This my second time at J & M, first time I came and had the jalapeño sausage sandwich plate. it cams with two sides, I chose fries and beans. This time I got the German sausage sandwich plate with the same sides. Food was cooked consistently flawless and easy on the eyes. The atmosphere is that of a movie scene or a music video. Imma keep coming bk and turning my friends and family on to this little spot hidden between Indiana and Quaker on 34th street. Staff is friendly, affordable menu, no complaints. Good tasty food. It's a bit on the pricey side for the food, but BBQ is always on the more expensive side. I asked if their regular sausage was spicy. I was told no. It was. That was a shame because spicy food is not my favorite, and I would have chosen something else. Pretty decent meal overall. Don't order either type of sausage if you don't like spicy food. Skip the cobbler as well. It wasn't good at all. My total bill was $28 (rounded up).

I’d like to start by saying I’m not from Lubbock so trying to find a bbq place on a Monday was almost impossible for some reason lol. But thankfully we were able to find this place! Their food is super yummy and pretty reasonable as well. I personally loved the pork ribs and the brisket the most. Staff is super sweet and are always there to serve. The environment is super friendly as well and the food came very fast which was nice as there wasn’t a long wait at all. Overall great place!

Fantastic! So good! Idk how I haven't been in this location before, but it is amazing! I got Pork Ribs (thicc boys lol), Jalapeno Sausage, baked beans, corn & "spicy" sauce. That sauce!? I need more of that in my life! Service was outstanding also!! Btw the ribs are covering the Jalapeno Sausage!

Amazing! Amazing BBQ! Found the restaurant on Hooked app and decided to went here with a friend for lunch and we both enjoyed the meal! The waitress is super friendly and nice. The service was really quick! I got a sliced brisket sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. Even though I don’t really care for the mac and cheese, the sandwich got me stunned! The buns is perfectly toasted, juicy brisket with a dip of their BBQ sauce is phenomenal! I was surprised that the restaurant was not packed with people!!! Definitely will recommend this place to everyone and I will definitely come back more frequently!

Visiting from central TX I was looking for a good example of Lubbock que. J&M was definitely a hit for me. The brisket was cooked just right and just the right amount of fat. The sauce was good but not needed, I just wish it was a little spicier, the "spicy" option did not do much for my hill country pallette. Worth a trip if you're visiting!

Picked up so we didn't get much atmosphere. We spent $40 and barely fed 2 of us(there's 3 of us). We asked for condiments and got none. There was just not enough information being given to employee to properly place order. Albeit, she was very polite and courteous

First time eating here. I’m a big brisket fan. Sadly that was the part of the meal that let me down. I ordered the two meat dinner; brisket and turkey. The turkey was excellent, tender and moist not overcooked o would give it a 4.75 out of 5. Now on the brisket, it was way way over cooked, it was basically tasteless and crumbled luke chopped beef. The Macaroni & Cheese was very good and cheesy. The mashed potatoes were average, needed salt. Grandson had two meat platter. His roast beef same way way overcooked. His sausage was very good 4.5 out if 5. He had Mac n cheese also with okra and it was excellent 5 out if 5. I was so disappointed in the brisket. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I did have someone tell me before coming here that their brisket was way overcooked also.

The presentation of the 2-meat Dinner was underwhelming, but the food tasted okay, I guess. The baked beans, however, looked and tasted like unflavored mush. We threw them in the garbage after just a few bites. The cherry cobbler had a weird texture. Like, the breading was gritty, similar to cornbread. Very strange. Overall, we will not be ordering from here again.

We had a late night craving for BBQ. We decided to eat here as the reviews were good. We got there and the staff was a mess. I don't know what happened before we got there, but the staff were all arguing with each other. The staff was disheleveld. We got our food quick and they forgot my okra. I got it about five minutes later. No worries there. The food was good. Was it the best BBQ I've ever had. Nope. Was it edible? Yes! Would I come back? Not really. I'll try other places next time.

I ordered for Uber Eats delivery and it was a disappointment. Might be okay for dinner in, but sides on the 2 meat plate were skimpy They ran out before the meat leaving meat all by itself. Extra side of slaw was a mini cup . As for taste the brisket was just okay The jalapeño sausage was good wasn’t a lot of meat in the beans & meat bowl For 2 entrees portion size was the issue for the price.
