Their Happy hour is 10/10, great cocktails for a great price! They gave chips and salsa for every table. Their cheese empanada was heavy and massive for the $5 price. Look at that cheese pull!! Happy hour is in the attached picture, but ranges from $5 beers to $9 cocktails. Ambiance - fun music, and a cool backyard, if was too cold to go outside but would be fun for the summers Service - sweet staff
Damn that was good. They gave me a piece of my Peru, didn’t wanted to leave. Every dish was perfectly made. Delicious. And the attention was flawless. Shut out to Beatriz and Matias.
I couldn’t be happier with the food, the place is cozy, loved the ambience, I definitely go back
The service at The Inkan is truly family-oriented and of excellent quality. From the very first visit, this place becomes a regular spot where you feel right at home, all thanks to the incredible hospitality of the owners. The backyard patio is a total hidden gem—super spacious, comfortable, and the perfect vibe for a relaxed dinner. As for the food, the Entraña (skirt steak) is a solid 8/10. It was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. You can really tell they care about the quality of every plate they put out. If you want a place that combines great food with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is it. It’s officially my new go-to in the neighborhood.
Outside of being cold (it was like 6 degrees outside and there was a serious draft every time the door opened), it was nice to come here afterwork for a drink with my coworker. We did order dinner, but we're both glp-1 girls and could barely touch the generous portions after having drinks. So we took our food to go, and didn't think to let our server know, that nothing was wrong with the food. So I had to come leave a review after tearing that plate up at home!! I ordered the 1/2 chicken, dark meat with the green rice! Yum!! Rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful, same with the chicken..juicy, not overly salty and fresh!! Ive worked around the corner for years and have never come. Ill surely be coming back to bring chicken home for my family and to try the seafood. The smell of the seafood while we were there was yum!
We used the Inkan for catering for our company holiday party of about 200 people. The food was delicious and Jorge was super helpful and quick to respond to messages and calls. We will definitely use them again. I think the only area for improvement is more detailed food labels.
I stumbled on this place while wandering the neighborhood and it was a great find. The green dipping sauce they had for the chips while we waited for the food was standout sauce of the day. The pescado a lo macho was some of the best I've had in NY. I will be returning whenever I'm in that neighborhood again.
We celebrated a birthday by picking up take out from the menu. The decor was cozy and upscale with warm wood and earth tones in the dining area. A small but nicely stocked bar was inviting along the back wall and we would have partaken had we not been on the clock. The staff were attentive and welcomed us warmly. The background music helped set the mood for an authentic Peruvian experience. But the reason we were there was to try the food. The food was amazing! My first taste of Peruvian fare and I was blown away by the freshness, the textures and colors that all worked together so beautifully! Ceviche shrimp, fresh avocado, potato puree, panko shrimp, quinoa, fresh greens, mango...unbelievably delightful. I am so looking forward to dining in on our next visit. It's a must-try and a moderately upscale dining experience in an area of Long Island City generally dominated by food trucks and take outs.
We came for a quick bite and just a glass of Whisky, The service was quick and the calamari was so good, you can tell it’s fresh! Unfortunately we forget to take picture before eating, so you can see we finished it all. They have a patio perfect for outdoor seating. We will come back earlier next time, cause we came like 30 mins before closing.
Amazing Engagement Party at The INKAN! I recently hosted my engagement party at The INKAN, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely delicious—our guests couldn’t stop raving about the Peruvian-style ribs, vegetarian chaufa, and the mouthwatering rotisserie chicken. The Peruvian sauce was, without a doubt, the most flavorful sauce I’ve ever tasted, and my entire family loved it! We had around 50 people at the party, and the venue was beautifully decorated, including a lovely backyard area. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the owner and the servers were super attentive during the whole party and made the experience that much better. I would highly recommend coming here for delicious food and drinks (must try the sangria, although all drinks were good!), or even hosting a party. If you’re looking for an authentic Peruvian dining experience with exceptional service, I highly recommend The INKAN—it’s the perfect spot for any celebration!
After seeing so many great reviews, we had to give The Inkan a try — and overall, it was a really good experience. The flavors were bold and authentic, and you can tell the dishes are made with care. The chaufa de carne was well seasoned with tender pieces of beef, and the tallarín verde con bistec had a creamy, flavorful green sauce paired with a nicely cooked steak. The lomo salteado the inkan was tasty with a great balance of onions and tomatoes, and the shrimp, which were cooked well, complemented the dish nicely. The portions were very generous (shared between 2 adults) and the atmosphere was welcoming. While it didn’t completely wow us, it was still a solid spot for Peruvian food, and we’d definitely consider coming back to try more dishes. 🇵🇪✨
Great value with price and portions. We both ordered individual plates: (1) 1/4 chicken rotisserie with (3) sides avocado/mashed potatoes/sweet plantains and (1) Chicken chiccarones with (2) sides rice/sweet plantains. There was no wait for a table on a Saturday night at 7PM….right off the 7 train @ court square. Prompt and friendly enough greeting and service as we were the only ones there. Ordered a Modelo and Guanabana juice (which was fresh without the overload of sugar). While you wait, you can tell the chips are homemade there and love their jalapeño dip…addicting. Generous portions which I loved. My chicken rotisserie was justtt short of being dry, but the overall flavor was flavorful. Great mashed potatoes flavor. The sweet plantains were a bit oily…perhaps a bit more sugar would be great, but they were big! It was the only piece on my plate I was not able to finish. Everything was affordable unlike spending an arm & leg at some of the NYC restaurants. Also love the space heater in the bathroom lol! Will definitely come back.
First time here and unsure if we'll be back. The overall experience was not bad. For starters it was a Monday night, wasn't too busy. It was just my fiancé (who is Peruvian) and myself (Boricua). I had a Ceviche Mixto (picante) - Ceviche was like none we've ever had, not bad in quality but absolutely NO spice/ or flavor. It was so bland...weird to me for a Peruvian restaurant. He had a Lomo Saltado (regular) - the Lomo was very good and the size was sharable for us. So that wasn't disappointing. And we ordered a pitcher of Sangria, which was pretty good. Normally, other places offer you Canchitas (Peruvian corn nuts) instead we got tortilla chips (that were good, but not a Peruvian starter at all). So this kind of threw us off. Lastly, what I found disappointing / annoying - the music! No Peruvian native music, not even spanish music, we were having dinner listening to Rihanna, 50 Cent, Eminem, Tupac etc. The place itself is cute, the service was good, but I would make some changes if I were management with regards to giving your patrons an authentic Peruvian experience.
After reading many positive reviews and hearing great things about the food, we decided to stop by and try this place. Overall, the experience was okay, but it did not fully match our expectations based on the reviews. It’s possible we may not have ordered the most popular or representative dishes. 1. Ceviche The ceviche was missing depth of flavor. The dominant note was sour, without much balance or complexity, which made the dish feel one-dimensional. 2. Seafood pasta The pasta was decent for the price and portion, but again, the flavor felt incomplete, as if something essential was missing from the overall composition. 3. Service One thing that stood out was that customers were expected to pack their own food. In my experience, this takes away from the level of service, especially when tipping is expected based on the service provided at the table. I was also somewhat surprised that the staff confidently asked us to leave a review, which is understandable, but it highlighted the contrast with the service experience we had. Overall, the food and service were acceptable, but given the strong reputation and reviews, I expected a more refined and well rounded dining experience.
The Food was aaaaaamaaaziiiinngggg !!! Good portions and the taste was exceptionally excellent. But the service was horrible. Had to stand up 3 times, once to get napkins halfway thru the meal. Then more limes and a third time to get a cup of ice for my wife’s and our best friends sangria glasses. Not even once in the meal the waiter and waitress came out to see how things were going “which sometimes that could be annoying too when they do it too many times” or to see if we needed anything. Other things happened when my friend actually said something to the waitress but that’s not here nor there, I’m going to save my comments on that. I will be back definitely, the food is great, now then again I already know how the service goes. The ambiance is very chill too, we had a good time.
Neat little place. Grabbed food before heading out. There were 1 or 2 other people there. Maybe it's the choice of food, but only the chicken & the green spicy sauce were pretty good, not the yellow rice & fries. The fries felt soggy as if they were thawed & put in a fryer, and yet stayed soft r em though they were hot. Rice not bad, but nothing special. Service was very good, staff was very welcoming.
Very disappointed with the food, simply tasteless and mediocre. The ceviche didn’t deliver, not enough lime nor salt. The seafood rice had 1 (pre cooked) mussel with few bits of calamari, basically 90% green old tasteless reheated rice with 10% few bits of calamari, 2 shrimps and 1 mussel. Outdated ambience, it needs a major renovation. Service was fine. Too bad this is in my neighbourhood and there’s a lack of good solid restaurants in the area.
Rating: ★★☆☆☆ I went today to the location in Long Island City and unfortunately did not have the best experience. We waited about an hour for our food, which was longer than expected. During that time, our server was not very attentive, and it was difficult to get updates or check-ins. Better communication would have made the wait more manageable. When the food arrived, it was disappointing. My mashed potatoes were cold, and the avocado on my plate seemed old and slightly discolored. The chicken portion was also very small, with barely any meat on it. For the price and the wait time, I expected better quality and presentation. Because of the overall experience the long wait, inattentive service, and food quality we chose not to leave a tip. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that management can improve service consistency and food quality, as the location has potential. I spent $90 with my girl. We got drinks and sent it back because it was watered down. Also had what seemed like 2 people on the clock.
I ordered ceviche to go from this restaurant for the first time, and the total, including a $3.00 tip, was $30.00. I was okay with the price until I opened the bag and saw what they packed for $30.00. This is unacceptable—it looks like a snack! I took pictures with a plastic fork next to the container so you can see how little food they gave me. I eat like three scoops, and that’s it. See the pictures and judge for yourselves."
