I had a wonderful experience here on my recent trip to Madrid. The service was outstanding. My server, Victor, was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. As a solo traveler, I am always on the lookout for spots near my hotel where the staff makes me feel at home. Because the staff was so warm and friendly, during my week in Madrid I visited this spot twice for food and once for drinks. The location is ideal for enjoying the people watching and taking in the vibe of the Plaza Mayor. The three dishes I tried were very good and the wines by the glass were very good as well. An excellent choice if you are looking for a spot to chill out and experience the sights and sounds of the vibrant Plaza.

Tuvimos una cena muy amena. La atención es excelente, los mozos son cracks. La comida está bien, no es espectacular. Comímos 3 paellas (valenciana, negra y mariscos), croquetas. Bar típico de la Plaza Mayor de toda la vida. Local pequeño, dividido con el anejo. Camareros de toda la vida con su "librea" blanca. Los bocadillos buenos, pero los hay mejores, las patatas buenas, pero las hay mejores. La salsa brava sin embargo es MUY buena, pocas hay mejores. Pagan un sobrecoste (especialmente en las bebidas) por la ubicación, el ambiente y el servicio, pero no desmerece. Vale la visita.

Restaurante situado en una de las principales plazas de Madrid, buen ambiente y buen servicio. Las bebidas están bien, el plato de calamares estuvo rico. La paella negra algo seca, nada excepcional, hemos probado mejores. Precios razonables.

Nos sentamos y un camarero con patillas y gafas vino a atendernos. Nos dio un servicio pésimo y nos trató fatal, luego vino el encargado y se disculpó. Todos los demás nos trataron genial el café riquísimo y tal cual lo pedimos. Nos alegramos de habernos quedado pero ojalá la próxima vez el señor de las patillas desmesuradas no esté trabajando allí.

Great location and enjoyable experience. This is right in Plaza Mayor so expect a tourist filled restaurant with matching food and service. We stopped there with the children for an hour or so and enjoyed a few small dishes and drinks. Our waiter was great with the children and had an entertainingly gruff manner which he used for comedic effect. If you can get a take right on the edge of the square it's great for some people watching too.

El bar Tineo, en plena Plaza Mayor de Madrid, tiene como punto positivo la amabilidad del personal, que en todo momento fue correcto y atento. Sin embargo, eso no compensa el estado general del local. La limpieza deja mucho que desear: los manteles están claramente viejos y descuidados, y lo más desagradable es la acumulación de polvo y migas de pan en las juntas entre la madera superior y el alicatado inferior, algo que da la sensación de no haberse limpiado en meses, incluso años. En cuanto a la comida, es normal, sin nada destacable, comí porque no había sitio en ningún otro lado. Una experiencia bastante mejorable, especialmente teniendo en cuenta la ubicación.

Una experiencia mala en general lo único bueno fue la amabilidad del camarero en realidad de comer solo el jamón ibérico que es solo cortarlo servía la paella de marisco era solo arroz 2 mejillones y 3 camarones literalmente la sangría solo naranja sin ninguna otra fruta el pan parecía viejo el más malo que e comido en España sigo creyendo que los lugares verdaderamente turísticos son la peor gastronomía del mundo aquí en Madrid probaré otros para poder documentarlo mejor pero está a sido la peor experiencia de este viaje por España la ubicación es muy buena en plena plaza mayor y el señor que te invita a pasar al lugar desde la plaza es muy bueno es por eso que está lleno pero es quemando clientes yo no volvería a un lugar como este 0 de 💯 noviembre le doy una estrella por sus empleados de servicio fueron buenos los precios son como los del área pero con calidad inferior

I have to agree about the food ... not good. I got a pizza for a change of pace, but that was a bad idea. The dough was super weird - hard and dry and fell to pieces like a cracker when you cut into it or bit into it. Otherwise, the servers were fast and friendly, so stopping by for a few drinks is fine.

Si pudiera darle menos estrellas, se las daba. Desde el principio ha ido de mal en peor. Nada más sentarnos, nos retiran el salvamantel que había sucio, nos sirven la comida encima de un mantel más sucio todavía y nos toca pedir que nos pongan uno limpio. Lo mejor, es que nos contestan que no tienen ninguno, para después quitarle el de la mesa de atrás que se estaban levantando, usado y ponérnoslo a nosotros, con la siguiente contestación con fuera de tono: “Toma para que estéis agusto y en ambiente” Continúo con la comida. Pedimos media ración de jamón ibérico…. jamón había, que fuera ibérico ya parece que era mucho pedir. La tortilla de patata, más fina que el plato, que parecía la típica tortilla francesa que te hacen cuando estás con dieta blanda. Y para terminar, las croquetas de boletus….. Cuatro croquetas, 2€ cada una, del tamaño de una cereza. Sin duda lo único que mereció la pena fue el agua y porque nos ayudó a pasar el mal trago. En resumen, ya no solo ha sido el palo que nos han metido en la cuenta por lo poco que hemos comido, es que ni el trato, ni el servicio, ni la calidad de la comida merecen estar en plena Plaza Mayor de Madrid. If you’re there now, leave. Don’t waste your time and money. It’s a tourist trap. If you decide to stay, you’ve been warned. Maybe your experience is better than ours. So you should expect overpriced, sometimes poor quality food and poor service. We ordered the 3 tapas and 2 soft drinks and no bread. The waiter was not good at his job and gave us an attitude when we paid our bill. He didn’t explain to us when we ordered that one on the tapas was not available, the melon wrapped in jamon until we asked about it because he said to was too late already and they changed the menu. It didn’t make sense. A poor excuse for bad service. Also he tried to sneak an order of mushrooms when we didn’t order it and gave us order of bread. Anyways, we ordered octopus salad to substitute the jamon wrapped in melon and that was bad in taste. By the way, be aware, they will charge you for the bread it’s not complimentary and they would have charged us for the mushrooms plate if I did accept it and make sure you tell your waiter the portion because they will assume the larger size and I had to correct that as well.

The patatas bravas came with a sauce that tasted canned, and the paella was underwhelming. To make things worse, when we asked for three glasses of water, one waiter refused, saying it wasn’t his job - even though another had already brought water earlier without issue. The restaurant does have a nice view and location, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.

What a disappointing that place is! Great view of the plaza but this is where it ends. They are super nice to attract you but the attitude change as soon as you sit on a table. Typical tourist trap to catch you on every corners. Service was terrible, food well below average and not fresh, sangria was from a gallon you purchase at the grocery and they share the kitchen with 1-2 others restaurants. But the worst was the end. The server just show me the final amount, which wasn’t balancing to us. We asked for the details, server got upset, force me to pay quickly, only to realize they added charges without ordering when we got the details, after a few insults. This is what I call a total rip off, I imagine they do this numerous times a day to tourist. Never again!

I think this is the worst restaurant in all madrid. The service is really bad, the food is tasteless as if its served in hospital. The paella is ordered came almost rice and you can literally count the sea food.Although we’ve checked the google rating but due to the rush they have we decided myself and my wife to try. Not recommended at all.
