Very good food and atmosphere. I was with a group using their special room and it is very lovely. Set a bit away from the main with it's own staff and serving area it has a nice feel. I have also enjoyed the main dining room. Always good food and service we have been there many times.
Had a nice experience. Food is great and service is good.
I really enjoyed the food and service at this place. We started with some very nice appetizers in the octopus and cured meats. Then each of our entrees came out and we had ordered wildly different things but everyone was very satisfied with their food. I would definitely recommend this place for a lunch meeting you are doing business in downtown LA.
Food and service are definitely worth 5 stars. My only complaint is that their bread game is off. No self- respecting Italian dips bread in plain oil. I understand if there's not fresh herbs,, but least give us salt/pepper or grated parm. Overall, this was just a very minor point. The experience was great. Very high quality on all levels.
The service was excellent, our water glasses were always refilled quickly. The food was delicious, so good we didn't want to spoil it with dessert. The Veal Chop was so juicy, tender, and flavourful. I enjoyed the seasonal pumpkin soup and wish I had the recipe to recreate it at home for my family. The before dinner drinks were quite tasty, and I really enjoyed my Spaghetti Western Sour.
Lovely space, with fine service and excellent food. Not inexpensive, but totally reasonable given the quality and the times we are in. But I do really object to the $45 a bottle corkage fee. We brought two special, well aged bottles of wine, with nothing on their list anything like my bottles, and we were charged $90 to open them, even after we also bought one bottle from their list as well. As a wine collector who wants to drink what I have collected (and aged in my cellar) when I dine out, this fee is too high and I probably won't return. Too bad.
I showed up with high expectations, and they were exceeded. Our server guided us through the menu and gave perfect suggestions. The somm was excellent in pairing the meals appropriately, and thus enhancing the experience. I cannot wait to come back to try other menu options.
The cozy ambience, the delicious and the impeccable service all contributed to a wonderful and unforgettable night. Absolutely recommend!
An amazing restaurant. Right in the heart of the financial district. Everything was perfect. The ambiance, the service and the food. The wine list was amazing and could be paired perfectly to the menu items. The true flavor of Sicilian cuisine can be experienced here. Our server was absolutely fantastic. We got the Caesar salad and the octopus for our starters. Both fantastic, but the true star were the mains. We will make a habit of visiting every time we are back in LA. Despite the restaurant being fully booked, nobody and nothing missed a beat… absolutely superb!
Wow!! Great service, amazing food did I mention great service?!! I’ll definitely be back!
My first time visiting Drago Centro and hopefully not my last. I was very impressed with the entire experience from the moment I arrived at the valet parking until I walked out the door. Lovely setting on the lower level of an office tower in downtown Los Angeles. There is valet parking and the restaurant validates. The restaurant is good sized but is not overly loud and there is a beautiful patio and lots of natural light. Nice selection of options to suit all sorts of dietary needs. All of the staff was kind and very thoughtful. They did a nice job of answering questions and making recommendations. I enjoyed the salmon, the panzanella salad, and the burrata. Excited to return to try more and enjoy this beautiful space.
You guys should come here, the drinks and the atmosphere are fantastic, Jessie at the bar is great (all their bartenders are) and the food is amazing if you are hungry, but the cocktails alone are worth the trip there. If you work in downtown and you're looking for a place where they will smile and treat you with genuine respect and happiness DRAGO is where I go to get a nice dinner in DTLA.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever encountered. Service was excellent at every level. Cocktails were perfect. Every dish was crafted with care and finesse. Lamb and chicken were both cooked perfectly. Tiramisu is beyond amazing. Every step of the dining experience was perfection.
This restaurant reset my expectations for good Italian food. The pastas were fresh and tender, the sauces delicious and perfectly seasoned, and the cheese board was like a little bit of foodie heaven. Staff was thoughtful, polite, and the whole experience was just amazing. Will definitely return!
Celebrated our anniversary with a dinner here. Ordered two tasting menus, a recommended bottle of Sicilian wine. Every course bursted with flavor, the wine was exceptional. Above all, the service was impeccable, maybe the best I’ve experienced. Worth the price, thanks for helping us celebrate.
Accommodating and courteous staff. We came in craving scallops and were treated to some of the most buttery and succulent scallops I've had in awhile. The dessert was lackluster (I ordered the donut with ice cream and lemon curd and strawberry squares) but the lemon curd was tangy and sweet. We were treated to a small tasting plate. I will definitely be getting a chocolate based dessert next time if that plate is any indication to their other desserts. The tentacles were cooked perfectly in my appetizer. It was the perfect light fare to share at the beginning of our meal. I got to finally cross squid ink off my foods to try. I had a fragrant squid ink pasta with crab. I would definitely have it again. The atmosphere was elegant and comfortable. We were able to walk in and get a table for two early in the evening. Tables filled up well enough, that when I come next time, I will be making a reservation. I look forward to enjoying more of their menu in the future. I will be back.
REMARKABLE ! I was in a rush to find a great Italian place for my anniversary as that is what my gf wanted. I made some calls after doing research but everything was booked. I landed here not knowing much about the place but other than it had good reviews. DRAGO WAS UNBELIEVABLE !!! The service , the atmosphere and the FOOD were ALL EXTRAORDINARY !They even delivered a personalized desert off my online reservation request to my girlfriend's and I delight making it even more of a special evening. I came in a newbie and left a LIFE LONG FAN . I will be returning as often as I can 😊
We had a wonderful evening herethe staff was attentive and genuinely thoughtful, making the whole experience feel special.
i recently visited Drago Centro and was impressed with both the ambiance and the quality of food. The service was attentive without overbearing. The dishes particularly the meatballs were fantastic. the flavors and creativity in the menu made it worth the splurge for a special occasion
This place is one of my favorites! Being across the street it is always our go to after work. Betty, Jaimie and Sam are beyond hospitable and make us feel like family. The food is beyond amazing and their drink list is just as amazing. I highly recommend this place and everyone there!
Beautiful atmosphere and phenomenal experience! Our server was fabulous and took amazing care of our party of 6. He even went the extra mile to bring out a birthday dessert for our 2 birthday girls! The entire staff was more than welcoming and polite and simply amazing.
Sam was great. He gave me the ultimate experience when trying the Bistecco. Di Fianco. Also some nice wine selections. Will definitely come back. Keep it up Sam!
I just had one of the best not just Italian meals in all the times I’ve been to Los Angeles, but, certainly, one of the best meals. I get to LA about once a month and I’m constantly looking for new in different places to eat. Being of Italian ethnicity and growing up in the restaurant business, I am very VERY picky when it comes to Italian food. Everything about my meal was perfect. My server, Mitch, was friendly and attentive. My water glass was never empty, my food was delivered hot and fresh, and a slightly special request was accommodated with pleasantness rather than frustration. The pasta I had (Zuppa Di Mare) was full of vibrant flavor, and the noodles themselves were homemade and cooked perfectly. The portion, although slightly on the smaller side, was still plenty. The real treat, though, was the fresh cannoli for dessert. It was spectacular. If you haven’t eaten at Drago, you owe it to yourself to try it.
Great service, great food and a wonderful bar. This is a gem of a restaurant that you should go to if you are in the area. We have been multiple times and every time it is a great experience. The baby artichokes salad and the grilled peach salads were great. The branzino was very fresh and perfectly cooked. My date has pasta with pheasant and mushrooms and he said it was incredible.
Drago was the perfect place for my friend’s graduation dinner. They have a private room which we rented out for about 30 guests. It fit 5 tables of 6 people. We also had an outside area with heaters and tall tables for mingling. The staff was incredible and amazing service. On top of that the food and drinks were 11/10. We had a preset 4-course menu with two options to pick from for each course. I had the burrata and heirloom salad, wild mushroom risotto, NY steak with fingerling potatoes and broccoli and the tiramisu. The portions were perfect and the taste was incredible. Also had a dirty vodka martini and espresso martini. Both were great! The espresso martini is at the top of my list for best espresso tinis I have had.
I've been to Celestino many times as that is closer to home. I've also been to Drago when it was in Santa Monica (12 years ago). Drago Centro is also a great restaurant with delicious Italian dishes. Great service too. The web site needs to be updated for parking and free shuttle. The parking is valet only, and there is no free shuttle to the local venues.
Drago Centro it’s a must try place. The food. Salads, desserts, cocktails everything it’s amazing. Their quality and freshness it’s outstanding. We had the great pleasure of meeting Jaimie the manager. He guided us through the menu helped us make our selection. Jaimie provided us with excellent customer experience, he made us laugh making our experience memorable. We will definitely be coming back soon, my husband, daughter and I had an amazing experience. Thank you .
We really enjoyed dining at Drago Centro. We had the ahi tuna appetizer (I'll Tonno) which was really good. I had the Garganelli pasta for my main and finished with the Insalata di Mele (salad). They have a great (like really great) wine selection also... Did I mention it was great? Everything was fantastic and I will definitely be going back the next time I'm in L.A.
Great dinner!! Was a little concerned when we walked in. The restaurant was empty. It is in DTLA and we went on Saturday night. Best thing that could happen. Servers were very attentive and we never had to wait for anything. His suggestions were great and he was able to answer all of our questions, including finding a CA wine for me. The rribeye was excellent, but have to say the best thing was the truffle pasta. I highly recommend. The caesar salad was also really good. Finished with a chocolate cake and some Porto. Amazing night. I don't remember the servers name, but I think he was the only working on Saturday 7/12/25. Please relay this review to him
Great experience. Very tasty food and beautiful presentations. We had duck confit risotto and burrata salad which were delicious.
Went here and I had reservations. When I got there and told them I had reservations, immediately got to my table. Food was good and atmosphere was good. Little pricey but overall, great experience.
We had the pleasure dining here. The service was EXCELLENT since the beginning, at arrival, the waitress and everyone who brought our food. We had the Wagyu and the venison, absolutely delicious. The dessert was also outstanding. We had also drinks and wine perfect. I really recommend dining here. I will come back for sure.
I was blown away by my entire experience here at Drago Centro. Even though we came during winter, they had heaters outside so we could sit on their patio. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful the entire time. They had wonderful recommendations and were very knowledgeable about the items on their menu. The salmon dish melted in your mouth because of how fresh both the fish and veggies were. The burrata was also incredibly light and refreshing. Overall, a great experience and I'm hoping I get the chance to come back!
Phenomenal staff and the chef goes above and beyond. If you appreciate Italian cuisine, the food is divine. The Caesar salad appears as if it wouldn’t be filling, but it is and the flavors are great. My brother and I shared calamari w/marinara, cacio e Pepe, and I brought a dish of the garganelli home to my daughter. She is sweet as pie because I fell asleep, and I woke up before she was going to sleep and she came into my room excited to tell me she saved me a few bites because she wanted to me experience the amazing flavor of this pasta. She was not exaggerating and the dish did not disappoint. She said the serving was filling, so I would recommend to go orders. The pasta is made in house, the ingredients taste very fresh, the cocktails are wonderful- I had an amaretto sour and it was one of the best I’ve had. If I didn’t have to drive an hour back home I would have enjoyed more. We parked in a nearby structure and paid $24 for valet service. My photos aren’t great because the ambiance is dim lighting. I can promise the food looks great in person and the taste, even better. It was worth the 1hr drive for me and I would definitely come back.
Overall the service and atmosphere is very good, including the bar and outdoor patio. The food in a good quality I asked to replace the pasta with penne and arugula pesto and turned out very good, tried the wagyu sirloin medium a little bit dry but tasted well, the grilled octopus well marinated with beet and onion puree
I came to Drago Centro for the first time for my 16th birthday dinner back in October with my friends and I had no reservation but that wasn’t an issue because there were still plenty of seats available. I ordered the pheasant pappardelle which was recommended to me by server and it was really good. I was unsure about getting it because of the pheasant but it tasted just like chicken. For dessert, I had a surprise birthday special of mango cheesecake that was on the house which was really nice of them. The servers were very nice and amazing with suggestions, overall customer service was 10/10! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for an Italian restaurant in downtown LA. Food was delicious and the bar has a variety of drinks to choose from.
The service and food was excellent. Ordered the lobster pasta, and was impressive, I would suggest more of a spice to the dish. I added the parmesean cheese and this was a game change: Gave a whole new taste, was the best parm I had ever tasted. The Scallops and mushrooms were my least favorite. Nothing to write about. This was my first experience eating veal, and I don't think I would eat this any other way than how I had it prepared at Drago. Was a memorable taste, and very pleased with the whole experience
I took my parents here for lunch and the decor / vibe is pretty relaxed with an excellent wine cellar that has see through glass. The bar looks pretty cool too, but we took the outdoor seating on a nice sunny but not too hot day. I started off getting a coffee and it was great. I ordered the Caesar salad, soup of the day(Cream Cauliflower), Ravioli di ricotta & the Branzino. The Salad and soup were excellent. The ravioli was great but the best was the Branzino. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I highly recommend that dish. The panna cotta and tiramisu were both great to cap off an excellent lunch! Excellent customer service by staff and our server Jose, complements to the chef too. Just be aware that on site is only valet/self park at indoor garage. On the day I went both are the same price to park, but luckily Drago Centro validates to reduce the price of parking significantly.
Nice restaurant in downtown LA near the opera. I had the pheasant pasta and with a little bit of Parmesan and pepper it was a very good entree. Haven’t been that impressed with pasta in a while. The one wine recommend by the waiter to pair it with was also very good. The tiramisu however was kind of underwhelming - small portion for $14 and overall it wasn’t very great tiramisu and a little bit disappointing after having such good pasta.
The staff were all very nice, the ambiance was great and the outdoor seating area was wonderful. The food and drinks were great as well. This restaurant lacked in the area of service. While they were all very nice and welcoming, they seemed very disorganized and we were waiting for our server the majority of the time we were there. There were only 2 of us dining and we were there for a little over 2 hours. They forgot a drink we ordered in the beginning and we were accidentally charged for it and then they forgot the soup we ordered as well. I do want to emphasize that they were very pleasant about everything but the service needs to improve and they need to improve of their processes/organization. We heard 2 other parties also talking about the lacking service when we were seated and as we were walking out another couple made a comment to us about the bad service as well.
Great ambiance, great sound design, good food, and a large wine selection. This has to be one of the few super nice restaurants I've been to that was clearly busy but when you sit at your table you're not distracted by everybody speaking. I could talk to my friends normally across the table and have them hear me without yelling or screaming. This restaurant has fantastic sound design and that really helps make the dinning experience feel a lot more personal even though you're in the middle of a giant room. Our attentive waiter, the classy ambiance, and fantastic vibe this restaurant has is 5 stars without a doubt. We all ordered pasta while it was really good, cooked to perfection, the overall taste is 3.5 stars. It's delicious, but not good enough to say "Hey, I'm probably going to crave this again." But for the price point I think it is very fair for what you get and you'll be very happy. Pasta dishes ran about $16-$20. They have fancier truffle ones but the normal pasta dishes you won't regret if you do get. What I crave most is just coming back to this place with friends again and having another fantastic dinning experience. Drago is perfect for dinner with friends, a romantic date, or a business outing. It has the most perfect vibe that will make you want to come back to experience again.
Food was fantastic! Services was painfully slow.
Loved it. Low key. Extremely casual, laid back but super chill. Expect good, home cooked, comfort food. We ordered beers, sweet potato tots, spicy fried chicken sandwich AND our awesome waiter convinced us to order dessert :) All the staff is extremely friendly. Highly recommend.
The portions were gourmet, aka small portions for high costs. Though my group was large (at 10 people) and the restaurant was not filled at capacity, the service was surprisingly slow. However, when you got their attention they were great to address any concerns. I ordered the Cioppino which was priced at $33 for several muscles, clams, octopus, calamari, and a small portion of crab mixed with a tomato sauce and side bread. Definitely a great place to impress clients, friends, or loved ones for a meal in this establishment. For parking, there is valet underground and validation offered as well.
The service was excellent. The scallops were the best the group ever had. Drinks were great. The menu prices were on par with the quality of the restaurant. They mentioned their specials for the evening and I chose the ribeye, I didn't know cost of it and it was my fault for not asking- but the check came and the ribeye was $185 which was not even close to the cost of any other food item so it suprised me and I felt swindled. For the price it was good but not worth it.
I love the rib eye here. It is huge and very well done. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because they service isn't always good. When they aren't busy it's amazing and when it is busy people are rather rude and disorganized. The drinks are pretty good but not great. Appetizers are very very good. The fried bread is very good. Good place to go and would recommend it
Attended a fundraiser for Kizuna. Venue is very nice with intimate ambiance. Food was delish and drinks were amazing. Staff was attentive and I felt very special dining in their dining room.
I had a great time dining at Drago Centro. The location is excellent—right in the heart of downtown, with a nice outdoor seating area that’s perfect for a relaxed meal. The atmosphere was clean and inviting, and the staff were all friendly and professional throughout our visit. We started with a delicious appetizer that really set the tone for the meal, followed by the lobster pasta, which was absolutely the highlight—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The steak was decent, but nothing extraordinary. However, the well-curated cocktail menu more than made up for it, offering a great selection of drinks to pair with the meal. Another plus: they validate parking for up to two hours, which is super convenient for a downtown spot.
Celebrated the twins birthday here with family! It was a great vibe! Great food! Semone’ did a great job serving a party of 14. We did have to wait a bit for our food, but overall it was a great experience. We will definitely be going back. Alfonso at the bar makes a wonderful Espresso Martini! Tell him MEL sent you! Hehe
Delicious as always, the wide fettuccine with pheasant was hardy and filling specially with a nice side of grated cheese. The truffle crusted chicken was so good. We had a beet salad that was off menu but really delicious with goat cheese and lots of Knick knacks hidden in the salad. The clams and muscles were delicious. I liked the sauce but someone mentioned to me that they wanted it to be more like broth and this was more tomato sauce based. Cocktails were great I stuck with the aperol spritz the whole night. But high marks on the cuevita and the Paloma was on point. For dessert? Chocolate overload 2022 Great pasta and service, glad some things never change. The host was so accommodating to our anniversary requests tonight, Thursday. Just a few days till 2023
Made a reservation at Drago Centro for 5 p.m. on a Sunday night, but realized it really wasn't neccessary for that time - the restaurant still had plenty of seats available by the time we left around 7. Just a warning: the food portion size is quite small. the taste is quite decadent and quite rich in flavor so the small portions make sense in that if there were more, it might be too overwhelming. their wine selection is huge as well. also, the service here is very attentive
The ambiance is lively and romantic all in one. Drago Centro has excellent and attentive service. Every dish we tried was delicious with the exception of the seafood risotto (risotto is often a hit or miss, and this time it was the latter). Their house made pastas are perfectly executed. The portions are just right (although pricey). We always skipped this restaurant but are glad we finally tried it. It lives up to its rating.
Fine Dining with poor service. We waited 15 minutes before anyone asked us for water. I asked for warm water and the manager made a face saying I can give you room temperature. The manager recommended a cocktail and few minutes later came back saying they are out of the ingredient. Bread basket had to be requested. They double charged us and then tried to cover up the charge........Overall- extremely poor service for a restaurant of this caliber
I believe that peak performances are carefully detailed and meticulous. The food here is always superb and part of the reason I come back over and over. Every dish is made to perfection and although the portions are small they each have their own story to tell - the experience by taste alone is wonderful from start to finish. Where Drago has consistently missed the mark for me is their service. I have given them the benefit of the doubt because I have dined here with big office tables, dinner dates and even family outings. The most recent experience felt that, from the very start, we were a table that was not a high ticket (6+ guests) and therefore was not treated as such. To the untrained eye it may have seemed like I didn't recognize the lower level of client service. However, it is clear to me, as someone who wants to create memorable experiences for my own clients, that I may not trust Drago with a complete wow client experience. A very honest personal opinion. Hats off to the chefs here!
Very upscale looking place, wish the food matched the ambiance and price. Got a pasta dish, flavor was good but pasta itself was dry and crusty, not silky smooth and slippery like freshly cooked and drained pasta should be. Portions are small for all dishes. Service was also very very slow, although I was part of a big group of 20.
Beautiful interior, food was ok. Drinks on point. One problem with this restaurant. It's probably a management issue that they mustn't train their servers to always be attentive of the customers empty wine glasses. Keeping the wine or Champagne glasses at a nice level shows the pride and experience of dining in a upscale restaurant. And by the way, the restaurant was quite empty.
I just googled the bottle of wine I paid $170 suggested by the sommelier costs $33.59!!! With their impressive looking wine storage display at the entrance of the restaurant, and its wine list about 2 dozen pages long - I left it to the sommelier to pick a bottle for me. I just didn't realize their mark up would be this much - ouch!!! Food & ambience is OK.
Nice place. Just understaffed. Service was just poor. Waited hours as large table next to us. We were 6 and it was awkward waiting so long and asking for water or bread. Not one to complain but service was just too slow
The restuarant is situated in a great location if you love architecture, history, and an elevated city experience. The menu had many strong options but the specials are really where the chef shines. The truffle pasta (not pictured) is my favorite and by far the most versatile offering. Classically beautiful with corteous service, the only thing I’d change is the banquet.
Had a business dinner here, very accommodating to changing reservation numbers. Really great food - the most interesting was the octopus (picture attached) which was cooked to perfection. All the other dishes were good but to be expected for a restaurant of this caliber. Removing 2 stars because our server wasn’t the greatest, and disappeared at the end of the meal (I guess because he didn’t have to work for it because of the mandatory 20% tip on large parties) - had to hunt down a bartender to pay my bill. Definitely ruined the experience and would probably not bring other guests here again in the future.
My husband and I came here while we were in town for an event, and also to celebrate our anniversary. This was put in our reservation notes. There was zero acknowledgement of this by the staff. (Why ask then...?) We were sat and then I'm pretty sure they forgot about us. We sat in a corner booth for so long without anyone coming to ask if we wanted an appetizer or something to drink that I started a timer on my phone. Three separate staff members came over to ask us our drink order after about 35 minutes, not knowing we already ordered drinks, but not food. When we did finally get our food, my husband's food was over salted and mine lacked flavor. We watched several tables get sat after us, receive service and food before us, and leave before we'd even gotten to dessert. It took entirely too long for a two person table at a time in which the restaurant wasn't overwhelmed with people. Wine selection was great! Sommelier was personable and explained recommendations well. The stars are for him... and the wine. Overall, super disappointing given the price of everything. I was underwhelmed. We will not be back.
Service from all staff was top notch. However, pretty much the majority of menu items are seafood based or nearly raw beef and duck. The atmosphere is very close quarters with tables placed withing 18-20" of one another and from that it gets quite loud inside. So loud I struggled to hear my date talking to me across the table 2 feet away.
I was seated and no one came for a good 5 minutes and when the server came he just put the menu on the table and walked away didn't say a word he didn't ask if we wanted water a drink noting ,; my wife and l did not feel welcome there by the way when we were seated my waiter was just talking to another server as he saw us waiting . DO NOT GO TO DRAGO !!
Lipstick on the glass, and cold food. Service had an attitude.
Very bad experience, the waiter tried to sell house pasta, which they later billed $87. There was no printed menu to confirm this price. Manager was not even knowing what price they charged but then kept the same for lunch portion of pasta dish. Other on menu were $30-40. Very unprofessional, they must show price card for what they bill.
The worst dining experience. Service was extremely slow, they charged $98 for a tiny bowl of truffle pasta that was their “special” for the day and conveniently the price was not printed on the menu, not to mention their cold bread, their subpar risotto, etc. I had to ask for water refills and servers disappeared for long stretches. Ambience isnt that great either and id rather go to Olive Garden. I will never be back here. Actually I might, just so I can speak with the manager to let him know just how awful this place is
They almost forcibly took our drink order (rushed)outside before we got sat. I asked the opinion of the server for wine. Seemed uneducated about the menu. Once we walked to our table, the host snatched the menu from my hand instead of just asking for it. The server spoke to the table with an attitude right off the bat. Our party of six was taken aback by tone of our serve when all we had were genuine questions. (It was our first time there) He stated that our dinner would be a little lite, but before taking our order he insisted we only got 2 pizzas…. even though we really needed to order more food. He never checked on us our whole stay. The place was so loud you could hear the people sitting shoulder to shoulder with you. We certainly didn’t feel welcome. Especially when we could overhear the section next to us got a more immersive experience with the different server pulling out 4 suggestions of wine for his guests. They were intrigued about his passion for food/wine. He seemed more vibrant. It seemed like a polar opposite our table was experiencing. Thankfully the food was great, unfortunately the service didn’t seem like a priority of standard.
