizes are a little small, especially bearing in mind the prices.
Lovely variety of food. Services is lacking as they are going to the other tables with our food, couldn't figure out the table numbers. It's also difficult to get hold of a waiter as they don't make eye contact when walking past. Overall experience is satisfactory but there is definitely room for improvement.
Lovely tapas place in King's Cross. Great selection of tapas available to suit all tastes however I would say some dishes lacked a bit of flavour and were also a little overpriced. Additionally the range of beers on draft was quite limited which was disappointing considering there is also a bar as part of the premises. Otherwise this place is really great as it is hidden away in an alley away from what is usually a super busy area. Servers were also very friendly and accommodating.
I love coming here for the cheap happy hour drinks - the house red wine is delicious The food however was very average - the prawns didn’t taste right, definitely cooked from frozen. The arroz negro and pork was fine
I was here yesterday with my American friend and was not satisfied. I ordered a steak and 2 times it was made terribly very small portions of dark indoors, as if specially so that you would not see what they were giving you. but I'm an expert on steaks. the only one where I can be satisfied is the work of the staff, who’s sorry, and the manager came, who’s also sorry, that was nice !! my friend from America turned 22 years old had experience in a restaurant. so it was interesting how the restaurant staff will behave. therefore always check what they give you
I have been before to Camino - albeit a few years ago… and unfortunately tonight’s meal was not great. It started badly - the bread and olive oil - bread too big and not that tasty… The padron peppers were tasty - but small. Onto the mains: patatas bravas - somewhat tasteless despite the sauce… tasted frozen - not fresh. The crab - was ok - wouldn’t order it again though… oh and only 3 tiny bits of hard bread. And finally the croquettes - best of the bunch… balls not the oblongs we come to expect - but nonetheless tasty. All in all - if you NEED Tapas, and you are in Kings Cross - and can’t go anywhere else - I suppose this place will just about suffice… but don’t go out of your way to go there… we did - and what a shame…
The baked crab isn’t actual baked crab. It’s a decorative shell filled with a pre-made crab paste. This may be fine for some people, but if you’re expecting any actual crab to be baked like me (even a small frozen half crab), this dish doesn’t contain that. Two of us shared one starter and three heavier plates, but it still wasn’t very filling, and we ended up getting more food elsewhere. Service also felt a bit unbalanced. Staff spent time asking individually what our favourite dish was, but finished plates were never cleared from the table, even after we stacked them, which made the table crowded and awkward during the meal.
Went here for lunch. Do not recommend. The portions are super small and overpriced. 2 fancy cheesesticks cost 7 pounds, which were too greasy. My small tacos were cold (the waiter mentioned that someone else has complained about that but said the plate is hot when it comes out- mine was not! It was lukewarm food at best. They were delicious and intriguing, but they weren't as great as they could have been. The patata bravas was delicious too! I recommend those! Our waiter took almost 30 minutes to let us pay because he ignored us- I'm not kidding, he avoided our table during service, could not even make eye contact to flag him because he LOOKED AT THE GROUND everytime he walked near our direction and if we tried to say something, he was talking to a new party instead about their order. Mind you, before he was perfectly fine on looking at our table, checking in on us on how the food tasted, etc. It wasn't until we wanted to leave he avoided us! Also, he did a half-ass half-sincere "thank you for your patience" at the last second after we paid. Mind you, we already waited for 30 minutes to just leave- we almost walked out entirely because we were 1 of 3 parties there in total! Then he finally came up, didn't apologize right away and had the audacity to ask "you ready to pay?" For it to only take 45 seconds and then he said "thanks for your patience." The hostess was nice! The waiter's professionalism needs to improve. He also tried to push ONLY the most expensive and might I add new steak/meal when we asked for recommendations at first. I was really excited for this place but was heavily disappointed that we waited for them to open to eat there and loose precious time when we wanted to leave for our next event.
The price of the food dose not reflect what you actually get. Friends returned food. I paid £27.50 for a slice of steak (so thin) & a plate of garnish. Drinks quite weak but the place itself is nice . The court yard is a lovely space and our waiter was so funny that I just paid my £60 bill- steak, frozen chips (this should be real potatoes chips) & 1 cocktail. Kinda wish I had taken 1 customer advice… go next door for a better priced meal (5 guys) we came for an event so like I mentioned great for hiring the space
Meat was very fatty. No working lock on the toilet door. Loo roll on the floor and no loo roll in the toilet for customers. Clearly no one had checked the toilets all night. On the bill, there is a service of 12.5% which totally fair, however when using their new "scan to pay your bill feature", is asks if you would like to pay a tip, this is on top of the service charge. Felt very cheeky and not made very clear. Been her a few times before, but has gone downhill.
Heavily overpriced, portions comically tiny. Restaurant was empty yet service was non existent, struggled to order more drinks or even get the bill because no one pays attention. Food came out at random and delayed times some people at my table got their food 20 minutes after others already finished Even coffee was a disappointment, ordered double espresso and got instant coffee with a bit of cold water which wasn’t even mixed properly £270 bill and went home to order food online because left hungry Wouldn’t even consider returning ever again.
