Delicious food and the only kosher restaurant in Malibu.
What more can one say after other positive reviews but this place is absolutely fabulous. Fresh, tasty and a lot. Walk up counter with service to 4-5 tables. A bit crowded. The best pita in my life. For a vegan this place is like the Gold Coast.
Beautiful view, lovely location across from the Malibu pier, gracious service. I had the fish kabob. Delicious seasoning. Everything was good. My first time at the location. I have been tempted to go before but crowded om the weekend. Crowded on the weekend is good a visual recommendation .The meal was better then I expected.
Pitabu for the win!!! The staff, atmosphere and most importantly the food is absolutely incredible. We ordered fish a chips and a salmon plate, could not get over this meal!! The fish is fresh and the salads and delicious and so tasty. Everything has great flavor. Need to mention the sauces, chipotle aioli and chimichuri sauce. Don’t skip it!! Guys run here now!!!!!!!! also gorgeous view and super cool staff. Coming back BH!!!
Wow! Incredible, authentic, flavorful food! We ordered the salmon & falafel plates and were impressed! Great big portions and every side dish was incredible. The flavors were *chef’s kiss*!
Delicious food. I got the salmon fish platter. The ingredients were fresh and the restaurant had a great vibe.
if i’m not mistaken the whole menu seems plant based, if not HUGE vegan menu. cute little shop in the heart of downtown malibu with a nice outdoor dining area.
Loved this place! Fresh tasty food. Came super quick and great service. Highly recommend and would come back
Hey folks, just had to drop a quick shoutout to Pita Bu in Malibu, and let me tell ya, it was good! 🌮🎉 I swung by for some fish tacos, and holy guacamole, they were out of this world! Perfectly crispy fish, packed with flavor, and that homemade salsa? *Chef's kiss* Seriously, my taste buds are still doing a happy dance. If you're in the area and craving some seriously good eats, do yourself a favor and hit up Pita Bu. You won't regret it! 🌯🌴 #FishTacoHeaven
Absolutely delicious and perfect in every way! Lots of vegan and animal based options. Friendly staff and a cute patio to sit and eat facing the beach. A reasonable price point for the area and quality, as well. I’ll definitely be coming back!!
Vegan Shawarma was messy, but totally worth it. Kind, generous owner with a great smile. Fun atmosphere. Definitely recommend it!
The best fish taco I've ever had. Incredible!
This restaurant and the staff are amazing. The food is fresh, healthy and delicious! To top it off, They are part of the central kitchen to feed hard hit areas (CA fires), so they're offering free meals--- that blew me away ! so generous and amazing. Got to try this place. I will be back.🙏👍
I recently dined at Pita Bu and was thoroughly impressed by their dedication to supporting first responders with complimentary delicious food. The menu at Pita Bu offers a delightful variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, I enjoyed a flavorful fish sandwich can't wait to try the falafel. Thank you Eleanor and Tamar for your kindness and generosity 🙏
Friendly stuff and Oren the owner. Delicious food ate the falafel and fish tacos that were great fresh and tasty.the only problem is the parking.
It was a great experience here. Casual and welcoming. Best part was the FRESH ingredients that tasted like they directly came from the field and the ocean. Most of all, their customer service was excellent! Special thanks to staff that served us a great meal even before the opening hours. (Due to flight schedule) Would love to visit again when I fly to Malibu!❤️
Great spot across from the beach! I’m gluten free and the kind gentleman taking my order offered me extra falafels and an extra yam since I couldn’t have the pita bread which was sooo nice and almost never happens. Food was fresh, quick, and delicious!
My first time here. They were still running a summer special which is a falafel wrap, fries, and a beverage. So delicious and fresh! Good quality. The falafel was made just right, not dry, and lots of crunchy vegetables with great flavors. Fries done right and good size portions. I took my food to go and sat on the malibu pier across the street, a beautiful day, and had a delightful meal!
Great spot off the beach. Ingredients are super fresh. Workers are friendly and smiling. Tons of veggie options. A few fish choices too. Make sure to get the S'chug (spicy) sauce. It's deliciously green.
Delicious kosher food. I recommend the falafel wrap and salmon tacos. They were very accommodating to a soy allergy. Parking is crazy limited. I'd order ahead and take it to go. It's worth the trouble.
Amazing and fresh food with a beautiful atmosphere!
Wow. What a fantastic little place that packs a huge punch. Vegan and tasty??? Yes!! The food is fresh. The size is fair and the location is priceless. Simple solid food. Best of all it’s kosher! I’m a fan of falafel all the more so falafel by the sea. Two thumbs up!:)
I recently visited Pita 'Bu, a vegetarian restaurant, and I must say, I had a fantastic experience. I ordered the fish kabob in a pita, and it exceeded my expectations in terms of freshness and taste. The fish was incredibly fresh, and perfectly cooked. It was complemented by a delightful combination of spices and flavors that made every bite a delight. The accompanying fries were equally impressive. They were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The seasoning was spot on, adding an extra layer of deliciousness to the meal. I was impressed by how well the fries complemented the fish kabob, creating a well-rounded and satisfying meal. One thing that stood out to me during my visit was the attention to detail and quality of ingredients. Everything felt carefully sourced, and it truly reflected in the flavors. As someone who appreciates vegetarian and vegan options, I was thrilled to see a variety of choices on the menu. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Pita 'Bu, where I plan to try their vegan schwarma. If it's anything like the fish kabob, I'm sure I won't be disappointed. The restaurant's commitment to providing high-quality vegetarian and vegan options is commendable. The atmosphere of Pita 'Bu was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was prompt, and my food arrived quickly. Overall, Pita 'Bu is a vegetarian restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The fish kabob in a pita was fresh and delicious, and the fries were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying their vegan schwarma as well. Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan, or simply looking for a tasty and satisfying meal, Pita 'Bu is definitely worth a visit. I will undoubtedly be back soon to explore more of their delectable menu options.
great pita with falafel!! even gave a sample to try beforehand
Love everything about this place. The freshest food, clean and fun vibe, friendly staff, and quick service. Everything tasted so delicious and fresh with only super clean ingredients. One of my favorite places to go when we’re out on the coast. HIGHLY recommend.
Chanced upon this little restaurant on our drive to Malibu. Pitas were really incredible to our surprise! Food took quite long but it was worth the wait. Well recommended

I loved working with Pita Bu for a catering order! They made everything so easy and helped us order the perfect amount of food. Everyone there is super friendly and so communicative. The food was delicious, ready on time, and the pita bread was out of this world. Definitely recommend!
This place has delicious food! I ate here while I was in the area visiting family. Lots of hummus and pita platters with salad and veggies, and great fish platters as well. Fish was very tender and well cooked. No meat or dairy. Would highly recommend even if you aren't looking for kosher food.
Pita Bu One of my favorite on the go grab and go resturants in Malibu! Zeferino the manger is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on ordering. The Salmon plate is amazing everything homemade! Reasonable yet delicious food ! Highly recommend.
Was looking for a quick place to have meal, and I was happy to find this place. The food was fresh and delicious and the customer service was realky welcoming too. Definitely recommend to try it out

Really good fish! Just wish there were some chicken or beef options. Very welcoming service with a lot of uniqueness.
Overlooking the ocean and the bustling traffic of PCH is a little place in Malibu that will change your impression of falafel. You know, the dry, tasteless hockey pucks that you wished you’d ordered a steak kabob. After a first bite you find the bright, herbal, green interior that makes you feel like you don’t have enough. Housemade pita, hummus, tabouli, toum (that creamy concoction of garlic, lemon, salt and oil) So satisfying. Next trip I’ll try the shawarma.

I’ve always loved Pitabu’s Mezza Platter for its variety of dips, sauces, spices, and lots of flavors — it used to be absolutely amazing! Recently, they changed their menu, and it’s no longer the same. Please be aware that it’s different from what it used to be they do not have all the dips and sauces and it is bland.

Intriguing but pricey falafel option near Malibu Pier. Fresh ingredients, dense falafel: The falafel offers vibrant flavors, but the texture might be a bit heavy for some. Cleanliness concerns: The tables could benefit from more thorough cleaning. Overall: This spot provides an interesting take on falafel, but the higher price point and cleanliness issues should be considered before you decide.
We did takeout last week and food including Hummus was great. Bought hummus again on Sunday, completely tasteless! They were really busy but almost feels like they forgot to add a key ingredient.

Not sure how this place received such high ratings? We walked in, the place completely empty, two workers who didn’t acknowledge us. We eventually noticed there was a TV screen to order from. Food came out one at a time. My husband was half way through his wrap by the time mine came. Ordered the grilled sea bass tacos and the whole thing was drenched in beet root sauce?? Really disappointed with the food and service. Will appreciate that Gypsy Kings was the music of choice on the speakers.

I wouldn't know about the food, as we didn't actually get to order any. We walked in to grab and go. The person at the front allowed three people walk in and cut in front of us in line. It's a tiny shop so rather difficult to unintentionally cut in front of someone. We felt the person at the front just simply didn't want us there for some reason. One of the people that cut in line came in to pick up their order and had a ton of kids that were just running around where the food is being prepared and had a ton of special requests. It was chaos. The people preparing the food looked up, annoyed, making eye contact with us, and announced that the wait for food would be at least 45 minutes, thus making it clear they didn't want our business. It was absolutely chaotic, rude, etc. so we left empty handed and ate at Malibu Farm Cafe on the pier, which had no wait, was friendly, and welcoming.
I placed an online order for 3:00 PM, only to be told it’d take “another 10 minutes.” Meanwhile, later orders kept flying out before mine. By 3:30, my food still wasn’t ready, and I had to leave empty-handed—refusing me a refund was the final insult. Absolutely shameful service.
I made an order for pick up during normal business hours. They were closed. If you’re going to be closed, don’t take orders through Toast or other apps. They don’t have a phone number and no way to get a refund.
I wish I could give a higher rating. But honestly I tried. But for the price and what you get its not worth it. I have had better street food and this restaurant does not come close. We had the fish kabob plate and one in a pita. The plate was $42 and the pita fish kabob was $22. 1. Portion small 0 out of 5. 2. Value: 0 out of 5. Not worth it. Too expensive. Small portion. Little flavor of fish. Actually I never tasted fish. No fish filled either. It was a tiny fish patty that seemed to include bread, celery, carrots, but no fish. 3. Quality: 0 out of 5. Did not taste like fish. Small fish patties not filled. 4. Ambiance: 0 out of 5. Ocean view but plain. Non comforting. 5. Food presentation: 3 of 5. But its not about looks. It lacked quality and quantity.

It’s right next to beach and last time I was here I was told to cover up as it was a family restaurant- I was in a very modest swimsuit and shorts—— also you are a casual beach cafe. Wish they would have told me that before I ordered then I would have left and not paid for attempted to eat some very bad fish tacos- very sad as I thought the food would be okay- but no. They would be average low average if you were paying taco truck in Baja prices but for a Malibu price - oy vey. So excited for the Greek place to open up down the street!
