Kisaku Japanese Restaurant

Visited Sakusei and had a great experience. I ordered the beef bulgogi which was tender and full of flavour, and my wife had the sweet & spicy chicken really tasty and perfectly balanced. Both dishes came with rice and the portion sizes were just right. Friendly service and good value. Highly recommend!

Amazing food! I'd read the great reviews online and was going to be in Angel so knew I had to try Sakusei. I ordered the chicken katsu bento box and green tea. The bento box came with miso soup, some maki and salmon nigiri, pickled cucumber, cabbage salad, chicken karaage, a big piece of chicken katsu and sushi rice. It was delicious! I ate all of it! The service was really good. I didn't book and was expecting to wait but the restaurant was empty apart from people waiting for takeaway. I should imagine it's heaving on weekends. The restaurant itself is in Chapel Market, a really bustling area and close to Angel tube station. Can't wait to eat there again! Updated - I've eaten here twice since and both times it's been great. Took my nephew who loves to try new food and he was impressed!

I visited the restaurant with family and it had only been open 1 day !! The food was absolutely delightful, cooked very well. The flavours were out of this world and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We had a delightful experience. The meals were made with such skill, particularly the sushi which my daughter loved. The prices were very reasonable, good value for money. Will definitely be back for more.

This place was very neat and quiet. It’s such a very good place to eat if you are a solo date type of person, and also if you are going on a date hahaha. The customer service is excellent too, I was attended by a guy called Ishmaye he was very nice, friendly and helpful. I really liked this place i’ll be back surly :))

I recently visited the new Japanese restaurant on Chapel Market, and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious—tasty, fresh, and with great options on the menu. The portions were generous, especially considering the reasonable prices, making it a fantastic value for money. What truly stood out was the excellent service. Our server, Ismail, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and always had a smile on his face. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, and even greeted me warmly when I walked past the restaurant today. His attention to detail and welcoming nature really added to the overall experience. This restaurant is a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood, and it will definitely be my new local go-to. If you’re in Islington, I highly recommend giving it a try!

Fantastic Japanese and Korean spot with plenty of options for all food lovers. Affordable prices for the amount of food you get too. Everything we ordered was delicious - we (2 people) were extremely hungry but were satisfied with sharing a bento box, beef dish and 6 gyozas. A must stop if you’re looking for Asian food outside of Chinatown!

Great Japanese and Korean food. Loved the Chicken Karaage and the sushi platter was great too, very well made. Super friendly quick service and excellent value for money.

Underrated gem in Angel. High quality food, great service (managed by Matthew) with attention to details. High quality cutlery, nice dish presentation and soft quiet music. That’s what I needed after my 16-hour flight back home. The prices are reasonable, very good value for money!

Had an amazing dinner here. This shop is newly open but the quality is top-notch. I love the atmosphere here where I feel comfortable and relaxed. The food portion is large and tasted extremely flavoursome. Additionally, what made my experience truly special is the service from Ismail. He always smiled and checked whether everything is fine or I need anything else. His dedication to provide the best service made my dinner a memorable experience. Would recommend for anyone wanting to try Japanese or Korean food.

Went here for food a week ago and it was affordable, very tasty and the service was amazing. The waiters are extremely friendly, the place was very clean and the food was lovely. The sushi was extremely flavourful, the fish was full of flavour with each bite and the miso soup was so good, it warmed my stomach up. The mains were tasty as well, the portions are great and it was all worth the experience. The service made it all better though, very lovely and very accommodating. I had a 3 course for 30 pounds and managed to scoff it all thank you! I booked this restaurant on open table, however the website is not working to review.

An absolute revelation! Outstanding food in a welcoming, unassuming spot. Possibly my favourite restaurant in Angel after only one meal there - we even re-ordered the pork Katsu don because one just wasn’t enough. Reasonably priced and excellent service - I can’t praise Sakusei enough. Just wish there was a location on Insta to tag!

Went there with friends last night. Excellent food and relaxed friendly atmosphere. Better sushi than I've paid double for at more swanky Japanese restaurants. Fortunately I live just round the corner so this is going to become a regular!

It’s good, dependable spot for very well priced Japanese and Korean food. All the core elements are well executed. Sushi rice is at the correct temperature (not too cold) and fish is well sourced, fresh and tender. We were really happy about the affordable nigiri and maki rolls. Deep frying technique on the karage was excellent: crispy and not greasy. Not all of the cooking was perfect, though. Beef bulgogi was not seared at a high enough temperature to get the smokey charred taste I like. The Angel branch now serve wine, saki and beer. The pleasant house wine is a bargain at £19.

I got the katsu curry and it was delicious! I also recommend the king salmon roll.

Starters came out random times. The Takoyaki was frozen inside - the second attempt was also frozen inside. Also - ordered the larger Sashimi plate - the fish was extremely cold (from frozen). Inside the restaurant feels a little empty and unfinished. Unsure how this has such a high rating
