This spot is popular for good reason. The pastries are delicious. The shop is small and only allows 8 people inside to wait at a time, so there is often a line outside. The line moved quickly for us…despite the fact that the staff inside are perfectly willing to answer questions about their products as we decided. We didn’t feel rushed. They also offer coffee, but it may be more of an afterthought as their outside menu only lists the pastries. Overall, a gem.

Soooo delicious! Reminds me of Parisian bakeries with the charm, and quality & freshness of the pastries. And the croissants are incredible. Went on a Sunday and the wait wasn’t bad at all. The line moves quickly and they replenish the pastries often.

date of visit: 6/1/2025 (Sunday) Arrived at 8:55 AM and there were about 10–15 people already in line. The store opened right on time at 9:00 AM, and I placed my order by 9:09 AM. I received my pastries immediately, but the coffee took a bit longer—around 9:22 AM—since there was only one person handling drink orders. Overall, the wait wasn’t bad at all. I had expected to be in line for at least 30 minutes, but the process moved quicker than expected. The coffee wait was the only slight delay. The initial hype seems to have settled a bit compared to a few months ago, but honestly, this place is still absolutely worth both the buzz and the wait.

I finally made it out here for their well-known croissants and pastries, and I have to say it lived up to all my expectations and more. Croissant was the perfect amount of flakiness, yeasty taste, buttery goodness, and crispy layers. I like the plain over the chocolate, and I also got the yuzu flavor pastry which was so good as well. Despite the long line, I still got to order within 20 minutes. I'd come back if I have a chance again to stop by within the window of times they're open haha.

Some of the best pastries in LA for sure but you’ll be waiting in line before you can place your order. Somehow even after being open for over a year, the lines are super long, especially on the weekend. They have a 3 croissant limit per person, but you can add cookies and other baked goods on top of your laminated pastries. My favorite pastries are the mustard sausage roll and the kouign amann. The matcha here is just okay but the coffee is really strong! There’s a small lot but it’s usually full, so street parking is the main option here.

Worth. The. Hype. We got here Saturday morning at 8:30am and got to the front of the line at 9:30am. The cashier said they’ve been selling out closer to 11:30. Every single pastry was delightful and my matcha latte was great as well! Limit 3 per person. The smashed croissant was the most unique. Like a croissant cookie, so crispy. My favorite was ham and Gruyère, tied for second were the French onion danish and mushroom. The sweet ones were so lovely and different too! Love a good yuzu flavor.

Love their pistachio croissant and breakfast croissant. I got there at 8:40am and I was 4th in line, then the line got much longer around 9am so I suggest get there early. Latte is tasty as well. It’s pricey though.

An incredible bakery here in Los Angeles. A no brainer if you are in or near the area. Current limit of 3 laminated pastries per person but totally worth it as you can tell how much work and attention goes into each pastry. Each pastry was incredible.

- came around 10 am on a Saturday morning, line wasn’t too long and moves fast - no longer have a limit of 3 items per person which is great so I can buy a bunch all at once - decent amount of seatings available to enjoy right away - 5-10 parking spots at the plaza and there’s neighborhood parking around - staffs were friendly

Went on a Wednesday morning and they were already crowded. Got a variety of pastries that all tasted great, especially the mushroom danish. Has a seating area to the side, but they closed around 12 as they were sold out

A great find. We went here because my boyfriend had found this online and wanted to try out their pastries, which is what they are known for. We came in, a small line not big thing, and when it came time to order, the person behind the counter said it was 3 per person. We ordered coffee as well, and it was delicious. I loved the yuzu merengue croiffin!!

The buzz did not lie, this place is the real deal. We got there at 9:10a on the weekend and probably spent 20 mins waiting in line. Which is conveniently the perfect amount of time to suddenly get indecisive about what you want yet manage to figure it out right before having to order. We tried the french onion danish, mushroom béchamel danish, ham & gruyère croissant, mustard sausage roll, and almond croissant. I’d rank the almond croissant and french onion danish at the top. My only feedback would be that the mustard sausage roll could use a little more mustard but maybe that’s just me. I got an oat milk latte as well which had great flavor from the espresso they use. In retrospect, not surprising now that I know the owners also have two coffee shops. :) So all in all, don’t let the line scare you away because they clearly know what they are doing here!

Worth the hype! Especially, pistachio cream danish! On top of that, they’re able to keep our bag that we forgot since we’re very satisfied with great pastry and left our mind and bag there 😂 Thanks again for your great baked bakery and service 🫶🫶🫶

After seeing Fondry on Ifatuation LA's top 10 croissants list, we had to stop by. Sadly the day we did, they didn't have croissants because, according to staff, the croissants weren't "up to their standards". That's actually a great reason and fantastic response so we aren't even mad. We showed up about 30 minutes before opening and there was about 50 people ahead of us, with the line still growing behind us. Staff inside is so respectful and kind, something you rarely ever see in LA. We went with a variety of items: Almond croissant - crispy outside with soft interior. We weren't big fans of the almond paste, it was a bit too loose and sweet. Pistachio - the pastry was so crispy and they definitely use real pistachios because the cream tasted just like pistachios. Kouign Amman - crunchy and flaky layers, the flavor wasn't as good as some others I have had but the build execution was on point. Pain suiss - this was the crunchiest/flakiest of all, light coffee flavor and chewy interior. Overall, everything was done well and we will return to try those croissants!

Came around noon, and everything was sold out. The only thing that was cooling down was the sesame tart, so we got one. Pastries was good. I would definitely go for the pastries. However, their drinks could definitely use some working on. Cortado was too bitter with their espresso/ beans, and match raspberry was watered down. Could tell matcha was not of high quality but the concept is a good idea. If you're coming here, definitely try the pastries... If they're not sold out. 😁

I completely channeled my inner Justine Huang to get a pastry on my run in Highland Park and my friend recommended I try the apple pastry from Fondry! It was not too sweet but I felt there was kind of a dry crunch? Not the driest pastries I’ve ever had, though, and I’d be willing to come back to try more. They were sold out of the kouign amann by noon on a Sunday but the line wasn’t bad.

High quality pastries with a bit of a wait. We arrived a bit before 9am and were 8th-10th group in line. Highlight is the Bakers Breakfast pastry for sure (the one with the egg on top). I also love a flat croissant when a bakery offers one. So would recommend for a unique take a croissant that stays well. The yuzu merengue cruffin - I had high expectations but something missed the mark. It’s still a delicious pastry though! Overall would visit if you’re in the area.

On a week-day around 9am we were surprised to see how many people were already in line. I was not a huge fan of their pistachio Danish, as it didn’t taste fresh. Their classic butter croissant on the other hand was perfect! Everything there was pricey, but that is expected. The matcha was also very tasty and good quality.

We waited around 40+ minutes around 10:30am on a Sunday. We were lucky to get the last of most of their pastries- although the ham & cheese & the presse were out. There’s some shade while waiting but it’s definitely hot out. I actually liked their regular croissant the best which was surprising! Don’t know if I’ll wait in line again, but definitely nice to try.

Saw a lot of hype about this place online. Small place with very flakey and well-made pastries. Go on a weekday if possible, and you won't have to deal with a line. The pastries were expensive, and my total for 4 pastries and a drink was $38. The HK milk tea with coconut was amazing!

J
Jeremiah Larson

Very pretty pastry and fun to look at, however, I fear Fondry struggles with consistency and technique, where the standard butter croissant is often underproofed, causing the outer layers to split from the denser, under-risen core.
