Cool coffee spot with plugs for working. There are 5 tables downstairs with plugs. There are tables upstairs too but no plugs. Coffee was pretty premium although it is a little pricy, worth the price for the nice hang out spot :)

Love love love Black Velvet Coffee! I love all of their teas and their dirty chai tea latte! They give away cute stickers for free! And of course I had to buy their beanie with their really cute logo on it and it’s in my favorite color! I definitely recommend everyone tries this wee coffee shop out! You won’t be disappointed!

This is our go to coffee shop when in Mammoth. The baristas are always friendly, and the coffee is delicious. Today I got a vanilla latte and was asked what kind of milk I wanted. Surprisingly they have almond and oat milk available with no up charge! Love this place and highly recommend.

This spot has a very modern but rather eclectic setup. Good service. I enjoyed my latte. Wife enjoyed her tea which was brewed from a teabag the barista filled by hand from a jar of tea leaves. Never seen tea made that way before. I'd recommend this spot if you're in the area.

This coffee roaster looked way so different from the other cafes or coffee shops I have been to. It had this whole rugged look, which reminded me mostly of a barn. It had the old look yet had a modern feel to it. It had a variety of options if you drink, If I am not wrong they have happy hours as well. Anyways , I was confused on what to order mocha or dirty chai, based on the Barista’s suggestion I went ahead and ordered Dirty Chai which was really good. It had some sort of fresh feeling to the chai, it felt luxurious and a feeling of comfort at the same time. We also ordered Latte, which was not as great as Dirty Chai , but still it was good in its own way, In my opinion it could have been better. The Barista working up there was really very sweet and friendly. One thing I liked about this coffee house is that , they take order and make it right in front of you, which was also quick. Definitely recommend to visit this place when up in mammoth lakes , you will not regret it.

Espresso is great here! Food is very limited to waffles and muffins so don’t come here if you’re looking for a big breakfast. No egg burritos or egg muffins or eggs etc. highly recommend for espresso. The place could use to be refurbished not great seating and decorations but for cofffee it’s fine. Besides that haven’t tried it for wine

Love the design of this place! It also feels a very professional coffee roasters. I had a decaf oat milk cappuccino, it tastes a little bit more acidic than my taste, but the flavor is nice. I’ll say it’s a good place to chill, sit down to work or rest, but the drink itself is not my taste. Also I feel the barista is not very welcoming.

When we first walked in, the iPad on the counter was facing customers and there was no barista at the counter, so my friend naturally checked it, assuming it was where you place orders. That’s when the barista with long black hair suddenly rushed toward her and spoke to her in a very loud, condescending tone—so loud that other customers turned to look. It was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. What concerns us even more is that we later saw another review from someone who had almost the exact same experience with the iPad and the same barista. It really makes us feel like the issue isn’t with customers being confused, but with how this particular barista chooses to speak to people. The blonde barista, on the other hand, was very kind and welcoming, which shows the service can be good. Our drinks were great, but the attitude and unprofessional behavior from the barista with long black hair ruined the visit. No customer should ever be treated like that.

I got so screwed at this place… I just wanted a large iced latte I was willing to pay what I thought would probably be a high price. Little did I know a large iced latte is 12 oz, the straw doesn’t even fit in the tiny cup, and $11! I was flabbergasted I couldn’t even speak when the tiny cup was set on the counter🤣 my fingers literally touch lol! I had checked reviews before coming thinking it had to be good and made a grand costly mistake coming here. Went next door to Schat’s bakery and the prices are CUT IN HALF on coffee! And they have donuts. I got the rest of what I thought I needed in coffee here (16oz for 4.95), a donut, and a ham and cheese croissant all for $9. Omg I got stolen from so bad at this place. Take your money to the bakery next door for real.

RUDEST BARISTA EVER!!! Our visit to this coffee shop was extremely disappointing. When we walked in, we saw an ipad facing customers, so we naturally assumed it was for placing orders. My friend started checking the ipad and the barista w/ dark hair suddenly approached us and said “HELLO,WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GUYS DOING?!” in a very RUDE and AGGRESSIVE tone. We were all shocked. Instead of offering help or guidance, her attitude made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The way she spoke to us completely ruined the experience. If I could give zero stars, i would!!! No customer should ever be treated like that.

My bf and I have come in a few times now that we live in town full time. We've wanted to like this place because the setting feels nice but a few of the girls behind the counter continue to come off very unpleasant and condescending, not just to us but others as well. It's unfortunate to experience and see but I think it's safe to say that we'll be making our rounds for coffee elsewhere from now on. There are friendlier places with good coffee options.
