Such a beautiful and whimsical spot, I’ve been wanting to come here for so long and it did not disappoint. We came for dinner and ordered the chicken panini, bolognese pasta, truffle fries, and the cheeseburger, and everything was so good. Portions were great and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. For drinks, we had the espresso martini and strawberry margarita, which were both really good and well-balanced. The ambiance is super cute and cozy, perfect for a breakfast date, dinner date, or even just catching up with friends. Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience was lovely. So glad I finally got to try this place. Will definitely be back.
The Ladybird Café is truly a gem. No matter the weather—whether it’s raining outside or the temperature is freezing—this place radiates warmth and makes the entire day feel like sunshine. The garden and the flowers create a breathtaking setting, making it the perfect spot for photos. My friend and I found ourselves not wanting to leave after our delightful brunch. The menu offers many vegan options, and although the day we visited they were out of several dishes and most juices, we still enjoyed the vegan meals that were available. The food was delicious and satisfying. Overall, the beautiful atmosphere and the cozy ambiance make it a place I would definitely return to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm and inviting spot.
Lady Bird Cafe delivered such a perfect lunch that I’m still thinking about it. The food was fresh, flavorful, and plated with the kind of care that makes you pause before taking that first bite. And the view wow. It’s the kind of backdrop that makes a simple lunch feel like a mini getaway. Friendly service, great vibes, and a spot I’d happily return to for another relaxing midday escape.
My sister and I stopped by Lady Byrd Café for lunch, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of charm. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel comfortable and welcome. We shared the Alfredo pasta and the chicken club sandwich, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in their food. We paired our meal with a hot chocolate and a Mexican Coke, which made the whole lunch feel cozy and complete. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly and attentive, creating such a positive and relaxed vibe. It’s rare to find a place that gets both the food and the hospitality so right. Lady Byrd Café truly deserves all the praise it gets. Delicious food, lovely people, and a beautiful setting. We can’t wait to come back!
I guess that place is recently renewed. I was hesitant before going. All the reviews I can find online were back to 2023. And some of them complain about the hot weather for the outdoor seating. But when we’re here, we find all outdoor seats are covered by flowers (fake flowers tho lol), not hot at all! And food is surprisingly good! Definitely highly recommend. They also provide a “brunch buffet”. you don’t need to order one for each person. We 2 girls ordered one brunch buffet and another dish, plus 2 drinks. Good amount for us.
🌿 Lady Bird Café – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the City Tucked away on a sun-dappled corner, Lady Bird Café feels like stepping into a Wes Anderson film—whimsical, warm, and effortlessly charming. I stopped in for a late brunch and was instantly smitten by the garden patio, where string lights and climbing vines set the mood. The lemon 🍋 poppy seed pancakes were cloud-like perfection, with a citrus zing that danced on the palate. Paired with their house-made lavender latte (yes, it’s as dreamy as it sounds), it was a brunch worth writing home about. Service was attentive but never intrusive—friendly staff who actually seem to love being there. Bonus points for the curated playlist that made lingering feel like a must. Whether you’re catching up with friends or flying solo with a book, Lady Bird Café is the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer....
Cute brunch spot and they made it so cozy for fall with private outdoor seating and blankets! This is a cute hidden gem in Echo Park with a fairly diverse menu. We ordered their Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes, Spanish Frittata, and Pork Benedict. Their hot tea set was a perfect complement to the meal! And so cute and whimsical. Parking is street parking which wasn’t too hard to find during lunch time when we went. My only wish was full service and not having to order at the counter but it wasn’t a complete deal breaker. Our server still took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Would be nice to come back and try their dinner menu and ambiance!
Update: January 2026 I have been back here a few times since my first visit. It’s a fabulous outdoor cafe. They’ve updated the decor and menus since then which is more beautiful. Honey Yogurt $12 Beautiful presentation! Loved it! Steak & Eggs $28 Served with choice of bread, blueberry jam and butter & Pamolona potatoes Smoked Brisket Pastrami $22 Thinly sliced brisket. One of my favorites! Beef Burger $23 Made with Grass fed beef. Added a sunny side egg to make it a brunch burger. Latte $7 Customer Service is wonderful!! *********** Lady Byrd Cafe can be found in an Echo Park neighborhood. I had to go back and forth to find it. It’s a little hidden. Parking is on the street and can be difficult to find since it’s in a neighborhood. When we first got there, it was charming and inviting. There’s flowers and plants everywhere with tables and seating areas throughout. There are outdoor cabanas and outdoor covered patios. It could use some more fresh flowers and plants, new menus and cleaner table cloths. These are easily fixed. Overall, it is a cute cafe, great for a date or with a group! It can get pretty busy so note that you may have a long wait. Nevan had friendly and wonderful customer service!! The staff that we encountered were very nice and helpful. The tea service was delightful as they set a beautiful vintage tea set on the table!! They offer mimosas, sangria, wine and coffee as well. The Smoked Brisket Pastrami was my FAVORITE!! I could not stop eating this saying I really like this!! It was my kind of sandwich!! It was both of our favorites! Loved the smoked brisket pastrami, from the flavor and how tender it was! The artisan bread was perfect for this sandwich!! It was crispy and held up. This is definitely a sandwich I would get again! The Pork Benedict has tender, house braised pulled pork topped on top of brioche bread. We weren’t a fan of the brioche, which was too soft. I did love the poached egg on top. I would have liked more hollandaise sauce on top. The Grilled Cheese was a little unique with tomato inside. Loved the artesian bread they used. Very Crispy on the outside and cheesy in the middle. The side salad was very tasty; certainly tastier than the fries. The French Toast looked really pretty. Loved the strawberries and honey cream!! I would have liked the bread to be crispier than just being soft.
This is a charming, pretty and very Instagrammable spot perfect for brunch! The ambiance is so cozy, and the seating is nice and inviting. We had steak and egg and egg benedict. They’re very good. The hot drinks are good too. Restroom was also decorated very well. It’s hidden in a little street Echo Park in LA. Free street parking is quite easy to find when we went in the morning.
Love this place a lot! Place has a beautiful aesthetic! We sat inside a little tent, which was super cute! 😍 #aesthetic #tent Ordered the earl gray tea with the pot! Tasted amazing! ☕️ Food I ordered their fried egg sandwich which comes with bacon & some potatoes! Super basic but delicious 😋 #foodie #sandwich Coming back for sure! #highlyrecommended
This cafe is a niche venue not much widely known. It’s tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Warm ambiance and diverse menu. We were a group of three, we ordered a heavenly dessert pancake, a mouthwatering chicken with pesto sandwich, and savory red meatballs spaghetti. This hidden oasis exceeded our expectations. Easy parking in the serene neighborhood, making the overall experience hassle-free. Lady Byrd Cafe is a must-visit.
Located in Echo Park, you can find the lovely Lady Byrd Cafe, well known for its charming outdoor seating! As we’re in the thick of the holiday season, they have decorated with quirky little knick-knacks, poinsettias, and christmas trees! My sister and I headed here for brunch and had some delicious food. The ambiance created by the private outdoor seating, decor, and friendly service made this whole experience super enjoyable! What we ordered: - Creamy Shrimp Pasta - Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict - Bacon Burrito
Wonderful experience at Lady Byrd Cafe! The food and atmosphere were fantastic. Loved the green juice I ordered. Classic Benedict was also delicious! Would recommend this restaurant as a great place to “work from home”. All seating is nicely shaded. A few guests had their laptops!
First time ever in LA and this place is most definitely the #1 spot I will miss. The atmosphere was beyond amazing and a complete contrast to what I'm used to on the East Coast. Loved the mellow and relaxed vibes that comes from eating here. From the music down to the blankets that are provided to keep yourself warm. By far the best Chai I've ever had and I appreciated the variety of alternative milk. The food was very flavorful but not overwhelming or heavy which is rare. The staff were very nice, helpful, and overall a pleasure to know! If I ever go back to LA I will absolutely return here for a meal!
Amazing brunch!!! Loved the decor! Great service!! Spanish frittata!! Scrambled eggs, pamplona chorizo, fresno peppers, potatoes, caramelized onion & gruyere cheese!! Delicious!! Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes 2 lemon ricotta pancakes, home-made jam, whipped cream & honey!!! Yummy!! Highly recommend!!!
I'm really confused how this place only has 3.9 stars, I was really shocked to see it, especially having a wonderful experience here. Sometimes people just like to find reasons to complain about anything. Especially some of the other reviews about Valentine's Day that I saw. I mean, What do you expect? It's Valentine's Day so of course they're going to be busy wall-to-wall with people. This place's aesthetic is really romantic and inviting, so without a doubt people want to be here especially on certain holidays. Date night or a brunch date is a must here, and the beautiful thing about it is their dishes are reasonably priced. $100 will go a long way here and it did for us. We came at night to enjoy everything. We enjoyed a couple of margaritas and martinis, snacked on some appetizers. I recommend the hummus and pita for starters and pork and cheese croquettes. But for dinner, we enjoyed their Lady Byrd cheeseburger and creamy shrimp pasta, which really had a nice kick to it. Everything was delicious. This is one of those true hidden gem LA spots and I definitely do want to come back here for brunch next time and will look forward to it.
We ate at Lady Byrd Cafe for a brunch date and it was such a great experience. Even though this place is famous for the greenhouses, we actually sat closer to the bar area, and the vibe was still so charming and full of that "secret garden" feel. It’s located in Echo Park and just has a really cool, welcoming atmosphere. We decided to do the $33 brunch special, which is honestly a steal for how much you get. I chose the Salmon Benedict for my main—the spicy hollandaise was perfect. It also came with silver dollar lemon poppyseed pancakes and French toast with honey cream and strawberries. That blueberry jam on the pancakes was delicious! My husband went with the grass-fed beef burger, which was really fresh with the Lady Byrd aioli, and we also shared the Fettuccine Alfredo. It had chicken and asparagus in a really creamy white sauce definitely glad we added that on. To drink, we had a Chai Latte and a Macchiato, which were both so refreshing. The staff was super friendly, and even sitting by the bar, we had a great view of the whole sun-drenched patio. It’s a perfect spot for a slow morning date; we’ll definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I visited Lady Byrd last Friday morning on the 4th of July. We were able to get seated right away and everything there is gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My boyfriend really enjoyed his food and I thought everything tasted fine. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed their side salad. To me the chicken pesto sandwich was a bit plain. I really wanted to love this place especially for the price of the food but to me it was just okay.
Lady Bird Cafe is small and cute in designed. I ordered Salmon Benedict came with potatoes and it was yummy. I also ordered a cappucino - it was dark not sweet at all. Customer service was great; within minutes of placing our order our food was ready. Overall, it was a good spot to have brunch, it is pricey in my opinion for the small portions they serve.
Date night in LA! I've seen this spot all over social media, so I really wanted to try this spot. They're most popular for brunch, but we visited during dinner. Parking: Every man for themselves lmao. Free street parking, but finding a spot was difficult. We parked down the street and walked over. Ambiance/Environment: Such a cute spot with lovely floral decor, bright lights, and comfortable seating. This spot is outdoors with roof coverings and heaters. When we visited, the place was decorated with butterflies, plants, & flowers. We visited at 18:30, and it wasn't busy. Just a few other groups. Service: We were greeted by a hostess and seated immediately. Our server, Alex, took care of us. We were told they only had beer & wine during that time which bummed me out because I really wanted to try their cocktails and coffee. Throughput was quick after ordering though. Food: 1) Short Ribs - The short ribs cut so easily, and it was mouthwatering. It was cooked medium rare, and the red wine sauce made it more flavorful. I mixed it with the mash potatoes too. 2) Creamy Shrimp Pasta - These were definitely creamy. Make sure you mix it well! It was served with peeled, baby shrimps. Just wished there were more shrimps. 3) Hummus & Pita - My bf loved this! The pita was toasted well, and the hummus had notes of citrus and garlic flavors. 4) Grilled Napa Cabbage - This was a simple, light appetizer. Pricing: This is LA, so of course prices are $$$. We enjoyed their dinner options. Wished they served more alcoholic drinks during dinner time. We'll be back to try their brunch options.
Beautiful charming space, friendly service, solid food. Lots of heaters and blankets. Food was good but you’re mostly coming here for the atmosphere. I had a pastrami sandwich and added an egg. I would get it again but there wasn’t much pastrami on it. The shoestring fries were delicious. Everything was fresh and high quality. My boyfriend got a vegan sausage bowl that was tasty but not quite a home run, again this is an atmosphere spot. We will come back and try other dishes. Also we came around 3:30pm on a Sunday and it was nice and empty. We had the spot to ourselves. Having our own little table side fireplace was perfect. Great spot for date night or girl time. It’s in a residential neighborhood so parking might be tough during peak hours. And to the girls who dined and dashed while we were here: Shame on you!
Aesthetic garden party-esque spot that has private greenhouses for seating. The seating had blankets and though the greenhouse was a bit cramped, it was a fun experience. Came here with a friend for brunch and we had a reservation, but we arrived early and they were able to seat us. We had the French toast to split and I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict while my friend got the breakfast plate. The Benedict came with a side of potatoes and the food was decent. The French toast was on the sweet side but the food overall looked very aesthetic (particularly the heart shaped sauce ramekins). Service was very slow and we had to ask three different people to get one water refill. To be fair, they were busy and the restaurant was full. Credit cards accepted. Indoor seating is also available as well as bar seating. Single occupant restroom in the back but note you need to pull the string in order to flush the toilet.
🌿🕯️ Lady Byrd Café – Los Angeles, CA 🕯️🌿 Such a dreamy and cozy spot ✨🍽️! I had a beautiful candlelit dinner in my own private greenhouse 🪴🏡 — it felt so intimate and magical. The food was delicious 😋🍷, and the warm glow of the lights made the whole experience even more special 🕯️💖. Perfect for a romantic night out 💑 or a unique dining experience with friends 🥂. Definitely one of LA’s most charming hidden gems! 🌟
Super cute café! It's like eating in an eclectic garden. Our server was very attentive, nice and our food came fast. We had poppy seed pancakes with blueberries and honey cream topping, it was delicious. The only thing we both mentioned was the portion size of the side orders (bacon and avocado). We found them to be very small. We ordered additional because everything tastes so great, but we were a bit surprised at that. We had a wonderful time regardless. Oh, the vintage teacups and plates were also beautiful and fit perfectly into the entire vibe.
When I was seated around 2pm there were only 2 other tables occupied. The back patio area is very cute! I ordered a cortado and the salmon benedict - both came out quickly and were very tasty. Would recommend and return.
Cute little spot in a residential area. Loved the decor, chairs with blankets, different "grandma-esque" plates, and little glass huts to divide the parties. Very whimsical. Service was okay, took a while to get order in and drinks came after the food. Food was also just okay. I got the fried egg sandwich and the aioli overpowered everything. Couldn't enjoy the egg or cheese. Son got the salmon benedict, same, just okay. Orange juice tasted store bought. Pancakes were good. The best thing was the creme brulee. We devoured that in seconds! Yogurt was not too tart, so not bad either.
Went at noon on a Saturday. You have to physically stand in-line to wait for your table. So make sure to not go on a too hot or too cold day.. they do provide those tiny umbrellas while you are waiting, so that helps quite a bit. The vibe is pretty nice, good place to take instagram pictures. Plating of good is photogenic as well. Though, I think the pancakes are a bit too sweet ( I don’t have too much sweet tooth to be fair). Pricing is fair for the food quality + the restaurant decor. I probably will go back to try dinner.
Took a day trip to LA just to come here! Not going to lie, was a little disappointed. The location of the cafe made it difficult to find. It was in the hills in a random residential area. The streets were extremely steep and narrow. Since I went on a Tuesday, finding a decent parking spot wasn’t impossible. Luckily I didn’t have to wait in line either which was nice. As far as seating, it was a little hard to get comfortable just because all the dinning greenhouses are very close together and compact. Some are meant for two people and some are meant for larger parties. The couple tables were a bit claustrophobic, so I actually requested a larger table and was accommodated. With that said, the customer service was great! I believe our server was Jorge, he was super nice and attentive. However it seemed that there was a miscommunication between staff members because our orders were done wrong TWICE! My thoughts on the food though were positive. My plate wasn’t unique, it was something I order a lot from different places but it was good. I really came here for the aesthetic and if you’re about that then I recommend it. I don’t recommend wearing platform shoes/heels though just because I did and hit my head more than once inside my dinning house lol.
Came here with my friends to grab some brunch. The place has a very cute, quant vibe. Most of the options for seating were outside or semi-outside. Service was decent. I really enjoyed the food. We ordered the chicken club sandwich, vegan burger, and French toast. The French toast was by far my favorite dish. Will be coming here again!
In a nutshell, if you are looking for some place with pretty plants, flowers, and chic tables, chairs to take photos - plus you don’t really care about the taste of food - this is a to-go. To be sure, I did appreciate the nearly impeccable service - from very friendly and attentive host to sanitizers on every table (just a bit slowness in the coming of dishes) - and the little greenhouse did radiate lots of charm. So there’s the tradeoff, my friends and I agreed that among everything we ordered - probably only the juice could be said as worth trying. We had Berylline and it was surprisingly refreshing and light - quite unlike any traditional smoothie or juice. The pasta was the second “best” (despite being a little bit too greasy). The salmon benedict was okay too. Then came the recommended pancakes that were truly a disaster - you simply can’t put that much sugar in the otherwise fluffy and nice pancakes and then top them with ultra-sweet cream and maple syrup… Finally the oatmeal was just a mystery - disproportionally small in portion, watery and weird tasting in content. P.S. There’s a separate line for greenhouse seatings. Given that there are 4/5 greenhouses and the hosts don’t try to hurry anyone, it could be a very long wait at weekend (we waited for an hour from around 10am). P.P.S. Street parking dependent on luck.
This place is definitely more about aesthetics than food. It’s a very cute spot tucked away and perfect for Instagram photos. The vibe, decor, and dishware are all really nice and thoughtfully curated. That said, the food itself was pretty meh. I ordered churros and a chai latte, and both were very lackluster and not worth the price to me. The chai especially fell flat in terms of flavor. The service was good, and if you’re looking for atmosphere, visuals, and a cute setting to hang out or take photos, this place delivers. Just don’t come expecting standout food or drinks. For me, it was all about the vibe and not much else.
We came here for my friend’s bday brunch. The space is very cute and definitely “Instagramable”, our server was also very friendly and helpful. We had a great time! The only letdown is that the food is really just meh, from presentation to taste.
Here’s my review! The reviews they have on Google are pretty much true. The drinks were so nasty the water, bloody Mary, and the coffee did not taste good. The style and the restaurant itself is so beautiful. I loved it. The food was so good. The smoked salmon was fresh. The steak was fresh. The prosciutto was fresh and everything had flavor when it came to the food. It took forever though to get any drinks or food. If I go back, I’m definitely getting it to go, because it took forever for us to order. And to get our food & drinks. Plus, I only liked the food here so I would only get the food here. I would never get drinks here again!
This was my first time at this restaurant. I was seated fast. My food order came fast as well. I ordered the Veggie Frittata, and my friend ordered Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. The frittata was a nice size but had zero flavor. Not a lot of cheese. My mixed salad was soggy and had a few dead pieces of arugula. They also didn't have salt & pepper shakers on the table. The ambiance was nice. Everyone was seated in small, intimate sections, which is a nice touch when speaking to each at the table. My friends' food lacked hollandaise sauce, and the pork was a little dry, according to my friend. Parking for this restaurant is terrible. Be prepared to walk. They don't have a parking structure, so you will need to park on the street. I would try this restaurant again.
I went there on a busy Saturday for lunch, so I wasn’t too surprised by the wait time. We were seated pretty quickly, but didn’t get menus or water for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, it seemed as though the restaurant was short staffed, only having two servers throughout the entire place on a Saturday during brunch! We were very patient with the service, considering we noticed the situation, but still pretty surprised with the scheduling choices. After ordering, and receiving our food and drinks I was rather unimpressed by the food quality. It wasn’t terrible, but also wasn’t anything worth remembering definitely kid friendly, a lot of options on the menu. Likely some thing on there for everyone to enjoy. Based on the quality of food, the pricing is pretty fair. Similar to a lot of restaurants in LA you are pretty much paying for the ambience. We sat in a very cute private booth lots of photo ops. I likely won’t go back due to it being inaccessible by train, and my disappointment with the food quality but if you’re in the area you may as well stop by.
This cafe is super cute and the staff was great. It’s really the ambiance for me and the aesthetic, however, I love really good food and I felt that everything was very basic. The food wasn’t anything too crazy and lacked substance and dimension. I know that sounds super pretentious but the pancakes were just a sugar full and the sandwich was super plain. I think that the food is just okay and if you’re mainly in it but for looks and cuteness of the location, this is your place!
Beautiful unique cafe in a residential area. The greenhouses in their converted parking lot are a fun option if you can get one. Unfortunately our first experience here was not good, but many people seem to enjoy it overall. Our waiter brought the wrong coffee, then forgot the vanilla, then forgot to bring the sugar. We had to ask for every single thing we needed. We waited a very long time for our food, even longer (15 min+) to just pay our check, even after asking 3 people to take our payment. When I mentioned everything was taking quite a while to the hostess, I was offered no apology, just told that I need to be patient. I found it ironic since there was a wait for tables with a line outside. My wife's burger was good, the pesto tortellini, not so much. When we first sat down we were already talking about bringing other family members within the next two weeks. By the time we left, those plans were canceled.
The service was okay. I think they were either short staff or they had a fault line in their communication. Either way, we waited for more than 20 min for our food to come out, and it’s only after we asked how much longer. I had a cold plate and my friend ordered a sandwich. I’ve ate here before on a busy afternoon and the food tasted better, and the service was way better. Not sure why it was so vanilla this time. I do recommend the Lemon Poppyseed pancakes, I don’t recommend their Lux Salmon plate, as I could have gathered that plate at home since I eat that often, it was so bad. It was so plain and boring. But in the past I’ve had their pesto pasta and that was good.
First let me start with if I had to review Jaime the waiter but they call him Danny I would give him alone 5 stars!! He held that restaurant down and deserves being promoted and getting a raise! He and the decor were the only good thing about this restaurant. So after seeing tons of videos of this place all over the internet we decided to host our friends Christmas gathering here. The decor for the holidays is gorgeous and the outside seating in tents with little fire pits was what caught our attention. And the reason we came here. Upon arriving there was a gentleman who seated us inside and told us that we could not sit in the area outside with tents because they were short staffed! So the only reason we came here was because of that and now we are forced to sit elsewhere. We were okay with that and decided to stay. When they said they were short staffed they weren't kidding. The bartender was waiting tables and had little to almost no time for us. If it wasn't for Danny our night would have been horrible. Although poor guy was running around extremely busy he still found time to check in on us and bring us our drinks. He had a big smile throughout the whole night! If it hadn't been for him we probably would have left. The food was okay. Not great. Not decent. Just okay. The drinks were pricey for how small they were. Parking wasn't bad since there is plenty of street parking. There is only one bathroom that is for men and women and it was a mess!! Please don't advertise this beautiful decor with seating outside like you do if you are not able to seat customers there. Would I go back? Probably not!
Happened across this brunch spot and the vibes were great. Not a lot of people there when we came. Maybe 40% full. Then came the service. 20 minutes waiting for water. Finally was able to order. The food was unseasoned and dry. The table behind us was sat before us and asked for something and the server said “let me go check” — eventually they had to go find the server to order. They didn’t get their food until we were leaving. And we waited 20 minutes after plates were stacked and coffee was out before we could find a server. I wish we never walked past this place. The dry cold bacon side was $6. Which was just insulting.
The Cafe itself is cozy and cute. You get to sit inside a greenhouse/or not, different chairs, (we had a butterfly seat), surrounded by greenery, and under shade. We came here for breakfast, about an hour after they opened, a group of 5. Amongst everything, the food was aesthetically pleasing, my camera simply didnt do it any justice. The Toast was good, but fairly dry, it could have used more syrup or atleast a side of syrup. The sour dough egg sandwhich was delicious, they were able to take out the cheese for me. The fries and chicken nuggets were okay, and the pork poached egg was delicious as well. As for the service, we unfortunately weren't given any utensils for a while, and eventually began eating without them, we had asked for them twice. We were later on given utensils, but only after we've basically finished our food. As for drinks, we ordered 4 lemonades, but were only given 3, after a long while finally someone came to our table and we were able to ask for the other one, after one serving we werent offered any refills, thankfully we were given a large water container after getting a staffs attention for a refill. I say thankfully because two of us were chokeing, and even tho we asked for a refill of lemonades, and got water (possibly a miscommunication) it helped. It's difficult to find parking anywhere in LA, including this spot, so keep that in mind. Again, the spot is cozy, meaning fairly small, so if you're not early you'd possibly have to wait in line, you will have to stand outside, but they do offer umbrellas for shade. Overall, it's a cute spot, but their attentive service needs improvement.
Honestly, just go there for a coffee and the vibes; you can get the same brunch at Denny's for a fraction of the price. The menu descriptions were either aspirational or historical. In reality, the Spanish Frittata was a just scrambled eggs with random potatoes and bacon strips (not chorizo) on top. The breakfast sandwiches were served on slices of bread, not English muffins or brioche buns. Staff couldn't follow basic instructions, so don't go here if you have a serious food allergy.
Came here with my cousin today after I flew into LA this morning. We were really hungry and wanted to grab late breakfast/ brunch and came across this place. We were not greeted upon entry and had to walk to the counter inside where we were handed some dirty paper menues and were told to make payment when we decided what we wanted to order. I was confused because it’s a sit down restaurant and didn’t understand why we would be paying before being served. After we paid we had to go find somewhere to sit by ourselves and were not offered or asked if we wanted water or anything while we waited. The food took about 10-15 mins to come out which I thought was a decent amount of wait time as they weren’t that busy. The lemonades we ordered came out first, and my cousins drink was filled with little fly like bugs or tiny spiders. Was very grossed out and took it back inside to the staff, who just replaced our drinks with canned limonatas. I ordered the lemon poppy seed pancakes as I was told it’s one of their most popular dish, and my cousin ordered the beef burger. Our food looked to be promising upon initial sight, however we were very disappointed with the taste once we started eating. Both our dishes were very dry and lacked much flavour. It was very disappointing because we were excited to eat and try out what we thought would be a new discovery. The aesthetic of the place is cute and maybe good for some photos, but otherwise, it’s a bit dingy and dirty. Overall I would definitely not recommend this place for food, and the service was very subpar.
The vibe of this restaurant is very...interesting. It has a grandma's garden vibe off to the right of the entrance. There are little greenhouses that you can sit in but honestly it feels like everything is falling apart and is not maintained at all. There's a patio area that is much more open but the trees there are dry and dead. The kitchen area has seats but is very disorganized and dirty. So there is no indoor seating. The food is not the best. While the plating is pretty, the taste was not there. The potatoes were unseasoned and burned. The pancakes were dense, chewy, and lacking. The ricotta and blueberries are the only thing that saves the pancakes. The music played also doesn't match the vibe. It's like pop hits from the 90s and 2000s. We listened to "Shake Your Booty" very loudly and it was just strange. Overall, I recommend skipping this place.
Never ever EVER again. We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day and the entire experience was extremely DISAPPOINTING. Reservations were not respected. We arrived on time and were met with a long line outside with multiple parties who also had reservations and were confused about why they weren’t being seated. On top of that, the restaurant enforced a pre-fixed menu without notifying customers in advance. That’s something that should be clearly communicated before booking, especially for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and unprepared. We heard multiple groups saying they had been waiting over an hour just to receive appetizers, and some guests were telling others to leave because it wasn’t worth it. People were literally leaving mid meals! There were even empty tables that couldn’t be used because there wasn’t enough staff to serve them. Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a special night, and unfortunately this Lady Byrd experience ruined it for us. If this is how special occasions are handled, the restaurant should NEVER be taking reservations for events like this until it can operate them properly. Management needs to take accountability and make serious improvements, because this level of service is unacceptable.
I would never come back here. The outside seating is beautiful and the man that sat us was very kind. However, after this the experience went downhill. Our server was a bit rude and not attentive at all. The food brought to us was UNSEASONED AND BLAND. Party of 4 and none of us liked what we ordered. Plates were still full and untouched by the end of the experience. Paid nearly $40 for nasty food and an iced coffee. I do not recommend whatsoever and I am not typically one to leave bad reviews unless it’s warranted :’)
Never again. Got given the wrong menu (they realized 30 minutes after our order was taken). The wrong food with no utensils. No assigned server from what it seemed like. Got a pre fix menu that came with french toast and pancakes, did not receive those until we had to ask for them and we only got the french toast. 6 VERY small sad pieces of garlic bread added 25 dollars to the tab. This depressing experience was 2 hours of waiting and 30 minutes of eating. I have never been treated this way in a restaurant even counting fast food ones. This place is definitely not what it used to be.
Took an hour to get our food. We got steak and eggs and a chicken panini. Steak was not cooked properly and was tough and mostly made up of fat. Chicken panini has little to no chicken in it. We sent it back and the remade sandwich had dry chicken and burnt bread. Server also rarely checked up on us. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant
This place has failed me many times lately. Idk why they can’t organize correctly. I had a reservation at 7pm and I got there 30 mins before. While I was waiting in line. More people kept lining up because they had reservations as well. I waited 40 mins in line just to see other people leaving because they were not being served. The place had plenty of empty tables but they didn’t have enough staff to attend the amount of people who made reservations. The owner needs to hire more people when it comes special occasions. Overall this place disappointed me and left me with no place to go. It is not fair that I made reservations days in advance, just to end up having to find another place last minute, which is hard find on Valentine’s Day.
Had to wait 30 minutes in a line for a reservation. Ran the check in line like a fast food restaurant. Once we finally got in, the menu was halfway out of stock. Our server was really nice, but we honestly felt bad for the guy having to apologize over and over. Terrible look especially on valentines day. Cute place but obviously mismanaged.
