One of the best meals and service I have had in a while. Pete was our server, and took great care of us. He had excellent food recommendations. We had the spicy hummus and eggplant dip with pita, and it was so good we ordered more to take home! We also had the chicken which was incredible. We had the specialty cheese desert, which was also fun to try. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area!
10 out of 10 recommend! I got the Greek salad with the chicken and my friend got the falafel along with an amazing breakfast plate. I got the mint lemonade freshest I’ve ever had! Good and potent! We Both enjoyed it so much and we ate outside on a beautiful day.
A very nice restaurant with beautiful interiors and décor, paired with delicious Mediterranean dishes and mezzas. Probably the best tasting kunafeh I’ve had in a very long time! highly recommended.
Good food, good vibes. We got the beet labneh (awesome), shakshouka (average), roasted cauliflower (average), and Palestinian chicken on flatbread (awesome).
Let’s start with the amazing name. Ammatouli. Amman is a city of 7 hills, (Amma), and touli in Latin means hills. Very creative name for a very creative restaurant with amazing food. Of course we had to order the hummus and Fattoush salad. Both were amazing. I highly recommend you ask them to give you the dakka for the hummus. We also ordered the meat kibbe too. They have an all star menu with appetizers, salads, main courses, and very creative desserts. My family and I ordered a lot of food so I can comfortably elaborate on the Mousakka, the kebabs, and the Chilean Sea Bass. The Chilean Sea Bass was definitely the clear winner. Probably the best I have ever had by far. Ever! So light and the rice that comes with it was delicious. The kebabs were all good. The Ribeye, lamb, kufta, and chicken. All good. Lastly the Mousakka was amazing too! Definitely worth getting a Levantine original version. We almost ordered the Palestinian Mosakkhan too. That looked really good. Last but not least is their excellent dessert menu. We tried Tata’s carrot cake. (Tata means grandmother). It was awesome. I came close to ordering “Date with a cake”. That is a very popular one. All in all I highly recommend this amazing restaurant!
We had a reservation for around 12 people and the service was good! We ordered a bunch of food but my favorite dish was definitely the ribeye and shrimp kabobs. Everything else was pretty standard tasting. Their sea bass didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting. Out of all the desserts, I liked the knafeh the most it was seriously like crack I still think about it. They forgot to take a few things off the check that never arrived/were cancelled but they were nice about fixing it when we asked. I'd just make sure to double check your check. They also didn't allow our boba inside which is pretty standard but keep that in mind as well.
My husband and I have been all over world and this is still one of the top restaurants we think of when we think of the best food! We also feel so welcomed! Pete provided incredible service and recommendations with the spicy garlic lemon chicken! We will be back when we are in town! Chef Dima is giving us a taste of what food will be like in heaven! This place is SPECIAL!
I have been impressed by the food and beverage quality every time I go to Ammatoli on East 3rd Street. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Long Beach, and everyone I have gone with loves it. I recommend making a reservation in advance on OpenTable as they do get quite busy, but ensure your full party can commit as they do charge per person for any last-minute cancellations. For parking, I recommend the structures just up the street. A must-order is the mint lemonade ($6). It is the best balance of flavors, it isn't too sweet, and they use fresh mint. Although it doesn't come with free refills, we usually buy an extra lemonade to-go as well. Our server Cameron G was very thorough with checking back with the kitchen on items regarding food allergies, and he always made sure we had enough hot water and regular water. It's a great place for groups if you make a reservation in advance because they have something everyone will love, and a lot of the dishes are meant for sharing. I love both the lamb kebab mashawi ($28) and the ammatoli chicken shawarma ($26). It doesn't automatically come with rice, but you can add a side of Vermicelli Rice for the table for $80. I hope you enjoy it as much as I always do - I truly love this restaurant!
First time here and everything was so good! We ordered the Fatet Jaj and it was absolutely delicious and comforting. We also tried the Three Ways Mazaa with spicy hummus, mutabel (eggplant), falafel, and pita bread — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The manqoushe flatbread with cheese and za’atar was a standout. The ambience and décor were beautiful, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family and will absolutely come back again with my family. Highly recommend
Truly incredible. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The food was so amazing. The service was great. Mary was so awesome and gave us perfect recommendations. The ice cream dessert was maybe my favorite dessert of all time. I will make a point to come to this restaurant any time I am in the area!
KC was our server and she enhanced our first time at the restaurant. The hostess did her job and checked us in. It was my first time at this restaurant and my business lunch turned out amazing because of KC, the delicious food and how beautifully it's served. Loved the restaurant vibe and look. Highly recommend and can't wait to go again!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Free 2 hour parking at the parking structure nearby. We really enjoyed our dinner with Cameron, who had wonderful recommendations for our lovely meal Food/Drink- 5 stars We split the family mashawi feast between the 4 of us and it was more than enough food. Skewers- we tried all the meats (chicken, kofta, ribeye steak, top sirloin lamb and shrimp). Everything was very flavorful and juicy. It's hard to decide which was my favorite because they were all so good, but the shrimp really stood out because of how sweet and delightful it was. Fattoush salad- pretty good Hummus, mutabbal, batata harra were pretty good, but I would say the roasted beets hummus was my favorite of all the mezzas Osmalieh Ice cream- this dessert was fantastic. I perfect blend of creamy and sweet goodness, without being too creamy or sweet. I would definitely order it again A Date with cake- very good and decadent. It was a good mix with the Osmalieh, but I would say the Osmalieh ice cream was my favorite Service- 5 stars Cameron was our server and he was excellent with guiding us through the menu and his recommendations were excellent Bottom Line Very delicious meal that has me wanting to come back for more.
This place is so cute, and the food was really delicious. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful when ordering (I forgot his name, but he was tall with curly hair and a nose ring - thank you to him!). We got three appetizers, pita, and two skewers plus a dessert and it was just barely too much food for the two of us. We would definitely come back here!
really aesthetic restaurant - lights, decor, wall color, and staff are impeccable and cohesive. food is amazing - had the palestinian msakhan. super filling and definitely get some pita to share with it. flavors got a bit stale after eating it but i think that speaks more to the volume of food. my friend said the falafel was delicious!
First off, Ammatoli was recommended to me by a friend and let me tell you absolutely nothing disappointed me. Our server, Mason was patient and pointed us to his favorites which are now MY favorites! (I can take home jugs of the Mint Lemonade) The atmosphere was so relaxing and yes you can take pictures of literally everything because the owners seriously created this place and menu with intention. You are guaranteed a delicious/high quality meal. If you get a chance, I say make a reservation because they do get booked and please ask for Mason he truly is the best!
A feast of Levantine flavors, served with elegance and warmth right in downtown Long Beach.🥙🍷The subtle white tones paired with creamy accents and chic boho décor create a warm, inviting, and stylish atmosphere. The setting perfectly reflects the restaurant’s philosophy: celebrating the Levant’s rich culinary heritage with a modern, elevated touch. We began with a selection of mezze, each plate as vibrant as the next. The hummus topped with shawarma and pine nuts was creamy and satisfying, while the roasted beet hummus with pistachios and extra virgin olive oil was a colorful standout: earthy, nutty, and, balanced (my personal favorite) 🥙. Each dip was perfectly paired with freshly baked housemade pita bread, pillowy and that I just wish they could have warmed it a little bit more, that even though after asking for it, they were not able to accomplish this. Other highlights included the fried cauliflower 🥦, drizzled with a bright herbaceous dressing of chives, parsley, and olive oil, and the Mediterranean-style fries 🍟, elevated with garlic, feta, parmesan, and fresh herbs, a comfort dish with a gourmet twist. Yet, the most refreshing surprise was the watermelon with feta and walnuts 🍉🧀🌰. Its sweet-salty combination was light, crisp, and memorable, a dish that lingers in your mind for its originality. For the mains, Ammatoli’s skewer selection 🍢 truly captured the essence of Mediterranean grilling. From juicy chicken and tender kafta to ribeye, lamb, salmon, and shrimp, each protein was seasoned with restraint, allowing the natural flavors to shine while still carrying the aromatic signature of Levantine spices. And then came dessert 🍮 that create a chapter of its own. Ammatoli offers a thoughtful lineup that blends traditional Middle Eastern ingredients with a delicate touch. From the fragrant Palestinian Ka’ak cookies 🍪 and nutty baklawa dripping with orange blossom syrup, to the moist and citrusy lemon olive oil cake 🍋, every bite felt like a sweet homenage ❤️ to the region. The absolute star, however, was the Osmalieh Ice Cream 🍨 , layers of pastry dough, creamy milk pudding, dates, pistachios, and a touch of ghazel banat (cotton candy), basically like a banana bread cake but with a complete twist, a mediterranean adaptation of this banana bread recipe, option to pair it with Long Beach vanilla bean ice cream. It was decadent, unique, and unforgettable. The experience was elevated by our wonderful server, Maria 🙌, whose knowledge and thoughtful recommendations ensured we sampled the very best dishes. To round it all out, we sipped on a glass of Château Heritage “Foothills” Red Blend 🍷 from Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, a robust, well-structured wine that paired beautifully with the bold Mediterranean flavors (a full bottle would have been well worth it!). If Ammatoli name comes from the mix of Amman, Jordan’s capital, and “toli” meaning hills, this spot is on the top of the hill for sure. Ammatoli is not just a restaurant; it’s a cultural journey 🌍. Between the warm hospitality, refined yet authentic cuisine, and enchanting atmosphere, this spot is without a doubt a must-visit in Long Beach. Whether you’re a lover of Mediterranean food or simply seeking a dining experience that feels both soulful and sophisticated, Ammatoli delivers on every level. 🌿✨
Delicious food and amazed by the hospitality and service. Turkish food here was delightful which put us in a blissful food coma! Ordered Spicy hummus, fried cauliflower, Batata Hara (potato), Falafel, Meat Manoushe, Ammatoli Mixed Mashawi and Knafeh Dessert was absolute fabulous and were the Mashawi and Manoushe!!
A friend recommended meeting here for dinner, and Ammatoli did not disappoint. Its Levantine cuisine was delicious - try the spicy hummus, which is only super spicy if you opt to dab the middle where the jalapeño is located. Grab a glass of prosecco, and enjoy the sun and downtown vibes out on the patio, where you can people watch the riders whiz through the bike lane. Dane was our server, and he was outstanding - very professional and great recommendations. Highly recommend reservations - it was packed Friday night and only bar or patio seating available. Parking lot a block away - first two hours free.

Really loved the service and atmosphere here, very cozy middle eastern vibe and loved their little market of goods you could buy like olive oil and different spreads. I wasn’t completely wowed by the food to be honest - we got the hummus and fresh pita, Mediterranean fries, and spicy garlic lemon rotisserie chicken. It was good but not the absolute best middle eastern food I’ve had. I definitely want to go back and try more things bc people rave about this place! Was a little disappointed that we had to order the pita bread separately from the hummus, I’d expect that some sort of cracker or pita bread comes with the hummus order. The rice that came with the chicken was my favorite part! Tasted very authentic!

I had dinner for a friend's birthday. We ordered the three way mezza (grape leaves, spicy hummus, falafel), chicken schwarma, Palestinian msakham, pita, spinach fatayer and cheese fatayer. The three appepetizers were pretty good. Grape leaves full of flavor. Spicy hummus had a touch of heat, not too much and the falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The two pastries we had (fatayer) - the cheese was delicious. It was a nice savory, decadent pastry. Almost like a dense cake. The spinach was had a crispy flaky outer layer and I don't think there was too much filling, which was slightly disappointing. The two main dishes we shared, one was pretty good and the other, just okay. The schwarma was nothing to write home about. It felt like it lacked a little flavor but it could be that the appetizers were highly flavorful, this one fell flat for me. The Palestinian msakham was a recommendation from our server. The chicken was served on top of two flat breads smothered in onions and spices. The chicken itself was pretty good, juicy and flavorful. Pairing it with the flatbread it came with along with the yogurt dip and garlic sauce, was almost delicious. We also had dessert, Osmelieh ice cream. The is cream was tasty and paired with a flakey crust. It had some bits of dates in it which gave it some additional texture. Overall, the food was good. The service was okay. I felt I was personally ignored when she took everyone's drink order and didn't ask me for mine. She brought back everyone's drink and it wasn't only until I said something was when she took. My drink order. It was a bit odd but maybe she was distracted. One of my friends orders the yogurt drink, and given how everything was thoughtfully presented, this drink came out in it's original package. Which is fine, just a little odd since everything else was more less presented nicely. Why 3 stars them? We were reminded of the 90 min dining time what felt like 50x. We were sent several reminders about this before dining in. We were reminded upon checking in. We were reminded drying our meal. And then reminded when we paid our tab. Mind you, we were there within the 90 min time frame. I felt like all those reminders were overkill and kind of ruined the celebration. I get it. They want to get customers in and out so get in more customers. But for a celebration, maybe take it down a notch or two on the reminders.
