Kabuki is a popular Japanese chain known for its happy hour, ramen, and sushi. Many reviewers praise the attentive service, especially mentioning servers Marcos, Kayla and Brittany. Some find the miso soup too salty and the location hard to find.

What a great meal they had set up for valentine special! Had to note that because me and some great friends walked into that last night and it was fantastic. All their options were great but this valentine pick was fantastic 🙌 Faves: Appetizers : Asparagus is tasty sauce Calamari with yummy sauces The yummy special was a combo sushi 🍱, sashimi, delicate fruits , tasty treats and yummy oysters 🦪 wooowwww We also got a seafood noodle dish that was to die for. The vibe was fantastic and the staff gave us a wonderful service. Thank you Kabuki and team 🙌
I’m not sure if I was just extremely hungry or this place was just that amazing. Definitely gonna have to go back to eat again and would definitely recommend. My Server was Kayla and she was awesome. 👍
Kabuki never disappoints! The food is always on point — fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying every time. The vibe is relaxed, the service is friendly, and everything just feels smooth from start to finish. Whether it’s sushi, rolls, or hot dishes, they always deliver. One of my go-to spots for a great meal!
I'd been eyeing this place for a while now and am glad I finally had the chance to stop by for lunch today. I came in around 12 PM on a Wednesday and the restaurant was almost completely empty. I was asked if I prefer bar or booth and then promptly seated at the booth of my choice. The restaurant was homey, clean, and well-lit. I ordered a hot water and the teriyaki chicken lunch special, which comes with soup and salad. My waitress Janelle was super sweet and accommodating to my many requests for sauces and seasonings. The meal was good, not great, as the chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. I'm giving this place 5 stars for the quick service, friendly staff, and calming atmosphere. I would definitely come back! :)
Guilty of having recently eaten dinner here two nights in a row - tasteful food and pretty decent happy hour pricing menu at this location. Had the pleasure of being served by Marcos and Kayla, both were very courteous and professional. Marcos was earnest and Kayla personable - lovely experience both times! Will be back again for the promoted, delicious Korean Fried Chicken soon enough 🤤
I was hoping this place would still be open after the last few years. It’s been a minute since the last time I ate here. The server was so sweet and helpful explaining what a few items were. Oh, and the Host was extremely welcoming, as well as the gentleman who played musical chairs with us about our seating preference 😆 The Japanese whiskey drink (can’t remember what it was called) was pretty satisfying and their Happy hour (3-6:00) made our last minute dining experience even better! The fish was VERY FRESH, I have to say.. everything was 👍🏻 🏆
Surprisingly better than I expected, haha. Either that or I had very low expectations. Their rolls aren’t bad. I had the Kabuki roll and Spider Roll. We also got a spicy miso ramen (note: this ramen doesn’t come with any meat, might be vegetarian?) but it’s still very flavorful and fulfilling!
I'm a regular here and very much enjoy this local sushi option that I can walk to. One ⭐ removed because I miss the yellowtail collar that used to be on the happy hour menu. I'm also a bit put off by the staff being forced to yell the "Irasshaimase" greeting each time a new customer comes in, and wish they would stop making the staff do that.
Kabuki Sushi nearly killed me in the most delicious way possible. I ordered three rolls, no big deal, right? Then they arrived. These weren’t sushi rolls, they were seafood burritos. Absolute units. I’m sitting there alone, trying to shove them into my mouth like I’m competing in the world’s least sexy eating contest. Rice flying, soy sauce dripping, pieces collapsing like a Jenga tower made of salmon. I looked like I’d never used chopsticks before in my life. But holy hell, every bite was perfection. Happy hour? Elite. Staff? So nice they pretended not to notice I was publicly falling apart.
Coming back here gave me flashbacks as to why I came here regularly when living in the Howard Hughes area. They have amazing Japanese food, friendly service, cozy spaces and just great overall dining experience. When I used to come here, I would always get their ika geso kaarage, but I believe they have been discontinued (bummer 🥲)? Anyhow, I didn't order the Chilean Sea Bass and they are amazing, so give that a try! Well, let's move on to the ones I actually ordered: Curry ramen, chicken fried rice and calamari rings. Curry ramen was delicious, I just wish their noodle can be less soft, so I don't feel like eating soggy noodles. As for their fried rice, they just live up to Japanese fried rice standards (Japanese seem to always make the best fried rice). 👌 Calamari rings? Well, let's just say I prefer their squid legs. As for their fried California rolls, I love every single bite of it. Out of all these that I mentioned, the only one I think you should skip is the calamari rings. Overall, I enjoy the ambience and experience in this restaurant so I would recommend to sushi lovers to try out this restaurant 🍙
Restaurant Review – First Visit in LA It was our first time in LA, and we stumbled upon this spot for a casual Tuesday night dinner. Overall, it was an okay experience. We started with the spicy garlic edamame – decent flavor, but it could’ve used just a touch more salt to bring it to life. I ordered the **pork belly fried rice**, expecting something a bit more flavorful and rich. It wasn’t bad, just a little underwhelming and not quite what I envisioned. Our son tried the chicken teriyaki, but unfortunately, he wasn’t a fan of the sauce—it didn’t have that classic teriyaki flavor we’re used to. The highlight of the night was definitely the kimchi beef yakisoba noodles– packed with flavor and a great balance of spice and savory. That dish really stood out. Overall, not a bad stop for a quick bite, but not sure we’d go out of our way to return. Still, glad we gave it a try.
I was very excited to come here with my sister for lunch. The food was good and it wasn’t too busy. I was really upset at the end by our server, Britany D. She did not check on our for over 40 minutes. I had to ask multiple times for things and keep reminding her. Then, I watched our food sit in the window for almost 10 minutes until someone else finally brought it to us. The other servers were attentive to their tables and clearly the kitchen was not backed up. She clearly forgot about us and did not care about our table. It was really upsetting I couldn’t believe it as someone who also works in a restaurant.
Japanese restaurant in the Howard Hughes Center. There was no wait on a Sunday, overall pretty quiet. They have a happy hour menu for every day of the week. Family ordered an assortment of lunch specials, kids meals, and nigiri. Beef Sukiyaki was one of the better dishes we ordered. Nice presentation and Sushi was average. Nothing special to write about. Kids meals were exceptional, they loved the sushi combo. Restaurant does not validate parking in the underground parking garage. *Note: the pictures show the food after most people took a bite.
I had high hopes for this restaurant because we used to like them for our japanese food. In my opinion this time the food was bland. We ordered the pork belly mini plate, garlic edamame, and ginseng ramen. The taste was a tad bit short. Plus the restaurant was hard to find from the parking lot.
