After passing the busy Borouh Market and the original site where Shakespeare's Glove was placed, we stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. We were 19 people, hungry, of course, tired of all the walk from St. Pauls cathedral and with no hope of being served in any retaurant at that time of the day because we hadn't made a reservation. But we were wrong in TAS. Excellent food, extreme care and gentleness towards us. Cozy ambience, very comfortable place and, the best, and again, the food was magic. Thanks for existing and see you next time. For sure!!!!!!
I’ve been visiting Tas Restaurant on Borough High Street since 2004, and it has never disappointed me. The food is consistently delicious, with a focus on Turkish cuisine made from fresh ingredients, organic vegetables and truly unique recipes. What impresses me most is that they have maintained this high standard for more than 20 years. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, with live music, an open kitchen that you can see into, and very friendly, attentive staff. It’s a place that feels genuine and cared for, and I always look forward to coming back. I wish the whole team at Tas Restaurant all the very best and many more successful years ahead.
Gorgeous food, lovely Turkey wine and great service at Tas!
We were so impressed with this restaurant. We were in a bit of a rush with an event to get to, so asked if they could bring the food quickly- which they did, and the food was delicious. Great service, well priced. We were in and out in about 30 mins - couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely return. 100% recommended 👌

Whether you're in the mood for traditional kebabs, mezes, or hearty stews, Tas delivers with high-quality ingredients and genuine taste. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are attentive, ensuring a great dining experience. Highly recommended for those craving delicious Turkish food in London.
I recently visited Tas Restaurant in Borough and everything was just as it should be.A charismatic guitarist accompanied our dinner, enhancing the entire experience. I was delighted that he gave me the chance to take a photo. The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was excellent. I particularly recommend the tabbouleh – it was outstanding. I will definitely be coming back!
Having been visiting Tas for almost 10 years I love their Turkish cuisine. Great selection of mezze options to chose from - including some great veggie options. Would also recommend the veggie moussaka.
First time here. Definitely not the last: amazing and extensive choice of quality food. Reasonable prices. Very friendly and efficient service. Happy chefs!! All good!!
The service is always good and the food delicious arrives quickly every time. They sometimes have a musician too (only seen him when I've visited Friday nights) and that is a fun touch. Do not visit without ordering the Kunfafa for dessert :-)
Great atmosphere with great service!!! I ordered the mixed grill which was delicious and the cous cous was tasty. We also were serenaded with live music which added to the ambiance. I will definitely be going back!!
I had a delicious meal at Tas and I’d return whenever I’m in London Bridge. Everything was flavourful and the waitress was attentive and professional.
We had the tas special and it was the best lamb I’ve had in a while. Service was quick And the server was very nice. Definitely a place to recommend. Gave us a free desert as well❤️
Authentic Turkish cuisine, nicely decorated, impeccable service, relaxed atmosphere.
I had a fantastic experience at The dishes were delicious. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the warm atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. A perfect spot for both lunch and dinner — can’t wait to visit again!

Lovely place. Been here for lunch a few times and the food and service is always first class. Highly recommend!
The restaurant has a stylish and comfortable atmosphere. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. The manager, Derya were very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. It was a wonderful experience — highly recommended! 👏
i like the atmosphere and people, especially the food ofc 👌🏻😋 the music was also really nice which was the quite tone jazz music. great experience overall.
We came on a quiet Saturday at the start of lunch service and I’m so glad we need. We had the set menu which was great value and so delicious. The food is super fresh and tasty. Would very much recommend!
Very beautiful restaurant with a nice ambience and very kind waiters which constantly brought us free food like bread, tee or chips. Definitely recommend also would visit this place again
It is always a pleasure to have dinner at Tas Restaurant. Delicious food and very good service! Thank you very much!
Best restaurant . Darya and Oz looked after us very well. Nice food. Quality meat
The service of this restaurant was spotless! Very attentive staff. I am coeliac and I have never felt so included in a restaurant in London. A member of staff went to Tesco to ensure I had gluten free bread. They are very knowledgeable of allergies and dietary restrictions. I would recommend to anyone who requires a specific type of diet. Well done team for the being so careful and accommodating.
Just had a lovely evening at Tas Borough. Excellent service and food and guitarist added some magic to the evening. Would highly recommend.
Food was good and service quick . We were in the basement room and it was really cold . This was the only downside to the evening.
What an wholesome inclusive experience! Derya was a pleasure from start to finish! The food was beautifully cooked, well seasoned and brought out in fantastic time! We felt very at home even with a large group, I've left full and happy with my family all well looked after! Thank you to Tas for a great afternoon and see you again soon!
We went here for a lunch on a Monday, so it was pretty quiet. The food is very good (and plentiful) and service was good. I can't see a reason why it doesn't merit a five star review, and yet I find myself slightly lacking in enthusiasm for the place. I think maybe this is partly because, being a Turkish restaurant, I was expecting a more informal atmosphere; plus close to £40 a head for lunch - maybe a little much.
Had dinner here last night and was really impressed with the quality and flavour of the dishes. The lamb casserole was really tender and delicious with a healthy and tasty amount of vegetables in it that is always hard to find in other restaurants. Live music and great service just made the whole experience really awesome.
Amazing food! We went to Tas restaurant on a rainy day and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! The staff were very polite and helpful. Chicken shish and mezes were all very good.
The service of this restaurant is good and the food was also quite delicious. They are very knowledgeable of allergies and dietary restrictions. The ambience and the music playing in background is amazing. Well done team for making my day, will come back very soon again.
I had a really pleasant experience at this Turkish restaurant. I started with some tzatziki, which was fresh, creamy, and nicely seasoned — a great way to begin the meal. For the main dish, I ordered a kebab, and it was delicious: juicy, well-spiced meat with perfectly balanced flavors and a satisfying portion size. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and authentic. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving tasty Turkish food. I’d happily come back again!
Came in with my girlfriends for a bday celebration, the service waa 5 star! There is music live performance. We were veey impressed with the food, it waa vwey tasty and portions served generous, the birthday girl was treated with a piece of cake and the Happy Bday song, qe also were offered tea on the house. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended! Many thanks Tas team for making our experience memorable.
(10/02/2026 + 27/01/2026) TAS Borough offers a Winter Menu from 12 noon-5pm, with a reasonably priced light-ish two course lunch and a nice choice of dishes for just under £20. For a fuller dining experience, there’s an a la carte menu with what the group’s website describes as “a vast selection of hand prepared hot and cold meze, small plates for sharing.” If you have a sense of adventure and/or like to be surprised, there’s also a wide range of set menus with exotic names to choose from. Many years ago, before I moved out of London, I used to eat regularly in TAS restaurants, on Saturday after the gym. I’d make my way either to the first of its branches in The Cut near Waterloo Station, or to this branch near London Bridge which opened soon after. I dropped in today (and a fortnight ago) as a consolation prize after visits to the dentist! On this occasion, I ordered houmous served with freshly baked pide*, a traditional Turkish flatbread, followed by the chicken casserole. Last time I opted for the red lentil soup (something of a favourite) and chicken shish, treating myself – because I like it so much – to a cheeky side of the rich and creamy houmous as well. In my defence, a website tells me that “houmous is generally very good for you” and that it’s a “healthy alternative to high-fat spreads … though portion control is advised”! (Bah!) Last week’s shish consisted of nicely grilled chicken cubes served with seasonal vegetables. In the old days, I think it came with couscous which I’d prefer. Maybe there’s an option to swap. For drinks, I enjoyed my glass of Turkish red house wine last time, and found today’s ginger beer to be a perfectly refreshing and spicy accompaniment. I forgot to order a glass of tap water as well, but the waiter kindly brought over a jug without being asked. He and his front of house colleague were both very warm and welcoming. Faultless service. The chicken casserole was a little under seasoned for my taste, but I spotted salt and pepper pots on a nearby console and adjusted flavouring at the table. It was a bit like a very hearty soup, a tasty and remarkably generous bowl of slow-cooked chicken, mushrooms, onion, tomato, leek and pepper. It was handy to have some flatbread left to mop up the remaining broth. I had, though, eaten so much of it that there was no room for an optional third course of apple pie with cinnamon and custard (extra £3). TAS restaurants are popular with small and larger groups, and there was quite a buzz of excitement as the venue filled. I like the crockery, and it’s nice to have linin napkins. Easy listening music was playing unobtrusively in the background. An acoustic guitar perched on a small stage in the middle of the restaurant is on standby for the live music which plays every evening after 7pm. Bathroom facilities downstairs are smart and well maintained. All in all, it’s a restaurant to recommend. Good food at a reasonable price. I helped myself to a sticky cube of Turkish delight as I left. I’m not sure my dentist would have approved. * Pronounced: “pee-day”. I see there’s a whole section of pide dishes with different savoury fillings on the main menu. Something to explore!
Nice restaurant with a large menu with Turkish offerings. I decided to order a few appetizers and I enjoyed them all. I particularly liked the Bucver! Many vegetarian and vegan options. I ate alone but noticed several large parties seated; good spot for a large group as well.
Very nice setting and ambience with live guitar music, food tasty . Love the Anatolian food here with delicious tabbouleh. Grilled fish dish very good but lacking carbs. Definitely a cut above the crowd. Moussaka dish was alright but other dishes were tasty.
TAS was an experience that I’ll never forget. It has an open setting where you can look how your food is made. I loved the transparency. The manager was so lovely and gave us a warm welcome. She was thoroughly checking us if we needed anything or not and overall had an amazing positive energy which I really liked. Though dine-in’s are basically a luxury here in London TAS didn’t felt like one. Firstly, they were top notch when it came to cleanliness. I even loved their toilets which was so amazing, they had scented candles and it was super clean. Sometimes a place is very good but the toilet kind of sucks but that was not the case with TAS. I loved the ambience as the moment I entered the place. We took a bit of time to understand the menu and ordered Humus (Houmous) from the starters, Tavuk Sis from the grill section and a Cevizli Domatesli Salata for Salad. My Syrian friend said that the Humus tasted just like how her Aunt used to make it and even I felt like I’ve never had a Humus like this before. It was stupendous. The Tavuk sis which is a grilled chicken was nice too, I had the luxury of having couscous for the first time and it was the best thing I’ve ever tried. The Salad was great too, I am not allergic to nuts so for me it did wonders in my mouth. I almost forgot mentioning about the fluffy complimentary bread that they give. A bit of Humus with the bread is ‘Inanilmaz’. We wanted to try more but had no room left for anything. I will definitely come back for the Baklava and the other items in the menu. Our overall bill was also not that much. It was within 40 pounds for two people. So, I believe that is quite affordable. The only reason I’m taking away one star is because of their chairs. As a person with serious back pain I can’t stand chairs which doesn’t have a good back support. I mean aesthetically it looks good but to support my back it did gave me a lot of uneasiness. Overall, I was genuinely happy as my stomach and heart was filled with joy. I hope they keep their standards high like this. Shoutout to the magicians in the kitchen. I am definitely coming back for more.
From the outside didn’t look that impressive, but when you go inside it’s huge and they have live music, which makes it the perfect place to entertain people and hangout after a long day at the office. The staff were friendly and genuine, which allowed us to relax and feel comfortable. A variety of Turkish dishes on the menu with a lot to choose from if you’re vegetarian, but most of it tasted a bit bland.
Lovely restaurant with good service and the food was good. We ordered a set meze for 2, and we were stuffed... we couldn't finish it! Our table was a little small, which made it a bit over crowded to eat, but we managed. Definitely come back again!
Very good service with friendly staffs. Food was quite authentic. I was expecting the Iskender would be all with sliced lamb but it came with chicken as well. The dessert Kazandibi was authentic and delicious. This is surely a good place to get decent Turkish food.
Heres a great little place to visit just a stone throw between London Bridge and Borough Station, surrounded by other great eateries and various shop, pubs, clubs and banks. You can access it quite easily by public transport, bus, tube or whilst out on your usual walkabout. There is offroad parking nearby but remember it's in the congestion charge area when driving. This is a quaint place for lunch or an afternoon meal with friends, family, groups or solo. The decor is comfy, clean and pleasing, prices are great for very tasty selections of different Turkish delights. Perfect for vegetarians, vegans or anyone whom enjoys a good healthy meal on the go for a pretty neat price without going overboard. The waitress Sema was very friendly, bubbly and fun to be around. Thank you for a great service which was fast, polite and gave me a good feel for the customer care. The food selection was fantastic. I was given so many different options I literally could have tried them all and still walk out having kept within my planned budget. I will definitely be coming back as one of my new found favourites.
The staff was very kind and the food came quick and was delicious. Portions are big definitely worth the price. Overall a good evening with my friends
Definetly good location and nice offer for the 25th anniversary. Food is delicious and quite authentic. They always remember to give NHS discounts which is a nice gesture. Recommended, if you explore the area and fancy a Mediterranean food escape.
Eat here irregular when I meet up here with friends, it's ok, nothing special, service needs a poke to get their attention, even when it's quiet. Though your paying a discretionary service charge (it's not discretionary really), service wasn't all that. Probably go to a different place next time.
Not amazing. Service is good and menu is also good in terms of variety. Ambience is good too however, the food is not as delicious as other Turkish places have. It just lacks that extra bit of taste which usual Turkish grills have. Also on the menu there is no big platter for 4 to 5 people to share which proves to be good value for money; here people will be paying £20 to £22 per person where as at the traditional Turkish grill 5 people will probably £55 in total. But hey it's central London I guess the menu is designed in a way that you pay that premium. Hence, I give it 3 stars.
We got a take away and it was ok. Nothing was amazing but nothing was bad. Not worth the price we paid. The hummus had a weird texture. It felt like toothpaste. Very strange. I liked the boerek.
Staff were very friendy, atmosphere was great with a live performance and restaurant and toilets very clean however the food lacked flavour. I ordered the Vegan mezze for £20...to only get one small falafel and selection of different dishes..also ordered a pineapple juice that wasn't fresh pineapple and more like a squash pineapple flavor.. seemed like a very small portion for £20..
The food wasn't tasty the starter was old, and the mixed grill dish wasn't enough for one person they take a service charge for nothing much they The meat was tough
This is the worst turkish restaurant i've been to. This is also the most expensive turkish restaurant i've been to. Service was slow and useless. Food was a very disappointing representation of a usually fantastic (and simple) cuisine. For the first time ever i've got home from a turkish restaurant feeling hungry. We booked this restaurant out of desperation and i'm desperately wishing i'd gone to sainsburys local instead.
