Food was excellent. Had the calamari to start, Mahi with asparagus and jasmine rice (perfection) and lobster roll. Our server Kristin was great with very caring professional service. Sat outside with view of the ocean-really beautiful!!
My wife and I came here with our kids for our 17 year anniversary and we had an exceptionally good time. Our server was extremely fun and involved in everything that she recommended came out to perfection. We had some tasty drinks. The atmosphere was vibrant. Seems like a lot of locals probably come here. Environment was fun and sporty. Lots of televisions and the football game was on. I would say that this is a good place to bring your family dresses casual and the atmosphere is light.
Everything from start to finish was amazing! Got the sourdough bread, which was crunchy and delicious. Two lunch specials which came with soup or salad. Everything was perfectly cooked, hot, and fresh. Chris was our server, who was attentive and friendly. They provided a complimentary birthday dessert which was also great! The Navy Grog, prickly pear rum and mango wheat ale drinks were all excellent. A block away from the beach - spectacular!
Amazing food! The calamari was excellent and almost the best I've ever eaten. Salmon was cooked perfect along with the brussel sprouts and sautéed spinach. Service was excellent and although it was a bit loud it was well worth it for the meal and service. Cozy atmosphere.
Had an amazing experience here! The calamari was absolutely incredible perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was truly top tier. The staff was very welcoming, extremely accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. At one point I got a little oil on my shirt, and the manager even brought me a shout wipe without me asking. That level of care and attention really stood out. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and exceptional service. We’ll definitely be back!
Cozy atmosphere with excellent food and excellent service! Everything on the menu looked so good it was hard to make a choice but I went with the salmon and it was perfect. The bacon brussel sprouts were on point and I was very satisfied with the meal and experience as a whole. I will definitely be back next time I'm in LA.
I was in SOCAL for work this past week.. Our group of seven selected Rock'N Fish as the venue for our final dinner gathering and we weren't disappointed!! Among the dishes sampled were the filet, the blackened rock fish, fish & chips, seafood jambalaya, and the teriyaki chicken.. We also had the sourdough, crispy calamari, and garlic cheese toast appetizers!! Several beverages were sampled, too.. Among those the blood orange mule, fish house punch, and the spicy pineapple 🍍 margarita.. Everything was fantastic!! I sampled the spicy pineapple margarita and it delivered a refreshing combination of pineapple juice and jalapeño tequila.. Rimmed with Tajín, the overall presentation was quite delightful.. My dinner consisted of a house salad with balsamic vinegarette dressing, garlic mashed potatoes, and a medium filet.. The salad was delivered cold and crisp and the balsamic was flavorful.. The filet was quite good and topped with brandy peppercorn sauce and herb butter.. That combination of flavors was quite good.. The garlic mashed potatoes, while also good, seemed a little too heavy on the garlic for my personal tastes.. Otherwise the meal was fantastic.. Our server, Spencer, did a fine job managing our party of seven, seated upstairs.. Of note, our check could only be split up to four ways among seven people, so that was a bit of a pain since each of us were responsible for our own expenses for business purposes.. I feel that with today's modern POS systems, providing individual checks shouldn't be an issue.. Aside from the check-splitting limitation our experience was fantastic and I'm pretty sure we'll consider Rock'N Fish for repeat visits to the Manhattan Beach area in the future!! The location is a great destination!!
Rock N Fish has great seafood and drinks in a casual atmosphere right on the beach/pier in Manhattan in the center of all the action. The patio is a great spot to people watch and take in the beautiful weather. The crab cakes are massive and delicious. The lobster tacos were a hit with a hard shell and special sauce. The crusted mahi mahi was outstanding.. very crisp but light and very flavorful with a fruit salsa on top and served over asparagus. Overall the food was excellent. They also have a wide variety on the menu.. tacos, burgers, fish sammies, prime rib specials, plenty of steak choices... there is a lot of choice and you can't go wrong because the food is all great. Service was friendly and our server gave us nice recommendations that turned out to be winners. We shall return.
In town visiting our son for Christmas and we enjoyed a delicious dinner with family here! Our waitress, Tricia, was outstanding and very knowledgeable at suggesting our entrees. I had the mahi mahi and the prickly pear coloda and they were fabulous! We definitely recommend this establishment over and over again!
Our family had a fantastic experience for dinner. Jackie was our server and was so wonderful! Very knowledgeable of the food and helpful in suggestions on what to eat and drink. All of the food was prepared well and delicious. The grilled Artichoke appetizer was amazing! The signature Navy Grog was average but the Fish House Punch was on point. Highly recommend.
This place never disappoints! We love to come here and sit at the bar, especially when Ian the bartender is working! He always greets us with a smile and makes us feel like we’re VIP’s. Ian always has an enthusiastic way of offering the latest specials and makes a fantastic drink! Whether it’s a martini or an Old Fashioned-it’s always quick and tasty! The menu is full of great choices and the fish is always fresh! I always love to get a plate of oysters or a bowl of chowder to start. If you’re in the neighborhood, go visit Ian at Rock n Fish and be prepared for a great drink and a delicious meal!
I went to Rock'n Fish for a small holiday gathering with friends. The atmosphere was so cozy and the restaurant goes all out in decorating for the holidays. The staff from the host to the manager to the server were all very warm. They really seemed like they wanted to make sure we had a great time. The chef even came out to check on our food. The highlight of my experience was the Seabass dish. It's gluten-free and dairy free and might be the best thing I've ever had in my entire life. I also appreciated that they have gluten-free beer and it's delicious. I will definitely be back to Rock'n Fish very soon
We have been here a few times and always have the best experience! My favorite bartender Ian always has the best recommendations! Got the teriyaki chicken with his recommendations of sides and it was delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try more on the menu :)
We love this restaurant! Food and drinks are amazing. Definitely recommend the Grog for a great cocktail, the Blackened Halibut, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. We were so lucky to have Tricia as our waitress for the evening. She is amazing and nailed it with all the recommendations. If you're eating here, make sure Tricia is taking good care of you! Will definitely how many be back next time we're in town.
"Rock’N Fish starts with the best bartender in town: Ian Hutton! 🥂 Ian is a total pro—he knows the menu perfectly and just feels the vibe. Tonight, Kristina and I had the Rib Eye with Mac 'n Cheese and a Baked Potato (so good!). The Daou Chardonnay was the perfect pairing. Came to celebrate a Birthday. Got the seafood food tower, boy this was wonderful!! The seafood was so fresh and the Horse Radish that came with it was the best we ever had. I know that odd thing to bring up but it was that good. I really want to make this an Annual thing to get the Seafood Tower. They have the prime rib on Sunday so might come back or do a delivery just for that. They were celebrating their 25 years Anniversary got the Navy Grogg, which was super tasty and sweet. Got to take the glass home for this celebration. Last but not least, the cream brulee was unbelieveable. The crust on top usually it is thin but their cream brulee top portion is thick and it was heaven. It was so heaven in mouth took 2 for to go. Also got the irish cream and boy that was strong and tasty. The service was Superb. Our Waitress was the sweetest. Thank you for a great time and delicous food.
The food here is great. Service was top notch. Cool location near the beach. The clam chowder is exceptional as is the macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi! 10/10 would recommend!
Really nice seafood restaurant right in the heart of Manhattan Beach. They serve the biggest oysters I have ever seen. The fish are very fresh and have no fishy flavor at all. The coconut shrimp were big and crispy, packed with flavor. The interior decoration is great and the staff are very friendly.

My work team and I had an amazing dinner earlier this month. We had popcorn shrimp for a starter. The shrimp was crispy and the sauce was delicious. I had the rock fish entree and the fish was cooked just right. The accompanying sauce had a great flavor. This location is very close to the beach in a cute area of Manhattan Beach. Our server was amazing. Ask for Karina. She gave us great recommendations as it was our first time there. I’ll definitely return.
Great address for small and large groups after a day at the beach. Their semi-outdoor patio gives you a first row seat to the sunset while you enjoy the happy hour. Menu wise you can get a few classics you expect at the seaside such as their lobster roll or fish of the day. As a vegetarian I really enjoyed their grilled artichoke and loaded baked potato (ask for no meat) - overall the kids also loved it and enjoyed their food followed by a sundae ice cream. Service was excellent although we were a large group (again, with kids…) The proximity with the beach, service and menu makes it a good choice for lunch or diner.
If you're in the area of Manhattan Beach, this is a great place to stop for lunch. I recommend the patio seating. There's a nice view with fresh air, perfect for a midday lunch. My server Alexis provided wonderful suggestions and attentive service. The New England Clam Chowder was delectable. Somehow, the Crispy Fish Sandwich was buttery with a splendid crunch. The Asian slaw added just enough topping. Just for something different, I tried the garlic cheese toast. There are several tantalizing drink options on the menu. The Navy Grog is one of their specialty drinks.

We stopped in because of the location and the atmosphere. We loved the food and the service. I know that the lobster was cooked the way many like, just cooked, but I do like mine cooked a little longer, shrimp too. Ate it all of course, it was that good.
Great location right across from the beach and very attentive staff but I am going to have to give a mixed review on the food. The clam chowder - delicious. The mac n cheese - great. The tortilla soup - not sure (wasn't my meal). The meat skewer - a little too chewy. The coconut prawns - not good at all. I love coconut prawns and these tasted so bad I only ate one of the four. The texture wasn't great, nor was the flavor. Also, the sauce that came with it in the dish was so runny you couldn't really get a lot of it on the shrimp.
