Every town has that jewel in the rough. That place that looks like a dive but has the most wonderful food. Dimba's is that place in Lubbock. Dimba's is home to the best southern fried catfish I've had at a restaurant in West Texas. I'm from Louisiana, so I'm picky when it comes to fish. Also they make chicken strips better than many of the more well known chain restaurants. It may not look like much, but Dimba's is a great place and grab a bite. The staff is super friendly and the food is awesome!

Food is always good. My mother-n-law always gets the Senior Catfish and I tried their Fried Chicken. It was very tasty.

A favorite place for seafood. Visited on a Wednesday I think. The service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are well within reason for the quality. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.

This is the place we AYCE every time we are in Lubbock. You may think it crazy but out of 19 years in DFW, I have not found the flavor that Dimba's has! Small facility but order carryout if you choose not to stay. You will have no regrets.

Ok first waited for the owners husband to cook my food fresh took about 15 mins had a wonderful conversation with her!! Went home to enjoy what had my car smelling like HEAVEN got fish, chicken,potato salad and Cole slaw with 16 puffs idk what a puff is but OMG they are so good they are crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle absolutely every part of the food was fantastic!! Ever drive up to that hole In the wall and think this is either going to be wonderful or horrid? It may not be a palace but we ate like queens! The oil was clean and fresh, the fried okra was outstanding, the chicken and fish were tender, hot, and tasty. Loved, loved, loved Dimba's!

I have been dropping in at Dimbas for over 20 years. It is a great place to get a simple meal quickly and at a good price. Specializes in takeout, but it does have a small dining room. Very friendly. The catfish is probably my favorate. But it is all very good. They also offer all you can eat fish or chicken at a very reasonable price. Puffs and honey are included with meals. They also have nightly specials. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good basic food at great prices.

Absolutely Awesome Food And Staff!! Went to a "high dollar" restaurant that was sad here in town. This restaurant blew them out of the water!! Awesome Catfish!! In Town on Business come often and usually look for hole in the wall places , This is a Gem ! Fresh Seafood , Great Sides , Great Flavor ! Had the Fish and Chicken, The puffs are like funnel cakes meets dinner roll ! Truly a great meal of comfort food . This is not like any other drive in near here. Do yourself a favor and try it out ! Ate at the one on Frankford today. It was my first time to eat at a Dimba's. It was delicious. I had cornmeal battered white fish and shrimp. Staff was friendly and the wait wasn't long. Next time, I'll try some of their chicken and catfish.

First time at Dimba's. We ordered the small family meal with catfish, chicken bits, cold slaw, and pinto beans. Everything was very good and a great value for our money.

Dimba's is my designated chicken and seafood spot. Now that I think about it, I do not think that there is anything that I do not like about Dimba's. The food is always cooked to order which is fantastic. Don't be turned off if you order chicken and they tell you that it will take 20 minutes because perfection takes time! Those little bread puffy thingy's are so good when you put honey in them. I think I might make an order right now!!

The white fish southern style or batter fried is the absolute best fish and chips on this planet. The fries and puff roll just make it even better. I have enjoyed this Restaraunt since it was “southern seas” over 35 years. The owner “Dimba” is a hard working man and very nice. Local favorite for life..

I was in Lubbock for Easter and the food was delicious the staff was very friendly and helpful explaining the different types of fish offered and how it was peppered the fried okra was really good will be going back the next time I’m in town.

Tried Dimba's as a result of searching reviews online. We were looking for a real Catfish dinner. And boy did we get one! We tried both the whole fish dinner and the Southern Style Catfish and we were so pleased after eating that I had to complement the lovely lady (owner) on how well she had done! We were surprised that the dining area was closed, and we just ate in the car, but wow, what a meal.

Most definitely worth it!!! Inexpensive & friendly staff!!!! Food is cooked to order so you never receive cold food!! If your not the type that likes to wait then id suggest calling in your order! Will recommend & most definitely will be back! My new favorite food place!

I love this place! I've only had the catfish and chicken but it's delicious. They have specials everyday and you can't beat those prices. Plus they give you that heavenly puff with your dinner. Throw some honey on it and it's hands down the best dessert you're gonna find. The staff is friendly+great food+great prices=a great deal!

A locally owned restaurant that impresses! I was happy to try Dimba's and went on a day off to find the nicest lady ever working who guided me through the menu. I went easy on the fried fish with fries and a 'puff' - sort of an unsweet donut, but I dipped it in the honey. Everything was hot and fresh, and I was thrilled to support local. I was encouraged to call ahead if I want fried chicken, so I'll definitely do that in the future. Great place!

Amazing catfish food is always cooked fresh at least every time we go there. The counter staff is great. It was a young guy and he was very friendly brought the food to the table almost wouldn't let me bring anything to the table. The place is small but still very polite and welcoming. It's a small place sometimes it's a little warm in the restaurant but it's Soo worth it if you love fried fried food. Again the catfish is amazing so is the clam strips. And the price is good too.

I would give them a 10 star rating if I could. Dimba's is the absolute best Catfish in Lubbock and their Chicken Bits are large and cooked to perfection. Everything I have ever gotten here has always been excellent and the Staff is Friendly and helpful. Highly recommend you eat here.

Saw this restaurant on a list of black owned business so wanted to give it a shot! I enjoyed it. The chicken strips were very yummy and the fries were good too. They also came with puffs which I find rare in Lubbock and they were super yummy. The woman who helped us was very nice. I also ordered mozzarella sticks. These were not so good. Definitely felt like frozen ones they just heated up. The cheese wasn’t that great. I wouldn’t get those again but I would definitely do the chicken strip combo again. My partner got a catfish meal and enjoyed it greatly as well.

I enjoy eating here when visiting my son who is a student at Texas Tech. The food is really good and cheap. The employees are very friendly. The decor could use some updating ... paint it red and black (wink). The poor restrooms need some serious help (sigh). Again, the food is really good. I love the fish!

Ordered the 5 piece white fish. My lady ordered the chicken bit. Tried some shrimp. Everything cooked so well my most highly enjoyed meal in a while. Sweet people working. If you want some delicious food. A wait isn't an issue for the quality of the food.

So it's hot and crispy. The hush puppies are really good And those puffs are amazing! I could eat a dozen of em.... Tried Dimba's for the first time tonight. The fried chicken was excellent. It takes 20 minutes to cook, so if you go be prepared. It is piping hot, fresh, and taste like old school, southern fried chicken. The puffs taste like funnel cake and adding honey to them was a great treat. I'd definitely go back. I made the mistake of coming here on my lunch hour. It's a lot of food. A lot of good food. If you like chicken or fish, you'll love Dimbas. I love their hushpuppies the most.

Dimbas has a 20pc chicken strip meal for 19.80, with mashed potatoes and gravey. We also ordered a 8pc meal for 15.40. Chicken was really good this time. We had a previous order many months ago and didn't like it. We decided to try again and it was DELICIOUS 😋.

Ate there tonight the one on 50th was delicious as always!! Been going for years never been in the back where the bathrooms are Omg 😷😱 let me tell u scary couldn't believe i recommend cleaning the baseboards with bleach and soap and a extreme deep clean for the bathrooms and door areas

My family have enjoyed Dimba's for years. It's a local family owned business that has served this area for more than 25yrs. Nothing fancy, but great home style cooking for great fish and chicken. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Great place for fried fish and chicken. Busy at lunch time. There are only a handful of booths for in-house dining. Portions are good size and will fill you up. Restaurant could be a little cleaner, but remember most of the items on the menu are fried so that's to be expected.

It's a far sight better than KFC or any other fast food joint. The catfish is easily my favorite. Very affordable. Minus one star due to atmosphere. I take the drive through; but, be warned, there's always a little bit of a wait.

The place can get busy. They only serve to go and drive thru orders so double check your bag when you receive it. Ask for extra ketchup packets.

I've been a customer of Dimbas for years... however it appears that I will have to find another place for good fried catfish. I'm very unhappy with the decrease in size of the catfish. It used to be of good portion but now it's so much smaller, think cut fish. Furthermore when I called to complain to a manager, I overheard the lady who answered the phone ask another employee did she want to be the " manager" today? This was very unprofessional and bad business. I was told that they have been receiving several calls about my same concern. However there seems to be no plans to correct it.

(We ate here a few months ago) I'll be honest the catfish was pretty good and the fried chicken/hushpuppies were great for being homemade. When we first got there the lady that took our order was short and rude. It almost seemed like it took everything in her to be polite. However, when we sat down she was smiling/hugging people getting up to leave (regulars or friends I'm assuming). I don't know what the issue was but if we order from here again it will be to go.

We went on Friday because of Lent we waited for a long time understandable because of the Lenten season. We ordered the 2 of the #2 fried southern white fish and they gave us fried catfish I don't like catfish to me it tastes like soil because it's a bottom feeder. I had been trying to call them finally I got through and they wouldn't replace the order with the correct order by the time I would have driven back they would have been closed. So to me that's bad on them to not satisfy the customer with the correct platter! There's no dining in or else we would have noticed before driving all the way from 50th to 101st. Not to mention the hush puppies were burnt. I hope the alley cats enjoyed the "CATFISH I DIDN'T ORDER!"

Not busy when we arrived- 2 other tables. Promptly greeted as we walked in the door. They cook to order so the food is fresh, not sitting under a heat lamp for unknown time. It can take 10- 15 minutes to receive your food so be patient!! We come here about once a month and it is always consistently good. We will be back again!

This place used to be one of my favorites, but sadly it has gone very downhill. Food is constantly overcooked, portions are smaller and have had multiple wrong orders.

Best place in all of Lubbock to get fried fish. Got to watch them when it comes to getting your order right at the 4th and Frankford Street location. The last three times I've been in there they can't seem to get the orders correct no matter what then they try to get away with charging you a little more and not giving you exactly what you paid for. Not good!

I have been calling the store manager or owner for two weeks. I want to get my food catered so I chose Dimbas. I've left messages three or four times.. I've never received a call back. People want you to use Black own businesses, but they are not professional. I'm very disappointed.

Good fried food. Wish the staff got to keep the tips customers gave them. No they go to the owner then distributed to everyone weeks later. It's disgusting to not let people keep the tips they earn. Then staff's raises are a joke.

I'm not sorry bout speaking on this, but what establishment doesn't give you "lemons' to go with your fried catfish? I've never went to a place and ordered "fried catfish" that didn't come with lemons UNTIL now after ordering their Southern fried catfish! It should be a common sense thing but apparently calling and asking why I don't have lemons to squeeze on my fried catfish apparently annoyed the employee that I talked to. The fact she felt the need to be a smart ass instead of just being kind is sad. But, I have say I won't be back for the simple fact on how small the catfish was compared to the last time I ate here. I was very disappointed with the whole meal to be completely honest. I think I'll stick to The Catch and pay an extra couple dollars for some dang good fried catfish with the correct potions sizes. I use to refer people to eat here all the time, but I'll no longer be doing that after the meal I was served.

The ladies working the evening of May the 19th were less than hospitable. In lieu of the fact I paid more than expected and got a “sorry boutcha” type answer, and to the fact I paid it without pitching a fit you could, at very least, try and wear a fake smile. No smiles and even less communication. I must admit though the food is good. So good. So gosh darn good. I mean their catfish is otherworldly delicious. To whomever owns this joint, please update your online menu. It really gives an air of “deception” and the collective public has plenty of the already in 2025. Please and thanks.

They don’t use gloves at all! I just seen two of the employees prepare my food with using gloves. I ask the work, do the owner not make them use gloves, she said no! Not only are they not using gloves they don’t have on any mask!

I'm from Mississippi and a catfish expert....I hate to say it, but I ordered a catfish plate. Nothing about the fish said anything about catfish. Bland at it's best!

The food was edible, but the store itself is by far the dirtiest public eatery I've ever been to. The bathroom floor is called with grime all the way up the walls, the paper towel machine had so much dirt imbedded in it's gears, that it wouldn't even allow the paper towels access to come out. The trash was overflowing onto the floor, with unbelievable body fluids and such on the dirty tissue, and the 🍒 on top? About 4 squares of toilet paper. I was appalled, and if we hadn't already paid nearly $31 for dinner for two, I would have left and gone elsewhere. On a side note, within 2 hours of eating, both my husband and I experienced severe stomach issues that persevered into the night. It'll be a cold day in bimbo land before I eat there again. How this place is allowed to stay in operation, being this filthy, is being my score of understanding, I suppose. It might be noted that the location described here is on Quaker and 50th in Lubbock, Texas!

Sad night at Dimba's tonight. Drink's we're wrong, diet drinks instead of regular that we ordered. Only one drink brought to table, had to ask for the second. She forgot to add one dinner we ordered, had to pay twice! My order was for a 5- piece battery fish and I got one piece battered and four southern style. Not real satisfying!

Ate here at lunch for the first time. The lady at the window had no customer service skills. Had the daily special steak finger. Got food poisoning! Definitely not impressed and would NOT recommend!!

Omg! This was terrible. I ordered the 6 piece gizzard they where over cooked. My grand daughter couldn't chew them. My chicken taste like fish.. The fish was good. I will never eat from this place ever again.

1 the lady who took my order was rude. 2 that same lady treated my white fiancé very ugly and like she did not want to serve him because he was white. 3 the food wasn’t good. The fries were ooooollllllllldddddddd, the chicken was bland, the only thing decent was the little itty bitty pieces of catfish. Other than that it wasn’t a good experience whatsoever. I was always afraid to try it because of the way it looked (it’s dirty and rundown) but I decided to give it a chance but overall it was not worth the $12 and I won’t be back.
