Great Mexican style restaurant. The service was very nice and attentive. Prices weren't bad at all. My group ordered the spicey senorita margs, the chimichaga, super burrito Jr, and the 2 enchiladas and taco combo. Everything was delicious. Would eat here again when I come back to visit.
When we lived in Belmont Shore over 30 years ago, we watched this place get built and we ate there in the first week it was open. We visited yesterday on our anniversary and the food and service was just as amazing as it was when it opened. The food is always awesome and authentic, the chips and salsa were amazing (as always) and a special shout-out to Adriana, who took care of us. We mentioned that it was our anniversary and they gifted, blessed and surprised us with the most delicious bañuelo. Kudos to this place for staying around even during the pandemia.
Always good. My favorite is the super mex chili verde burrito. Very tasty, tender meat. Been ordering for over 30 years. As a kid, my family have been going to different locations. The LB location has never let me down. Carne asada tacos are good. Hard shell tacos tasty. Love their beans. And salsa is also delicious.
Overpriced. Used to be reasonable. Ex. $2.00 extra for sour cream & guacamole on top of a burrito that was already $16 dry. $18+ for a chicken burrito. Rip-off.
Stopped by on a sleepy, rainy Sunday for my first visit. I’m glad I did! To begin, how do you grade a Mexican food restaurant? For me it’s the salsa. Super Mex makes theirs fresh daily and it tastes like it. It was fresh and flavorful. It’s just spicy enough to leave a pleasant warmth in your mouth. I ordered a skinny margarita with Tajin and the 2 item combo. Instead of getting fish or shrimp, I opted for a vegetarian meal. My combo included a crunchy potato taco and a cheese enchilada that was loaded with cheese and covered in red sauce. Everything on my plate was great. Service was fast and friendly. I’ll come back for the menu options and the service. And the salsa! The margarita was so-so, a little watery, but it will not keep me from coming back. Parking is available behind the restaurant, and they validate.
SUPER MEX is AWESOME The nostalgia factor alone; I have been coming here since I was in Middle school and although the place might have changed a bit the food has stayed exactly the same. And you have to applaud them for being consistent. The service is excellent and now I can DRINK with my meal. What is there not to love!? Pro Tip: Go wild and get a COMBINATION platter. You will not be disappointed.
Very Americanized Mexican food but are waiter was really nice and attentive
Supermex used to be a cozy spot to hang out after a day at the beach. It had a very beachy vibe, and good food and drinks. Now the food is hit or miss. I got the veggies burrito, and the bell peppers were raw. The burrito was bland with very little flavor. The prices have gotten ridiculous. 3 tacos, rice and beans is $20. Yikes. I am about priced out of a restaurant that doesn't even have a good atmosphere anymore. I won't be going back.
This was our last time to go here, we have been going for over 30 years. No more. Not the same place it used to be. The Salsa was different. The portions are smaller, the recipes seem different. Even the side order of flour tortillas was terrible, they used to be this great huge flour tortilla, this time it was 3 small ones with a yellow tint to them. Someone thought it was a good idea to seat up a DJ on the sidewalk seating, not a good idea. Also, there where 2 mangers that never acknowledged customers, they just talked to each other. Service went down hill years ago after they went corporate. So long Super Mex.
I live in the Shore and have been coming here for years. I will no longer be going. Food quality has gone down hill + portion sizes have shrunk and they are understaffed so waiting for someone to check on you has become unreasonable. Taco Shore up the street is a lot better!
This is a beautiful restaurant, great service and very inviting. Cool place to hangout. I got my food to go. And when you take your food home, you get to truly experience a restaurant. Ultimately I came to the conclusion that the food here is lazy, stale and just plain bad. I ordered a wet burrito, a bean and cheese burrito and a side of guacamole. You can tell a lot about a place by how many shortcuts they take. For example, their guacamole had about 10% avocado, and 90% onion, tomato and cilantro. This was one of the worst, chunky watered down versions of guacamole I’ve ever had. Another shortcut they took was with their cheese, it was like Taco Bell cheese, it didn’t melt, it just got all soggy. It’s wild to be a Mexican restaurant and get outshined by chipotle, chipotle uses quality cheese and they guacamole is on point! I’d stay away from here, unless you plan on getting extremely drunk, cause then you may not be bothered by the subpar food they serve here. Oh and also, the wet burrito had no flavor, all I tasted was the salt. 🤢😷
Always consistent, always delicious. Fast and friendly service, they all work as a well oiled machine a great team! Reevaluated experience since Covid-19 Overpriced, inconsistent quality and management does not care if you have a bad experience. I've eaten here for decades and I now have no desire to return. I work to hard for my money too give it to a restaurant that doesn't appreciate my business or their quality of food they serve and whether or not the customer is happy with their food. Very sad....
