Mustard Seed Cafe

One of the top five breakfast experiences of my life. Our server was a complete pro. They don't have gluten free toast options so he kindly offered corn tortillas as an alternative and we appreciated it 100%. There was no wait, we were seated immediately, offered our choice of tables. The chilaquiles is served with scrambled eggs on top, but I like chicken on them too. I was thrilled to see they offer chicken breast on the menu and it's not just one but TWO very big grilled breasts. The portions were large and we only finished half of what were served. We loved eating our dishes again the next morning.

Love the food here! I got a small chicken tortilla soup with the chipotle chicken wrap and fries and they were both so flavorful! My friend got the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were so sweet and delicious, I have to come back for them!

The food here is quite simply delicious. The breakfast is fresh and tasty with ricotta pancakes stealing the show. Their lunch is always on point with ahi tacos, turkey burger and tortilla soup always satisfying. A great los feliz restaurant!

Amazing service and great food! My favorites are the breakfast burrito, veggie sandwich, and dirty chai latte. The portions are big so you can have more to take home for later. Friendly staff and cozy environment.

We stopped here for some breakfast on the way to Universal Studios. Great service and delicious breakfast. My wife had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were amazing!!! I had the French toast and it was great to. Very friendly service. A little hard to find parking, but we found some about 2 streets up. Nice short walk though. This is the first place I go after the new interior design. The food was still delicious and the iced latte was the best. I like the outdoor seating and the interior is also nice. It was a delicious and enjoyable lunch today.

"I ordered a Smoked Salmon plate. The accompanying bagel was toasted perfectly crispy on the outside and plated beautifully. The main ingredient, the salmon, was fresh and very delicious. This seems to be my new favorite brunch cafe.

My wife and I come here quite a lot whenever we're in town. The breakfast burrito is the best (in my opinion). The servers are super awesome as well. Even if the food wasn't good, I'd come back because the service is so good. With all things considered, this place is perfect for breakfast and lunch.

So I just so happened to have eaten here this morning around lunchtime. The guy was super nice and the food was great. I had the ahi salad... It was bomb. Prepared well, and the amount I got was great. I couldn't even eat It all. Definitely going back there again for sure. 👌

In fact, this place has pretty great portions, I was walking by to another restaurant and I saw people sitting outside and their food made me change locations and go here instead. Was immediately sat, receive quick and friendly service and everything we order was great. We got a croissant sandwich with turkey bacon and ricotta pancakes and eggs. Would be a regular here.

It was pretty packed but to my surprise the staff was very quick and as soon as we sat down the guy offered water and asked if we wanted a latte or mocha as we ordered our drinks he let's us know our waitress would be right with us . She was also very friendly and customer service was great! The mocha was delicious! Overall the price was pretty cheap The food was good and we sat outside in the patio. They have a cute sign inside as well ig worthy js . Stop by you won't regret it! Kid friendly and family friendly we found street parking

Many options on the menu. I ordered the Garden Burger with swiss on marble rye, my friend got the tuna melt quesadilla. The red cabbage slaw has the perfect recipe of texture and flavor. Both meals were fantastic! Our server was attentive and quirky. Would definitely recommend.

I had the grilled eggplant and goat cheese sandwich, it’s something I would’ve never have thought up myself. Seems like a diner but with a much more chef-driven menu and more breezy/cozy vibe. I also must say that every time I’ve gotten fish there it has been very decent especially for the price. (This is an understatement but it’s a better experience to set your expectations low for you to be pleasantly surprised.) Very good.

I love this place! I've been a customer since I moved to Los Feliz in 2010, and it's been consistently tasty food, excellent service, wonderful breakfast, huge choice on the menu. Fluffy pancakes, fluffy eggs, I love that for breakfast I could get an omelette or a scramble (somedays I'm just feeling like one or the other). I actually went to lunch here for the first time a week ago and the memory of that sandwich prompted me to write this review - a grilled chicken sandwich can be a delight if it's packed with flavorful chicken, fresh veggies, and has a lovely bread. That's what I had and it was so generous I took the second half home and had it for dinner. I feel like it's one of the most underrated places on the street.

I love the quality of all food here. Never changes. Good coffee is big plus.

The food was absolutely delicious, the service was so nice - it felt like eating at your Aunt & Uncle’s house. I’d recommend this spot to anyone looking for really good iced coffee and hearty breakfast food.

I always make a point to stop by Mustard Seed Café whenever I'm in Los Feliz. It has a calm, unpretentious atmosphere — like your favorite neighborhood spot. The food is absolutely delicious. I especially recommend the Crab Cake Benedict, and don't miss their hidden gem: the Hibiscus Lemonade!

I came here for brunch earlier this month with my friend FS. I was lucky enough to find a metered parking spot nearby; this place is street parking only and there are a lot of popular businesses and homes so you might have to walk a block or two. Located on the southeast corner of Hillhurst and Clarissa, this is a cute cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. You order and pay at the counter first and then they give you a number to bring back to whatever table you want to sit at, and then later someone will bring your food and drinks to you. i got their Grilled Vegetable Salad: Assorted veggies, romaine lettuce, avocado, and sundried tomatoes, served with balsamic vinaigrette. The assorted veggies were zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers, corn, and carrots and the salad was filling and delicious! The staff here are super nice. There was a lady who was standing on the corner by the front door who greeted me when I walked up and directed me to order at the counter (I didn't know what to do since it was my first time here). And the staff inside were also really nice and helpful as I figured out what I wanted to order. They also came by a couple times during the meal to make sure everything was okay and that my friend and I didn't need anything, which I thought was really nice of them. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!

Went out here for Easter brunch and it was quaint. The wait was short (about twenty mins on a holiday which was great) and they had water on a cart outside with menus and that was a major plus. The atmosphere inside is very hip and is well light creating a nice atmosphere. Although the location may put you off it's a great place for a breakfast date. If your looking for a nice breakfast spot with a good selection, great presentation and taste then def recommend giving this place a try.

This is a pretty well placed brunch that is good distance from sunset, Griffith, and downtown. All and all it's a standard brunch and lunch establishments that prides itself on its coffees and pastries. I find that the food there is definitely above average and and a staff that is eager to please. I definitely recommend the omelets since they are reasonably priced and will fill you up in the early afternoon.

First time to visit this restaurant. Great breakfast spot tucked back on Hillhurst. Delish food. The waiter was right up front about the fact that their credit card machine was down, before I ordered - which I appreciated. They have cappuccino and it was awesome. I ordered an egg scramble with Italian sausage, avocado and cheddar jack cheese with hash browns and rosemary toast. The hash browns were fabulous, and I would go back just for the rosemary toast. The Italian sausage is more herb than spice, so don't expect a kick. There's also a few tables outside if you prefer that to indoor eating. The portions are generous as well. I will get a 2nd breakfast at least from my serving this morning.

If you want fresh food and a Griffith park view, look no further. Mustard Seed is a casual sidewalk cafe with no waits and a plethora of food selection. As an elite reviewer, they offer phenomenal breakfast and lunch. It’s located at the corner of Hillhurst and Clarissa avenues. Indoor and outdoor atmosphere were inviting and relaxing. Interior design was unpretentious with few wall frames and abstract blue wallpaper. Moreover, it’s very spacious and tables were evenly separated per health guidelines. We came here on a Friday morning to grab breakfast and ordered their seasonal veggie omelet/pan scrambles which came with fresh fruit and toasted wheat bread; and a fresh squeezed orange juice. I love it. Veggie omelette was very soft, fresh and perfectly scrambled. Similarly, the squeezed orange juice was very fresh that my palate couldn’t get enough. Service was moderately fast. Staff was obsequious and professional. He was wearing mask. Serving was huge. Street parking only. Overall, we had a satisfying breakfast and good experience. We highly recommend this place.

Staff were super friendly. Happy and easy going. Food was ok - just nothing fantastic. Bowl of fruit and eggs that I ordered was exactly what I got, so can't complain, but it wasn't exactly exciting or special. Nice spot, but a lacked any charm inside.

The food came out super quick but didn't taste good at all. The turkey bacon felt like plastic. A woman who appeared to be the owner or manager yelled at her only staff out on the floor which felt very unprofessional and unnecessary. It was the first time here and I won't return again.

How do you mess up a bacon/egg/cheese burrito? That was disgusting, barely ate half before I through it in the trash. Just fyi to the cooks, burned eggs are one of the most disgusting flavors in the food world. Never again (barf)

Great food and amazing spot. However, I find it ridiculous that the waitress adds her own tip to the final tab, without even asking patrons; and it isn't a buck or two!! Gotta say, bus boy is always nice!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I came here over the weekend - an employee stole my credit card number and used it on over $500+ of items. When I attempted to speak to a manager about what happened on the phone, they hung up on me. EDIT: After posting this review, the restaurant owner Kim called me and threatened me with legal action for writing this review.

I gave what looked like the owner, a 20% cash pay and tip for my single meal, to which she responded with a disapproving tone in Korean, "So little?" I'm not even Korean, but here I am as a server in the food industry in this economy coming to support your establishment and giving you 20% because I know how hard it is.
