Cecconi’s was a great experience! We had the burrata pizza, zucchini fritti, a classic margarita cocktail, and tiramisu, everything was fresh and full of flavor. The pizza was especially delicious, with a perfect crust and creamy burrata. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, with a lively but not overwhelming vibe. Great service too. Highly recommend for a quality Italian meal in a beautiful setting!
Great place for pizza. No canned pizza sauce here. They start with plain tomato sauce, then add spices. We enjoyed with their tomato, garlic and basil pizza, adding mushrooms and mozzarella. Cooked in a wood fired oven….fantastic.
Visited on a quiet Sunday lunchtime. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, we shared a starter and had a pizza each for main. Very reasonably priced for the centre of London, would definitely recommend!
Nice for quick lunch! Food is very decent.
I had a Peroni and a pizza, and I sat at the bar. It was a great place to sit in Soho as a solo diner and service was friendly and fast. Definitely recommend. I've been here previously as a group and it was excellent then too. Food is always of top quality.
I am a big fan of my the main Cecconi’s restaurant in Mayfair hence my expectation was high. Food was excellent for starters, pasta and pizza (the brownie was a big disappointment … ). Service was great. I can only recommend.
Ishams recommendation was perfect. The pizza he recommended was perfect his customer service is as amazing and tbh he was just an all round lovely guy all round x
Food is Fresh, beautifully prepared, one of the best in London in fact my favourite at the moment, such a variety to choose from, spoilt for choice, if you haven’t tried this place and love good home style food I would definitely recommend it, you will not regret it .
Great experience. The food is delightful and very nicely presented and their pasta as well as their desserts are to die for! The staff are kind and very fast. Overall a high quality restaurant for family and friends.
Very very tasty food , you can feel they use top quality products to make pizza and pasta , service is solid ,we are very happy , we were served by host lady from Spain and young man Francesco Lovely guys and very kind people and know what they do , i highly will recommend my friends to visit such a great place.
The best margarita pizza I have ever tasted!! Creamy tomato sauce with crispy crust and a great size. Make sure to stop in if you are around, you won't regret it!
Been a few times but last was the best. Super friendly staff, great pizzas, fun atmosphere. I was drinking a espresso martini that tasted ok but the manager spotted it wasnt the right color and just brought me another one free of charge ( second one was perfect).
Good food and beautiful place. Nice that they have vegan options. The music was too loud for my taste since it was hard to have conversations with my friends at the table.
Had a great dinner here! We ordered the napoli pizza and the cacio e pepe, both were outstanding. Super reasonably priced too, ended up paying ~50 total with drinks, entree and mains. Service is super fast and staff friendly, although the place was crowded and quite loud.
Finally reopened!!! Was waiting few months to eat my fav pizza and zucchini ❤️ delicious like always! Many thanks to manager Arleta for a warm welcome and looking after us like a pro 🥰 See you soon!
Lovely service and atmosphere. Food very tasty, we had the zucchini fritte, truffle arancini, focaccia and cacio e pepe and everything was delicious! Highly recommend the arancini, the pasta & tiramisu
Loved it here! The smaller portions and pizzettes are excellent for a lighter lunch! It w beer selection is tasty and the service was quick. Salami pizzette, appetizer meatballs, and Orecchette pictured here.
Had a lovely vibe at Cecconi’s tonight. Atmosphere was relaxed and the traditional food made for a lovely, easy date. The bartender (Jimmy) was welcoming and had a good vibe about him. He informed us on a couple of drinks too which was appreciated. I would recommend going for a date night or if youre in the area and need somewhere reliable which was us, then its a good place to have in your back pocket.
Really nice place, food and service was brilliant. Our waitress Shardaye was exceptional, in fact everyone on the team were very professional
Food including starters and pastas was great but the spritzs we tried were too watery. Atmosphere is good but Music can get loud on Friday evenings so not recommended if youre looking for a place to have conversations! Gets busy on weekends so make sure to make a reservation
Ignore the poor reviews, they’re generally coming from people rushing in from/before the theatre expecting food to come quickly. Though we did have dinner here on a Monday night it was still decently full (though not crowded) We had 2 main courses and 2 sides. Excellent pizza and a good pasta. Sides were exceptional especially the truffle arancini. Great music/atmosphere as well.
Was busy when we went, didnt have a reservation, but the manager accomodated us. Special shout out to Cristina the manager who recommended soom food which we loved, and she really made our night. Will be back with friends
Our server Ezra (not sure if I’m spelling that correctly) was one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. Truly encapsulated what a good member of waitstaff should be. On top of that the food was delicious and I felt like the price was fair for what we had. We will definitely be back when we’re in soho next
Visited here yesterday on Thursday. Staff was welcoming, and we were a bit early to our booking not too busy around 6.15pm. The food all came out at a good time, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Only the Carbonara pasta was a letdown and did not taste that good, so I would not recommend that dish. All other dishes ordered, as seen in the picture, were tasty.
Cool downtown spot for pizza and drinks in London! On time for my reservation, I was sat at a table which seemed tightly packed into the restaurant. The pizza was very tasty and the menu had a good array of options for food and drink! A cool spot!
Had a lovely meal here last night . Very good service except at the very end when they never returned for plates and to bring dessert menu. Service was great until that point .Tortellini was delicious. Recommend .
Solid pizza, not extraordinary but really solid! Nothing to complain, an good trained service! Gave us a summary of our order, quick and with good communication! 👍 real++
I had a dinner there with colleagues, we didn’t have reservations, but the staff was able to find us a table right away. Food was really tasty and the service was good. We have waited just a few minutes although the entire restaurant was full. Staff is really friendly and polite and can give you a good recommendation if you are not sure what you want. I can personally recommend the pizza options. It can become a bit noisy during the dining time but it’s ok.
Nice dinner experience in the hear of Soho. Close to all of the London attractions, it's a nice pre / post theatre hang out. The pizzas are quite good, well baked and creative. I do find it weird that some pizzas are not with mozzarella by default, and yet the waiters ask you to add a supplement for. The Caccio e pepe was very good and it's nice to have the choice between small or normal portions for the pasta mains. The service was all in all quite good and the atmosphere was nice. One thing that I do find weird, is the fact that on the check, they charge more money for a single espresso than a double. In our case it didn't matter much, but overall very bad.
Very nice drinks and amazing ambience. The service was slow and at times we were just left at the table with no service for over 20 minutes. The pizza flavours were interesting, and they were made well. Good value for money!
Reasonably priced & food was served quickly. Generous portion for the small pasta dish. The pizza was too salty though and staff are very busy so it was hard to grab their attention.
Good food, great atmosphere and great for a drink. Gets quite busy particularly on Thursdays and Fridays but midweek is a great spot for a catch-up and a bite to eat with friends. Highly recommend the Truffle Arancici and espresso Martini.. Service: Consistently pretty great, whilst staff can be somewhat overwhelmed during busy periods as typical with most London bars and restaurants they always remain personal and friendly. Service can be slower than many restaurants, however not slow enough to be an issue and this is more than made up for in the quality of the food and drink. Food: Overall great all around. The food is reasonably priced for central London and everything on the menu is absolutely fantastic. Following in the Cecconi’s name, quality of the ingredients and the food really shows with all of the dishes tasting fresh and delicious. Everytime stopping by we almost always end up with atleast a pizza and the Arancini balls as both are too good to not order. Drinks are also well made and a good selection with an excellent wine list to cover all budgets. The espresso martini is a stand out across London and highly recommended. Atmosphere: Well thought out lighting and very nicely decorated, there is not much you can really fault about the atmosphere. It’s all been very well curated and put together along with the food and drink. In summer evenings when the front doors are open it’s wonderful to be sat by the front for a meal or drinks and at the same time is wonderful being able to sit outside. Inside is great for a date or even just a drink and meal with friends.
Visited in summer with friends and came in with no reservation- after a bit of back and forth they were able to seat us at the bar (even though there were a few tables available). Levi served us at the bar where we had our food, he was very nice, welcoming and gave us some recommendations for what to order! I recommend the pasta: rigatoni bolognaise!
First-time visit with mixed feelings — amazing food, but disappointing service I dined here for the first time this evening. Although we didn’t have a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and seated at the bar, which was a great spot to start. The menu was impressive, offering a beautiful selection of Italian dishes and cocktails — we were genuinely excited. However, the service throughout the evening left a lot to be desired. After receiving our initial drinks from the bartender, we mentioned we needed a few more minutes to decide on food. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that the bar was severely understaffed, with only one person trying to manage both drinks and service for the entire area. We ended up waiting about 25 minutes before we had to flag someone else down just to place our food order. Later, we moved to the chef’s counter when a friend joined us, as there was more space. From that point on, we received virtually no service. We had to go to the bar ourselves to order additional drinks and even had to follow up when they hadn’t arrived after 15 minutes. Although the food was excellent and came out quickly, the drinks didn’t arrive until the same time as our mains — something that, as someone with hospitality experience, I know should be avoided. Throughout the rest of our meal, no one checked in with us, cleared our plates, or offered another round of drinks. We eventually had to flag down (what seemed to be) a manager just to pay the bill. At that point, it was disappointing to see a 13.5% service charge automatically added, considering how little service we actually received. Overall, it felt more like a self-service experience than dining out — which is such a shame because the food and setting were genuinely lovely. It seems the team was understaffed and overwhelmed, which impacted the entire experience. I hope this feedback is taken as constructive — there is so much potential here, and I’d love to return when the service side is running more smoothly. The food deserves to be matched by equally thoughtful and attentive service. I hope that this was just bad luck on our side but I would love to return but could only hope that service won’t be received again.
Cecconi’s – A Bustling Soho Staple with Good Food Our second stop on the London secret food tour was Cecconi’s, and while the pizza looked amazing, we decided to try the truffle arancini instead. These little bites were filled with gooey fontina cheese and came in a serving of four. They were good, but I think the truffle flavor was a bit overwhelming after a while, even for a truffle lover like me. The restaurant was packed with locals, which is always a good sign. However, the busy atmosphere meant the staff seemed overwhelmed. There was a lot of commotion, and at one point, a waitress dropped and broke a few plates nearby. Overall, the food was good, and Cecconi’s is clearly a popular spot, but the service and ambiance didn’t quite meet the high expectations. It’s a solid place, but for me, not quite a 5-star experience.
Basic pizza. Basic burrata. I’ve been to Cecconi’s in Mayfair so many times and that’s definitely my favourite. I know the two are very different but I expected more.
Starter and dessert, very good. The main, they weren't bad but, I would have expected a bit more for the price. The pumpkin ravioli with truffle had literally only 4 ravioli....honestly 6 wouldn't hurt as it's a main; however they were very tasty. The pizza was good, but maybe overpriced by the fact of having a bit of truffle, next time I would try something without truffle. The panettone was very very good, I loved it!
Cecconi’s pizza bar draws large crowds, creating a bustling and lively atmosphere. However, the popularity seems to stem more from its central location than the quality of its food. While the menu offers a wide variety of classic Italian pizzas and dishes, the execution falls short of expectations. The pizzas are serviceable but lack the authentic flavors and craftsmanship that one hopes for in an Italian restaurant. The crusts are underwhelming, and the toppings, while abundant, don’t quite come together to create a memorable dining experience. Other menu items follow a similar pattern of mediocrity. The overcrowded dining area can make the experience feel rushed and hectic, with limited space and long wait times for a table. Despite the energetic vibe, the restaurant struggles to maintain the quality of service during peak hours. Cecconi’s might satisfy a craving for a quick bite in a lively setting, but those seeking a true taste of Italy might be left wanting more.
The food was OK, nothing special, our friends dish was not good at all.. Not sure we will go again, the one in Kensington is alot better!
The food was the only good thing about our visit here. Too many people all in one section where tables have been squeezed in. The in-house DJ which would have been perfect for having drinks, but as it was a restaurant having food it was too loud and too much. The service was terrible. Snapped at when taking your order and having to get up and pay the maître d' as our waiter was not available to have desserts or even pay our bill.
Went here because friends recommended it, however I cannot say the same. The experience overall was pretty terrible due to terribly slow and forgetful service in addition to mediocre food that is highly overpriced, even for central London. Despite having a booking for the 4 of us, we were seated at the bar and made to wait 10 minutes until a table freed up, being encouraged to order their expensive drinks. Once we finally got a table, right next to a drafty window, the servers just forgot about and wouldn't come for the next 15 minutes. This was a trend throughout our whole stay, with some items just being forgotten and never served, and others brought way too late, such as water being brought after the meal. The meal took much too long for a lunch in the end and was a game of patience when we were all hungry. Overall highly disappointing service, which wasn't even during peak hours and the restaurant was not packed. I was hoping at least the food would make up for it considering the price, but the pizza was one of the worst I had. It was burnt to a crisp, being black on the bottom and the sauce feeling like a frozen pizza. The pastas and calamari fritters were pretty decent though, but still lacked a bit in taste and the bacon in the carbonara was also burnt. Trying to flag down a waiter to complain was of no use. Overall there are much better alternatives in the central area that provide much better value for money with better service.
This restaurant is beautiful inside and very welcoming, but the food is basic and school kids could cook better. Presentation of the food is horrendous and the food is very bland. I would suggest a relook at the menu and how each dish is served to the customer's. It’s seems the chef takes no pride in his food whatsoever. The pizzas look amazing and I would say it’s more a pizza restaurant. Very disappointed.
Another place with great food & ambience ruined by the service. Been here twice and the servers forgot about our order both times! In the first instance it was a dessert that we ordered which was delayed by 30 minutes. Upon asking, the server mentioned they forgot to punch our order, came back with the dessert after 5 minutes, apologised & didn’t charge us for it. Great! Visited again last night and this time, it was the mains. Exact same scenario, however, this time the manager didn’t even apologise for it. Simply put it on us & the server & walked away. We paid the bill, left and dined at another restaurant. The only good thing was that they removed the service charge themselves. I absolutely love the food here, but wouldn’t visit again.
Lovely staff and great location but very Boring and average food. I’ve been to the Mayfair branch many times and had amazing meals but this place did not live up to the name. Do better guys!
Don't bother coming here as a group. Despite multiple times asking for the normal menu. We were forced to do a £30 pound set menu despite none of us wanting to. For the price I ended up with 1 truffle arrachini ball, 2 small bits of calamari as starters, a main to myself which was tiny spaghetti with a sauce see picture.. and them we had to share 3 bowls of 1 scoop icream and a couple plates of tiramusu. On top of that we then had to pay £70 for service between us. What a joke. Absolutely disappointed in the service and management. Would be fine for a date night. Such a shame, as the food was nice just didn't get get to choose anything 😕
Food was ok. But really bad service. From waiters all the way to the managers were rude with us. Felt like they treated us badly just because we are not europen
About last night: Worst experience ever! The waiter looked like he was about to kill us because we changed tables (we were near the exit door- so it was a little bit cold) and went to another table. I asked him politely to clean the table, something he did not like. The restaurant wasn't busy to justify his behaviour. We had a carbonara pasta & spicy sausage pizza. The food was below average!!! We' ve also had 2 aperol spritzs and 1 bottle of still water. When we left i noticed that they charged us £10 more. Be careful guys!!
Two weeks ago I came to cecconi’s pizza bar with my friends. The food and service was bearable but I was charged over 60 pounds for something which was meant to be eight. I demanded a refund for my money ( as this is over a 52 pound mistake) I have not received my money back and the services to help me receive it have been absolutey awful. NEVER again !!
The service was terrible. While seated at the bar our order was taken incorrectly. Originally ordered a spaghetti carbonara but was served a tonnarelli cacio- pepe. The dish served didn’t match up either it was bland and didn’t have any black pepper or grated cheese. Overall ambience was great too bad everything else was terrible.
We booked a table for 11 and even ordered in advance, expecting a smooth dinner before the theatre. We arrived before 6pm and were seated shortly after, but the starters didn’t arrive until 6:45 and the mains didn’t appear until 7:35. Despite having pre-ordered, service was painfully slow and it was almost impossible to get anyone’s attention – even just to order drinks. One of our group had to leave before his main course to make a theatre show, and the rest of us had to rush through our food to make an 8pm reservation elsewhere. Over two hours for a pre-ordered meal is completely unacceptable. A real disappointment from a restaurant that should know how to handle group bookings efficiently.
