Great find! Honestly... from the outset it doesn't look amazing 😉....but the food is delicious! The girls up front are super nice and friendly. I got grilled fish tacos and coleslaw. Omg.... sooo good! Packed full of fresh flavors. And hearty portions! The grilled zucchini is a skip...tastes was off. Everything else delicious!
This is my new favorite fish place. It has healthy options and will cook to order. My partner has a low sodium diet, and we ordered grilled red snapper, no salt, and it was delicious. My grilled salmon with angel hair pasta, cooked in olive oil, tomatoes, and extra garlic was absolutely delicious. We also had a fresh green salad and grilled zucchini. Love every bite.
Fish Grill on Pico Blvd in Los Angeles. Really good panko style breaded fish with chips (fries) and cole slaw along with some chips (chips) and salsa to share! Staff were friendly and the food came out fast and hot. Really good lunch stop today!
I had the grilled fish taco plate and it was so good and fresh! Great California fish taco place. Quick service. All around good food.
If you like fish.... If you like amazing tasting fish.... Right here dude. First of all, it's LA baby.! 2nd of all,yo... LA bra' ! Best fish in LA you ask? 2 words. Fish grill
Solid kosher fish the salmon was so fresh and you must get it with the rice pilaf. The chips and salsa works great with the guacamole. Theocratic is perfect and the staff eager to serve. Will come back
Food was top tier, but be prepared for a noisy experience with a children's martial arts school just feet away...
Great food, great prices. Dishes here always feel so healthy, fresh and tasty. The salmon with zucchini is my go to
I always get the mesquite grilled salmon to go, and it is sooo delicious, beautifully cooked and seasoned and always ready on time. I’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommend.
The best salmon burger I’ve had in my whole life!!!
Fish Grill has fresh and delicious Kosher food which is served up either in the restaurant or to go. My wife and I like to order of Cajun skewers, fish soup, grilled baked potatoes, zucchini, and sparking water. We take them on a date to the park, beach, or to the marina. Enjoy!
WOW 😮 The baked potato with the butter was phenomenal! The white sauce (I don't know what it's called) is superb!! And the fish tacos were also good! Thank you Fish Grill 🤤
My husband and I decided on dinner at the Water Grill for our anniversary. Once seated at our table we noticed an anniversary card waiting for us. It was signed by some of the staff. I thought that was a very nice gesture. We started with drinks and bread (The Visionary & Margarita Verde). Both were good but The Visionary was better. Next, we enjoyed the oyster sampler along with Peruvian scallops. I LOVE oysters and they all seemed fresh. For our main dishes, husband ordered salmon and I ordered cioppino. We both really enjoyed our food. It was just enough for us. We both finished our meals but were not over stuffed. Service was great from start to finish. We had a great anniversary dinner. Thank you to the staff and manager for making our night special.
Lovely restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. We were looking for a seafood restaurant and this was within walking distance from our hotel. Loved the atmosphere and service. The seafood was delicious from the oysters to the sushi. Everything was super fresh and very well prepared. The server did an amazing job of walking us through the menu. Would definitely come back.
Dining at Water Grill was an outstanding experience. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, making it ideal for both special occasions and casual nights out. The seafood was impeccably fresh — you could truly taste the quality in every bite. I started with the raw oyster selection, which was briny, sweet, and expertly shucked, followed by a perfectly cooked piece of wild-caught fish that was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was attentive without being intrusive, with staff knowledgeable about both the menu and wine pairings. From start to finish, every detail felt thoughtful and polished. Water Grill is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-tier seafood and exceptional hospitality.
We had an outstanding experience at Water Grill, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing server, Carlos. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, his recommendations made a great meal truly exceptional. We started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, and I can honestly say it was the best crab cake I’ve ever had. The flavor was spot-on, and the texture was perfectly delicate yet rich. It set the tone for an unforgettable meal. Carlos then recommended the Lobster Roll, and it was absolutely phenomenal, something out of this world. The balance of flavors and the creamy, well-seasoned sauce made it a must-try. I’d highly recommend getting this as an appetizer. For our mains, we had the Wild Ross Sea Chilean Sea Bass, another of Carlos’ suggestions. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the fish was cooked to perfection; moist, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also tried the Prime Split-Bone “Cowboy” Ribeye, which was charcoal grilled and packed with flavor. The smoky aroma from the charcoal gave it an extra edge, and the fat was just right, adding richness without being overwhelming. Every bite was juicy, tender, and delicious. Overall, Water Grill exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere elegant yet comfortable, and Carlos’ exceptional service truly made the night. Can’t wait to come back!
Cool atmosphere and a huge seafood menu. I was there at lunch and had clam chowder with a crab cake. The chowder tasted great with whole clams. I prefer a thicker broth however. The crabcake was a generous size and had good taste although the aioli was the best part. Overall a solid lunch.
Visited this location on May 30th for lunch and it did not disappoint! The calamari was delicious! My husband ordered the Shrimp Scampi, my daughter ordered the Wild Ross Sea Chilean Sea Bass and I ordered the Cesar Salad with Charbroiled Shrimp added. EVERYTHING was amazing!!! The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and to top it off our server was amazing as well!!! I’ll definitely be back!!
Water Grill never disappoints! This has quickly become one of our favorite spots, and our recent visit just confirmed why. We ordered the hamachi nachos, crab cakes, fish tacos, lobster, mac & cheese, and filet mignon and every single dish was incredible. The lobsters were especially amazing, perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. A special shoutout to our waitress, Marci, who truly elevated our experience. She gave fantastic recommendations on the oysters and went above and beyond to accommodate my son’s food allergies, which we deeply appreciated. Her knowledge, warmth, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely taken care of. Delicious food, exceptional service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Water Grill continues to be a standout every time we go. Highly recommend!
Great food. They have locations all over. I've been to this one, Santa Monica, San Diego and they're all great. They have some great oysters from the East Coast. And they're lobster rolls are great. Fish and chips are good too. But the star of the show is their bread. Definitely recommend checking these guys out.
It was my first time here. I didn't have reservations, but that wasn't a problem. The manager accommodated us in less than five minutes. The chef came and introduced himself, and it made us feel very special. Everything was top-notch. The wine, the oysters, our steak. Our server, Kat, was so attentive, professional, and fast. We loved it. I'm definitely coming back. Highly, highly recommended.
Very tasty food and friendly staff. You may have to clean your own table.
Ordered online. Food arrived on time. Failed to include disposable cutlery even though it was requested.
Used to be quite good. Recently, however, the Pico location is significantly lower in quality than the original Beverly location. Portions seem smaller, the fish is under-seasoned, and the attention to detail just seems a little off. Giving the place 4 stars because there have been times where I’ve had some really good meals out here. Sadly, that hasn’t been my recent experience. Hoping it may have just been a few off days... Considering that the Beverly location isn’t too far, it may be a better call. However there’s Good parking, and the food comes out fast!
Water Grill on Grand in Los Angeles is a top spot for fresh seafood and a nice dining atmosphere. They offer a big variety of dishes, and the king crab stands out as delicious, although very expensive. Service is excellent, with attentive and courteous staff. A great choice for a special night out.
Had a good time and enjoyed service, but the food is meh. Went here a few times for business dinners. If you enjoy company and service, and you’re gonna stick to the basic food (oysters and seafood boils) then this is good. One of the freshest seafood, outstanding service (the one driving most of the review), lively atmosphere. But if you’re going there for good cooked fish in entrees, not the place. The proportions of salt and pepper are off, the spices and seasonings don’t mash, it’s overly greasy, and leaves a bitter aftertaste (tried their sea bass, swordfish and sablefish). My recommendation… stick to the raw bar, crustaceans, and whole grilled fish. For the price and hype, there are better places to enjoy seafood.
Seafood fine dining spot with multiple locations. Came here for dinner with my family on a weeknight before a concert and we had made a reservation online in advance. I got lucky finding a spot on the street but you might need to search for a bit or go with a paid lot. We had the calamari to share as an app; this was nicely crispy and paired well with the sauces they provided. We had an organic mixed greens salad (gotta be healthy) and they provided warm rolls with flaky salt and butter (loved that). I had the Trojan roll and the bluefin toro tartare but I may had been too ambitious after the apps ordered. Both were delicious but one would have sufficed for a meal. My dad had the soft shell crab and my sister had the lobster roll; I particularly liked the buttery roll used. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake which came with a side of ice cream. It was small but thick and rich, so the three of us easily shared it. Our waiter was super friendly and on top of things. There was an altercation with an unhoused individual who came in but security was on the premises and de-escalated the situation. Overall, a great meal for special occasions or business.
Parking- $5 Validated valet parking for 2 hrs for PacMutual Building Nice restaurant with a nautical theme. Server was nice but a little difficult to get their attention sometimes. Highlight of the meal was the Farmed Whales Cove Mussel Garbanzo- the sauce was absolutely delicious with harissa and pancetta. The bluefin tuna poke was also good as well as the Chilean Sea Bass. The wild halibut cheeks were dry but the sauce was tasty. For the seafood entrees, you’re able to switch the fish with the accouterments they come with- we enjoyed the recommend cauliflower puree with candies hazelnuts however. The halibut was a little dry, the blue fin tuna was ok, would pass on the shrimp scampi (not very flavorful), and the cowboy ribeye was under salted. The roasted Brussels sprouts were unfortunately more soggy than crispy and the mac and cheese needed more salt as well as acid to make the flavor pop more. For dessert, I personally would skip on the chocolate ganache as it is a block of semisweet chocolate ganache which is rather one note flavor and texture wise. The key lime meringue pie was a good balance of tart and sweet with a good crumbly crust. The cookie pizza with ice cream was good. I would come back here for the mussels and if I wanted Chilean sea bass. Otherwise I would consider visiting a different restaurant.
We had a good time at Water Grill overall. Front desk was very nice. I came back specifically for the oysters. This time I also got the Mexican White Bass, which was fresh and flavorful. My fiancé ordered the 12 oz filet mignon with Yukon gold potatoes and was happy. My mother in law had the Chilean seabass with gnocchi: the gnocchi was excellent and the fish had a great sear, though the inside was undercooked. To their credit, the staff handled it quickly and professionally by taking it off the bill. Service was a bit slow, likely due to being slightly understaffed and booked solid, but our waitress was kind and as attentive as she could be. The maple cheesecake hit the spot, and they surprised us with an extra dessert for my fiancé’s birthday, which was a lovely touch. A few hiccups, but still a decent experience and worth the return trip!
Elegant, chic and professionally service standart restaurant . We liked it a lot. Especially their price were really reasonable in considering this level of elegant restaurant. Thank you very much for the nice evening Water Grill. Please keep up the good work and be a sample for others.
I’ve tried Fish Grill location in Malibu… you simply can not compare this location with that; both locations were not clean at all but the food in Malibu was much tastier than this location. Quite disappointing!!
These review must be fake or given by friends. I don’t even have a super high bar for food. But I feel embarrassed that I made my partner eat here based on the rating. I essentially spent $45 on mediocre picnic food for 2 people. The food tasted like nothing. The whole time I wished for microwaved food, McDonalds - things I don’t even eat - ANYTHING would taste better than this. I really should have just given it back. The place is not clean as well, and there were no clean tables to sit at. Cashier acted like we were an inconvenience to her. I want to be nice but I genuinely have nothing positive to say :( Hopefully management sees this and comes up with some improvements.
This place is horrible. not only was the food disgusting and overpriced, I found a literal staple in my coleslaw lol If you’re looking to pay $22 for the worst fish and chips you’ve ever had in your life, this is the spot. the ratio of fish to fries was so off - was more like fries with a side of fish. fries also were dry as cardboard. was not edible Neither were the grilled fish tacos, wow. Actually everything we ordered was bad except for the coleslaw which was just okay, but then I bit into a staple and some paper?
Recent reviews suggested the food was “fresh”. Friendly service. Well my - and my guest’s experience- was completely opposite. We both concluded that the fish had been defrosted, that the fries had been nuked to the point that they were so overcooked you could crack a tooth. Add a disinterested group of teenagers at front office, grubby tables (no wipe down after people have eaten?) - and I have to conclude that we should have gone to a fast food chain who “does fish”. The food could only have been better / the fries passable and the price easier to digest.
The food is gross. 10 years or so ago this used to be a weekly go to for my family and I. They used to have the best fries!!! It was delicious! What happened?? $60.00 for food that all tastes like old oil. It’s bad guys.
