I LOVEEEEEEEEE this place!! The burritos are my favorite!! They're always hot and super fresh. Beef and chicken are some of the choices for meat. You can also get the burrito drizzled with red or green sauce. You also get chips and salsa. I love the salsa!!! The salsa is not spicy so all you people who don't like spicy, it's perfect for you. Staff is pretty friendly.
This tiny Mexican joint has been making friends since 1969. Authentic and wonderful Mexican meals! Seating is very minimal, mostly at the counter however, don’t let that stop you! Delicious, flavorful and fast service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such good food for a great value!! And the employees were very kind and attentive as well. Will be coming back thank you :)
I've been a customer since the early 90's. Stopped in a few days ago and it's still the same awesome food and service. Prices have gone up but that's true of everything ha. Highly recommended for good local Mexican food. Small joint so you may want to get your food to go.
If you like Carne Asada you gonna love this place. little restaurant with only about seating for 10. You won't be disappointed.
Once we arrived we were greeted and we felt comfortable instantly 😌 i would recommend anybody too go there and the food was hot 🔥 and it tasted good 👍🏿
Great experience. Great service. Great atmosphere. Fast and convent. Remember to put money in meter. Parking enforcement is there especially around 9pm or right before. Don't have to pay after 9pm. They will ticket you at 8;58pm.
This is one of the best restaurants in all of Los Angeles. The food and service is amazing. You will not be disappointed. Go there and eat!!!
Best food I have ever had.
I've been eating here ever since I was a kid. Visiting after several years I was incredibly happy to see that not only had nothing changed, but in fact, the tastes had somehow improved! The service in the tightly packed, yet cozy, Manhattan Beach location was stellar. This is the best burrito I have ever eaten.
This place has the best steak burrito I’ve ever eaten. The vibe is so nostalgic. It’s a very small place but cool to see. Also the chips are great but the salsa is spicy so be careful
I used to live in the house just to the left of the restaurant. O the memories!
Their Super Deluxe burro is the best! I’ve been going to this place for more than 50 years and it never disappoints. Great staff, food and prices. All two blocks from the beach🤙 A must if your in Manhattan Beach.
easily the best Mexican restaurant we've eaten at, and that includes the time we lived here in the 90s when there was a place down the street on 2nd St in Hermosa that blew everyone else away at the time. The guys are super friendly, the food is the best, the chips don't come in a bag like they do elsewhere, they showed me fresh ones waiting to be cooked up, the prices are really cheap for what you would pay elsewhere, while I ate there were people queuing (lining) out the door for pickups. It's a long way from Australia, but trust me I'll be back here for sure next time we're in Southern California, and oh loved the different bank notes from around the world on the wall!
The food was absolutely amazing! It came out in a timely manner, the staff was very friendly, the food tasted delicious! I was in town for a trip and stopped here as my last meal. It was worth the wait <3 definitely coming back next time I'm in town!
Insanely good. Super authentic Mexican food the chicken burrito was really good, one of the best I've had honestly. My brother got the asada fries which were delicious also. They also served us super fresh warm chips and the service was great as well. The guy helping us was super nice and the place had a great vibe for a quick bite or to get great takeout.
The Manhattan Beach location is the one that always brings it! Everything is very tasty and the staff is wonderful. If I'm eating in, I'll go for one of the "platos”: carnitas or carne asada. For takeout , the burritos can't be beat: "wet" or "dry”.
Good price. Great quality and servings. Kids love the "big chips". The seating is very limited but well worth the trip. Carry out is an option. This is t your sit down and have a beer place. There for the quick and amazing food.
Been coming here for 15+ years. Red Salsa is delicious, carne asada burrito (wet) is my go to order and has never let me down. Lengua tacos/burrito are also 🔥 It’s the type of place that knows what it is (surf side tacos and burritos) and executes it to perfection without trying to be something it’s not. 9.2/10; could be more consistent but I award brownie points for being open super late
I have had a lot of Mexican food all over the United States. This has to be one of the best versions I have ever had!
El Tarasco's is right near the Pacific Ocean in a popular area of Manhattan Beach. It is a little place with counter seating for 4 or 5 people. They also have take out and delivery. The place is very small and not at all fancy. It is authentic and has super Mexican food you will love at reasonable prices, unlike most of the eateries in Manhattan Beach. All of their food is fresh. This is traditional Mexican food and they have great tacos, burritos, rice and beans and the best guacamole. The service is very nice and fast. You will be well taken care of at El Tarasco's. Parking is on the street and you may need to walk a wee bit once you find a spot. You will love this little hole in the wall.
Excellent experience all the way around!! Every bit of good was amazing and made to order. The staff was very attentive and kind.
This place was very close to where I stayed in Manhattan Beach City. I had 4 meals at least every week during my stay in Manhattan Beach City. You can eat very delicious Mexican good and people are really nice in El Terasco.
I would give this place a 10 start if I could. I drive all the way to LA at times just to enjoy their food. I love the wet burritos. The staffs are really welcoming and friendly. The place has a beach view too. Clean place, has bar type seatings. Can get crowded but in my opinion worth the wait. Cant wait to go back and have some more of the delicious food.
Love this place! It is a mini bar-style restaurant that serves affordable Mexican Food. I ate the fish tacos which are awesome! I also got the orange bang drink- which is like an orange soda float (root beer float style). The restaurant won’t have formal tables (just bar eating). They have a rooftop as well. My friend ordered the Super Jr burrito (pictured below).
Start shuffle, great Mexican food near the water.Good.\nThat's perfect
El Tarasco? Five stars, hands down!! This is your spot for real Mexican food. Amazing carnitas, killer salsa, and the vibe is totally chill. Forget everywhere else, just go here. You're welcome.
Years coming here since I was a kid my dad would bring us here often . Enjoy the hardshell tacos 🌮. The cook does all types of excellent things.
I love this place so much! They are always so nice, food is affordable & tasty plus they always take my special requests even if it’s a DoorDash order they do exactly what I asked! My favorite Mexican spot in the South Bay!
The story of how this place came into existence, the food, the staff ALL of it is great! You can read about the history on the menu. It's a small restaurant, but we were lucky to get there at a perfect moment and found seats easily on the counter barstools. About 10 min later, it got busy, and the line started forming our the door. The cooks and server are very friendly.
Mane food was fire 🔥 2 tacos each pollo, steak and carnitas with everything.
Been coming here for 20 years. Still the same quality and taste!!
As close to a 10/10 burrito as you can get. Absolutely 🔥 the carnitas was amazing now I’m excited to try the carne asada 🔥
Oscar was really nice, the atmosphere is great I wish the food had a little bit more flavor.. But other than that everything was awesome 😎
Been going to my amigos at el trasco since early eighties every time after surfing el porto (not stinko). Now I take my family and friends (from all over the place) to visit el T in beautiful sunny el porto. Thank you!!
Perfect post-beach meal! The California Burrito — Asada, French Fries, Guac + Cheese. Loved their crispy whole tortillas (I've have never had them served this way before) + fresh salsas. This was our first time + everyone in my family enjoyed their meals, which ranged from Tostadas, Nachos + Tacos. The service was great — kind, super helpful in suggesting items + quick.
Omg! This place was sooooo good! I love mexican food! Really fast service! Can order to go if you like! Very good customer service! They have A review. I would highly recommend if you are near manhattan beach area. I can't wait to visit this place again. I woke up thinking about my quesadilla. Excellent job guys!
This is a small place. Tables are more like counter tops. The food is very tasty 🤤. Bad thing it's meter parking in front of shop or across the street. Sadly I don't think they have a bathroom for employees. The meat was cooked fresh when I got there. Might not always be the case. As I was eating, I saw the cook cooking a lot of meat/beef. It's understandable to get orders out faster.
How am I just now giving this place 5 stars - after 8 years of hitting this place weekly. The crew who run this place fills it with spirit and make it even better. Props to Mr T and his band of cooks. Ask him to show you how he can drink two 32oz beers in one gulp.
There is nothing better than el Tarasco, rosecrans Manhattan beach. I come back to socal twice a year to visit family and we never go back without stopping here. The chicken (hard shell fried) taco is the best in the world... make sure to order a side of guacamole, their habenero salsa and cheese quesadilla. If u want to branch out carne asada tacos or the junior burrito deluxe.. ,ant go wrong. Sitting at bar stools 300 feet from the beach at a genuine taco stand that's out of this world checks all the boxes. Bring your appetite morning or late night.
Stopped for dinner at El Tarascó before flying out of LAX. Everything was delicious!! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Service was quick and all of the employees were friendly and welcoming. Prices are fair and portions are huge! Vibes were perfect, with counter style service and great music
Incredible Mexican food with fantastic fast service. It may not look like much when you see it, but this little restaurant will serve you some of the best Mexican food you have ever tried. Everything is prepared on site and prepared fast. There is counter seats for about a dozen people inside and picnic tables above for seating. You can see from my picture that I loved the meal. I had a tostada and my wife had enchiladas. Both were great! Highly recommend if you are in Manhattan Beach.
Phenomenal!! Flavors are so good, tacos are huge! Service is awesome! The guy is so nice. Food is so fast. Just what we needed after getting back from traveling. We were so hungry and could not have been happier! They give you 1/4 of a lime with you tacos which I feel like I never see, always just little tiny dry wedges, not here. Loved that touch. Salsa was amazing, super cilantro forward 🤘🏼
I recently visited this fantastic Mexican restaurant near Manhattan Beach and had an amazing experience! I ordered the torta carne asada, and it was absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. They also gave me a few chips with two tasty salsas, which were a great addition. The vibes and atmosphere here were super cool and welcoming. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone looking for great Mexican food and a chill place to hang out!
I used to go here 40 years ago when I lived around the corner. It was the place to go for a very late night out! They currently stay open till 230am Thursday through the weekend. My go to is the carne asada burrito "mojado" (wet). Tasty sauce! UPDATE still awesome and a couple blocks from the beach!
It’s a very small hole-in-the-wall place to get amazing authentic Mexican food! The breakfast burritos are incredible and I loved the enchiladas. The chips and salsa are also great. Prices are reasonable. You could eat there but there are only a few chairs so plan for the food to be take out! VictorB
I love Mexican cuisine and I've traveled extensively to satisfy my need for said comfort food. I think I've found the epicenter of the beautiful enchilada and burrito but most importantly the taquito. The food was pure bliss, service was over the top and the establishment was everything i wanted and more in a hole in the wall taquitery (if that's a term) We all walked away soooo satisfied and impressed that we walked back to our vrbo in silence. Thank you for the 90 minute trip in time back to 1970's Mexico and Mamma's Hacienda. I'm greatly appreciative.
Heard about this place from a stranger we met at the airport. So glad he shared it with us. The salsa is the best I’ve ever had. The fish tacos were amazing and the super deluxe burrito was great as well. I would recommend to anyone and will stop back anytime we are in town. Thanks El Tarasco!
Solid Mexican food. Veggie burrito does not disappoint. The chips and salsa are also a nice treat. Their phone wasn't answering when we tried to order ahead of time, but ended up walking over and ordered at the counter for takeout. Wear your mask and keep distance!
Good food, They could (still) season it a little more, but it's improved from my visit a year ago. It's real casual, seats 10 people, prices are pretty much the new standard increased amount/s. One thing I like, they are generous with the cheese. I know that's a kind of small thing, but it makes the beans taste better. I think this location's food is better the Westchester location on Sepulveda. That's just me. 4 stars.
Cozy Mexican food shop a quick hop from El Porto. Came here post-run with my dad for lunch, and dined in. Note that seating is very limited since it’s a small spot, and most people seemed to opt for takeout. Metered street parking is available and there’s a parking lot across the street. Credit cards and cash are accepted. Note that they no longer serve lengua (even though it’s listed in the menu). I got the junior deluxe wet burrito (you get a choice of chicken or ground beef) and I still had half for leftovers the next day. The person who took our order was super friendly and helpful. We got some tostadas with salsa (very mild) and got to enjoy the breeze in front of the open window. Overall, it’s a relaxed, lowkey spot to grab some food by the beach.
Great food, worth the price. Can get packaged at times as it is small but would recommend.
Food is old school, Mexican Small business. I drive from San Pedro. Good food, really nice portions and cheap.(opps I mean, inexpensive)Seating, not so good nor is parking.( near the beach). Open late. No women, just guys cookin. Worth leaving a tip. Lol
Not how I wanted to spend my night at 2:50 am hugging a toilet. Food was bland going down, one of those regretful eats. Feels a little bit spicier coming up no thanks to the chef. I rarely leave reviews on restaurants, but the rating, quality, and subsequent experience of it all coming up has me wondering who these customers are giving it a 4.6 average. 3 stars because who’s to say it was their food that made me sick… but my wife is sick and we ate the same thing. Worst of all - it's Thanksgiving morning and we have kids...
At least for the wet burrito they give you a nice big ol portion. And it’s not even that expensive. Taste good too, nothing to write home about but it’s good and consistent. They got a little roof place to eat too that is kinda nice. But there’s usually a bunch of bugs up there. Tostadas came with the burrito too. I got the super deluxe
Heard a lot of good things about this restaurant. last night was my first time there it's very small mainly just bar seating. Your kitchen is extremely small. So I took my food home I was very disappointed the flavor the texture was nothing what I expected I ordered a beef taquito order came with two I didn't know they were going to give me ground beef taquitos they were very oily and had no flavor. I also had chili relleno and a chicken enchilada very poorly made I did not like them whatsoever sorry I threw them in the trash we spent a total of $57 my son and I didn't enjoy it whatsoever my last time there
I have passed by this place a couple times and finally decided to try it out. I personally will not be going back here. The food is fine but the way I was treated was terrible. I ordered a burrito to go nothing else something simple. I speak Spanish fluently so I was surprised to hear the staff talk down about how much I tipped them and that I should have tipped more. This was amongst themselves at full volume knowing I speak Spanish. They did it in front of me as a form of shaming or to get a reaction from me I suppose. The food is not good enough for me to go back especially after being treated that way. No thank you.
I love this place I have been coming here for over 17 years! However last night I was very disappointed at the management. If he started listening to the customer instead of watching what was going on on TV it might be better. He’s not the regular manager and if I ever come to this location and he’s there I will not order! He argued with me when all I simply wanted to do was add an additional burrito to my order. Not change anything just simply add a vegetarian burrito. The reason I come to this location is because I like the vibe and my regular guy. I will never go to the Sepulveda location which the little gremlin is usually at.
Bland. Food comes out wicked fast because it’s all pre made ready to be thrown together. Boiled chicken for shredded chicken. Shocked this place has made it since 1969 and gets decent reviews. Must be a sort of tourist trap. I would recommend elsewhere!
Yet another place in Manhattan Beach that I can only rate service and atmosphere. They did welcome me when I walked in but that's as far as we got. They never asked for my order and kept very busy taking phone orders, orders from others who walked in, and packing food. It was odd. The restaurant is a little hole in the wall with limited seating and no restroom. They may have great food but I ran out of time and, admittedly, patience.
I don’t usually leave reviews but I’m disappointed. My boyfriend and I were trying to find something quick and couldn’t find any taco trucks or stands so we decided to come here. The tacos were 2X the price of a stand or truck for one taco. We each got two, both of us getting asada. It took 25 minutes to get our order. Which if the food made sense taste/quality/size I wouldn’t complain on price and time. But it didn’t. It was absolutely covered in cilantro. Enough for me to have to take big chunks off. And the worst part.. 20 min after eating. My bf and I were both SUPER sick. I’m so disappointed in this experience. But I wanted to warn other people - at the very least don’t go for the asada.
My tacos were burnt, the carasada fries over cooked, and greasy will not return. If I could give no stars I would. The only thing good about this place was the server.
It hurts writing this because El T’s used to be one of my favorite local Cali burrito spots west of the 405, but the past few times I’ve eaten here it’s been worse than mid. The burritos smell like wet rag, the fries inside are mushy/unseasoned, the meat is flavorless, the salsa isn’t spicy anymore, and the service has gone downhill. All around very disappointing and I miss the old El T’s when they used to put in the effort. Only good thing left about this spot is the overlook up top. Such a bummer. Time to find another local spot.
Does not care about customers unless you are young and pretty then the guy running it will notice you. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Will watch you wait and wait until you ask where's the food cause he's so distracted by younger women.no masks and customers drinking behind the counter and mixing up drinks with the soda machine and dumping their own liquor in the soda cups. Very unprofessional and dirty. Greasy and gross. The good reviews can't be real. WORST Mexican food in all of LA. Very very creepy vibe from the manager or guy running the front. Do yourself a favor and order from taco bell because you will get better service and better food there then this "authentic" overpriced garbage!
Unfortunately, this was probably the worst Mexican food I ever had. I ordered a "taco burrito," hard shell taco, and soft shell taco. EVERYTHING I ordered was DRIPPING in grease, to the point it looked like I had ordered a wet burrito instead. The tacos were dripping in grease as well. And to make matters worst, NONE of the food had any real seasoning. I had to add salt to the food once I got home, but that didn't help. The greasy sogginess literally made me queasy -- I mean, grease was literally pouring out the food. Because I didn't want to waste my money, I tried my best to eat some, but quickly had to stop. So disappointed, because based on reviews I thought this place had good food. The only thing good was the salsa, and the guy who serviced me was friendly. Food was terrible though.
I came here @ 10am had to wait for the cashier to come 30mins later I didn’t receive a menu either. Only one person can work the register I don’t think they trust their staff. I got the breakfast machaca #23 plate the meat was barely edible and chewy like it came out of the freezer. Egg, Beans and rice were decent but bland. I paid 23 bucks for food worse than Taco Bell. The people were nice enough but I won’t return
