Firstly I was a walk in and Luckily got a table. Host was attentive and even adjusted the music volume for comfort when requested for a hearing impairment. Really respectful. It’s an intimate place so call ahead for busy times like hols and weekends. If you do you wouldn’t be disappointed! Best in class is the risotto marinara. Squid in their risotto succulent and fresh muscles and clams. Good size portion. Pizza was great too. Parmigiana starter outstanding. Foccocia was side order but didn’t reach the same quality however it was served with the parmigiana on time. Altogether I really like this old school Italian.

Food was incredible! Best Italian I’ve tried in a long time. Staff were so friendly, very cosy and good environment. Great value for money.

Stopped in on a whim and it was worth it. Started with the bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms followed by Lasagna and Chicken Milanese. I would encourage you to try both, very tasty. We finish with coffee and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. AMAZING! Come to Islington for a nice afternoon lunch.

Traditional Italian, really good food, quick service and well worth the money. Calzone was great and the dessert was also delicious

This is the best Italian food, I’ve had outside of Italy. We started with the focaccia and meatballs. Pro tip, dip your focaccia in the meatballs sauce. My wife had the carbonara which we both loved. I ordered handmade fettuccine ragu de carne and was so happy I did. I will be back to try the pizzas cause they looked amazing coming out of the oven. The staff makes the pizza in an open kitchen, which is so cool.

Delicious food that are good portion sizes too! Customer service is very friendly with many smiles. Can see why they are always so busy!

This is a real italian restaurant. If you go to Italy, you will eat the same. It is nice, fast, very pleasant, normal prices. The food is so good, that you want to come back and I did, several times. This is how things should be done.

After starting the night with disappointing news from steak house, my husband and I made our way to Mangia Bene. The Lord works in mysterious ways and I am so grateful for it! This place is AH-MAZING. Although the dining floor is very small, the food is exceptional. The wait staff is exceptional.

We were just walking by, and decided to try it . We were not disappointed. We had the lobster and prawn spaghetti in a tomato sauce which was delicious . Just what we needed on a cold afternoon. The food and drinks were a reasonable price. We will be back if we’re in the area .

It was a spontaneous decision to walk in with some family for a drink and a little bite. We only had a few starters including arancini and garlic bread. We were very impressed with food and service. Portions are generous and food absolutely brilliant. I'm sure we will be back for a proper meal.

Excellent Italian restaurant. I very much enjoyed my Minestrone soup and the Pizza. It was easy to see that everybody was enjoying the food around me, seafood, pasta, chicken and do. Great atmosphere and good service. I very much recommend.

Excellent food and service. Added to that we were about to walk to Sadler’s Wells in a rainstorm when the owner offered to get his car and drive us there! Fine food and chauffeured to our destination, 5 stars is barely enough.

I recently had the most delightful experience at MANGIA BENE! The risotto I ordered was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was it cooked to perfection, but the flavors were so rich and satisfying. What truly impressed me was when the chef himself came to our table to ensure everything was to our liking. That personal touch made the meal even more memorable. The aroma wafting from the kitchen was intoxicating, setting the perfect ambiance for a delightful dining experience. And to top it off, I requested to add crispy pancetta on top of my risotto, and the chef agreed immediately, further enhancing the dish. The combination of incredible food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. I can't wait to return!

Great food and generous portion at this little cosy restaurant. We had the handmade fettuccine (must try!) salmon, spaghetti carbonara (amazing cheese & bacon) and the seafood linguine. Friendly service. Fast and efficient too. Reasonably priced. Will come back again!!

A hidden gem! My son and I were just going for a quick bite to eat but ended up at a hidden gem. Incredibly nice host and the food was excellent. We ordered pizza and garlic bread with cheese. The garlic bread was almost a meal in itself. We will be back to spend another night with food and drinks here!

This was so unexpected. We had the most amazing food. 5 🌟 customer service and surprisingly extensive dessert menu, which definitely didn't disappoint. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

A very tasty calzone from Mangia Bene on chapel market in Islington. The dough was lovely and fillings were fresh and generous. Very authentic Italian feel to the place. The’d definitely benefit from an Instagram account to help funnel new business and highlight how great they are.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Mangia Bene, and it was nothing short of amazing. The restaurant has such a cozy, inviting atmosphere! The staff here are absolutely fantastic. They made sure everything was just right, from helping us pick the perfect wines to suggesting some of their standout dishes. They even gave me a sweet birthday surprise, which was such a thoughtful touch and really made me feel celebrated. If you're looking for a place to celebrate an occasion or just enjoy a wonderful meal, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back for another memorable dinner soon!

I am so thankful because after walking miles and being so hungry and tired, it was like entering a cozy home as a guest. At Mangia Bene, I ate and drank very well. They served with attentive kindness and allowed me to stay into the evening, eating slowly, and resting without any rush or judgement on fairly busy Saturday. Like a little piece of Heaven ✨ I pray that God’s blessing rest on this place, that they remain authentic and successful always!

If you find a good restaurant, stick with it! Really nice family restaurant. They understand children and serve good food. We are staying in the neighbourhood and went here three times in a row!

Food was great. Pizza delicious and very large. We were lucky enough to be squeezed in at the last minute, before a large party arrived, but our table was right next to the entrance so we were disturbed by people coming in and out and squeezing past our chairs during our 40 minute stay. That altered the atmosphere a bit, so we left quite quickly. Our fault - we should have booked. Will definitely return.

Had the Calzone Mangia Bene and was good. Was surprised when it came to the table as it was huge. Overall good flavors and would eat again. The only thing that I’d change is the bottom was a bit soft (top was awesome) and I’m guessing thats likely from the moisture from the mozzarella. Place was clean service and staff were very nice.

Cute little unsuspecting authentic Italian restaurant on chapel market. I’ve been here twice and will always recommend this restaurant as somewhere that does fantastic seafood linguine! Service is a bit slow at first, they don’t greet you at the door, seat you or take your order straight away but they warm up to you later and if they really like you , even give you a nice treat! 8/10

Didn't book, did a walk-in, the restaurant was packed, they were very accommodating, managed to get us a table. Much appreciated. And the food was amazingly good and very delicious, I've worked only around the corner for many years and walked pass this restaurant many times, yet never managed to fit a dinner there. If I knew was this good, I would've come sooner. But not to worry we'll be back very soon. Thank you for the hospitality.

Delicious Italian food with many veg options. I ordered Melanzane alla Parmigiana for starters, Penne all’Arrabbiata and finish off with a slice of Tiramisu. Would definitely comeback again to try other dishes.

Another one of those instances where I do not understand the reviews. The food was fine, but it wasn't particularly good. Our table had a mix of starters and mains and we didn't/wouldn't have complained about any of it but we also weren't particularly impressed. Not upset we went here (albeit a bit disappointed) but wouldnt recommend or go back in the future. With a 4.7/5 on Google reviews I was expecting something special and maybe that's on me but it certainly didn't deliver that.

It was so loud in there, definitely not a nice place to go meet people. The food was good, but the charged "service charge" on top of the menu price and I just didn't think it was worth it.

I don't know why this restaurant has good reviews. I guess they never had good food. Seafood was chewy, pasta sauce was overcooked and very oily, rice was tasteless. It was one of the awful dining i have ever had in London to be honest.
