I lived in Burque for about 20 yrs and kinda became fond of this place, and then I found out that they have one here in Lubbock 🤯. Oh my gosh! You have to try the "505" it's pepperoni and hatch Green Chilies! If you like substitute try the turkey and swiss with Greek dressing 😋!
Good pizza - made how you want it. Good sandwiches. Good salads. Comfortable clean restaurant. I've only regretted choosing Dion's a couple times when they were super busy and crowded - but the food has always been good!
Dion's has great quality food and the best service. I have not had one bad dish. The manager, Eli, is amazing as is the rest of his staff.
Had never been here before but the GREAT customer service will have me coming back! Felicia was so sweet and gave meet information about the menu with a friendly genuine smile. She noticed my work shirt and we had a great conversation about the gym I work at.
I use to live in Albuquerque, NM. Dion’s is my family’s favorite place to eat. The biggest thing we miss. We moved to the Fort Worth area 3 Year’s ago. Every time we go back to Albuquerque it is mandatory that we eat at Dion’s. We are so happy there is one we can go to in Lubbock. We drive 4 1/2hrs each way just to have Dion’s pizza. It doesn’t happen a lot, but a few times a year will have to work! Best pizza and salad. The ranch dressing is amazing. We buy bottles of it to bring home every time.
Person that took our order was nice and helpful. Also, the guy that gave us our order was nice and friendly.
Thanks for reaching out! I'm sure you'll streamline the delivery process. That was the only issue the pizza was great! I love how generous you are with the artichoke hearts and the crust is perfect. I don't see myself ever ordering pizza from anywhere else:)
It's a nice place. Always clean. It's never very busy when we go after church on Saturday night but it's also 7pm so that may be a factor. I like that I can get it by the slice and add whatever toppings I want on it. My family likes green Chile something or other which they customize to their liking but that's not for me. I get 2 slices with bacon, olives, and pork sausage. I always forget they're big slices and I really only need 1. I like the garlic cheese bread too. It's not pizza crust like other pizza places. It's actual bread so it gets crispy.
Ordered for Dion's for the first time a few weeks back. When I went in I was pretty happy to see how clean it was and the smiling face behind the counter, I forgot her name but she was amazing she helped me figure out what size pizza I would need to feed a family of six. Ordered my pizzas for a to go order. We live in Clovis and since we were in town and soon were getting a Dion's the family couldn't wait to try it. It was one of the best pizzas we have had in a long time. I couldn't believe it. It was the best, we love sauce though so next time we will order with extra sauce.
I was happy they where open on Easter for dinner. The staff that very nice and helpful. The salad I got was great. Huge. Much bigger than expected but very very good. The pizza we had was excellent as well. I'm not usually the biggest fan of the pizza but it was made very well on this trip.
We’ve been going to Dion’s throughout the pandemic (and before) and I’ve always been pleased to see that their employees are always wearing their masks. Ordering online and picking up is extremely easy and the food is very consistent. We love their salads and it’s my fave pizza in Lubbock. Good job!
We were passing through town and made Dion’s our road trip dinner destination. We ordered online and arrived 5 minutes early and it was ready. The gentleman that helped me was extremely courteous and made sure to double check our order. Thank you for making it a quick and enjoyable experience to feed our 4 kids on the road. It goes without saying that Dion’s pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had. Please consider putting a location in north Austin/Cedar Park/Leander Tx.
Always love me some Dion's!! Picked up a large pepperoni pie for my brother in San Antonio! 🤤
Employees are extremely helpful and friendly.
Huge thank you to Dion’s and Mary McCabe for making our T ball party extra delicious!!! Also for sponsoring the sandlot tball league.
The food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is their turkey and swiss sandwich.
Excellent pizza and extremely friendly service. First time eating here bad I will be back many many times.
Dion's always has good food. We always get a salad and a pizza and leave with extra for another meal at another time. The staff is always friendly and my daughters love watching them make the pizzas.
It's been a while but tonight dinner we order a salad and omggg it was amazing as ever .....Best Chef Salads I must say !!!!
Got a pizza we haven't tried before, the Napoli, definitely not as good as the Tuscany or the Santorini, but the crust was bomb as usual! Service was great! Waited about 20 minutes, so not too long and of course the Greek Salad with Greek dressing is my absolutely favourite salad of all time!
I grew up eating Dion’s in Albuquerque, NM (where it started). I now live in Austin, TX, but I eat Dion’s anytime I am in Lubbock. Please open Dion’s in Austin - it would do great here!
The food was fresh and great tasting. Talk about the amount of food for the price, it’s hard to beat. The dinning room is huge and plenty of space and clean!
My go to in Lubbock for pizza and subs!
I got a takeout pizza with everything. This is a nice place. I ordered at the front counter, but its a full service restaurant.
I love Dion's. One of my favorite places to grab a salad or a sandwich, although the pizza is good too. If you call ahead or order online you can pick it up in the drive through lane. Lots of options for green chili if you like that. It's also a good place for a quick lunch.
Dion's is top notch pizza and great people too. Our catered training lunch was fantastic. Thanks for your generosity.
The staff was very friendly and VERY helpful when me and my family needed anything. The main manager ( I believe his name is Andrew) was very on top of everything and he was super friendly he even came out and asked us and multiple others how the food was and if he could get anything else for us. Definitely one of my favorite places to go regularly
The pizza is fantastic. I had forgotten how crispy the bottom of a pizza could be. I also love the observation area for kids to watch the pizza be made.
Best lunchtime and lunch special!! As soon as I walked in the door Rob made me feel very Welcome! He made sure I received my meal when I did not hear my name called. I will definitely be coming back again 😊
Alwaysget a Dion's special, but made mistake of ordering a small size thinking it was a 12". Way too much for one person Food is always great and staff is friendly, courteous, respectful.
While visiting Lubbock, I went with a group of 9 here. It was wonderful! I need to have a Dion's where I live. We had a veggie pizza with chicken, a sub sandwich, plain garlic bread, cheese bread, and a salad. Everything tasted amazing! The salads are a great size. All the food was fresh and made to order. Staff was super friendly.
Having gone by before to pick up chop salads for an event, I decided to get one for my mother. This time, I noticed a drive up lane. When I approached the speaker, the gentleman let me know this is usually for orders already made but still offered to take my order. I ordered two chopped salads, and a short 10 minutes later, they were ready. They were even more delicious than I remembered!! I will be back and I'm sure my mother will as well!
I'm from ABQ, so Dion's has a special place in my heart. Every time we drive through Lubbock from Austin we are sure to stop and have an amazing dinner. The pizza, salads and subs are all amazing. And get some green chile on your pizza for the love of all things.
Great handmade pizza! This is a great tasting pizza in the old thick crust style. Cheese and toppings are all great. Salads are so good. Very underrated spot.
I had ordered online and my order was delivered by doordash. The dasher left half of my order at the store and then refused to go back and get my order. I called Dions back and the assistant manager was incredibly helpful and accommodating for a mistake they didn't make. This Dions will retain my business and from now on I'll pick it up personally. They have fantastic customer service and are quick too.
very good place!! pizza is very good and so ia the cheese toast, very crunchy! pizza isnt to much burned but if so, it adds flavor, prove me otherwise.
Amazing a second time - had a pastrami - lettuce wrapped so yummy and so much meat. Husband had, meatball sandwich Oh delicious.he shared a bite. I may opt for this next time. Worth the visit - they are the best - I'd have to say the customer service is another reason we keep coming back to this place. Plus it's always so clean no matter what time of day it is.
Yes, the atmosphere through out Dion’s is distinguished and comforting. I walked in the place and immediately felt at home. As I bit into my slice of Pizza I was taken back to my adolescent years of innocence and ignorance. I want to go to Dion’s and never go home. Will be coming back.
The people working there are super friendly and kind! The carnivore pizza was pretty greasy but that's to be expected of an all meat pizza. The provolone sub is delicious, I'd get it with a fruit cup instead of chips. The tables were kinda dirty and sticky everywhere, but nothing a Clorox wipe can't handle. Overall, a great place for both the subs, pizza, or salad.
Had an order thru Drive-Thru and it was a fast and hassle free. Great Service Start To Finish, Delicious Food like Always. Perfect Portioned for my Family. Extremely Pleased with How Respectful and Kind Staff Always is at this location. Always My Go To For Delicious Food and Outstanding Customer Service. This Location Definitely Knows how to Train Staff To Care for Customers and Go Above and Beyond
Great pizzas and salads. Friendly employees. Kind of pricey.
great pizza! big sizes. good drink choice, their half and half ,tea and lemoned is bomb! sub is good and night manager, rob or robert is very confident and helpful. me and my family can hear him from one of the corner booths thanking staff and putting out orders, very funny to hear sometimes
The staff were so sweet. We have been there several times but the evening of 12/2/24 they were especially sweet to the kids. Throwing pizza crust after pizza crust to entertain them and even gave them a t-shirt. They were so excited. Great customer service by all the staff. Thank you!
Good pizza, quick service, and nice atmosphere.
Ordered lunch for my wife’s break and they had it done before the scheduled time. And the service was great. The restaurant seemed very clean put together.
We love Dion's. Our favorite one is 82nd and University Lubbock. Pickup and dine in is always great!
The food was good. The only thing lacking was tomatoes doe my salad They didn't have any.
I haven't liked going inside for a long time, The last manager was Rude and didn't seem to care much about their customers. But the other day i Went and dealt with Ashley, let me tell you, she was amazing and got my order right on the First try. I can't believe how much y'all have turn things around in hire her as one of your managers. Keep up the good work
Best pizza in town! Great salads too. Always clean. Friendly employees. Would totally recommend!
helpful staff, clean dining (like always) great pizza the manager robert was cheerful and respectful
Food was great! It took some time to get our food, but it was busy so that is expected and it was worth the wait. Everyone was polite!
Best pizza in town by far. The only time I had problems at Dion's was last night. My order was running a little late and Xavier the manager was up front and authentic. He put in the effort to see what he could do for me and made sure I left a happy customer. You can't really teach customer service like that. Obviously offering huge value to the team at Dion's. I'll definitely be back.
I come to Lubbock usually 1 time a week. Lions has the best sub sandwiches . I live near Ft worth and no one compares with the food served at Dions.
My husband got the Special pizza. He said it was very good. Brought half of it home. I always get the Italian Sub. Yummy 😋! I highly recommend.
I have been a regular customer at both Lubbock Dion's locations for a couple of years now. Love the food especially the amazing salads. My only complaint is that for at least 9 months or so, they will not update their price signage. Asked for the slice and salad special priced at $13.50 and i was charged $13.80. I have mentioned the price disparity to management at both locations and they both said they were updating their signage. It has been many, many months with no change. It isn't the fact that they increased their prices that bothers me. It is the fact that they are aware and will not update signage. .,,,,...., Update: I received a call from Dions where i was informed that the prices are in fact correct. The discrepancy is due to an up charge in effect for lemonade since it is made fresh in the store. Thank you for contacting me and explaining.
Just Wow! It is so Refreshing to be able to take my family out to eat at this location because the great food like always and the great customer service! I was helped by a Adalynn and she was just the sweetest thing and very knowledgeable! I give this location a 20/20 its always so fresh, clean, and employees are Fantastic!!!! This is my go to location when i work up a Dion’s need. This Location always takes care of me and my family🩷 You Guys Rock!!!!!!
Visited this location for the first time last week. The experience was Great, Food was Delicious. Everything was Very Fresh. Noticed Lobby was very cleaned, I dealt with a gentlemen named Andrew, Who went above and beyond to make sure the food looked and came out perfect. I’ve been to a lot of Dion’s restaurants and this is by far my choice just simply cause customer service, freshness of food, cleanliness and just all around a very pleasant place to feed a family.
This is the second time coming to Dions Pizza. Both times I’ve come, staff are friendly and very helpful. I do online ordering, which my order is complete upon my arrival. The atmosphere inside Dions is family friendly and very clean. The food is always amazing! The smell of the pizza is delightful and you know you’re going to eat a delicious pizza. I love their chief salad!! It is one of the best salads I’ve ever ate! With the meats, egg, and cucumbers!! You definitely should try the salad!!
Staying in Lubbock for work. I had the itch for some pizza and to my surprise I found Dion's. I am from the 505 and knew this place would hit the right spot. I REALLY wanted to give this place 5 stars. Made an online order for pizza and a sub. I showed up a little early, the sandwich was made long before the pizza. When I picked up my order I received the sub and had to wait on the pizza. I know they work both sides so somethings may come out earlier than others, I only wish they plan it out right so that both items come out hot. I found a beard hair in the pizza. We live in a time of sanitation, so this prob should be addressed.
It took forever to get our food and it wasn't even that busy. I was having a hard time reading the menu when ordering and the cashier was being very short with me which just made things more tense. When we finally did get our food it was very delicious. I also think it is very annoying that you charge for ranch.
Just tried it for the first time. The service was prompt and friendly, the pizza is different but in a good way, and the prices were reasonable in the depression we seem to be living in. The pizza isn't saucy. It looked like there was cheese under the toppings and a little on top. Not sure what they do to their crust, but it was good. The cheesy toast was delicious as well. I'd definitely eat Dion's pizza again.
Overall, very good restaurant, friendly staff no long wait times. Pizza could have had more sauce & less cheese.
The young lady taking my order was a bit rude cause I asked to buy a drink but my niece wasn't there yet If I could pay for it now and when she gets here she can come back in line to tell them what she wanted to drink. And I swear it was the most difficult thing in the world. like I get you need to tell the system what you're doing easy math charge me for anything sprite, tea whatever and just don't pour it yet. I of course will still be back great sized salads. Decent pizza.
Updating my review from 5 to 4 stars. The sandwiches are great but the cleanliness is lacking. At first glance the tables look clean but they are all very sticky. Not sure if they're using salad dressing to clean the tables with or what. Gives me Chuck E. Cheese vibes.
The pizza is delicious. Salads look amazing. Customer service is good. Everyone’s very friendly. The place is clean and neat. You order and sit down. They call your name when order is ready. Is hot and fresh. Station for paper plates, utensils etc. You have to go up to counter and they get your refill for you. Desserts are packaged. Right up by counter. Look good.
I had called to place an order for Italian sub sandwich I specifically said no black olives guess what I got black olives on my sub sandwich I told the girl who took my order please no black olives I ordered this all the time made me upset had to pick it out
We always LOVE Dion’s pizza but this last takeout we got over the weekend on Saturday) was less than stellar. Not sure if you changed the crust, cheese or other ingredients but instead of a 5 rating, it’s a 3 at most. We order a pizza every 10 days or so and have for years and until now it’s been the best. We may try the other location next time and if it’s not as good as before, it’ll be our last order. Even the outside of the crust was a bit burned. The whole pizza just tasted “off.”
Honestly, we were excited to try Dion’s for the first time after living in Lubbock for so long. We ordered around 7pm on our way home from work and the time quoted for our order to be ready was 7:37, we decided to run an errand at the United next door while we waited. We go through the drive thru around 7:30 to pick up the order and they asked us to pull into a parking spot as it was not ready yet, this was totally fine with us as we were early and we were excited to have our food hot and fresh. 8:00 rolls around and our food is still not out, at this point we are waiting outside in the parking lot along with 5-6 other cars. Finally, we decide to call to check in on our order and it’s magically ready all of a sudden and they’re bringing it out to us right away. We didn’t receive our food till around 8:10pm, it wasn’t hot/fresh at that point, it was lukewarm. It was really disappointing after waiting so long on pizzas that we felt are honestly a bit overpriced, we were willing to spend the money thinking it’d be worth it since it’s always busy and people seem to like it. The pizza itself is good but was not worth a 30 minute wait ON TOP of the original 30 minutes we were quoted we’d have to wait.
Called in my order (like we have done many times) pulled up to the window, it wasn't ready. Pulled to their parking spot he pointed out and waited and waited...finally 30 minutes after I called it in he brought it out. Drove the 4 minutes to the house and the sandwiches were mushy and not very good...probably won't do this again.
Hadn't eaten here in a while. Stopped by for sandwiches yesterday. Was disappointed in how small and low content the sandwiches have become. Inflation, yeah I get it, but offer two price points. One for kids and one for adults
I had 2 large pizzas and a salad delivered to my son’s home for a birthday gathering this evening. One of the pizzas was undercooked (not sure about the other). For a tab of $80 I’m very disappointed. I definitely expected better coming from this establishment.
The pizza dough was dry and no flavor at all. Their toppings were good the pizza sauce wasn't that good needs more spices. The regular salad was excellent
My child went on a field trip and I joined them. I could not preorder my food. All students and staff were eating while I waited on my pizza to be done. But my child was happy and that’s all that mattered. Just thought I could order at the same time and eat with everyone else.
Absolute worst customer service and management personnel. Seriously need to train your managers on how to push back on school athletics teams coming in without calling ahead with their orders. And for your managers to tell customers that ordered prior to the 50-60 person group that came in, that their order has to wait 1-2 hours on their food because of the large order they prioritized over everyone else not involved with the school order, is absolutely ridiculous. And to top it all off, your teenage "manager" actually had the nerve to attempt to make it seem like I was in the wrong for requesting a refund after waiting an hour for a salad that we requested to come out first, not even asking about the pizzas we ordered. Additionally, for your manager to tell me that "you'll just have to wait, you do see the large order we're working on?", unacceptable! I never have had to raise my voice with any service industry employee. But your employees tonight, to tell me that I should continue to wait because they have absolutely NO management skills and that a massive order that came in AFTER ours and several others, was reason enough for me to emphasize that she WAS GOING TO REFUND US. I get it, y'all landed a huge 50-60 person order, but sincerely hope that in the future your employees at this location can figure out how to serve everyone, and not blow off all the small ($60) orders from families like mine.
Ordered one pizza and was told it would take 20 minutes. Left my house around 25 minutes after. Got there within 5 minutes. Went through drive thru and was told it would be about 3 minutes and had us pull forward. We waited till it was over 45 minutes since order. We went in and asked to speak with manager. She seemed to not know what to say. After struggling to find words, she said it was just waiting to be cut. She never apologized for inconvenience or delay. After about 55 minutes we take our pizza home and discovered it was cold and hard. Very disappointed.
Everything tasted good until I found 2 long hairs baked into the pizza my coworkers picked up for lunch today. I tried pulling the hairs out but they were deeply in the pizza 🤢 needless to say I won’t be eating from Dions again… so disgusted.
Worst experience tonight. We love Dion's but tonight we ordered online and waited 30 minutes for our order, went to pick it up and were told it they had not even started making our pizza. They told us it would be " a while". It was 8:42 and we were not willing to wait another 30 minutes for our pizza. We asked for a refund and we were not given any kind of apology by the manager. Not impressed with service tonight
I called in my order worth $100.00 and the staff was rude and disrespectful to the handicap. I never eat here again until management is fired and staff fired as well.
Great food, but poor customer service at 82nd street today. Cashier just puts my change down on counter tells me "10 minutes" and then looks at the person behind me, which basically told me without words "Move!!". A good cashier puts coins in hand then the bills. Sad.
Could be 50 people or none and there would still be a 40 minute wait
Out of all the Dion’s I’ve been to this one is by far the slowest…. Idk what the point of calling ahead to order is when you still have to wait after the 30 min mark. I would seriously consider ordering from another location before coming here
The food was fine but everything else was bad. Every single table was dirty. We were there about 2hrs and not one time did any employee clean a table. Horrible. The girl who took our order couldn't have cared less about the words coming out of our mouths. When peoples food was ready to be picked up you just had to get lucky and see them set it out. Otherwise it would just sit around till it got cold. One employee kept walking around aimlessly like he didnt know what to do. Maybe clean a table! But NO. These lazy children really needed a parent there to tell them what to do! We are NOT going back.
*Sigh* they did not give me my marinara sauce with my meatball and provolone sub. Everytime I come here it’s something else to remind me not to come. I should’ve checked though, so that’s on me.
Food has really gone downhill- my chef salad had literally nothing but lettuce and onions- no eggs, no peppers, a few meat crumbs… sandwiches have bits of shredded meat- will not be back
I love love love Dions pizza. When I go I order me a Duke City with extra Turkey and extra cheddar. This food always comes out perfectly and timely. Normally when I go to the counter to order my food, me and my wife have no issues at all... But upon this last visit we walked up to the register, where a team member, rather than greeting us let out a huff and rolled her eyes making both me and my wife very uncomfortable. I did happen to catch the name of the employee and write it down so I could remember for this... Her name was Zoey. She then spoke with an unpleasant tone that made me feel unwelcomed and like my purchase was no wanted in the store. After placing the order she then was seen later at the pizza area speaking to the other employees and laughing and having a good time... But we did not get the same energy the male coworker was. I love Dions. Please fix the service of the employee... I do wish to come back with a more pleasant experience.
