Amazing. The food and the service! It was worth the 1 hour drive and I can't wait to go back. Happy they offered curbside!

Cute spot and good food. Had the clam and crab dip for appetizers. Clams were really good! Crab dip could’ve had more flavor and more crab. Also had a taste of the Bermuda fish chowder which was very tasty. I had the octopus salad and absolutely loved it! Sweet potato fries, crab lumps, and mahi-mahi tacos were also good.

Made reservations here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Ordered a table full of pizza and apps. Food was great! Price was great! Service was great! Would go back and recommend!

Very nice place for dinner . Fish was good 👍🏻 prices little higher than usual , but worth it .

We had an even better experience at Charley's this time around. The new ownership is doing a great job! Can't wait for our next visit!!

Went there for drinks and appetizers on a Saturday. My partner and I got a seat at the bar. Service was super friendly, the brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious and the couple next to us ordered a bunch a food; everything looked good, nice sized portions. You can see the ocean from the bar. Place was spotless clean. Prices are great during happy hour, too. Very nice spot!

Great food and 3 of us ate good and drinks x'3 of course and still with appetizers total of 164 Outdoors was wonderful as well. Your not forgotten out there I'll add that comment to my experience at Charlie's. I'll be a regular anytime I'm close by .

I just hosted my son's 1st birthday party in Charley's upstairs room and I can not recommend this place enough!! The room was beautiful. The food was excellent (hot buffet.) Most importantly, the events manager, Doreen, was wonderful to work with. She was kind and attentive and super flexible to our requests. The bartender was great and friendly. 5 stars across the board. (Thank you Doreen!)

We hosted our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Charley’s and it was an amazing experience. Doreen was amazing to work with from start to finish. She was so accommodating with our guests who had dietary restrictions. Was extremely flexible with any requests we had, and the entertainment space was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this for any events you are considering

I was served by Alyssa. She was without a doubt the best server ive ever had in my life. super friendly and attentive. Drinks and food were delicious. I will be back next time i am down the shore.

This is another one of our go-to spots! We love the food! The mermaid water is dangerously delicious! The service is always incredible. And if it's a nice day, you can feel the ocean breeze with a view as you indulge in the outdoor dining.

A waitress was amazing very nice very sweet. the food was good the mac and cheese for kids has some pepper in it so my daughter did not like it. I do recommend eating here

This is one of the places we drive by almost everyday and didn’t think much of but we were missing out! We just popped in for a late lunch, every bite was incredible. Everything was seasoned to absolute perfection. The best waffle fries we’ve ever had in our lives! Somehow even their tartar sauce was seasoned deliciously. Our server Katie was an absolute delight and just added to the incredible experience. Definitely adding this place to our regular rotation!

Food both looked nice and tasted good. Good portion sizes and the drinks were typical size. Soup came out very hot and meals were warm. Friendly staff and clean place. Had the froze, spicy Bermuda fish soup, and shrimp ravioli.

They seemed to have been short staffed or something because there was a wait and not every table was filled. Our guests arrived before us and put our names down and they were told they only had outdoor tables which we wanted anyways. They sat us down at an indoor table and we had to ask what happened to the outdoor only tables? She moved us and every table seemed to be filled with guests. Our service was very slow as it took quite a while for even drinks to come out and we didn’t get a chance to order yet. As this is happening most of the tables outside are clearing up. Appetizers came out and we were well past finished before our main courses came out and it seems to be getting emptier in the restaurant. The drinks were good and the food fairly good as well. The sweet potato fries could’ve been cooked longer. This is my third time here and every time has been quite pleasant. It was a holiday and quite busy all over the Jersey shore.

I went here for my mother’s birthday and the food was delicious. It’s the winter season so not as packed as summer but the atmosphere was nice! Our server seemed new but was pleasant. I have the shrimp ravioli which was delicious.

Went there for lunch on a weekday. Place was relatively empty. Ordered fish & chips, which is quite standard. Portion was quite generous. Quality is okay. Waitress on duty was good and attentive.

Went to Charley's Ocean Grill after a day at the beach. It was like a late lunch early dinner. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The drinks were just okay. The food was plentiful. Unfortunately, the food was not that good. Their perogies were delicious!!! Everything else eh. The table had a chicken sandwich special. The chicken was pounded so thin that there wasn't a way for the cook to over cook it. The cheese and other toppings were delicious on the sandwich but the bread was stale. Their sushi rice appetizer had good fish on top but the friend rice was soggy and had no flavor. Great location should have been a great meal, but the food was just not up to par.

Sparkling clean, service is friendly, food was good, as described in the menu, just missing a little wow factor. We had a sushi appetizer. It was so cold that it lead me to believe it was prepped earlier and placed in the fridge. It is fine to prep, but it should have been brought up to temp a little bit. It was almost soft serve ice cream cold. It tasted fine and was fresh. Would definitely go back.

The atmosphere and service were spectacular. Mario waited on our table and was very nice and helpful, but the food was not what we expected. We ordered several dishes and it was low in salt. We ordered Mac and Cheese for our little girl and they didn't taste the best (my daughter tried them and didn't want to eat them). The Broccoli and Cheese soup was my favorite. The Lava Cake dessert was spectacular! Super delicious!! And the drinks were great! The space feels very nice and you have a good time.

Service excellent. Wrnt to a party upstairs. Not sure if it's the same food. Was absolutely horrible. Really beautiful views of the ocean. Excellent service. . Friendly Staff. Tasted like canned sauce on the chicken Parmigiano. Vegetables tasted like frozen medley. The salad had absolutely nothing on it. Just lettuce. Needs to improve their cooking skills.

Generous with the 3 stars.. This place has a fantastic location and is quite comfortable... That's the end of the "pros". The service was hurried and indifferent (sure only one drink is wanted right...), drinks are alright. Clams casino were a burnt mess. Seafood parpadelle had a great description and fit that description in ingredients only. Ordered with the fra diavolo, it was bland and watery with way overdone seafood. Mussels and soup were decent. Apple cake was underwhelming at best.. Don't be fooled by a pretty face, there are definitely way better options in the area..

Charley’s Ocean Grill has the makings of a great local spot. It was quiet the night we went, so the atmosphere was not lively or upbeat. The decor was recently updated, so it looks fresh. I had the French Onion Soup, the melted cheese was delicious but the broth itself was a bit too salty. But still enjoyable. I had the fried fish sandwich. The fish was fried in a light batter but it had a spice that I wasn’t familiar with. The staff was nice and were eager to help. I think the next time I visit I will try other items of the menu.

Scallops were very good. The fish and chips was very greasy My husband and I enjoy eating out. We like a nice atmosphere and great food. Although there are tablecloths in the picture there were none on tables. I do not highly recommend

Hit and miss on food. Wings were awesome, fish fry solid, fries good - all the fried stuff was hot and crispy, pappardelle was inedible (seafood was ok but pasta one solid clump on the bottom), lobster tacos just meh - not much lobster flavor, and calamari was interesting flavor - Peruvian means Thai chili flavor which I liked but not my father-in-law - but little over cooked. Cheesecake really good. Was supposed to be ‘Thank You’ dinner to in-laws and at $60 a head after tip (service was great!) it was a letdown

The service was great, our waitress was wonderful. The lobster tacos and old bay fries were delicious, but the fried fish taco had watery slaw and the garlic mashed potatoes tasted like plain dry flake instant potatoes. $60 for two people for lunch, not terrible for right other beach

Staff was amazing! Food was not. I was actually pretty disappointed every step of the way :c we had the mussels and crab dip for starters, they were meh. The seafood pappardelle was so…strange?! Why serve a meal with lobster still in the shell when the sauce is so slippery? Even worse it made us sick that night. My partner threw it all back up and I was queasy. The desserts were okay. Overall I wouldn’t come back.

I have it a 2 a cross the board cause they do have some good dishes. The problem is they need people who know how to cook them and care-,whatever you if u like your steak or burger, medium, rare or less do not order it here they do not know what medium rare is. They only know what medium well is, usually I'll eat it but one time the burger was just burnt to a crisp and I sent it back and it came back raw as raw could be so I sent it back and if you can imagine the manager fought with me on it and I was polite considering first I was serve a hockey puck then I was served an animal probably still mooing. And their burger special don't bother if you want a cheeseburger and fries it's more money than the regular special because somehow they charge four dollars for a slice of very small cheese. I gave it to For service because yet I've had a lot of good servers. I've also been not waited on and then the best is spoken rudely too by the manager. Atmosphere again, I gave it a two. It's not bad it hasn't been changed really in years and if you wanna have a conversation on a Friday night, don't go there. The band is so loud. You can't even hear yourself think not that they're bad so if you wanna listen to a band they have some good music But if you wanna talk to the person you're eating with do not go there. I often wonder why I go back there when I have a 40% chance of being satisfied I guess for the area of view it's reasonably priced and usually not a wait cause it's not too busy everso if you're not looking for a great meal, you could go here

Extremely rude hostess. Did not say hi or smile, seated us at a table inside while we had requested outside seating as part of our reservation, led us to a deck once we pointed out the request and seated us next to another party on an otherwise empty deck and was visibly annoyed when we moved to another table. Food was okay.

We stopped for lunch ! Service was great restrooms- clean Food - terrible . Octopus appetizer was rubbery . Chicken wings - over fried and dry The Mediterranean snapper not tasty-at all the broccoli was dumped on the plate as if they wanted to get rid of it. It was over priced for what we got - $74

I would love to review the food. However, we didn't even get to our drinks. We were a party of 11 wanting to sit together outside. The young lady who was hosting has the worst hospitality. She and the other younger girl who was trying to sit us was just as bad. There was no manager in, and these ladies were not trying to accommodate our table. Giving us attitudes and talking to us like we weren't going to spend money.

Last night we ate at Charley’s. When it was time to pay, we handed our credit card to the food server. He took the card and then returned with a POS wireless tablet. He had already swiped or tapped the card when he returned. I selected the tip and signed the wireless tablet. The next day, the card was used on Walmart.com for a $364 online purchase. This is the only place I’ve used the card in 3 weeks where I didn’t tap the card or inserted the chip myself, or used Paypal. To use the card online at Walmart.com someone had to have attempted to add my card and include the 3 digit code on the back. Everywhere else I used the card there is no opportunity to see my 3 digit security code and expiration date, except when I hand over the card, like at a restaurant. No, I don’t have a smoking gun. I didn’t see my card skimmed or a photo taken front and back, but this is the first time in 4 years this card has been used fraudulently, and it is the day after I used it at Charley’s Ocean Grill. I called the manager out of courtesy, but she made no effort to ask me for my name or contact info. She took the call and said they’ll investigate. The response speaks for itself. The manager made zero effort to ask me for my contact information so the restaurant can investigate and respond to our issue. Instead, when we called the restaurant to advise them of the circumstance, and before the review, the manager was defensive. She couldn’t tell me why the server removed the card from the table when the protocol is supposed to be to bring the POS tablet to the table and have the customer tap the card at the table. Instead, the manager kept insisting it was not the fault of the restaurant without even inquiring of the staff why they removed the credit card from the table. The review didn’t accuse the employee, it alerts people to the ‘likelihood’ of skimming at the restaurant, and the alert that the manager didn’t make the effort to take down contact information and advise the customer of the outcome of a review. Whether the employee is responsible, or another party at the restaurant is responsible, is not at issue. Protocols are to bring the POS terminal to the table, and not remove credit cards and walk them to the bar area. And when a customer calls you about a potential issue, take their contact information and follow up. We were planning to dine at the restaurant again, until the experience with the manager. Now we are not returning.

Your hostess doesn’t really know what she’s doing she’s not pleasant at all. Most big woman that are hostess they’re nice and pleasant. You should change her.

Abhorrent service. Our server was flippant and ignored us throughout the night. I ordered lobster. After an hour the food came out and the lobster meat was black. I questioned this was told this is normal. A quick google search shows black lobster meat means it’s not properly cooked. They took the food away and said they’d bring another. It wasn’t until after our table talked to another table about the food that the manager came over and asked what was wrong. He offered free drinks and dessert. Fine. Thank you. Not once did the manager or server apologize for anything. By the end we were one of two tables left and we could observe the server talking to coworkers pointing and laughing at us. The manager actively ignored us. We had to go up and ask for the check. They comped us a round of drinks and gave free desserts. We still paid $200.00 for the meal. Apathetic to outright rude staff. Will not go back our recommend.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt before writing a review. It’s disappointing when you go out to dinner and the service and food is not what you expect. They forgot my friend’s main course and after bringing my dish it took about 10 minutes before we got someone to get back to our table to ask if everything was ok. My tuna was extra well done when I asked for medium rare. The manager tried to remedy the problem and brought me chicken tacos which were ok. She offered dessert on the house. Definitely not coming back.

Charlie's Ocean grill was disgusting. Calamari appetizer was tough and in some really weird sauce. Fish and chips was terrible. Waffle fries were fried hard as a rock and the fish was all breading and oily. It was the worst food experience I have had in years. Service was mediocre at best.
