Wehhh boy let me tell you! I tried 3 out of 5 types of tamales they have, and oh my goodness!!! Best tamales I've ever eaten in my life. The queso was also flavorful along side the refried beans and the rice with it's spice. I will most definitely be getting tamales from here again next month. I've always said that the best places to eat have the smallest menus. This place is proof of that. This is some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten and it's some of the best priced I've ever seen. Zeek is quite the salesman, but he's got the product to back it up. The tamales really are that good.

So good!! We had tamales, a chimichanga, and flautas. Everything was delicious and the staff was super nice, they even remade my chimichanga because I have a dairy allergy and there was cheese in it and I didn't communicate that well on the phone. I forgot to take pictures because I was too busy eating....if you're vegan they have vegan tamales!

The food is absolutely amazing. The menu is small, but there is enough variety to keep you coming back for more. Always ask for the green salsa and add it to the red salsa for an extra kick! You will thank me later ;)

Service was amazing. Being from albuquerque and enjoying the best New Mexican around, I wasn't expecting much from this place. I tried the crispy rellano over brisket from a recommendation, and I was amazed at how good it is.

Food is always great.....there was a snafu with my order and i didnt notice until i got home. It was still good so no complaints because I got to try something I don't usually order.

I think that the food tasted great, especially the salsa. The service was very fast and they would be very respectful to me. The price for the food was way too low for the quality of the food. If anyone needs to eat Mexican food, they should definitely come here.

I have eaten at several Leal's in Muleshoe, Clovis, NM, Amarillo and Lubbock over the past 30 something years. I have always enjoyed excellent TexMex. The food has always been consistent and clean. I have known the family personally starting with Jesse and Irma to the children. I love the cheese enchalades and tacos but all the food is good. You have to watch out not to eat too much chips and salsa before you get your meal.

Best food ever! My dad introduced me to this place when I came to help take care of my mama when she was sick. This was one of his favorite places to eat.....which quickly became one of mine.

What a wonderful place! My husband has been telling me about the Clovis New Mexico location for 11 years. We had the opportunity to stop into the Lubbock location today and let me tell you this is the best food I think I've ever had! Not to mention the gal running the place was so kind and made me feel like part of her family! The tamales are to die for which makes sense because of their name but don't sleep on the crispy chili rellenos. Unfortunately, I will never be able to eat a chili rellenos from somewhere else because it was the best I've ever had!

Oh my goodness, this place is awesome. I come to town a few times a year for work and I always try to stop in here for lunch. Everything is absolutely delicious and served piping hot. The sour cream sauce enchiladas, and the pork tamales are my personal favorites. I’m telling you I eat a ton of tex mex all over the state and this is easily in my top five places to go.nothing fancy here. Just friendly service and food made with love.

We have been to Leal's many times. The food and service is great. I get the chicken enchilada plate with sour cream sauce. The complimentary chips and salsa is delicious! It gets crowded during the busy times so it's good to go early. Many people get take-out.

Food is delicious. I had 2 green chile cheese tamales, cheese enchilada, beans, and rice. My mom had the taco salad and loved it. My grandmother had 2 beef enchiladas, beans, and rice and ate more than she usually does. They also brought us some queso and guacamole at no charge and it was really good. That was also very nice of them. I’d definitely eat here again.

Food and service are always excellent, any time of day. The restaurant and bathroom are always clean. The building itself could use an upgrade, as the dining area is cramped and the only bathroom is in need of repair. Not sure how we could handle them closing down long enough to do the remodel, though!

Leal's is a Regional favorite of West Texas....ESPECIALLY anyone that grew up around Muleshoe where the Original family began. The food was excellent, as always!! The atmosphere is rustic amd very clean. Great value, large plates, moderately priced.

Very small, very friendly with the best, leanest carne guisada I've ever had. Tip: Order the pick-2 or pick-3 to customize your own platter. Order your Xmas tamales early due to extremely high demand and limited supply. I've NEVER left Leal's unsatisfied.

Leal’s has always been a favorite of mine. It is just good food! There prices are also reasonable. The menu at this location is very short and their dining area is very small. So get there early or plan on takeout because it gets packed quick!

The best crispy beef tacos and enchiladas in Lubbock. Great combo specials and the tamales aren't too shabby, either. If you want an extra kick, get their salsa Verde. Great stuff! Great family, place and very friendly staff!

The only place in Lubbock where I go to eat enchiladas & tamales. The sweet iced tea is the best. The owner & staff make you feel like family, so much that you just want to hang around after you've finished your meal. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Vegan Tamales and Fajitas were served fresh and made to order. The service was great and fast. Cashier brought the food out to the car for an elderly couple. Definitely will come back when I'm in town.

Love this little location. Everyone that worked there takes a lot of pride in their job - it obvious. They were ALL very professional. A bonus was that the owner is familiar with the vegan lifestyle and as we were putting our order in and asking questions, she knew, right away and asked: "Are y'all vegan? I'll fix you up. I have a Son that's vegan." They then proceeded to make us the most delicious bean enchiladas that I've ever had. This will be a regular for us. One of the most pleasant dining experiences of my life.

Best crispy tacos in the LBK, hands down. Order the 'pick 3' and you won't be disappointed in any of their choices. The traditional pork tamales are good, the green salsa is great (esp mixed in with the red). Great family, and staff is friendly, as well!

There is Not one bad thing I can say about Leal's! The staff is Always very friendly and accommodating! As soon as you open the door you are Always greeted with the biggest smiles 😃 and an attitude of gratitude. Now the food is on another level! To the point that if we know we will be in the area. We will Not eat, just to save our appetites to eat here! This is a place where it is always worth the wait! Our favorites are the Crispy Chile Rellenos and we add Carne Guisada. This combination is amazing with hot, crispy and fresh all in one! (Hopefully one day I would love to learn how to make them this way! I wouldn't mind eating this everyday) We recently tried the crispy chicken flautas and they were fantastic and chicken has a unique flavor that was really good 👍 Also the tamales are small (not like I'm used to) but very tasty 😋 Crispy Chile Rellenos will always be our main order, but we will definitely keep trying a new item from the menu.. Not one meal has been subpar! But always exceeds our expectations! If you have Not tried Leal's yet... You're missing out! Both the food and service were great. They played good music, though a tad too loud. I got Leal’s Special (taco, tamale, enchilada, beans, rice). Every bite was delicious. I hope to return soon. Good deal for the price, too.

I was greeted right away and even the cashier made a little joke.I joked back about the music they were playing. It truly made my day. He had no idea that day I came in I just finished going to a funeral and visiting an uncle in the hospital. His smile and fun turned my day around and on top of that the food was great and reasonably priced.

This has become my favorite Mexican food restaurant in Lubbock!! I don't understand why I didn't eat here before, but going forward I will. Everything we had was absolutely delicious including the chips and salsa! The sweet tea was so good, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend!!!!

The food is outstanding and delicious . They use good quality meats in their food. You tell by the taste and the meat is very lean. The customer service is the best of all the places in Lubbock I eat at. I’ve been there about 4x for take out and was always pleased .

Had a good time here with a friend of mine. We both got enchiladas and they were delicious! The rice and beans were great and the queso was soooo good with the perfect level of spice to it. We went on a busy day so we waited maybe 15min for a table but it was worth it. The staff was very nice and courteous. If you don't live on that side of town I'd still tell you it's worth it. I can't wait to go back again.

Eat at the one in Amarillo every chance we get. This one just as good! Sister runs this one, brother the one in Amarillo. If back in Lubbock will stop in again for sure! 👍👍

Sorry, we didn't think to take pictures before we ate. Three in party, two had the Special which included tamales, enchilada and taco. The other had enchiladas. The chips, salsa and queso were outstanding, as we're all three meals. And the ice tea was the best in Lubbock. Our server was so great, he kept the chips, salsa and tea refills coming before we even asked. This restaurant isn't fancy by any means, but makes up for that by their awesome food and service. It's one of Lubbock's hidden treasures, you should try it.

We called and ordered a family pack and added a dozen green chili cheese tamales to be ready to pick up on 5/26 around 5:45pm. When we arrived to pick up our order, they were just throwing together the tacos so they would be as fresh as possible for us when we got home. Everything else was hot and ready. We got a dozen enchiladas (half beef and half chicken), and dozen tacos, a quart of rice and a quart of beans, two gallons of tea, and two salsas with two bags of chips. Everything was very delicious, but my favorites were definitely the tamales and the salsa. This was more than enough to feed eight people, and everyone loved the food. Great way to feed a large party for a great price. We will be back!

Leal’s is fantastic. I’ve been here for lunch and dinner on multiple occasions. My go to dish is the Chile relleno served with carne guisada. So yummy, I crave it. Leal’s is currently my top choice for Mexican/Tex-Mex in Lubbock.

The place was not very busy when I went, only two other tables, so I would expect my waitress to at least refill my tea when empty about a third of the way through my meal but never happened even though several walk bys.

Solid food, good tamales, nice salsa. Service was quick and responsive. Place was busy, but we got a seat immediately and had our food in less than ten minutes.

Chili Relleno was great and the food was fresh and warm. Food smells and looks good. One recommendation to the staff please DONT eat or drink near the STATION where you fix your plates, just isn't sanitary.

The food is good but is not anything spectacular. The setting is typical for an older Mexican restaurant and the counter service was great. I would go back for a quick but decent meal.

I got the chicken fajitas and my friend got the Leo’s special. Both were really good and delicious. Kind of a hole in the wall place but really good. Service was a little inconsistent. We didn’t have silverware. My food came out five minutes after myfriends food. I would recommend this place though the food was really good.

Not like the regular Leal's in Clovis. This is pick up mostly with just a few small tables. Flavors were the same, and the staff friendly. Because you are missing the atmosphere is just seemed a bit pricy for what you got.

Very nice place to go for mexican food. Nice and small dining room. We go here about once a week. They have some great tasting specials. I would highly recommend eating if you like eating good food.

Enchiladas were not hot but tasty enough. Plate was hot and heated the enchiladas. Tacos were not as good as they should be. Everything was good enough. We would go back and eat there. I would tell them to make sure food was hot. Kind of a fluke because rice and beans were hot. Chicken enchiladas were very good. Coke was in a bottle and good (cane sugar). I think the service was excellent.

The food was really good. The server didn't check on us at all after dropping off our food. We could have used some refills. As far as the atmosphere, it was very hot inside. I'd hate to be there on a summer day. The tables also didn't look the cleanest.

This restaurant is located near our house but we rarely eat from there. The grilled catfish was good, except it only had a butter sauce....no other flavor. The guacamole was a bit brown and tasted alright. The enchiladas were great in red sauce. However, the pinto beans were a bit too salty.

We paid $48 for 5 whole beef and cheese nacho plates just to find out there were only 2 corn tortillas cut up in half and they called that a whole nacho plate. It is absolutely ridiculous to pay $14 a plate for 2 cut up corn tortillas with a sprinkle of beef and almost no cheese we could have went to the grocery store bought the chips,cheese e.t.c. for less then what we paid here. We will not be going back I do not recommend it.

The waiter was kind, but the food quality was poor and the portions were very small for the price. I was really looking forward to having a good tamale but it was flavorless and not very good. The restroom was also very dirty.

Food is good. I didn't want to post this review but decided it needed to be done. I order food to go from here multiple times a month, food is NEVER ready when I get there. Most of the time it's barely starting to be made when I show up. This is so frustrating. I have also witnessed several employees not wearing gloves while preparing food. No matter how many times they have washed their hands prior, it is still unsanitary to prepare customers food with their bare hands. Also, I order the SAME exact meals here every time and EVERY TIME, the price is completely different. Sometimes the price difference is as much as 7 to 9 dollars. It makes me wonder if the owner seems to make up random prices while cashing me out. I never say anything to her because she's always been nice. But it would be nice to know why the prices are completely different every time for the same meal I get. It's definitely not a way to run a local business if you want to keep customers. I'm sorry I had to post this but I felt it needed to be done.

I'm gonna be honest the food was pretty good per usual but man that dude you got cooking is gross. The hacking all over everything not covering his cough. Talking about his sore throat and cussing every other word, loudly and Obnoxiously flirting with the waitress by the register. I regret coming in for a sit down lunch today. I had to get a to go box and finish my lunch at home. Dude was trashy as hell. Strongly suggest you get rid of those tables right at the front or get rid of him.

Was not happy with my recent visit. When I entered, I asked for a burrito menu. I was told that I could order anything and make it a burrito and that they didn't have one. I decided on two burrito and when given the price of $11.89, I commented, "WOW! Those are expensive burritos." The individual didn't say anything, so I paid for the burritos. As I waited for my food, I decided to look over the menu. It was then, that I saw a "Burrito plate" which included two burritos and sides for $8.99. I informed the server, who was not the gentleman who took my order, that this was poor customer service and management should know. I am writing this to make sure it gets known and for others to be aware. Thanks

Food wasn't what I thought it would be wasn't happy with my meal. Taco shells weren't crispy they were just hard rice wasn't good ,beans were ok. Chips weren't cooked right salsa was ok. Best coke in a bottle, my husband's meal wasn't good tamales weren't good same taco as mine yuck. Rice no good ,enchilada wasn't good. Service was good. Period
