really shocked!! something you would not expect.. just a small place next to a boutique hotel... but.... the service was great (although they were super busy)... the drinks were good.. and the food was exceptional.. really.. i was actually shocked by the quality of the food. burger was next level and tacos were fantastic, so were the rolls.. really good.. the sauces that came with it were exceptional .. place was rocking and it was as much a lounge with lots of young ppl hanging out for drinks as it was a place to have a late dinner. the prices were a bit up there but very good quality so I would not really care to look at the bill. The server was great and so was the hostess and the bartender.. fantastic all around!!
Led by superstar chef, Chef Angie Lee, the Caravan Swim Club has some of the best takes on MexiCali food around. Fresh, light and yet flavorful and delightful to all the senses. Each dish is prepared with such care and attention, they are literal art. The drinks are fantastic and whether you dine poolside or on the elevated rooftop space, memories are sure to be made as what is life without exceptional food, great views and even better company. Check it out for yourself soon and let us know which dish was your favorite as for us it was too hard to choose.
The food was stunning. I don’t often think of the chef when I eat but 🤯 wow! The drinks are strong, there’s a pool, a day pass, and the beach a short drive away. We got a reservation a few hours for same day and I have zero complaints. Bravo 🙌🏼
It was a great restaurant, service and food was top notch (I got fish tacos, elote and ceviche). They're one the higher end food price wise, but other than that, I would recommend highly.
What a lovely setting. The burger was outstanding. Crudo was very good. We also enjoyed the guacamole. Best is the quiet place to have lunch by the pool.
We went to the June Yesterday for brunch and ended up hanging by the pool. We had so much fun! The Food, Service & vibes were amazing! We will definitely be back! Great girls day spot!
One of the best meals you'll ever have. Decadent but not snooty, well balanced flavors and staff are beyond amazing!
Fantastic place! Either if you’re dining in or taking out. Pure joy! Try steak with grilled pineapple. Out of this world. House wine specially made for June Hotel. Very special! Cookies are an immediate addiction!
I was skeptical at first because it’s a hotel restaurant but brunch was great! The avocado toast was delicious and they serve a good coffee too
Great hospitality, and the food really hits the right notes, very satisfying. Great mezcal collection too!
Amazing brunch menu & a super friendly staff.
Really impressed with the meal. Everything was great.
Basketball season... got out of a game and have no idea where and what to eat ... we heard about this place and .... LOVED IT!! FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! We are coming back for sure!!
Fun music playing the whole time. P is smaller than it appears food was great
Great Bar / restaurant at Hotel June
Chill music. Tons of Mezcal and a light food menu. Sip something and and enjoy ya day.
Absolutely a hidden gem. Delicious food, comfortable space, professional staff and Bruno's live music was masterful. The care and pride of the staff was apparent. Tacos, sure, but also more adventurous dishes, all pulled off above expectations.
It’s safe to say, this place single-handedly saved our vacation. My boyfriend and I had been looking for good restaurants with awesome cocktails, good food, and of course a beautiful atmosphere. Just so happens, this is the place! The food was great! It took a bit of time to get the food after ordering, but this wasn’t an issue having understood the restaurant was a bit busy, and we had time to soak up the awesome vibes. Needless to say, we will definitely be returning! the staff has done some awesome work!
Chose Caravan Swim Club for dinner as we were meeting people who were staying near LAX and didn’t want to go too far - I have no idea why there are any negative reviews, the food was great! We had the tacos, steak, sea bass, burger, charcuterie plate, and chips and guacamole and salsa and everybody was happy with their meal. I’d say the weakest point of the night were the cocktails - they were fine, not bad but nothing special, I personally preferred the wine. It has a lovely atmosphere as well, so definitely check it out if you’re in the area looking for a relaxing place to have a great meal.
What a cute place. I love the decor/ambiance. Think: upscale modern beach cabana vibes. The mocktail was super tasty, as were the vegan jackfruit tacos. Highly recommend.
Really amazing food! Even if not staying at the hotel, would definitely recommend going over here and checking out this hidden gem in LA near the airport. The food is mexican-inspired, and the atmosphere is super cozy and goes along with it - makes you really like you are on a beach in mexico.
Great food and vibes. Service was fantastic and friendly. Get the shrimp tacos and the guac.
Such a stunning spot !! Definitely transported me to an island 🏝️!!! Decor was so monotone & not in your face flashy & bold. My type of design. I would go for an island drink any day of the week 😉
Really good food! I had the June Chop Salad and really enjoyed it. Also, the decor is really pleasant. Would Definitely recommend trying out!
I walked into Caravan and it felt like I was on vacation immediately. The atmosphere is really chill and I liked the menu a lot. Service was very friendly and quickly addressed any concerns we had. The bartenders are excellent as well.
I live in Playa, and I'm so happy to have Caravan Swim Club in the neighborhood! It is a perfect date spot, girls night spot, and just all around fun spot. The decor makes you feel like you've been transported to Tulum, but unlike most "pretty" restaurants, the food and drinks are great too. The cocktails are inventive and tasty. I had the Bad Rabbit, a mezcal - carrot juice cocktail, and was pleasantly surprised at the combo of sweet carrot and smoky mezcal with honey and citrus (I had multiple!). Food-wise, whoever invented the vegan cauliflower nachos deserves a Nobel Prize. My friend and I scraped this plate clean. Crispy cauliflower with creamy cashew-coconut-tumeric cheeze? Amazing. The garnish of radishes, pickled onions, and other crunchy bits was great too. My salmon entree was delicious, crispy skin and tender fish with great lobster sauce and the puffed rice was the perfect textural counterpoint. My friend had the burger protein-style and said it was great as well. Our waitress was great, just the right amount of attentive but gave us space as well. I would highly recommend Caravan Swim Club :)
I just ordered a burger and I got the best service of my life my very handsome man and two very lovely young ladies. The young man was tall and had round glasses on kudos to you honey.
Shout out to Gavin, the Director Of Operations, for helping check me in, ensure I had what I needed and even suggested his favorite dishes to order and he was Spot On!! Would definitely come back on my next LA trip!
Johnny and Chelsea at Caravan Club are the real MVPs. I feel so welcomed when I'm here. To feel appreictaes as a repeated customer is all the reason I'll always stay here every time I visit LA. Thanks guys -- for being super kind and attentive. Best staff ever!!!♡
Really cool place and the food is incredibly delicious. I had the best Chios guacamole and salsas ever. The green posole was the best I've ever had.
Outstanding....turkey club is an excellent value. Great fresh food. The staff is helpful and not over intrusive. Heck yeah I be back!
A cute hidden cocktail bar. Nice for a chill girls night or laid back date. Great cocktails.
Caravan Swim Club: A Welcoming Oasis for Overcast Days If you're looking for a warm and inviting place to enjoy a meal or drink, even on an overcast day, look no further than Caravan Swim Club. This poolside restaurant at Hotel June in Westchester, California has clear plastic shades that reduce the wind and allow the light and scenery to shine through. On a recent overcast day, I was greeted by a friendly hostess who suggested the shrimp tacos. I'm so glad I took her advice! The tacos were perfectly seasoned and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. You can also enjoy the margaritas, which are made with fresh ingredients and are the perfect complement to a meal. While I didn't have a chance to swim on my visit, I could tell that Caravan Swim Club is a great place to spend a sunny day. The pool is surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and cabanas, and there's also a fire pit for cooler evenings. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Caravan Swim Club. The food was delicious, the drinks are refreshing, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy a meal or drink, even on an overcast day. Tip: Be sure to make a reservation, especially if you're visiting on a weekend.
Great service, yummy food, good drinks. It's a chill space to catch up with friends without the lines and wait at popular brunch spots.
Got a cabana here. I enjoyed it. Cute spot. Food was ok. Def check it out if you’re looking for a relaxing pool day.
Not your typical hotel restaurant bar. Unexpectedly good dishes in an open-air setting above the Hotel June pool.
I love this spot when I'm traveling to LA. Minus one star though, because they took the delicious spicy chicken soup off the menu. It was literally crave worthy and I was looking forward to having it again this visit. The great tequila selection is a plus.
This place is a hidden Gem 💎 because it is not out in the Open! It sits behind a Hotel and is on the 2nd FL with a view overlooking a Swimming Pool! The food 😋 is good and the restaurant has a nice Ambiance to it! It has a walk up Bar 🍸 and the place is super clean! If visit this place you will not be disappointed!
The food was on the smaller size but the service made up for it. I was planning on making it a pool day while waiting for my next flight but there was no shower available.
Great chill vibes. The music was not too loud. The food was good. I'm not an alcohol guy so we cannot right now, but it seems fine to me. Nice ambience and decor.
I love Mexican food and I look for good hole in the walls as well as fine dining places. I have been here 6 or more times. My family used to love the food here. Everything we tried was just amazing. My kids looked forward to coming here. The last 2 time we ate the we had a completely different experience. I feel like the food quality has changed for worse. Our last visit the food quality and taste was so bad that we did not finish our food. The only reason I am giving them a 3 is because of the service because the service is actually pretty good when you are in there. On a side note do not try to contact them for events or for anything as they are really, really bad. Once I wanted to have an office party there and I tried to reach our at least 5 times and even tried to reach the manager for the Resturant and the hotel and they did not even call me back. This review is an average rating for the over all experience. If I was to rate the last 2 visit and the management skills they would really get a big 0 star. 5 for Food more than 8 months ago 0 for resent food 4 for Service 4 for ambiance 0 for customer service
Having never stayed at this hotel but driven by several times (being local), I still had to try the food at their “swim club”. The view down to the pool is nice and as is the one over the local roof tops toward the airport which is close but doesn’t feel like it. The food was passable but not super great. Worth a try for sure.
Went for DineLA. Was not that impressed by food and service was pretty slow cause kitchen is on ground floor and our waitress was hard to find probably because of the downstairs kitchen. Would come again but only to sit by pool when it’s a hot day.
We joined for the Lunch DineLA experience. The food was excellent: we got the octopus carpaccio, arroz con mariscos (which I would call a paella), and a scoop of gelato or sorbet with a mini bite-size cookie. My compliments to the Spanish chef (you could really feel his Spanish influence in his food as well as Italian influence from his years spent living in Italy). Our server Josh was also a fine, pleasant fellow. The issue we had was more with the management (or seemingly lack thereof) and the excessive fees. This is the first restaurant I've ever been to that doesn't (or "can't") accept prepaid Opentable Reward cards - everyone who has an Opentable Reward card needs to proceed with extreme caution. Our server Josh did everything he could, but I believe the manager(s) could have done SOMETHING: they could have offered some gesture/compromise or at least come to our table to talk with us - to show some hospitality. Maybe I'm just comparing with my excellent managers at my restaurant, but I definitely noticed that at this restaurant. Regarding the excessive fees, the automatic 20% gratuity even for small parties is extremely excessive, I could see that possibly making some servers complacent - and that's not to mention that apparently there's another 4% or so wellness fee added on top of that. All in all, the server and food were quite good, while the management/manager(s) and fees were unsatisfactory. If you have an Opentable Reward card, go to any other restaurant.
Service was great, and they had some great natural wine selections, but the food was super disappointing. We had a lobster roll that was less than 4 inches long, about 1.5 inches wide and that was 85% grilled corn. And the lobster meat was that weird part from deep inside the claw - you know, the part with the questionable texture.. For $25. Basically just gave them that money for nothing. May be a cool vibe in summer when the weather is good, but I'll never go back for the food.
Made a reservation on open table and got there to find out the system was down and only guests of the hotel could order food. Waste of my time. I would have appreciated a phone call letting me know the system issue to save me the trip.
The valets ruin it for everyone. They set up shop blocking traffic that is trying to leave from the other stores and venues. Then the valets instruct drivers to leave down the other side of the barrier going the wrong direction into oncoming traffic, because they have the exit lane congested with stopped cars. When I was there, the valets almost caused an accident with instructing a car to drive down the wrong side of the barrier. Then they gave the middle finger to the person who was driving in the correct lane in the correct direction. I'm never going back to this restaurant, but I will continue to visit the other stores and venues that share the same driveway. I'm hoping the valets will move their operation around the corner where it will be safer for everyone.
Had an 11:30 reservation on a Sunday. Only one other party seated, every other table was empty. 15 mins before we got water. 30 mins before we got our mediocre appetizer. 40 mins after we arrived, they brought us incorrect entrees (both of them). We cancelled our food and left at that point.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. The service is the worst I have ever had in LA. We never got glasses of water. After ordering drinks, we waited so long that I walked up to the bar and picked up the drinks myself. Order of food came out wrong - twice. The waitress and management are clueless. The tables around us were just as frustrated and upset. Don’t go here
They have a pool. They have a bar. You can drink at the pool, and at the bar. You can take drinks from the bar to the pool. But not during "Golden Hour" when the discounted drinks are "...for drinking at the bar only!", as instructed by the guy behind the bar, followed by "if you take them away to the pool, I'll make sure you're charged full price!". So I either make my family get out of the pool and sit at the bar soaking wet, or I pay full price for the same drinks I could get discounted if we were to sit at the bar, 10 feet away? Nuts.
