OMG the Seafood Stew last night at Reds was amazing. My husband had the filet and wow!! The food at Reds never ceases to amaze me, always 5*
We were stunned! What a remarkable experience. This exceptional restaurant delivered top tier food, with fantastic service - thank you, Steven. The entire visit helped to make our wedding anniversary even more memorable. Highly recommended!
Saw this restaurant cooked their fries in beef tallow so I had to try it. It did not disappoint. The food was very good. The service was even better. I was disappointed that my fries were cold. I let our server (Stephen) know and he immediately took care of it. The manager also came over to apologize. New super hot fries came out quickly. Since covid, service has gone down the shitter. I am very happy that a higher level is coming back. I will definitely be coming back.
We haven't been here in awhile but spot on again. We had the venison stuffed jalapeños, olives, char grilled ceasar and rigatoni bolognese. Great craft cocktails. I highly recommend the paper plane! Rashel was an amazing mixologist!
Reds Bistro has always been a local favorite for its elevated food and friendly atmosphere, but our recent experience truly surpassed all expectations. Last nights experience was amazing. We were delighted to find they have a new Michelin-starred chef, Scott McDonald, who is also a Food Network Chopped champion. His presence has elevated the entire dining experience to a whole new level. We started with the tuna tartare and fresh-baked sourdough—both were phenomenal. For the main course, I had the filet, perfectly cooked and served with a rich demi-glace and a side of fried risotto—absolutely delicious! My wife had the halibut, which was simply off the charts. Our daughter also had the filet, simply prepared with french fries on the side (and her usual 2 ketchup’s). To top it all off, we finished with the panna cotta, a perfect end to an incredible meal. The servers and management are always amazing, creating a welcoming environment that feels like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. It’s a hidden gem where you can enjoy a Michelin-level dining experience in a come-as-you-are friendly atmosphere. If you haven't tried Reds lately, do yourself a favor and go now while you can still get a table. This place has truly become a dining destination worthy of the top restaurants in the region. Not to be missed!
The food was amazing. Great service. Only issue I had with this place was the small menus options and limited choices. But overall it was very good. The menu doesn’t change very often, and although the food is excellent, it would be nice to have a bigger variety of food. I will say the truffle fries are amazing and the state was not bad. The service was excellent, and really fast for a place of this quality. They do reservations online through open table and other websites of it is very easy and convenient Try it
Red's was great! Nice location on the corner. Plenty of great views of downtown Loomis, and people watching to do while seated. Reservations are recommended, but we were seated quickly as a walk-in around 7:00 p.m. on a Monday evening. Great atmosphere inside, and the food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious from start to finish. I'd recommend coming here with enough time to take a walk downtown after dinner. It is a beautiful small town to explore.
Menu variety is small but delicious and pricey. Very enjoyable. Food was fantastic. Desserts we had one of each. The flourless chocolate cake was decadent and rich. Loved it. Waitress was attentive cute and friendly and a great attitude and smile.
Fresh, tasty food, excellent presentation, fun and classy atmosphere and top notch service with a smile. We started with the homemade freshly baked sourdough bread: SO good. Great wine list! We had a French Red with the beef bolognese and a crisp Spanish Albariño with the halibut special. It was superb! We wrapped up the meal with the Pot de Crème. Such a great spot. I am already planning my next outing to Red's Bistro.
Stumbled upon this hidden gem and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The moody vibe and decor was impeccable, the food was phenomenal and the service with our server Stephen was fabulous. Will be returning with everyone I know!
This place is gorgeous inside! The menu is a foodie one. I had the Miso Bread Pudding & my whole family had food envy. Plus our server (who's name I've forgotten, but she was lovely) was perfect! We never wanted for anything. It's great to see places like this opening up in Loomis! #EatLocal

Amazing gastronomic experience, beautiful bar with amazing cocktails, wine selections are outstanding and the service is over the top! Hidden gem! Too bad I didn’t know about it until now. Will be regular.
Great spot in Loomis for classy cocktails, a unique upscale menu, and beautiful ambiance. Perfect for date night or larger groups. Plenty of parking behind the building. Summer salad was huge, salmon stuffed with crab was amazing.
We had a wonderful date night and it was made even better by the service Steven provided. He was not only friendly, he was beyond attentive! And the food, simply delicious. My husband had the New York steak special and I had a salad with shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection. Oh, and forget about the sourdough bread. YUM. It was all around a wonderful experience!
We had an incredible dining experience at Reds’ Bistro last night. From start to finish, everything was flawless. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service attentive without being overbearing, and the food… absolutely outstanding. I ordered the halibut, and it was cooked to perfection—delicate, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, each one a delicious surprise, and capped the evening with a decadent dessert that we’re still talking about today. The wine selection was impressive, and the pairing recommendations were spot-on. What really sets Reds’ Bistro apart is their impressive, creative menu—unlike anything else you’ll find in the area. This is a true hidden gem, the kind of place you have to experience firsthand to truly appreciate the care, creativity, and quality that goes into every dish. We will definitely be back
My husband and I and been here a handful of times and we love it. We love the atmosphere and had a great time at the new bar area with the bar tender Rochelle last night ☺️

Table for eight, not crowded, not too loud to visit, comfortable seating and temperature. Six different menu items ordered and all were delicious. From burgers to rigatoni and duck to chili, we all said we’d be back. Available desserts were ordered without regrets! Service was impeccable. This is a perfect place to take guests you want to impress or your Mom, even your wife.
Second time at Reds and first since they’ve opened the bar. Amy was excellent, great recommendations and service. The cocktails we got were also very tasty and balanced. Shishito peppers were incredible. The bacon they serve as a garnish to the peppers is so smokey and delicious. Brussel sprouts were overcooked but not charred enough. Odd combo. Mains were overall tasty and well seasoned with exception of the ribeye which was tough and needed more salt. Cooked to correct temp (though served cool, clearly done well before other entrees). Overall good showing and would be happy to go back. The beef tallow fries are delicious btw! Would go just for them.

Went for dinner last week. Overall good experience. Here's my review: we ordered scallops and French onion soup for starters, which both were excellent. For a main me shared a steak which was perfectly cooked. For fine dining in the French bistro genre, I would have expected a few options for the steak, including bernaise or herb butter. Also, the fries were kind of soggy. Not like the steak frittes you would hope for. And they were just serve with ketchup, no aioli or even mayo. Although to be fair, they didn't advertise it as steak frittes, but that is standard bistro faire so I did have that in mind. And aioli is so easy! And mayo even easier! And both standard French bistro faire. The asparagus was overcooked. Our server was very friendly, but didn't know the menu super well. At the end of the meal we were not offered deserts. We didn't want them, but just missed the mark for standard fine dining to offer. I love options for local fine dining, so I intend this as taken for constructive criticism.

The food was bland, underwhelming, and overpriced. A small loaf of bread is offered without mentioning the $10 charge. Tables near the bar are served by the bartender, who becomes too busy with bar guests and neglects table service—unacceptable given the restaurant’s high prices. If the restaurant was understaffed, which does happen, I would have hoped the manager would have jumped in to help the servers. Unfortunately, they were busy gossipping about other customers in the service area. Yes, we could hear them.
I was thoroughly disappointed with my recent visit. My wife and I went for a date night, drawn in by the positive buzz we’d heard. Initially, everything looked promising: the ambiance was warm and inviting, and our server was exceptionally attentive. Unfortunately, the food itself fell far short. We ordered oysters with apple-yuzu granita and jalapeño, French onion soup, a spring garden salad, and the market fish (salmon). We planned on ordering dessert but never made it that far. The oysters were out of balance, and one was spoiled. They lacked the bright citrus flavor I was expecting from the yuzu and apple, which would have balanced the jalapeno and oyster flavors. Next was the French onion soup, which was so overcooked it became burnt and lost all moisture, resulting in a strong, acrid taste. It was among the worst French onion soups we’ve tried. The salad was the most enjoyable dish, though still lacking in execution—particularly because the kale wasn’t massaged, making it tough and coarse to chew throughout the salad. Finally, we received our salmon. When I cut it in half to share, it was completely raw from end to end, as if it had only been given a quick sear. It was cold—almost icy—in the center. We sent it back and asked for our check. Although our waiter was apologetic, the manager's response felt condescending, as though we were mistaken about the undercooked fish rather than it being a kitchen error. **updating based on management reply: retracting my comment about management. It was our impression but will give the benefit of the doubt. Upgrading to two stars - food execution was still an issue.** We ended up leaving to eat elsewhere. Interestingly, staff at the second restaurant mentioned they had heard this place has been declining for the past couple of years, which is unfortunate because the concept seems promising. Given the choice, I’d much rather dine at Hawks or Chef’s Table than return here.
Our experience. Steven was an excellent server. The food was delicious once we finally received it. It took over an hour from the time we ordered entrees until food was in front of us. Waiter came to the table 4 times apologizing for the delay and assuring us the food was coming. We had dessert. Paid the bill. Tipped 20%. There was never an offer to even take care of our $10 dessert (in my opinion one of the four meals or at least a round of the extra drinks we ordered should have been comp’d). I will not return. Many other good restaurants to choose from.
Food was terrible. My cioppino came to the table cold with soggy bread stuck in it. It literally had a chunk of soggy bread floating in it, that with the dim lighting, I assumed was a piece of fish. When searching for piece of halibut with my spoon, couldnt find one. Only 2 clams and 2 mussells. No crab either. My wifes rigatoni was also luke warm, with the pasta on top and the non sauced meat mixture at the bottom. The beet salad had an odd puree, a hard goat cheddar (why wouldnt they use a soft goat cheese?) That didnt pair well with giant slices of apple on top. Odd and just not good. The french onion soup was terrible. The cheese they paired with it was disgusting. We were laughing at the table that it literally smelled like a stray cat. I am shocked at the good reviews on here. Service was, I suppose, decent, but slow. Drinks were not great, they couldn't even get a dirty martini correct. To the point to where I almost asked for a side of olive juice. Gave them 2 stars for service because they were polite.
