If you've walked by this place and never stopped, next time do. The fish is so fresh it's even good the next day!
Sushi 100% FRESH and tasty!!! Galbi ribs flavorful and cooked to perfection. Staff is super nice :)
Best Sushi in the City of Long Beach CA ⛱️
The best restaurant, the food is amazing 🙏!! Thank you so much, I will be back soon!!
The sushi 🍣 is delicious. The best I've had in Long Beach. And the service is equally great. 👌
We decided to stop in for lunch and had a great experience. It's so cute inside and the food was delicious! Highly recommend
Super friendly workers had amazing time resonable price. Will definitely be back
10/10 . Spicy rainbow roll is bomb. Whole meal was outstanding!
Great service and wonderful sushi selection
All around a wonderful dining experience. The staff at this restaurant is next level and so is the food.
Amazing food, super friendly server Overall a great experience
Food, service and atmosphere were all great! 10/10 I would recommend!
Great Japanese food. Quiet atmosphere.
Great place with great food. Must try.
Best tempura and Sushi in Long Beach, hands down!
Presentation was 🔥 and flavor matched it perfectly.
Good food, nice atmosphere and service
Love their Salmon Roll..absolutely exquisite!
Staff were so friendly and food was fantastic!
Excellent food, friendly staffs, awesome vibe.
Clean, tasty, and good service.
We’ve visited this spot several times and everything we’ve tried has been fresh. Our favorite is the yuzu albacore tataki roll - it’s spicy and delicious. Good nigiri selection too!
My parents love the hamburger patty here. For Father’s Day they gave us a free hamachi collar which I thought was very nice. We also like the chicken katsu and bulgogi and tempura udon. Very well balanced broth. The bulgogi udon broth has a nice char savory taste. Give this new place a try!
Amazing food, seriously some of the best Japanese food in the area. the bulgogi udon was perfectly soft and tender, and the tempura was light and crispy. Absolutely will be back to try the rest of the menu.
This is one of my new favorite spots in Long Beach. I love that they are open late. Service is impeccable. The Toro is excellent every time. Best Katsu in Long Beach hands down.
We went there last night and were very pleased. I basically have no idea what I'm ordering at these places but I like the food. The server and the manager were very helpful in ordering and the meal was very good. Had a glass of wine, too. We will be back.
Always the kindest thoughtful service and excellent food that is always artfully and beautifully presented! This is what all small neighborhood dining should be!
The best spicy tuna roll i’ve had, hands down. And the bibimbap was so succulent. Can’t wait to return. Our servers were wonderful and very helpful too.
Top tier katsu. Soft and juicy chicken encased in a light, flaky, crispy crust that stays put. Perfection. Can’t wait to go back and try the pork katsu. Friendly place with a nice patio area.
Top notch food, you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Very friendly and kind staffs. Great atmosphere, every inch of real estate is kept spotless and clean. Highly recommeded!
Such a cute place! We came here for lunch and they were so quick and everything was so good ! Will definitely be back!
I love coming here weekly and enjoying the fresh and high-quality fish and the friendly customer service. The price for what you get is pretty reasonable, too
We went to Te-buru for the first time. We ordered the chicken katsu, spicy rainbow roll, seaweed salad, and Sapporo’s. Everything was fresh and delicious! The rainbow roll was actually pretty spicy in a good way. The chicken katsu was amazing. Easily in the top 3 best chicken katsu’s we’ve ever had. The beers were served in large chilled glasses and were really refreshing! The restaurant was pretty busy, but service was still really quick. The waiter even let us know the wait might be a bit longer than normal to get our food, but everything came out so quickly! She was very friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. We will definitely come back!
Wandered in by mistake and now it’s my wife’s favorite place. Everything is Yum.
Teburu gormets are so delicious. This Japanes restaurant makes all sources by itself. Shushi and rolls are very fresh and yummy. There are various species of rolls. Atmosphere is very comfortable. Natural and humble. Teburu is my favorite restaurant in long beach.
Always super delicious and prepared so well. Sushi is fresh and well priced, garnished with yummy details and staff is always so kind and chefs know what they’re doing. My go to sushi spot for consistently good quality sushi! Hamachi, all nigiri, udon, tempura, and rolls are all so yummy!
The sushi here is delicious!! So so happy we have this place as an option in our neighborhood. My husband and I love the bluefin tuna carpaccio, the mango tango roll, and yellowtail cilantro roll. The kids love the chicken katsu.
Te-buru is the best traditional Japanese restaurant in Long Beach. It's my favorite go-to after Kinokawa closed. I've tried most all menu items and it's always scrumptious! Service is excellent with several Japanese beers on tap too.
First time ordering from this place, the order was simple two miso soups and two orders of California rolls. We enjoy the food it was delicious, the restaurant had a warm relax vibe. Recommend ordering and dining in.
Our favorite place to go when we want sushi!!!
I don’t leave many reviews but this place deserves one. The baked lobster roll was to die for and it was the comfort food I needed. I tried their tempura vanilla ice cream, delicious! The restaurant is a beautiful atmosphere. I ate with a friend from 9pm to 10:30pm on a Monday. We had decided to go to the sushi/ramen place across the street but it was packed and it felt claustrophobic with no parking. This is a perfect intimate place for a couple’s date. Or even a self-date. The waiter was attentive and professional. I was served complimentary miso soup while I waited for my friend. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt appreciated as a customer. Don’t miss out on this place. It’s a gem hidden in plain sight. Oh and their mint/lemon water was so crisp I didn’t realize I had drank so much of it without feeling full. I’m a picky eater but this place was amazing.
Love this place, the food, the service, and the atmosphere was great! We had the Crunch Roll and Salmon Lover, both were great! This was our first time here, but we will be coming here again.
We came for dinner in the outdoor area, with a baby and a puppy. We were greeted by the sweetest staff, bringing water for the pup and high chair for the baby. Service was wonderful and the food was even better. We tried a variety of dishes to share amongst the table. Everything was polished off and left wanting more. The sushimi was fresh, the carpaccio well dressed. The Chicken Katsu was larger than expected and equally delightful. We tried assorted rolls, nigiri and the edamame. Happily impressed and would highly recommend everyone to try this place.
So amazing to have such wonderful service - the nicest, most welcoming place. I love the complementary soup and the lemon water. Plus, the food is AMAZING - great Japanese menu with katsu options and really fresh sushi. Beautiful presentations, impeccably clean space, sunny and comfortable atmosphere!
Greeted with a free soup- great food- great sushi. Clean and decent priced
Really great food quality at this place. Been twice times now over the course of 3 months, so we are definitely enjoying ourselves. The fish is fresh, which is the number one thing for me. I really appreciate portions of their hand rolls and maki rolls. If you’re a rolls-person, like the rest of my family, they have really creative recipes. Definitely try out the yummy roll. I also do like the Japanese craft beer selections. Something new to try with our sushi. This place will now be our go-to sushi place.
Not sure why it took me so long to try this place out. After today's lunch I think it's safe today this will be our go to place if we wanted sushi or katsu for lunch! Fantastic cuts of fish, chicken katsu fried perfectly! A cold beer and fantastic company will do again!
Excellent sushi. My group of four ordered several sushi rolls and we enjoyed them all. The only negative feedback I have is that they have just one vegetarian roll (unlike at I Luv Sushi) and no vegetarian appetizers (no spicy garlic edamame, for example), and so my wife, who is vegetarian is unlikely to want to come back to this restaurant. However, the rest of the group loved the food.
Did takeout for the first time. Ordered by telephone. Sashimi 12 pieces, Chicken Katsu and Spicy tuna roll. All three dishes were excellent! Sushi was fresh. Chicken Katsu was delicious and Spicy tuna roll was very interesting and tasty. Presentation and packaging for takeout was the best I have ever seen. Highly this restaurant!
This place was a random gem i stumbled upon! Started out with some tasty mint lemon water and complimentary miso soup. I got the 10 piece Nigiri, matcha tempura, and spicy tuna hand roll. The fish nigiri was soft and buttery. Definitely fresh and high quality. They have a good variety of fish on the menu. The hand roll was generous with the amount of fish they gave. The plates had cute decorative garnishes like carrot flowers and a fancy cut lemon slice. The matcha tempura was also quite big and crispy to the outside. Our waiter Min Woo was so friendly and some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. The sushi chefs greeted me when I entered as well. Felt very cozy. Overall very worth the price and experience. Nothing bad to say about this place!
This place has the best Baked Salmon and Baked Scallop rolls in town. You know a good place when they can make such a difficult dish taste so good. I keep wanting to come back for more. I gave 4 stars in food for the takeout. Somethings are always best dining in. Probably should give it a try once more in case it was an off day.
Delicious! We are so lucky to have them in Bixby Knolls. Had the vegetable tempura, miso soup, baked salmon roll & our favorite is the yellowtail cilantro roll (has a spicy chili slice on top. Yum! Service is efficient and friendly. Miso soup complimentary. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Loveeee this place the atmosphere, they give you a complimentary miso soup and the food was really seriously good! They have an attention to detail and you can tell everything is fresh. I never leave reviews but felt compelled to bc I enjoyed it that much! Only downside is I think they could use maybe another server because they seemed a little overwhelmed but still was great service
My in-laws live in the area so when we visit this is one of our new favorites to keep in the rotation for family dinner and birthdays. All the food we get is delicious and you can get a mix of raw and cooked dishes that can satisfy a variety of tastes in a family gathering. My MIL and FIL love the tempura and galbi, my daughters love the udon and salmon, and my wife and I get to enjoy creative delicious rolls with high quality fish. The thing that sets this place apart is for the same dollar as some comparable sushi restaurants in the area the quality of fish is in my opinion significantly better. Give the place a shot! You won't be disappointed.
Okay wow yum! I wish I had taken pictures of everything we had because it was all beautiful and delicious! My favorite roll we tried was the Onion Escolar- 10/10! We also had the Hawaiian roll, the Yuzu Albacore Tataki roll, and the Yellowtail cilantro roll. All 10/10. We know this area has high turnover but we really hope this place lasts! Best sushi in the area for sure! They are open late too so that’s a big plus!
The sushi is delicious and fresh. Service is great, prices are reasonable, and atmosphere is pretty awesome with the garage opened up. I recommend the unagi hand roll. It’s absolutely delicious and is one of the cheaper items on the menu. A nice warm bowl of miso soup comes free with every order (and is also delicious). Sapporo comes out ice cold of course. I highly recommend!
Finally tried this spot out last night, and it did not disappoint. Walked in and was surprised to see it almost empty. Entrance was a bit awkward as it was a tight squeeze between trying to get in as someone was paying for their to-go order. It was awkward because even though the staff saw us standing there, I felt like we weren't acknowledged until the lady walked out. No biggie. Small oversight. We were sat at a table and our server, same guy at the door who was handling the transaction, immediately brought us a water pitcher and two complimentary miso soups. I really appreciated that touch because not many places do that anymore, and it was perfect for the chilly evening. We asked for water cups, but he probably forgot. It wasn't very busy in there, but it looked like it was only him taking orders and serving. So my cousin took it upon himself to get them from another table. No biggie. The water was refreshing. The pitcher came infused with lemon and mint. A nice little touch. Onto the rolls, we split 3 rolls between the two of us: the Tuna Lover, The Crazy Roll and the Hawaiian. The tuna lover and crazy roll both come with spicy tuna inside, which I normally shy away from because I'm a baby. But our server said it was 5/10 spicy, so I figured I'd try them. They weren't too bad, but next time I'll stick to only one roll with spicy tuna. HAWAIIAN ROLL This was my and my cousin's favorite of the three. It comes with tempura asparagus & avocado inside and topped with tuna poke and avo. It was very fresh and the flavors melded together nicely. There was a chunk of tuna for every piece and plenty of avocado. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and did not overpower in flavor. TUNA LOVER This was our second favorite. It was a flavor bomb! From the spicy tuna inside, the smokiness of the seared tuna and sesame oil. We really enjoyed this one a lot, but the spicy tuna does pack a bit of heat... in a good way. CRAZY ROLL Ironically, we weren't crazy about this one. We were trying to decide between a regular crunch roll and this one (deep fried). We were recommended this one, and personally, not my cup of tea. It smelled and even tasted almost sweet. Not sure what they use to deep fry it, but my cousin said it almost reminded him of the taste of churros, so then I couldn't get that out of my mind haha. After 2-3 pieces I called it quits on that roll. I'll have to come back and try more of their fresh options, like their assorted sashimi or nigiri. Also gotta try their katsu; I hear it's some of the best outside of Japan. It's a very cute vibe. Flowers on the table. Nice place for a date. The indie playlist they had playing was nice. Could be a tad bit louder... my Shazam couldn't quite pick up all the songs. Other than that, only thing left to note is that their restroom is out back, but it is nicely stocked and clean.
I have been meaning to try Te-buru and glad I finally did! This area of Bixby Knolls is turning into its own mini Little Tokyo with Ramen Hub and Somi Somi all on the same intersection. Te-buru has great craft Japanese beer on tap, and the server brought me a taster of all the COEDO brews before ordering, which was a nice gesture. Sashimi was super fresh and well portioned, and I tried the Hambugu which was very tasty and a meal in itself. A lively and laid back atmosphere that invites you to linger, big screen sports in the background but not distracting if that's not your thing, and open late.
This is hands-down the best Japanese restaurant in the Bixby Knolls area and in my opinion the best in Long Beach. The menu covers everything you'll want, but stays specialized. Their sushi is S tier, the rolls are artistic and thoughtfully flavored, sashimi is always high quality. Pork Katsu has been perfect each time I've tried it. I want to try the Tokyo Hambagu next time, from the pictures I've seen it's an experience. If you're here for sushi, consider the Wow roll and the Yuzu Albacore Tataki (see pictures attached.)
Seriously the best sushi I've ever tasted! I love that they play jazz, have cozy ambience, and even project a movie sometimes on the wall
UPDATE: I've been here a few times before for their katsu and sashimi, but today I had their roll (wow and yuzu albacore tataki) and wow... I am without words. This place has officially become my favorite sushi spot now. Go hurry! Why are you still reading this? Run! Great service and food. We especially loved the weekend lunch specials and the katsu!
My first time here...wow...just wow. Great staff, modern classic decor and atmosphere. Most importantly the food is outstanding. Definitely a cut above the "typical" LB sushi spot. Wife and I had mixed tempura (light crisp amd hot) two sushi rolls (wonderful mixed of flavors with beautiful presentation) the soft shelled crab appetizer (delicious, much larger than expected) and a beer. Atlantic Ave has many dining options, Te-buru is worth a trip for dinner. Do yourself a favor and have a dinner you'll remember. Do the community a favor and support local establishments doing great cooking.
Might be our new go to spot in the area for sushi. Large portions, great service. Started with some complementary miso soup. Had the sashimi, two rolls, and mochi ice cream to finish. Highly recommend!
Shrimp tempura was so delicious, fish was super fresh, nigiri was amazing!
There was a wait, but it was worth it! The food was delicious! The sushi nachos -- a must! I'll definitely return soon!
Love this place. Very clean and the food has always been great. I think at some point it's going to be hard to get a table here, until then we will keep coming back and enjoying the food and atmosphere.
We ordered sushi, katsu, and all the trimmings. The Tokyo Hambago was amazing and I'll be getting it again! The sauce was rich and full of flavor. If you are not sure what to get or want something super savory you should go for it. They have a parking lot in the back which is really great because street parking is difficult in that area. We enjoyed eating outside and the service was great.
Everything was amazing! Loved the hot Vegas roll tuna nacho appetizer, rainbow roll and thick pieces of tuna sashimi. This was the best, I’m definitely coming back for more and amazing service.
My new favorite sushi spot. I am impressed at the cuts and quality of sashimi. The sashimi is delicious and fresh. The service is on point and the cooked food is next level. This restaurant prides in quality and provides a great experience. If you’re in the area or just looking for a good sushi restaurant that will meet your expectations, I highly recommend this restaurant. 100%

Amazing sushi. Great service and vibes! Favs are the lemon pepper salmon and Galbi!!!

Such a great place in the neighborhood! We went on a whim and our expectations were exceeded. We were seated fast, brought mint water and soup before ordering. Food came out fast and everything was delicious. This place is a well run machine. So glad to find a new sushi place a little closer to home!
This is one of my go-to favorites for dinner in Long Beach. I hasate to leave a review only because I might not be able to get in without a wait after people find out about this place but once you try this place if you're anything like me you'll keep going back for more. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is great with good music it's a small place but worth checking out if you're in the area.
Superb service and delicious, well prepared food! We were seated right away at a booth. We shared the yellowtail collar and the Hambugu Tokyo which was AMAZING. It had two enormous patties sitting on a yummy brown sauce with mushrooms and onions and fresh parsley, it had a side salad and a bowl of rice and a Sunnyside egg on top of the patties! I have never had anything like it and I have been to Tokyo. Anyway, the meat was tender and melt-in-your mouth delicious. It brought new flavors to my consciousness and I am glad we stopped by! As a plus and as mentioned in other reviews, they provide herb-infused spa water (tonight it was mint and lemon) as a palette cleanser and some of tbe best miso soup in my life - they even brought us second bowls! Very fast service with attentive servers. before our water was empty, they brought us a new carafe of spa water. there were guests of all ages here. it looks like a local and family favorite. prices are good. Relaxing holiday music was playing. parking can be a tad tight, but thee is neighborhood parking nearby. I'm glad I found this place based on the reviews- it is a small family run place and I love supporting entrepreneurs.
Great Japanese restaurant with very reasonable prices for the quality you get. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and honestly better than expected for the price. Parking is easy, which is a huge plus. Service was excellent — our server was friendly, attentive, and (not gonna lie) very good-looking 😄 Overall, great vibes, great food, and definitely a place I’d come back to.

Surprisingly good little sushi spot!
Tasty sushi at a good price with a welcoming staff and a cool vibe big with open sides that give a nice breeze and a big screen that plays the games.
I have been coming here since it first open. This is my go to spot for sushi. The sushi is very good. I have tried everything on the menu and everything is good. There is something for everyone. The service is really good and everyone is friendly. There usually only two servers so sometimes expect a wait but it worth it. So please be friendly to them. I would give this a 5 star but everytime I have came there always some kinda of change like the menu or the chef so the food sometimes taste different everytime you go but in the good way.
Went in with a party of four. The infused water and free miso soup were a nice touch. We had the spicy rainbow rolls which were good quality and surprisingly filling for sushi. The sushi nachos were presented beautifully and a solid appetizer all around. When running out of wonton chips I was offered more which wasn't expected. Service was great, will return 👍🏻

OK, I tried this place today, not sure what was happening - we had to wait one hour for the food to arrive after our order was taken. We ate and the food was pretty good nice bite size , flavorful- but the wait was one hour it was worth it, and then afterwards another hour to get our bill. The place is very busy and I can understand why, but come on one hour? Afterwards I was told that they where having issues with their POS systems. BUT its still not an excuse - they should be checking on the tables as we also got another persons order, they need another waitress and a bus boy. I would go again but not sure my friend would, since she was starving lol.
Chicken Katsu was one of the best I’ve tasted. Sushi was melt in your mouth. The server forgot one of our orders and did not check back to see if we were good throughout the meal. We to wave him down anytime we needed something. The reason I think he forgot our order was it is a loud restaurant. Music was too loud and acoustics were not good. My family finished their food so I had to get to go!
Wanted to try a new restaurant so stopped by for dinner yesterday. The sashimi was really good but the service was mediocre to poor. The hostess/server was wearing her purse the entire time looking like she was ready to go and she dropped some of our food on the floor. Instead of replacing it, she discounted the bill but not even the cost of what she dropped. The drinks we ordered came after the discount so I'm sure she forgot about them and realized it after she gave the discount. Overall, a poor impression that soured the experience.
It was ok. A bit pricy and they don't have tempura ice cream! I wrote this review after I felt nausea and vomited from eating here. The rice was kind of hard, not soft. Pretty presentation but it not that delicious. Good thing about this place is you don't need to order miso soup. It's part of the meal. One server only and she did a great job however, food was ok.
The atmosphere is good—not too big, not too small. They have a big screen playing ESPN, which is nice. The atmosphere was clean, and the food was tasty. They provide miso soup (on the house) and water when you sit, so that's a plus. Service was great. Note to parents: a stroller would probably not be suitable to bring in here since its not big inside. They do provide booster seats. I had the yummy roll.

I really wanted to like this place. Atmosphere is great. The food is presented well but tasted very bland. The service was horrible. Our waitress chatted with friends and basically ignored her tables the entire time. We only got out after another person stayed working and attended to us.
The food here is small and more chippy and cheesy than All You Can Eat. I will never come here again.
I don't like sushi sashimi every day.
I have eaten at this restaurant a few times for dinner with my fiancé as well as business meetings during their soft openings. Service was a bit slow but I always loved the food so I continued to return. They provide you with miso soup, and the nigiri has always been generous with the fish. This morning, around 10:15am on 6/1/23, I had parked my car in the customer lot shared by Philz Coffee and Te-Buru. I was standing outside digging something out of my trunk before I headed in to Philz to grab coffee for work when a white Tesla drove in, rolled down their window, and a female Asian lady tells me I can't park in the lot and need to move my car. Confused, I really "huh?" Then to my right a short Hispanic man approaches me and tells me the parking lot is for their customers only. I reply, confused with "isn't this a customer lot?" And he said "yes but this is business hours." I reply again with, "well I am a customer for Philz coffee..during business hours. isn't this lot shared with Philz?" And he looks at me confused not knowing what to say and eventually replies to tell me that if I'm parking in the lot for Philz Coffee I need to park in front of the "mobile pickup order" spot. I was not there for a mobile pickup. I parked to go inside to get coffee. The lady eventually pulls in to park in the loading zone area, as it looked like she was the owner delivering supplies for the restaurant. She tells the guy "I think it's okay" and he backed off. I really hope that lady was not the owner because I have never experienced such level of unprofessionalism coming from this restaurant. I can't believe that I even took my business meetings meetings here and said nice things about it. I will never return here and frankly I might even call the city and manager of Philz Coffee to report that this restaurant is preventing customers of Philz Coffee from parking here. FYI - if you want to claim that your parking lot is reserved for your restaurants customers only I suggest you put up a sign that says so. I have seen multiple Long Beach PD cars parking in this lot and walking over to get bagels at Cassidy's Corner. I also suggest you tell the cops they can't park there and see what they say.
I came in to order lunch to go. At the time there were only 3 tables being served. I waited 30 minutes to be told it should only be a few more minutes. A table was sat after me and started receiving food. I asked for a refund unless the food was ready and they hadn’t even started making it.
The owner is a Korean guy and he was not friendly, and service was subpar. Sushi quality was bad and very expensive. Really disappointed. The food was not authentic, so dissatisfied. Never go back again.
